UFOs Or Paper Lanterns?

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Newspaper Article.

By Jennifer Lang.

Cloverdale Reporter.

Dozens of Cloverdale residents have recently reported seeing strange lights in the night sky. An explanation may be blowing in the wind.

Was it a practice run for the Mayan calendar prediction? Was it E.T. phoning home?

Or was it a group of illuminated, floating paper lanterns, released into the skies over Cloverdale by some celebrant who got carried away by the spirit of the season?

We may never know for sure, but at least one Cloverdale resident who saw bright, moving lights in the skies on Dec. 22 (“Strange Lights Over Cloverdale,” Jan. 12) believes the sighting was really paper lanterns, which float on the air using candle power.

“That night my sons and I saw nearly 20 of these,” Jonas Lee Photography posted on the Reporter’s

Facebook Page after reading the story.

“We followed one and found where it crashed. It was a metre-diametre Chinese paper lantern! The wind was causing these to blow quite far.”

He didn’t get a photo, however. “The rice paper dissolves quickly,” he wrote, “leaving a wire frame and foam pad that the candle rests in.”

Another local eyewitness concurs with the lantern theory.

“I do believe what you saw was lanterns,” the witness told UFO expert Brian Vike, submitting a report to the Houston, B.C.,-based researcher’s blog, The Vike Factor.

This eyewitness has seen them floating in the skies here on Canada Day and other holidays.

“If you find out who let them go I would sure love to know the story.”

The lantern theorists are among dozens of Cloverdalians who reported seeing unusual lights in the sky on Dec. 22, and over the Christmas holidays as part of a Yuletide flood of UFO reports submitted to The Vike Factor from B.C., the U.S. and elsewhere.

Vike found it curious that there were so many reports coming out of Surrey.

Among the reports was the story of a local man who posted video footage captured after he and his son pulled over on their drive home to watch the strange sight.

The lights – which were silent – didn’t appear to act like aircraft, according to the man who shot the footage. But he’s not yet convinced that what he and others saw that night were lanterns.

In coming forward with his sighting, the man is hoping someone will be able to identify what he – and the other people who stopped their cars along 60 Avenue to watch – saw that night.

“I hope someone has an explanation,” he said.

Since his story was featured in The Reporter, more Cloverdale residents have now reported seeing strange, bright lights over Cloverdale, snapping photos and shooting video, and posting their findings on Facebook pages.

A couple who were up late wrapping presents went out to their backyard after noticing a cluster of strange lights travelling across the sky on Dec. 22.

“It was eerie to say the least, and I wanted to notify someone but thought I would sound like a lunatic,” she said. “I was relieved to see the sighting in the paper yesterday, but it still leaves me with an uneasy feeling.”

Another witness was equally baffled, describing how, a few nights before Christmas, three orange lights could be seen moving very slowly, one at a time, very high in the sky. One seemed to stop, make a 90-degree turn and start moving east.

“I dragged my 17-year-old son outside onto the deck to watch, and he thought they were definitely not airplanes, especially given the extreme right turn they each made.”

Another person was also relieved after reading the story. “Unless you’ve seen them yourself, it really is a bizarre sighting.”

It’s hard not to conclude it’s all really part of a sneaky advertising scheme dedicated to stirring up that all-important buzz for a product.

“Don’t be surprised if your display makes front page news in your local paper!” A website that sells paper lanterns called FlyingLanterns.co.uk gushes. “Flying lanterns can easily be mistaken for UFOs!”

If so, then a lot of people will feel duped.

It’s worth noting the site carries this warning: Please ensure you contact the local coast guard if you intend releasing your lanterns on the beach or near the coast. This will avoid causing unnecessary alarm.

Vike, who’s investigated hundreds of UFO sightings, concedes the strange lights may turn out to be lanterns but he doesn’t expect it will dampen the debate for now.

The time of year – the festive holiday season – may further underscore this theory.

“It would be the time of year that folks would let things like this go, and they are becoming a popular addition to fireworks. I just wish we [could hear from] the folks who know for a fact, the folks who let them go. This would be awesome.”

UFOs: To Be Or Not To Be

The Interior News

Smithers, B.C.

Wednesday, August 14, 2002.

After an article on UFO sightings in Telkwa and Houston was published in last week's edition of The Interior News, reports on UFO sightings are flying in and credibility of the sightings are gaining momentum.

