Red Disk Shaped UFO Spotted Flying Over Brampton Ontario

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date: July 17, 2010

Time: 4:25 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Brampton.

Number of witnesses: 2

Number of Objects: 1

Shape of Objects: Disk shaped.

I live in Sudbury, Ontario and I have also witnessed a rid disc UFO. Here is a copy of my accounts of the event:

I was just out driving my friend home who lives down the street from my house. As I turned onto my street something caught my eye. I looked up and saw what looked like a frisbee in the air and I didn't really think anything of it. Then I realized it was maybe a hundred or two hundred feet up and keeping a steady height. So instead of going home I followed it and saw that it was a red disc almost like one of those automated vacuum robots.

It was completely silent, I rolled down my window to hear it and it was pretty close over my head. It was probably only a few feet in diameter and it was traveling horizontally, not vertically meaning it was not a balloon.

It also didn't shake in the wind, it moved flawlessly but it wobbled as it flew, almost like when frisbee or disc is wobbling on the ground. What also caught my attention is that it was flying literally over the same streets and area as the only other UFO I've ever seen which I posted in this thread.

I am completely baffled at this one because when I saw it I figured it had to be fake but I ruled out every possible option as I was following it. There didn't seem to be any features on it. It was close enough so that I could tell it had a smooth red surface. I'm going to search red wobbling disc videos and pictures that look like it so I can give you guys an idea of what I'm talking about.

I lost it after about 45-60 seconds when I got to the bottom of the street because it was a dead end. I turned right to go to my friends house as I was calling him so it was behind me and when I stopped and got out to look for it I couldn't see it anymore but it would make sense because of it's size.

Yes I did think of taking pictures but no I didn't get any. That was actually the first thing I thought of and I was about to run home first to get my moms good camera but I didn't want to lose it so the only camera I had was my LG Rumor camera which is absolutely terrible and is actually the same camera took the terrible pictures in thread I linked to.

Although the disc was close enough and big enough in the sky so that it would have captured it but my memory was full and my battery was about to die so it unfortunately wouldn't let me take pictures...

I have been trying to find other cases of these red UFO's and I have also found two pictures which resemble the craft I saw except a different colour which coincidentally also was taken in Ontario, Canada.

I hope this helps with any investigations and if you find anything unusual or need me to clear anything up just write me.

Hi, I don't know if you are the right person to tell.

I live in a village called Kirknewton, just outside Livingston West Lothian.

At around 1:00 a.m. this morning, 10th July, my wife and I noticed bright orange flying lights in the sky. There was no noise and was approximately 30 of them.

After doing some Google research, this sighting has been seen before.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Smoky Dark Gray Triangle/UFO Flying Over New Westminster British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  April 16, 2007

Time:  10:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: New Westminster

Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Triangle.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was standing at my front window lighting a cigarette. I looked up and saw what I thought was a Very large gaggle of geese. Then I realized it was too dark too see them as white, and the V stayed consistent, so I looked closer.

It was coming from the north/east and over the corner of my building. It was then I realized what I thought was geese was actually lights. I saw the outline of a triangle, it was a smoky dark gray in color, and the lights were in a perfect V, not moving like geese do.

I ran to my back/bathroom door to see where it was going but by the time I got the door open I could no longer see it.

My first sighting was when I was 11 in California, my second sighting was in Vancouver, B.C. when I was 18 (reported that to the airport) then again in Langley B.C. 2 years ago, but they were all just far distant lights moving too fast to be planes or helicopters.

This was the first time I actually saw something that appeared to be a very large ship, about a city block big and flying lower than the airplanes.

This is not a joke, and nobody believes me.

Thank you to the witness for the interesting report.

A Flying V Shaped Craft/UFO Over New Westminster British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  Last Wednesday of July 2005

Time:  9:50 p.m.

Location of Sighting: New Westminster, BC.

Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: V.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was laying on a table looking up at the stars admiring them. I was in the south-western portion of New Westminster at a school, and these lights appear and there is no sound.

