Flying Object Could Have Been A Helicopter

Mysterious object seen by several more people in Oceanside area.

The report of strange lights in the sky over Parksville last weekend could well have been a helicopter, says UFO researcher Brian Vike, except for one important detail.

The object, seen by two witnesses between 9:30 and 10:10 p.m. on Saturday, March 24 night, made no sound.

“When I originally posted this, a fellow in the area wrote and suggested it might possibly be a helicopter,” Vike said in an interview Tuesday. “He said there is a clearing near there where they take off and land — and the lights sound like normal navigation lights on some sort of aircraft — but what bothers me is them being right beneath it and not hearing anything at all. Helicopters have a very distinctive sound. You can’t miss it. It’s loud.”

The sighting was witnessed by three others in Qualicum Beach, who read about it in The News and subsequently contacted Vike.

“I was surprised to hear that others saw a similar object that my son, husband and I witnessed from our back patio,” said one witness. “It was really large, triangular-shaped, with bright coloured flashing lights and very high up to the right.”

The woman said the object appeared to be just over a mile away and there was no sound of a helicopter audible.

“It was definitely not a helicopter, since the flashing lights were far brighter than the market lights of any helicopter I have ever seen,” she said.

Another witness from Qualicum Beach said the object first appeared at around 7 p.m. over Mount Arrowsmith.

“We too saw strange lights on Saturday night,” the witness said. “We were looking at Mount Arrowsmith and saw lights moving up and down the mountain. They were at different altitudes, separated by what looked like, several hundred feet. We saw white and red lights moving and thought it was very strange.”

Vike said he has no explanation for the Parksville sighting, but he’s hopeful that either other witnesses or someone who knows the origin of the  lights will contact him at houstonbri7@gmail.com

Tiny Flying Saucer With Tiny Alien Critter And "The Day The Earth Stood Still" - Brian Vike (The Vike Factor)

Over the years I have met a lot of wonderful people who related their UFO experiences to me. A lot of these stories are nothing short of amazing and I did what I could do to find something on the cases.

Most of the time I came up short, but even then, I made some wonderful contacts in the media, police, airports, etc., who for a few cases passed along information which did go hand in hand with a case I was working on.

Then there were some others who sent along some really cool things they had made from scratch. In the picture below it shows me holding a little “Flying Saucer” with a tiny Alien critter, I just love this, been always sitting in from of me when working on cases.

5 To 6 Lights Flying In Formation Above Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania

Date: November 26, 2008

Time: 8:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Castlefin Rd., Bryn Mawr, PA. (Suburb of Philadelphia).

Number of witnesses: 2

Number of objects: 5-6

Shape of objects: Grouping of 5 to 6 very bright, perfectly round white lights moving close together in some sort of formation.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was in the car with my Dad, driving back to my parents house the night before Thanksgiving when, on a residential back road about a street away from their house I couldn't help but notice a grouping of 5 to 6 extremely bright white lights that appeared to be flying very close to the ground in close formation but at times the lights would group ever closer together. 

The street is heavily wooded but I had no problem following the lights until they all clumped together to make one light and just disappeared. 

My Dad who was driving saw it without even having to stop the car.

Unidentified Flying Object’s Course Plotted To Smithers

Scientists split: some argue it has a shiny nose, others even say it glows.

North American Air Defence Command (NORAD) has confirmed the Bulkley Valley is the projected touchdown point for an unidentified flying object Christmas morning.

At a press conference on Dec. 22, Smithers Deputy Mayor Gladys Atrill said she has been informed by NORAD the object will enter Bulkley Valley airspace at precisely 12:01 a.m. PDT tomorrow..

“We better watch out,” Atrill said. “This thing is coming to town.”

A highly-placed confidential source inside NORAD told The Interior News they have been monitoring the object since 1955 as it appears in the sky above the North Pole every year on Christmas Eve. The object moves too fast to be tracked by even the most nimble fighter jets, but now, using historical satellite data with the latest sophisticated algorithms, they have been able to precisely plot its course.

“We’re still at a loss to completely explain this phenomenon… it’s almost like it sees us when we’re sleeping and knows when we’re awake,” the NORAD source said. “But we’re very confident with our projections — the Bulkley Valley, the Hazeltons and Kispiox Valley are directly in its path.”

The only other thing known about the object is that infrared sensors on defence satellites have detected a small, but radiant heat signature at the front of the craft. For years scientists have debated the nature of the signature. Some argue the object simply has a very shiny nose, while others even say it glows.