"I can't keep up with all that is going on, " said an excited and exhausted Houston UFO researcher Brian Vike.

A flurry of phone calls, on-site interviews and investigative research has left Vike with little sleep. Since the papers hit the stands, five witnesses came forward, claiming they saw the white ball of light Telkwa resident Gordon Stewart glimpsed on the evening of July 29.

After reading the paper, Quick teacher Dina Hanson called Stewart to share the details of her sighting, which she recorded in her journal the day after her experience. Her son, civic engineer Ryan Hanson also saw the object, which partially matched Stewarts's description.

The Hanson's sighting also took place July 29, five minutes earlier than Stewarts's sighting, traveling in a southwesterly direction from Quick towards Telkwa.

Both observations commented on the awe striking brightness and size of the light; the white and yellow hues and soundless travel at a speed, which exceeded the propulsion of a man-made object. Some of the differences between the two incidents was that Dina's light shape was an elongated circle opposed to Stewart's round one. Dina also noted a slight downward trajectory to her object, unlike Stewart's parallel flight pattern.

However, Ryan introduced that because the object was moving away from his mother and himself, the object may have just appeared to be dropping because of their perspective. Dina originally attributed her experience to a meteorite sighting, but after a phone call to a professor at the University of Northern B.C. revealed that meteorites produce sound, Dina is uncertain. "I am pretty cynical about things like UFO's, " she said. "But because there was no sound, I think it is remotely possible it was something else."

A Smithers family of late night hot tubbers comprised of both adults and children also contacted Stewart, sharing a similar story, adding that the light engaged in a series of loops. Smithers resident Dan Derbyshire was also added to the list in an unrelated sighting. However, he wanted to support those stumbling upon these unexplainable phenomenon's. "Sometimes people feel they are the only ones (that are seeing unusual sights)," Derbyshire said, "But I thought I'd let them know, they aren't alone."

Like many other UFO reports, the edges of reality expand with the number of incidents reported as viewers digest science fiction's fanciful imagination with tangible physical experiences. "It was not what I classify as a flying saucer," Derbyshire noted of the craft, which reminded him of a metallic 40-gallon barrel, heading towards Houston at an estimated 300 kilometers per hour. He stated he is a UFO believer, but dismissed his incident as an American flight exercise in one breath while pondering over why he heard no sound in another.

His experience neither fits H.G. Wells' War of The Worlds where aliens employ mass destruction in tea-cup-and-saucer shaped crafts nor did it fit with the characteristics of a man-made aircraft. Reality and rationale collided as he attempted to interpret what he saw. Unlike a plane, there were no wings on the ribbed object and its flight was soundless, Derbyshire noted. Unlike many UFO sightings, the object did not emanate a white glowing light nor assume the regular saucer form, he added.

Vike surmises Derbyshire's suspicions are correct after a series of phone calls attributed the sighting to a military reconnaissance drone. Although, if this assessment is correct, many more questions arise about what is going on for Vike. "A secret military exercise?" Vike questioned. "Who knows". Vike's suspicions are rising as reports of military trucks are detected around Houston and the Telkwa High Road. Vike and his wife also saw and heard the hum of large turbo propellers of military type crafts flying over Houston on August 8. "Something is going on," Vike alleged. Despite the couple both seeing and hearing the two military crafts, the Smithers air tower told Vike there was no air activity in the Houston vicinity.

Stewart is heartened by the additional reports coming in. "(People) can't say I've lost my marbles," Stewart laughed. "There are too many people who have seen it. I am not the only one."

10 Or So Orange Lights Over Kamloops British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  September 27, 2011

Time:  Approxamtlty 12:20 a.m.

Hi Brian, last night I stepped out side to have a smoke and was looking east observing the mini green dipper, then I turned north, and to my amazement I saw 10 or so orange lights in the sky. The travelled southwest towards Vancouver. They were flying at an incredible speed in an erratic formation.

This sighting was very similar to the "orange lights" observed in the central US as I had seen on UFO hunters. I observed them for a good 30 seconds and then lost them as they travelled west due to the city lights.

Tonight I am organizing some friends with cameras, hopefully we catch something. The approximate time was 12:20 am.

Have you had another reports in the area last night? Thanks.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

7 Or 8 Orange Lights In The Sky Over Tawas Michigan

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  August 6, 2011

Time:  Evening.