They look like lights along the inside edges of an indentation of a flying V.  But are very low to city. It was to my left and heading towards Port Moody. It struck me as so odd that I wrote it down on a piece of paper and drew what it looked like.

I might not have the piece of paper still, but I remember things pretty well, maybe not the exact time or date, but pretty close. I remember things by seeing them.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

7 Or 9 Lights Flying In A Perfect V Or Chevron Shape Mississauga Ontario

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  March 28, 2007

Time:  9:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Mississauga 15km SW of Toronto Intl Airport

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: 7 or 9 orange/yellow lights in a perfect chevron or triangle shape.

Full Description of event/sighting: On March 28, 2007 at approximately 9:30 p.m. my wife and I were outside in our backyard. I spotted what appeared to be 7 or 9 lights flying in a perfect V or chevron shape similar to how geese fly. There was one exact same light flying just to the right of the formation.  We both saw the objects heading north.

The lights were pale yellow/orange and did not blink or flash. The lights appeared to be about three times bigger than airplane lights but not as bright.

The flight path was smooth and consistent and took about 20 seconds to cross the sky. We live about 15km southwest of the airport and the object appeared to be higher than the low flying airplanes that are landing or taking off.  However, it was not as high as the planes flying very high overhead.

The object did not make any sounds as it passed.  It was a quiet, clear night with a half moon out. No airplanes were passing when it flew by. We could not see the bottom of aircraft, however I felt that it was darker than the background of the night sky.  My wife thought it was transparent.

The object could have been triangular with lights along two sides.  It is not known if the second single light off to the right was part of the main chevron. It moved exactly with the rest of the lights.

Thank you to the witness for the excellent report.

Two Lights/UFOs Flying In Tandem Interesting Maneuvers Mesa Arizona

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  Week of 9/11/2001.

Time:  Between 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Mesa AZ

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 2
Shape of objects: Two lights flying in tandem.

Full Description of event/sighting: It was the week of 9/11. My husband and I were out in the backyard looking at the sky over Phoenix. Air traffic was grounded and we were observing the night sky.

All at once two lights flying in tandem swooped in over the valley sky and did two loops around the valley. I ran to put the dogs in the house while my husband continued watching.

As I turned back around these lights did another big loop around the sky then took off to the west like those TV shows where they hit warp drive. If it was one object it was big. We couldn't see anything solid between the lights.

If you hold your hand out and put a light on your index finger and your pinkie finger then swoop that would be the idea. The whole sighting lasted about one minute.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

A Black Chevron Shaped Craft/UFO Flying Over Las Vegas Nevada (Photo)

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Hello Brian, I've sent you a sighting before from Las Vegas. I just thought you'd be interested in seeing this picture. I take photos of planes spraying, always hoping to catch other things. I did not see this when taking the photo and it's the only thing out of a whole roll that had anything 'else' in it.

Maybe with all the photos you get, you might have seen something like this before, I haven't. It reminds me of the 'thing' a bit, only bent.

PS - I sure hope this is the right picture, should be a black chevron shaped thing in it. I've been having a hell of a time trying to get this to you. My pc went down and now it doesn't work the same as before for pictures.

It's amazing the life out there. Thank you.

Thank you to the witness for the report and photo.

Classic Grey Flying Saucer/UFO 10 Miles South Of Ft. Hunter Liggett Army Base Jolon California

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date of Sighting: June 1998 (Approxamtlty)

Time of Sighting: around 9:30 pm

Location of Sighting: 10 mi south of Ft. Hunter Liggett Army Base, Jolon, CA

Number of witnesses: 2

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Saucer.

Full Description of event/sighting: At the time of the sighting my ex husband and I were living in the hills of the Central California coastal mountain range. My husband had mentioned that, the night before, he had seen a strange light on the horizon in the direction of the army base, and decided to go out on the next night and try to see if it came back. After being outside about 1/2 hour, he called me outside and handed me binoculars.