After the NORAD notification, Atrill immediately convened a meeting of Bulkley Valley first responders and initiated what they are calling Operation Mistletoe.

Fire Chief Keith Stecko said Smithers Fire Rescue is ready and residents should not be too alarmed.

“This thing has been around for decades, but we haven’t seen any evidence it’s destructive,” he said. “However, it sounds like there may be a source of ignition associated with it, so we will be keeping an eye out for that.”

Smithers RCMP Staff Sgt. Terry Gillespie has also mobilized his force.

“Our officers are making lists and checking them twice,” he said. “We’re going to find out who’s naughty and nice, but so far it has been a silent night, there’s not a creature stirring.”

Brian Vike, a renowned ufologist in Houston, B.C., told The Interior News the annual phenomenon is well-documented, but governments have long kept it hidden from the public.

“Most of the stuff we see in the sky is explainable, but there are sightings that I cannot figure out, like this one. Usually it’s just one bright red light, but there’s a structure to it. It’s tracking very quickly across the sky and has a kind of comet spray behind it. Sometimes it comes to a hover, or it may make a wide loop around and drop down onto a rooftop. Some people have even reported hearing what they describe as a jolly laughing sound.“

Deputy Mayor Atrill appealed to residents to remain calm.

“We don’t anticipate it poses any threat,” she said. “I would just say, Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night.”

3 Orange Colored UFOs Flying Over George South Africa (Photo)

Location of Sighting: George, South Africa.

Number of witnesses: 4

Shape of Objects: Round (orange).

Full Description of Event/Sighting: My youngest daughter (12 years old) screamed out, that we must come and look outside because there was something orange in the sky. We saw 3 orange UFO's flying from behind the George Peak in the direction of the ocean. They weren't flying together. First the one UFO came, and then the other one, and then the third one.

The second and third UFO flew in the exact same direction as the first. One of the UFO's orange glow/light disappeared and we could see a round object. I couldn't believe what we were seeing.

There were no sound. It was not moving very fast. I did post 2 videos on You tube. The 2 videos were taken by my son and oldest daughter. (15 and 17 years old) I apologies for the lot of movement in the videos. We are all willing to go for lye detection tests to proof that we are telling the truth.

I have never believed in UFO's before, but after seeing what we saw, we are all believers. Kind greetings.

White Lights Changing Red Flying Through Clouds Over Starcross Devon UK

Unknown Lights Flying Over Port Hope Ontario

Time:  Evening.

These things still fly over Port Hope. I saw them 2 days ago and another on Canada day. It is not a helicopter and way to low to be a satellite. I’d doubt if it's anything from Trenton, because it's way to public, but there is an F-18 scramble base outside Picton and the U.S is pretty close.

A lot of these sightings seem to happen around Nuclear power and Radio active areas, This area is perfect for sightings in that way. I have never seen them do any crazy maneuvers though If it knocks out cell phones maybe it's some sort of surveillance plane.

Flying Saucer UFO Causes A Fog Cover On The Ground Kenosha Wisconsin

Time:  Evening.

Hi, I am (name removed) in Kenosha, Wisconsin and I reported a sighting. I was outside with my new Havanese Nate and a fog like ground cover came floating in and I looked up and was shocked out of my mind. 

There was what I described as a bent green bean of lights, red, yellow, green in the sky. I immediately ran inside the house. When I picked up the phone there was a noise like chopper blades in the phone. 

The next time I went outside I could see a round circle way up in the sky. 

I finally found a picture of what that green beam looked like.  I could not see anything underneath but the circular lights were the same.  Not the same color, but the same look.

Egg Shaped Object Flying Silently Over Bournemouth Dorset England UK

Date:  Around October of 2003

Time:  Between 9:00 - 9:30 p.m.

I have been fascinated by the subject of UFOs since I was a small child, I'm 24 now. Around October time of 2003, I happened to have a sighting. It was probably around 9:00 -9:30 pm. I was walking back from the shops to the block of flats where I lived with my mother at the time, when an egg shaped object flew above me. It moved without sound, point forwards, with a tail of light (maybe as long as the craft itself), south-east-south over the road and disappeared above the flats where I lived. 

There are a number of variables that make this sighting hard to describe. Its speed, I suppose, could be comparable to the speed of a jet plane when viewed from the ground, namely very slow but if this thing was flying at the same height as a plane then it was about the size of a football field.