Hi Brian, how are you? My name is (name removed) and I am from Fenton, Mi. I have a cabin in the Tawas area so I come up here often. Last night (8/6/2011) I went in to town to "Mr. Jack'ss" to watch the Tiger game. As soon as the game was over I went to my truck to head back to the cabin.

Before I got back to my truck, a couple asked me to look in the sky and asked what I thought it may be. There were 7 or 8 orange lights in the sky.  They looked a little larger than stars, probably because they were closer.

They weren't moving at all, maybe a slight flicker. I watched them for a minute or so and even tried to take a photo with my phone, but they did not show up on the screen, I'm not sure why.  Suddenly, one by one, they faded slowly, until they were gone.

The girl called 911. Before I left, I called also just to get it on record, and the man told me they had two other similar calls from the Oscoda area. That made sense since the objects were in the northern sky.

It was very exciting!  I'm curious if you heard about it or have witnessed any other objects in the sky.

I hope you are enjoying your summer.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

6 Or 7 Bright Red Orange Lights Over Pitsea Essex United Kingdom

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  April 18, 2011

Time:  Evening.

Hi Brian, I and my mum had a UFO sighting a couple of days ago and I've been looking around the net to see if anyone else had reported it. To my shock I found the article about the mother and son from Pitsea Essex that saw 6 or 7 bright red/orange lights last year in January.

We are also from the same place. I'm shocked because we saw the exact same thing, all in all 6 or 7 very bright lights appearing in the distance one at a time, I’d say between 30 seconds and a minute intervals.

They came right over our heads as we were standing in the back garden having a smoke. I can hardly believe what I saw. I've tried to pin it on everything from planes to helicopters to balloons and I'm absolutely sure it was nothing like that.

They were silent, guided and very low and close, they each had a main very bright orange/red light that enveloped the whole craft, but with a little pulsing white light in the middle of the main light. I've always believed we are not alone in this universe since it is the logical thing to believe with the vastness out there. I also want proof, I think I have just witnessed the proof I need. Thanks.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

5 Or 6 Bright Orange Lights Over Black Hill Allendale UK

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  June 24, 2011

Time:  Approxamtlty 1:30 a.m.

Hi, I got your email address from this page here at: http://worldufos.blogspot.com/2011/03/orange-ball-of-light-over.html after Googling "strange lights Northumberland".

I live in Carrshield, near Allendale and I've seen similar mysterious lights on more than one occasion. I commute from down south on a regular basis and so I'm often driving over the tops in the dead of night.

Last night as I crested Black Hill at about 1:30 a.m. I saw the lights again, 5 or 6 bright orange lights moving slowly just above the horizon to the north. I continued past my house and onto the Allendale road and parked up here to get a better view.

I watched for about 10 minutes. It was difficult to scale them, but I would say they were between 5 and 10 miles to the north.

They were moving slowly and as one faded another appeared, and so on in a kind of regular cycle. They were below cloud level  and occasionally I could see the underside of the clouds brightening as each one flared.

As I said, they were pretty bright. The best explanation I can come up with is that they were flares. Perhaps the military were doing some sort of exercise. But the regularity with which they came and went would seem to contradict that theory.

I'd be interested to hear if you have any theories - or indeed an explanation.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

4 Or 5 Orange Objects Hovering Over Schererville Merrillville Indiana

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  August 5, 2011

Time:  9:15 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 1

Number of Objects: 4 or more orange lights.

Shape of Objects: Broken triangle.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: While traveling east bound on US-30 through Schererville and entering Merrillville. I observed at least 4 maybe 5 orange spheres/orbs which seemed to just hover with no sound over the highway.

They were under 400 feet approximately. These lights were spread out into a broken triangle and seemed to just appear or catch my eye. I sensed a very surreal feeling and was totally shocked and amazed. My mind was racing with questions.

With narrow shoulders on the road and heavy traffic, I did not stop, but slowed down. One light was larger (sphere) and the others seemed more like orbs. It was cloudy and I could not discern if they were connected.

About one quarter of a mile I turned off Hwy. 30 to enter Crown Point and looking back to my right I could still see one orange orb, lighting up the clouds.

Thank you to the witness for the excellent report.

4 Or 5 Orange Lights Over Salt Lake Valley Utah

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  September 29, 2011

Time:  9:40 p.m.

Hi Brian, I want to tell you about something I saw last night (September 29, 2011).  At 9:40 p.m., I was driving south on 700E (towards 7500S), and I noticed 4 or 5 lights in the sky. They were orange and seemed not to be moving. I kept looking up and trying to figure out what the hell they were, while also trying not to wreck my car because I was driving.