I saw what can only be described as a classic saucer grey, like two inverted saucers stuck together, and a row of lights around the middle. The lights blinked slowly off and on, and they were red, green or blue, and white.

This thing hovered low on the horizon, then shot off to the left in the blink of an eye and hovered there, then shot back and hovered, then turned on it's side, did some weird stuff (tip on it's side, then right itself again), and finally after about 5 minutes it slowly descended below the horizon.

Ft. Hunter Liggett Army base is an experimental testing base. I worked there for three years previously, and had seen things like the apache helicopters hovering still while shooting javelin missiles and whatnot, and this thing was not at all like anything I had previously seen on that base.

I thought at the time that the army had a working flying saucer and was testing it.  But I don't know, of course, and wasn't working there at the time of the sighting.

I have looked on the net and saw that there is an abduction story from a soldier stationed there in the late 60s.  It doesn't surprise me one bit.

Thank you to the witness for the interesting report.

Time:  12:48 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Flowery Branch, GA.

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Silver disc.

Full Description of event/sighting: We were parked in a parking lot during the day, while I noticed something in the clouds that was not an airplane, balloon, blimp, or helicopter.

It was a flying saucer that from a distance appeared to have something black in the middle. It was constantly shooting back and forth and stopping, while disappearing in between.

After watching this for two to three minutes the UFO disappeared into no where.

We Watched As The Flying Saucer Floated Beside Us Cranbrook British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Brian Vike’s Note: I am not exactly sure when this sighting took place, but will see if I can narrow down a time frame for this sighting. The reason why this is an important sighting is due to the fact that many witnessed observed a saucer shaped craft that landed at this airport the eyewitness speaks about some years back. So I will be checking into this and see if I can contact all of the folks who were involved.

I read a article on UFO in Kelowna, B.C. It was interesting. I have seen a UFO in the daytime about 150 to 200 feet in the air. It was a long time ago in Cranbrook, B.C..

We had been fishing at a place called Swanzies, a creek south of Cranbrook when my dog was run over and killed by a car. So we loaded the dog into the car and we all left drove back home. We got a shovel and drove to a dirt road that ran parallel to the old Cranbrook airport.

The airport was abandoned at the time not used anymore. While we were digging the hole for the dog to be buried, there was something reflecting sunlight back at us from behind. We didn't pay much attention to it until my Uncle said, what is that light ? Then he turned and said look.

We all turned and looked and in the sky was a saucer that was spinning and it looked like it was made of stainless steel. As it spun, it would wobble a bit and reflect sunlight at us just like a mirror. It was low enough that I could see grains in the metal hull as it spun. There were no windows, doors or any other markings on it and it did not spin perfectly, there was a wobble and ripples.

You could see ripples in the hull as it turned. We sat there and just looked at it for a few minutes and no one moved. I felt like running to it. As we were looking at it, it started to spin very fast and wobble in the sky then in a instant it moved higher in the sky and stopped. And then did it again, stopping much higher in the sky and then it spiraled upwards and disappeared.

It made no noise and soon after it disappeared in the sky there were 4 United States Airforce jets that came flying over head at a high rate of speed. Two green jets with the white star and two silver ones that were longer.

My uncle (name removed) was the first to see the saucer. My dad mom, my friend (name removed) and some of my uncles kids. My name is (name removed) and I haven't talked much about the encounter because people don't like to hear crazy stories, but since then I have had a great interest in UFOs. I know they are real, I seen one and for all I know we could have been in one, too.

We were there for about 15 minutes just looking at it as it floated beside us. (name removed) still lives in Cranbrook B.C. He and I have never talked about this again not even my family since the time it happened. We talked a bit for a few days and that has been it.

Thank you to the witness for the very interesting report.

Flying Saucer Shaped UFO Seen While Vacationing Barbados

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  1972

Time:  7:00 p.m.

Shape of objects: Round globe, flying saucer shaped.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was vacationing in Barbados 1972 and while sitting by the beach I noticed a orange/red light which I thought was an aircraft, however as it got closer I decided it was an alien object.