You see the problem. If I make a guess at size, speed, or altitude then all other factors have to change accordingly. Added to this is the fact that it happened two years ago and it was a clear night (no clouds = no frame of reference). If I had to guess though I would say it was moving at around ten miles an hour and was the size of a school bus, maybe 75 feet high. 

My second problem is in actually describing the object itself. As I have already said it was egg shaped flying silently point forwards with a tail of light following behind it. It was the way it was lit that is hard to describe. It was seemingly lit from within, white/orange and white/yellow but it was not transparent. Maybe a better description would be than it seemed to be superheated.

It's my opinion that most of us, even those who want to believe are completely grounded in reality and not really well equipped to deal with events dubbed paranormal. I don't mean to say that we panic but that we have a hard time with acceptance. 

Maybe that's just me. As a result I have spent the last two years half doubting what I saw. You have to wonder how many people experience such things yet don't report them out of just such skepticism or fear of ridicule. Luckily I have faced no ridicule but I have faced incredulity from the people I have told. I can't blame them for this, I doubted myself after all.

This morning came like a wakeup call. What I saw was no conventional aircraft, it was not swamp gas, Venus, or streetlight reflecting of duck buts and pardon the expression, but if that was a comet or meteor then we would all be goofed right now.

What I saw was something else.

String Of Orange Lights Flying Over Coral Springs Florida

Date:  January 1, 2011 and July 10, 2011

Time:  Evening.

We are writing to let you know about orange lights we have seen over Coral Springs.

On January 1st, 2011, we saw a string of orange globe lights, at least 7, flying in a straight line in the sky over Wiles Road between Coral Springs Drive and 110th. 

They moved in north-northwest direction and faded then blinked out, one at a time in the same spot. There was no cloud cover that night.

Tonight, July 10th, 2011, we saw the lights again. This time they appeared individually, first a pair, one behind the other flying in the same pattern to the west.

The pair blinked and faded one at a time. About 30 seconds later, another followed the same pattern, followed by a fourth. This was in the same area in the sky behind our home over Wiles Road.

They are clearly not airplanes nor landing lights. They are distinctly orange with no blink. Thanks!

Orange Lights Spotted Flying Towards Torquay And Exeter UK

Date:  June 4, 2011 and June 11, 2011

Time:  11:00 p.m. and just before midnight.

Saturday June 4, 11:00pm, an orange light approached from the sea and turned across the coast towards Torquay. This was followed by two more orange lights which separated slightly, then the three of them gradually faded in the distance. 

Possibly helicopters, but the lights were steady, no flicker, and were still visible when they were travelling away.

Saturday 11 June, just before midnight, looking towards Exeter, seemed to be a searchlight from a height of about 500 feet, from a stationary point that swiveled one way then the other for about 5 minutes at least from the time I saw it.  Too high to be ground based, mostly hidden by low cloud, but always just visible.

Orange Ball Of Light Seen Flying Toward Carnew Ireland

Hello, sorry for my bad English. I'm Polish living in Gorey 5 years. Three times I saw the orange ball coming from the center toward the Carnew. 20.06.2011 Today my brother saw the same object. Unfortunately I do not have photos.

One time me my brother and his wife saw the object on April 22 around 22:30.

Orange Ball Of Light Flying Over Corona Del Mar Newport Beach California

Time:  Approxamtlty 11:35 p.m.

I saw a round, orange ball of light, like a large hot air balloon, traveling at the speed of an airplane, southeast to northwest.  It hovered over Corona del Mar nearly overhead, slightly to the southwest, for one minute, moving backwards slightly.

It then extinguished its central light, and continued on at the same speed to the northeast, which I could see through my binoculars. Clear skies, 68 degrees.

Multiple Sightings Of Flying Orange Balls Of Light Over Mansfield Woodhouse UK

I’m writing to you regarding the phenomenon of apparent orange globes in the skies over Mansfield Woodhouse. Not only have I seen these, but my friend too who was in fact the person who showed them to me.

The first sighting. I was at home at night, around may 2010 roughly 10:00 pm playing video games when he said over the microphone “those lights are back in the sky again” I was obviously confused and asked him what he meant, to which he replied “look out your window, near St.Edmunds church.”

I looked out of my window and there they were, at least 6 low flying orange balls, they must have been going around 60 miles per hour as it took them around a minute to pass from one side of my view to the other. This was the first sighting.