Finally (about 90 seconds after seeing the lights) I found a parking lot to park and get out of my car to look at them. By that time they had disappeared, except for 1. It was traveling west, and it made no sound.

The orange light pulsated on it. As it traveled west, the light extinguished and it disappeared in the middle of the sky. Then another orange light came from the east and did the same thing, eventually disappearing in the middle of the sky by turning its light off.

A car driving by spotted me in the parking lot. There were 2 people in it, a guy and a girl. The girl excitedly screamed "did you see that!?"  Then the guy mentioned "we saw about 8 of them and they were hovering down close to the houses.

The girl asked "did you see the one with the weird shape?" Something about a "triangle top." I answered no, because I hadn't gotten a good enough look, but they obviously did.

The lights came and went pretty quickly, but a bunch of people had to have seen them other than me and those other two people. In your blog, I noticed it has been almost 1 year exactly since your sighting (Sept 30, 2010) and mine (Sept 29, 2011).

Not sure what to make of that, or any of this, but it sure is interesting. I've never seen anything like that in my life.

4 Or 5 Orange And Blue Lights Seen From Falkirk UK

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  May 6, 2011

Time:  Approxamtlty 10:00 p.m.

Me and my wife live just  the south side of Falkirk. Around 10:00 p.m. we witnessed 4 or five distant orange and blue lights to the south of us, maybe near Slamannan. They were moving in a random pattern, which became circular.

One by one they slowly disappeared into the distance. It was so unusual, that we both turned all the lights off and later went outside.

Call me a skeptic, but the only thing I can think of, other than UFO’s is aircraft in a holding pattern preparing to land at Edinburgh or Cumbernauld. Maybe a flying school training session ?

7 Or 9 Lights Flying In A Perfect V Or Chevron Shape Mississauga Ontario

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  March 28, 2007

Time:  9:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Mississauga 15km SW of Toronto Intl Airport

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: 7 or 9 orange/yellow lights in a perfect chevron or triangle shape.

Full Description of event/sighting: On March 28, 2007 at approximately 9:30 p.m. my wife and I were outside in our backyard. I spotted what appeared to be 7 or 9 lights flying in a perfect V or chevron shape similar to how geese fly. There was one exact same light flying just to the right of the formation.  We both saw the objects heading north.

The lights were pale yellow/orange and did not blink or flash. The lights appeared to be about three times bigger than airplane lights but not as bright.

The flight path was smooth and consistent and took about 20 seconds to cross the sky. We live about 15km southwest of the airport and the object appeared to be higher than the low flying airplanes that are landing or taking off.  However, it was not as high as the planes flying very high overhead.

The object did not make any sounds as it passed.  It was a quiet, clear night with a half moon out. No airplanes were passing when it flew by. We could not see the bottom of aircraft, however I felt that it was darker than the background of the night sky.  My wife thought it was transparent.

The object could have been triangular with lights along two sides.  It is not known if the second single light off to the right was part of the main chevron. It moved exactly with the rest of the lights.

Thank you to the witness for the excellent report.

Triangular Or Boomerang Shaped Object/UFO With Illuminated Edge Over Kamloops British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  April 24, 2006

Time:  1:02 a.m.

Triangular Or Boomerang Shaped Object: Hello Brian, last night at 1:02 a.m. my girlfriend and myself saw a triangular or boomerang shaped object fly over our home in Kamloops, British Columbia.

The object went from north to south and the sighting lasted maybe thirty seconds. It appeared to be a gray-white with a illuminated edge, it was hard to guess what the altitude would be.

The object was visible for most of what you could call the geodesic dome above us, a constant direction with semi erratic line in it's direction before it just disappeared. It was not a bird, not a plane, nope not a meteor and not a satellite.

The only other thing of note is, just before it disappeared there was a small flash, like flipping a coin in the sun. Not like the constant reflection of a satellite, too fast, too close. As far as distance, up about the same as looking at your thumb nail with your arm extended. Pretty close.

Thank you Brian, just thought you might have had a similar report. Time 1:02 a.m. and on April 24, 2006.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

4 Or 5 Fighter Jets Circling Unknown Craft/UFO Over Arizona

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  Winter of 1995 - 1996.

Here's a report in the public domain for the first time: During the winter of 1995 - 1996, while on a cross country bicycle trip I observed a 'craft' that were of a type previously unknown to me.