As it got closer to me it suddenly stopped, at which time it appeared to be about 2 feet in diameter. It stayed in that position for about 2 to 3 minutes and than it suddenly dropped which I figured about 20 feet.

It stayed in this position for again about 3 minutes when it suddenly took of to the left of me and disappeared. No witness and never mentioned it, only to my wife.

Some years later while watching a program on TV I saw the very thing which I had seen.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Glowing Cigar Shaped UFO Flying At Low Altitude Peach Mountain Pottsville Pennsylvania

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date of Sighting: September/October, 1964.

Time of Sighting: Early evening.

Location of Sighting: Peach Mountain, Pottsville, Pennsylvania.

Number of witnesses: 3

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Cigar Shape.

Full Description of event/sighting: When I was 6 years old my mother (36 years) and sister (8 years) were sitting at the kitchen table doing homework. It was a pleasant early fall evening and the leaves were off falling off the trees.

I looked up because of a bright light and saw a cigar shaped object fly by the kitchen window. This was strange because it was so close to our house. It was flying in between our house our neighbor's which was less than 50 yards away.

In order for the object to pass our window it had to be no more than 15 feet off the ground. Our house was on a hill so we were higher than our neighbor's. My mother, sister and I jumped up and ran out of our back door to watch it.

We actually ran with it for about 30 feet before my father called us back inside. My mother called The Pottsville Republican, our local newspaper, who told her it was just a comet or meteor.

My memory of all this is rather vivid. There was no noise what so ever and it was moving rather slowly about 8-10 miles per hour. It has a yellowish glow, it was not so bright that you couldn’t look right at it.

It did not look like the "typical" UFO pictures of flying saucers that you see. It moved along with the topography of the land, because we watched it move up over a hill as it disappeared over the horizon. This all lasted about 5 minutes and my mother and sister both have similar and distinct memories of the incident.

Thank you to the witnesses for the report.

Low Flying Oval Shaped UFO Surrounded By Rings Of Light Over Trail British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  December 22, 2004

Time:  Approximately 7:25 p.m.

The couple drove from Vancouver to Trail for Christmas with the fellows parents.

My girlfriend and I were standing outside of my parents home close to the well's pump house which is approximately 50 feet from the front side of their house.

We were waiting for my parents to return from picking up my other family member for the holidays. As I turned around and faced the house, I noticed a brilliant light coming from south, but traveling low and slow.

As we watched an object flew over the home and over top of us. We saw two rings of light rotating around an oval shaped craft. The first ring was made up of  a blue and yellow, and the second ring white and reds.

The light the object gave off lit up the entire area and it eventually descended out of sight behind the tree line and disappeared. We never saw it again.

The craft traveled to slow for it to be an airplane and we heard no sound at all. The object may have been approximately 40-50 feet in diameter and it's altitude was approximately 300 feet above ground.

My girlfriend was squishing my arm as she was so frightened. Needless to say, we had quite the story to tell my parents when they arrived back home.

Thank you to the witness for his report.

Witnesses Drive Underneath Hovering Metallic Classic Flying Saucer Shaped UFO Salem Oregon

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  August 2, 2002

Time:  Approximately: 9.10 p.m.

Message: Dear Mr. Vike, I wanted to describe two UFO spotting's which I have witnessed.

The first came on August 2, 2002, at around 9.10 p.m. approximately 2 miles south of Salem, Oregon nearly directly over I-5, the main north-south freeway on the US west coast.

It was nearly twilight on a Friday or Saturday evening on a perfect summer evening. I was in the passenger seat with my wife driving south on I-5, and as we came over a hill we both saw a bright metallic object move very quickly from southeast to northwest an estimated 1 mile ahead.

My wife jokingly pointed and said "look, a UFO" just as it disappeared from view as we went down the hill. It was out of view maybe 5 seconds.

As we drove over the next hill suddenly there it was almost directly in front of us. A metallic classic saucer shape, seemingly hovering motionless right off the freeway.

