Hey there, my husband came home tonight around 7:20 p.m. We live in Keswick, Ontario.
When he got out of the car he notice a bright flaming object low in the sky going up at a steady speed, not very fast.
He tried to take a picture, but the camera failed, so he ran in the house yelling at me to get out on the back deck. By the time I got out there, which wasn't much time at all, the object was very high, just below the clouds.
I will confirm that it was very fireball like. Although my husband could see what he thought appeared to be a parachute or sail above the flame when he first spotted it.
We watched it together for at least a couple minutes, it almost seemed to stay still for a while, then it disappeared into the clouds.
This is the second "fireball" we've seen in our 6 years in Keswick. The first was a few years ago, and fairly similar that it was obviously fire, but this one slowly moved across the sky from south to north and had almost a tail like you would expect to see on a comet.
It wasn't falling, it was just moving across the sky until it seemed to fade out. Four of us saw it on a Saturday night, about 3 years ago.
The fireball tonight, was in the eastern sky, and our location is approximately Biscayne Blvd and Queensway.
If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.
Also, please feel free to send in your sightings that have happened years ago. So many of these older sightings are nothing short of amazing.