I had set up camp near an abandoned adobe house that was located near the U.S./Mexico border in the state of Arizona. As was my custom, while on this particular trip, I camped out most nights and would seek and or create a campsite that was somewhat difficult to see from any roads or highways, because this trip was a solo bicycle ride.

After having my evening meal I was enjoying the pleasure of watching the sunset. A black Chevy blazer with black tinted windows, one occupant and U.S. government license plates drove down an adjacent unpaved road and approached a locked gate.

The driver got out, unlocked the gate and passed through and relocked it. He began what I'd refer to as a 'recon' of the general area, using some sort of optical devise (I saw this through 8x35 Nikon binoculars). He continued this behavior, driving outside of my visual range, until the Blazer returned to the gate and passed through again.

I thought that perhaps he was searching for illegals crossing the border. Later on that night, while I was doing some star gazing I saw an amber colored light moving low in the desert sky, within a few moments it seemed to become larger or move towards my location, nether of which I was sure of at that time.

I checked my watch for the time and when I looked up again, the amber light moved slightly to the east, at which that time I felt sure the light was moving towards me.

This light began to have some definition, as it drew closer it appeared to be rectangular and although it seemed to grow brighter, it was not illuminating the desert floor (from my ground-level perspective). I began to feel alarmed as it came closer to me, as it seemed to be very, very large.

When it got close to approximately 120 yards of my location I took out my 'AA' cell flashlight, focused the beam as tightly as I could and aimed it towards the "craft" while sending a Morse code message.

This seemed kind of silly, but this is what I did. The rectangle amber light 'turned off' right after I did this. In a few seconds, perhaps as many as 45, my night vision began to return and I was astounded to see starlight being blocked out in a large area of the sky adjacent to the place where I'd last seen the intense amber light.

It was clear to me that I was seeing something very large moving slowly at an altitude of less than 500 feet. I had heard sounds that were similar to the noise of cellophane being crushed while the amber light was on and very close to me, although this sound ceased when the light extinguished.

I watched the 'dark spot' in the sky until I could no longer see it. I felt some adrenaline still coursing through me, after the experience, and decided to stay out watching the sky, since I was sure that I couldn't sleep then.

In about 40 minutes or so I again saw the amber light in the distance to the south and east of camp. This light, however, was more distant and was of the same color, yet it was coming from the top and bottom of what was clearly an airborne craft of some sort.

The amber light was seen by me to resemble long, thin 'cones' of beams' (like a flashlight beam) issuing from the center top and bottom of the craft. I could see 4 or 5 fighter jets circling in helix-type orbits around one object.

A moment later, another object 'turned on' it's amber lights nearby (within approximately 1 mile) the object that I was observing. It too was being circled by fighter aircraft.

I watched this going on for 15 minutes, then the objects began to appear in different area of the sky (by 'appear' I mean they would 'turn on' the amber beams) momentarily and then 'shut off' the amber lights, only to appear somewhere else in the sky.

There was one instance where one of the objects lights appeared to 'shutter' for a moment, light fully, and 'shutter again. The size of these objects (I saw 3 at the same time only once, 2 at the same time over 5 times) dwarfed the fighter aircraft around them.

At one point, I observed what I'd best describe as a 'plume', similar to a small rocket plum, issue from the center axis of the outside curve of the object, and although I really don't know what it was, it seemed to be a rocket being fired from the object.

The trajectory of this 'plume' was perpendicular to the horizon, and after moving not much more than 100 yards, turned 90 degrees downward and it's light ceased. I am most curious to inquire if anyone else observed these things, or has seen similar objects in the same area.

This was not the first time that I've been in close proximity to unknown aircraft, but the others I've seen were not of the same type as these described here, and I have a general feeling that the objects I describe in this post may be of military design or origin.

I have left out some details of the general shape and size of this 'craft' so that I may be able to discuss them with someone else who also saw the same events as I.

Thanks to Dan for his report. If anyone else has been witness to a unknown object of this kind as described here, would you please contact Brian Vike at brian_vike@telus.net for further investigation.

3 Or 4 Alien Beings Standing At The End Of My Bed In San Francisco California

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  Late December of 1993

In late December of 1993, a couple of months after my San Francisco sighting, I went to sleep one night and felt very strange, something not quite right, something I had not felt before and I couldn't explain it. I wasn't feeling ill or anything like that. I tossed and turned and I noticed that I would close my eyes and try to sleep, but would open them again a few seconds later, not feeling tired. After a short while, lying on my side, I noticed a reflection of a pink-red light source on the blinds I was facing, like the kind of reflection you would get if you took a spot light and shone it on the blinds.