My initial reaction was to estimate distances, about 100 feet east of I-5, about 400-500 feet in the air.

We drove almost directly underneath it, and I could see bright red lights and a distinct edge of a round opening on the underside. I immediately asked my wife to pull over, but the shoulder of the freeway was very narrow, and she said no.

I then said 'go to the next exit and turn around, which she did, the whole time with me looking backward and saying 'faster, faster'. The next exit was about 3/4 of a mile ahead, and we turned off and went back the other direction, about 50 seconds total (I timed it). But it was gone, nowhere to be seen. Literally scores of cars drove past the spot during the time it was visible, and I can't believe we were the only ones who saw it.

Thank you to the witness for the interesting report.

Silver Saucer Shaped UFO And Missing Time Experience Royalton Ohio

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  June 14 ,1973

Time:  11:00 a.m.

Number of witnesses: 1

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Saucer

Full Description of event/sighting:  This is a missing time event. I was around 15 years old at this time, and I was coming back from a friends house, which was about a mile away from my house as the crow flies. I always cut through a stretch of sparse woods to get to, and return from this friends house, and this day wasn't any different.

I always cut in at this spot in the woods where there was a path that went through, and ended up coming out right past my aunt, and uncle's house where they're woods sits right in back of they're house. The path then continues right on down another 300 or so yards into my mom, and dad's back yard. This information is all needed to tell you what happened.

After I made my cut through the woods to get to my house, I had walked about 100 yards when I started getting a buzzing sound around my head, which was fairly normal in the woods as there were bees around, but this buzzing sound, it occurred to me it wasn’t like a sound made by a bee.

It was about that time that I noticed, off to my right about 30 feet and up about 15 feet was a silver disc, or saucer shaped object. I was scared, but I figured that as long as I didn't look directly at it, that it may not bother me.

I figured that it had let me walk this far up on it without doing anything to me, so maybe it would let me walk on by it at that point. God knows I was scared though, I was only 15.

I looked real close at it out of the corner of my eye because I wanted to remember detail of this thing . It was no bigger that 10 feet across, and probably closer to 8 feet.

It might have been around 4 feet high in the very middle. At that point ( as I was looking at it ) I had a feeling that they knew I was looking at it, so I continued another 10 - 15 feet to where the path made a turn around a wild apple tree ( in which they were then on the other side of ) and I took off at a dead sprint, faster than I had "ever" ran before! I was weaving from side to side, all the while thinking they were right behind me, and therefore feeling that I was running for my life.

I made it about 100 yards down through the small trees 15 - 20 feet high, to a fence that I usually had to climb over to get on down the path, and jumped, and cleared the fence with no trouble at all.

At this point I was in my Aunt, and Uncle's woods and immediately shot straight toward their house, and at that very moment I found myself standing at the other end of my aunt, and uncle's woods staring straight at a small tree, and being told that it was ok now that I could move now, and did I want to see him (the voice sounded male) I said no, and the voice said not to talk, that if I only though what I wanted to say that it could understand me.

That’s when I thought ok, and it said ok that's perfect (this voice was spoken in the absolute clearest voice I have ever been witness to) Then this voice said why won't you look at me, and I said, I'm afraid I will be scared if I look. It said it understood. That's when I said I don't want to be here like this, and it said that it would be alright, and I would not be hurt in any way, and at that point I felt relaxed, and was able to communicate, but that's where it gets sketchy, because I don't remember a lot of what the conversation was. I do know that when the conversation was over, and I turned around to walk on home, I was no longer afraid of them, but I did actually pinch myself real hard, to make sure it was not a dream. It hurt so it was not a dream ! lol

After I got home, and I walked up to the back door, my mom met me there, and she was not happy. She said, where have you been? You were supposed to be here 4 hours ago. Needless to say I was in dire straits on that one, but I didn't really know what to say because I knew she wouldn't believe me telling her the truth, but I tried to tell her anyway, and all she had to say was, yeah right !