The second sighting of these occurred around one week after the first. I had told my parents that both I and my friend had witnessed something strange in the skies, which they abruptly  dismissed. That night I caught them at the corner of my eye myself.

They floated past my window, a good half mile away, around the same time, perhaps around 11:00pm. I quickly ran into my parents room and ushered them to the window, and were speechless, not being able to comprehend what they were seeing.

The third and final sighting came this year around June, after leaving my girlfriends house at around half past nine, i walked to the near by bus stop, as i was waiting i saw what i thought to be a plane, however the orange light (higher than what id previously seen) was not leaving a trail.

It also showed strange patterns of direction, showing that although it was traveling more or less overhead, it seemed to be drifting without a set course. I knew in particular that this was no ordinary thing as after watching this light for 10 minutes, missing the bus in order to do so, it disappeared, dimming like an ember.

Flying Saucer With Rotating Lights Seen Over Costa Mesa California

Time:  Around 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Shape of Objects: Thick round saucer.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I went outside for a cigarette and noticed a band of what seemed to be rotating lights. So I called one of my friends out, for a second opinion on what it could be. It was too slow to be a plane, definitely was not a helicopter, and was too small to be a blimp with scrolling letters.

I called out the rest of my friends to watch it with us, and they also couldn't explain it. Shortly after they came out, it disappeared behind some clouds. I will put a link to a picture of about what the dimensions were on it. It was this shape, but upside down.

It appeared to be slowly rotating with slowly changing colored lights, though in the beginning it seemed to be a solid color.

Brilliant White Flying Object Over Bray County Wicklow Ireland

Time:  Approxamtlty 11:30 p.m.

Hi, I would like to pass on the following account I have from a sighting I had last night 23/June/2011.

On Wednesday night I went out to the back garden for a ciggie at about 11:30. The sky was fairly clear could see plenty of stars etc., I looked up above myself and I could see a single white ball of light travelling from west to east. I continued to observe it for a few moments and then called out my girlfriend to make sure I wasn't seeing things.

She came out and remarked at how odd it was. We also noted that there isn't a direct flight path for planes from Dublin airport over the house. You can occasionally see some planes off in the far distance, but they are easily spotted due to the red and flashing beacon lights. This object just stayed solid brilliant white.

Then again last night I stepped outside for another ciggie at about 11:30. I was of course hoping to see something for a second night and I was in luck. From the south I spotted the exact same type if brilliant white light zipping across the sky at a remarkable pace.

I have never seen a plane in the far off distance cover this much ground so quickly. It vanished after about 1 minute as it had gone so high up into the sky it was literally impossible to see anymore. About thirty seconds after I had lost sight of this, I spotted another object coming from the south over some houses and then arced off towards the west. This one wasn't moving very quickly, just slowly across the sky with an altitude that never changed.

No doubt you will have the skeptics saying Chinese lanterns etc., but to me I cannot and nor can my girlfriend figure out what the heck we have witnessed. She has witnessed these lights over the house on a couple of occasions when out for a ciggie.

I tried to take a photo last night, but my phone couldn't pick out the ball of light. Will try and use my Digital SLR tonight and maybe try pick up a telescope later today as I used some binoculars last night to try and get a better view of these balls of light.

Through the binoculars they are just that extremely brilliant white balls of light, sometimes looking almost bullet like through the binoculars.

Bright Orange Light Flying Over Pennsylvania

Time:  Approxamtlty 10:00 p.m.

This past Saturday I was visiting my girlfriend's family in Pennsylvania. I'm not sure of the town right now. But it got to be late in the day, around 10:00 p.m. and we were in the driveway. We were setting off fireworks and looked to the sky in the distance and saw an orange light which looked to be hovering in the sky.

At first it looked like it was getting closer to us, but it never got much closer. The light started to fade slowly and then it was gone. We never heard any sound coming from it and we were all certain we had never seen anything like it before.

It hung around for about 3 or 4 minutes total. There were about 6 or 7 of us seeing it.

Bright Orange Light Flying Over Fife Scotland UK

Time:  Approxamtlty 9:00 p.m.

With it being fireworks night, surely plenty of people must have seen this bright orange light, travelling very quickly with no sound, nor aircraft navigation lights. Travelling North to South over Fife at approximately 9:00 p.m.

I was an aircraft engineer in the Navy, and this was not an aircraft that I know of...plus no flashing white, port or starboard navigation lights.