I was puzzled since I had never seen a light before of that color and was trying to figure out where the light was coming from. At first I thought it must be coming from outside, but the blinds were tightly closed and the light reflection was on the inside of the blinds.

I then finally realized it was coming from inside my room, behind me, and I also realized we didn't have any lights at all in the general area behind me where the light must be emanating from in order to cast a reflection on my blinds.

Satisfied that I had figured out where the light was emanating from, I did the next logical thing. I proceeded to close my eyes and go to sleep (!). To this day I still don't know why I didn't turn around to look where the light was and what it was, since I am an extremely curious person by nature.

Anyway, an unknown length of time later I suddenly "woke up."

Actually, what happened was that I suddenly did a super-fast sit-up from lying on my back, one moment completely unconscious and the next instantaneously, completely awake (not groggy in the least as from sleep) and sitting up, extremely alert (in a "flight or fight" response) and waving my arms fiercely as if fighting an attacker.

My adrenalin was flowing and I was, to put it mildly, filled with terror. I was yelling loudly and cursing at "someone" (I didn't have a clue who it was) and telling them to leave me alone, liberally using expletives and threatening them with harm if they touched me again. For a few seconds as I sat up, I saw at the foot of my bed the disappearing forms of 3 or 4 beings, smallish, maybe 4 feet in height. I did not see any details.

Their forms kind of seemed to shimmer and dissolve away, leaving the empty room behind them. My wife, who is a light sleeper and hears me when I tiptoe into the room, never woke up during my thrashing in bed next to her, yelling and turning the lights on. Her breathing also seemed much too quiet, not her usual sleep breathing.

The next day when I asked her if she had heard anything she said "nothing at all" and was very surprised when I eventually had the courage to tell her what had happened. I had never and have never been as terrified as that night. It was that night that I learned the difference between fear and terror.

After I "got up", I kept looking around me everywhere to see if there were any more of "them" in the room and I kept muttering the same things I had when I had been "switched on", although at a much lesser volume, but with the same intense conviction.

When I finally calmed down enough I looked at the clock and noticed it was about 3:30 a.m. For the next few days, I had to have the light on in the room, something I hadn't done since I was very young and afraid of the dark. The terror didn't subside for a long time, probably about 2 years.

Also since this experience, at least for the first 3 or 4 years, I noticed that whenever I saw a program on TV that had pictures of the little grey ETs, I would start feeling very nervous and fearful. I don't know why. Actually, I didn't even realize this was happening until my wife noticed that whenever such a program would be on TV and I was watching it, that I would get extremely agitated and I would have the look of fear on my face.

She pointed this out to me and I then became aware of my behavior. Since then I cannot go to sleep early any more. I usually get to sleep around 2:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. and I don't know why.

After that experience, I did some reading to figure out what had happened, came across Budd Hopkins's mail address and sent him a letter. He put me in touch with a couple of hypnotherapists, but I was not able to remember anything of that night, between the time I closed my eyes after seeing the light, to the time I rudely "woke up" (was "switched on"). I have tried about three of four hypnotherapists, but was never able to remember a thing, and I so desperately want to remember.

After this event, for the next few years, I had very vivid dreams, of a kind I never had before. In one such dream, I was lying on a small bed in a small, white hospital room. Everything was white. I was feeling very relaxed and I couldn't move.

At the foot of the bed were two persons, both exactly the same height, both wearing very dark, perhaps black, military-type uniforms which had high Mandarin-type collars. (They were the only things in the room that were not white). The faces of the people were completely fuzzy and I couldn't see any details. One of them held two small, black rectangular objects, one in each hand.

The small objects reminded me of large cufflinks and were about that size. That person slowly approached me and finally touched the objects to my neck, one to each side of the area where the "Adam's Apple" is. At that point, I felt this extreme rush of vibration/energy like he had just touched 2 live high voltage wires to my body. My entire body vibrated intensely and had this incredible energy rush and I woke up immediately, still feeling this incredible energy flowing through my body. It took a while for it to subside.