So, I went straight in and went to bed because for some reason I was dead tired, and that was very out of the norm for me as I was an athlete in school, I played all the sports they let me play.

Well, there's my story. It's something that I've kept pretty much to myself since it happened, for obvious reasons, and those being that I know how a lot of people think about these things, and didn't want to be made a spectacle of, but now I would welcome a chance to be hypnotized because I know that there is a lot more to my story, and I now, at the age of 47, want to know what happened to me on that day.

So please feel free to contact me, and I will fill you in more on what was said by that alien that day, as far as I can remember.

Thank you to the witness for the fascinating report.

Large Hovering Flying V Shaped UFO Over Santa Cruz County Aptos California

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  Approximately 1984, late winter.

Time:  Not known

Approximately 1984, late winter, Aptos California, Santa Cruz County.  I was heading, I believe west in the Rio Del Mar section on Clubhouse Drive with 3 housemates.

Through my driver side window on the left, a large flying V was flying westward, over a house. It was brown in color with an approximately an 80 - 100 foot wingspan (maybe larger), and was flying at an altitude of approximately 80 - 100 feet.

The craft was moving at maybe 3-5 MPH, and from the wings and belly of the craft were white spotlights that were panning the house and ground underneath. I slowed my Land Cruiser down to watch, but didn't say a word to my passengers because it was just too weird.

At one point I decided to myself that it had to be a military stealth bomber, which had just been brought forward in the media as experimental aircraft. Moments later I realized that it could only be a UFO because it was hovering so slowly.

I watched for about 20 seconds or so, and it kind of disappeared when it reached a 45% angle in the sky.

Have there been any similar reported cases during this time period and in this geographical area?

Thanks.

Thank you to the witness for the interesting report.

Huge Disk Shaped UFO Hovering At Eye Level Toronto Ontario

This sighting report was never posted !

Date:  March 1981

Time:  11:00 p.m.

Number of Objects:  1

Shape of Objects:  Disk shaped.

Colour of Object:  Two tone silver.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Good evening, in March, 1981 my mother and I had a very unusual and very real UFO experience.

The back story to this is that I was 15 years old and 9 months pregnant. I was at boarding school that year and was staying with my Mom at the Sutton Place Hotel over the March break.

I was sitting with my back to the big bay window in the living room (we were on the 23rd floor). My mother was seated facing the window. All of a sudden my mom asked me to turn around as she was staring out the window.

We got up off the couches and stood at the large window looking out. There right in front of us was a huge disk suspended at our eye level, so close we could have touched it had we been outside. The window separated us and the disk.

It was two tone grey with a band of rotating light around the belly. We could see detail on the disk, it was that close. It has a smaller dome shaped point at the top of it. It was silent and hovering (no movement). It was eyelevel with us and it was as if it was looking back at us, however there were no windows that we could see.

My mom and stood there for approxamtlty 10 minutes pinching ourselves because we were so confused about what we were seeing. This was downtown Toronto amongst high rises.

It was incredible, we never felt afraid, just curious. All of a sudden the disk shoots across the sky and within seconds is a small light sitting over lake Ontario before disappearing.

The first thing we did was call the front desk of the hotel, they had no report of a sighting. Then we called the radio station, again, no report of a sighting. It was as if my mom and I had been the only ones who saw it and yet this was downtown Toronto amongst high rises and thousands of people walking and driving the streets of Toronto.

I went into labor a day later and gave birth to a baby boy whom I gave up for adoption. I’ve often wondered if my pregnancy had anything to do with this sighting. Were they interested in me because I was ready to give birth? I have no idea, but it has always haunted my mother and I. And another aspect of this story is that my mom and I have different accounts of what time this happen.

That’s our only discrepancy with the sighting. I swear it was approxamtlty 11:00 p.m. because I have a vivid memory of Johnny Carson being on the TV. My mother however swears it was dusk, approxamtlty 5: 30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. We still to this day disagree on the time however everything else about our sighting is identical when we recall it.