Another dream was very short and felt like a "flashback". In that dream, I was lying in my own bed in my room, on my back with my arms outside of the covers and laying straight down my side. Out of the darkness I then saw a very skinny arm with a rather disproportionately large hand that seemed to have only three very long and strange looking fingers (I could not see any knuckles on the fingers). As I watched this in my dream, I could not move. Then the hand grabbed my forearm with very strong fingers. It wasn't a sudden grab, just a deliberate, fairly slow approach and grab. At that point I woke up with a start.

In yet another dream I was floating through the air about 2 stories off the ground. My back was toward the ground and I could not move, but I could somehow see that I was heading for the attic of a 2 story house. I realized in my dream that I was going to smash into the house, but instead of doing so, I felt the most incredible sensation of passing through the wall, feeling a feeling and sound something like when one opens up a Velcro fastener (that "tearing" sound).

It was like a million tiny ripping or Velcro sounds and a feeling throughout my entire body of that sound. I guess another way of putting it is that it was almost like static electricity, for example, like when two pieces of clothing get highly charged with static electricity and cling to each other, and the sound the electricity makes (the "crackle") when they are forced apart.

The sensation stopped once I was through the wall. I then floated to a small table exactly the right size for my body. The table was right in the middle of this high-ceiling attic, which was completely bare. I didn't feel at all anxious but felt very calm, almost whimsical. I didn't see anyone around but I decided that I wanted to experiment and try to scream as loudly as I could, just because.

I opened my mouth (which along with my eyes was the only other thing on my body not paralyzed) and I let out as big a scream as I could muster, at the top of my lungs. Although I could feel that I was screaming very loudly, not one sound came from my mouth. I then woke up to find myself trying to scream, but with a very weak sound coming from me.

I have come to realize that each of these dreams contain aspects of abduction-related phenomena. These dreams felt very different, especially in content, to my "normal" dreams. There are other related dreams I have had, but I think I should stop here.

Thanks for your time. Take care.

I would like to thank this person for relating the experience to me. Also I am certain there are others out there who have gone through similar experiences and would like to know they are not alone in all of this. So please drop a line if you had a similar experience. SE Of Wetaskiwin Alberta Canada Globe Shaped UFOs Or Balloons ?

Posted: June 1, 2009

Date: May 2, 2009
Time: 2:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: SE of Wetaskiwin Alberta Canada.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 2-3
Shape of Objects: Globe.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: While watching a jet go by in sky, I noticed there was something beside it. I ran into get binoculars and it looked like 3 globes close together, they almost looked attached. There was like a halo that surrounded all 3 of them at one time. I followed it until it went before the sun and disappeared. I don't know, could have been balloons, but they we huge ones! I noticed it was different because the jet left it's contrail lines behind and these didn't. The entire sighting took about 5 minutes before I lost sight of them.

Thank you to the witness for their sighting report.

Windsor, Ontario Canada V Or Boomerang Shaped UFO

Posted: May 23, 2009

Date: May 21, 2009
Time: 11:09 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Windsor, Ontario.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: V, or tiny boomerang.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was standing in my backyard on a clear night stargazing, watching passing airplanes and looking for satellites. I caught sight of a small fast moving object. It appeared as a flying wing, maybe a small V-shaped boomerang orange and yellow like. It was glowing, but this may have been the craft's "headlights". There were no beacons or flashing lights. I didn't hear any engine noise over quiet background sounds of the suburbs.
It appeared to fly at the same elevation as the highest flying jets. But much, much, faster. It crossed the sky as I faced south, going from east to west. If 180* is the horizon, and 90* is pointing straight up, I saw it cross from 45* to 135* in five seconds. Very fast. No afterburner, I've seen fighter jets do that. No contrail or smoke.

Thank you to the witness for their sighting report.

UFOs Or ? Caught On Film Chathamkent In Southwestern, Ontario (Picture)

Posted: February 22, 2009

Date: February 14, 2009
Time: Daytime.

this is a photo that was taken on a landscape photo session that my sister does quite often. She does not know what to make of it but it does present some intriguing ?

This was taken from Chathamkent in southwestern Ontario. I've never seen something like this before except on TV and the internet, it may be nothing but then again we can't figure it out. It was taken on February 15 2009.

Additional Information:

Hi Brian, My sister was simply driving and taking photos, not really paying any attention. She discovered it when she viewed her pictures afterwards.
Nothing in any other frames before or after the photo was taken. She takes hundreds of pictures. I guess sooner or later something would show up kind of unexplainable. She said post it no problem.

Thank you to the person for sending in the report and thanks to his sister for allowing me to post the photo.

Nanaimo British Columbia Canada Aircraft Or UFO ?

Posted: February 16, 2009

Date: February 12, 2009
Time: Approx: 8:00 p.m.

Hi, On Friday evening I looked out to see an aircraft with a very bright red flashing light either on the starboard side (aren't the lights required to be green on the starboard side) or rotating all around. It proceeded west to east, quite low, and soon disappeared behind the houses and trees. As soon as it was gone I saw it's twin but very high overhead. I watched it "float" slowly east for about 5 minutes, with naked eye and binoculars. Not once did I see a green light on either side of it nor a white light on the tail as I believe is also required. Just a very bright flashing starboard or a very bright rotating red light, it was hard to determine which is correct. Finally it disappeared from view way off in the east, much further than I would normally be able to keep airplane lights in view. It also did not travel as fast as an airplane. I think helicopters are also required to show the green starboard, red port, and white tail lights for safety reasons.

I failed to notice the time but would guess it was before my 7:00 o'clock on line appointment or immediately after it, at 8:00 p.m. What did I see?

Thank you to the witness for their sighting report.

West Caledon Just South Of Orangeville, Ontario Saucer Or Diamond Shaped Object

Posted: November 2, 2008

Date: November 1, 2008
Time: 10:45 p.m.

Location of Sighting: west Caledon ON, just south of Orangeville
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Saucer or diamond shape.

Full Description of event/sighting: While watching TV in front of patio door, huge glowing object caught my attention. I called the wife over, turned TV off and we watched it cross our view for about 15 seconds. Object was travelling west to east, toward Aurora, and not changing in altitude, which I would estimate to be 5000 - 10000 feet. I would estimate speed at twice that of a jet, about 1000 mph. It appeared to be quite large, and we could make out a defined shape in the consistent white glow. My first impression, and my wife agrees, was a round saucer shape tilted forward 15-30 degrees. There was a glow to the rear which would also make it appear diamond shape like the other nearby report from last night ( we are 40 miles SW of Lake Simcoe.) From inside the house we did not hear any noise. Object was definitely too slow to be a meteor and was close enough that we could see a solid core in the glow, so I if 3 miles away, the size would be over 150 feet across.

Object must have been just south of Orangeville and the visibility was very clear with heavy jet traffic approaching Pearson Airport from the north. I would be really surprised if no one else saw this as it was so huge and in view for a long time. Immediately after observing the object, one of the jets made a dozen zig zag maneuvers, and turned his spotlights on, I think he was reacting to the object crossing his path, and then (I'm guessing) air traffic control started using another approach path as the jet traffic in my view immediately stopped. We were seeing a plane every 2 minutes, and then only one more followed the zig zagging one into Pearson.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

UFOs Over Ajax Or Pickering, Ontario Four To Five Bright Yellow Lights In A Cluster

October 18, 2008

Date: October 15, 2008
Time: 6:30 a.m.

Location of Sighting: Ajax, ON.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 4-5
Shape of objects: Bright Yellow Lights.

Full Description of event/sighting: My wife and I were driving west on Wentwentworth St., going towards Thickson Rs. Then I noticed 4-5 bright yellow lights moving around a tight cluster, then they would spread out a bit, then come together again. They were high in the sky and they were too close to be airplanes. Airplanes have additional red and green lights, so I knew that they were not airplanes and they were too high in the sky to be cars on the road in the distance. From what I could tell, they may have been over Ajax or Pickering. Then they came closer to the ground and then I got to work and could not see them anymore.

Thank you to the witness for their sighting report.

Kilbride, Newfoundland A Round Reddish Yellow Or Amber Light

Posted: October 6, 2008

Date: September 13, 2008
Time: 10:04 - 10:08 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 4
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Round, reddish-yellow, or amber light.
Weather Conditions: Clear, light wind, cool. All stars and the moon in perfect visibility.

Description: Couple pulls into their driveway and notices light, boyfriend, who is a pilot, observes that it is not a plane, or plane light as it does not have navigation light on, and is flying in an un-airplane like matter.

The couple then called out the boyfriends parents to observe the light, the light which had moved approximately one kilometer moving southeast. The light then stopped moving and hovered for about a minute before fading south.

The entire sighting lasted about 4 minutes from the time the couple noticed it, to it moving quickly away to the south.