Thank you to the eyewitness for their report.

Landed Flying Saucer With Greenish Haze Surrounding It At Scranton Pennsylvania

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  1968 - 1969

Brian Vike’s Note: I telephoned the lady who filed this report to me and we had a long and very nice conversation. She went onto tell me about a Black Triangle sighting she and her husband were witness to. This huge craft flew slowly over the road and above their vehicle.

Other people pulled their cars over and stopped on the road to watch this same craft. The lady, who's name is Judy also did a telephone interview with me for the radio show I host and this will be aired this coming Sunday, April 15, 2007.

So tune in, a very interesting report. Also I would like to make a request that if anyone knows of the a person holding these photos, or anyone who knows anything about this sighting would they please contact me here at brian_vike@telus.net

Hi, I don't know why I have ever reported this before, probably because I am not in touch with the student involved nor do I have the pictures. This happened in a community college English course where I was trying (as we teachers do) to drum up some interest in anything to a group of listless students.  So, I started talking about UFO's.

I saw several boys in the back row poking one of their group and saying "tell her." So, I asked him and after some coaxing he told this amazing story:  His hobby was photography and he had a number of cameras.

On this occasion he and some buddies had gone to visit his sister at her college near Wilkes Barre, Pa. (Having grown up in the Scranton area, I was familiar with the locale.)  As they were fooling around in the nearby woods they came upon a landed flying saucer.  As he had two cameras with him, one of which had a telephoto lens, he started taking pictures. Several of the other fellows started throwing rocks at it.  The rocks made a "ping" when they hit.

They then became frightened and ran off.  When he came home he sent the pictures off to Eastman Kodak to be processed. These were color photos which he did not have the equipment to process.  Eastman Kodak returned on two or three of the shots with a letter explaining that such photos were routinely confiscated and if he wished further information he should contact the Dept. of Defense.  (His sister did so but got no response.)

Anyway, I asked if I could see the pictures. He seemed reluctant, but he brought them in.  WOW.  The pictures showed very clearly an oval shaped "craft apparently of polished aluminum with a greenish haze around it.

I have never to this day seen any pictures as clear cut or as close as this was. The student told me that the haze was actually blue to the sight but came out as green.  He took the pictures home. When several other teachers expressed interest, I asked him if he could bring them in again.

He was obviously so uncomfortable that I apologized and dropped the subject. Unfortunately he dropped out of the class. I hope this incident was not the cause. I don't know whether this is  of any interest or not, but I can assure you that when I see the currently available pictures of UFOs  I have to laugh. This was the real thing.  (Retired English Professor, Suffolk Community College, Seldon, L.I.)  Currently living in N.Ft. Myers, Fl.

Additional Information:

Hi and thanks for your interest.  I would be happy to make a drawing but being an old lady (76) my knowledge of computer technology is elementary. I don't know how to send a picture, but the pictures were beautiful.

The "craft" was a slightly elongated egg or oval shape. The metallic surface, like polished aluminum or steel, was quite lovely. And the greenish haze that surrounded it was breathtaking. I do not recall any markings or detail. It was apparently resting on the ground, or very close to it. Yes, I would be glad to talk to you about the sighting or any other info I might have.

I regret that I didn't report this at the time, but in that time period  there really weren't too many serious UFO students. If you are interested, my husband and I drove directly under one of the famous Hudson Valley craft that was written up by Hynek.

My husband had a private pilot's license (and had been in the Naval Air Corps) and we can assure anyone that this was no extra-light plane.  I have followed the UFO scene over the years but just as an observer not as an active participant and certainly not as a groupie. Anyway, thanks for your kind interest and yes, I'd be happy to contribute whatever I can. Regards.

Thank you to Judy for the very interesting report and also for taking the time to speak to me on the telephone.

Pilot And Ground Flaggers Observe A Little Flat Flying Football Shaped UFO Over Tranquillity California

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Brian Vike’s Note: There are thousands of aircraft flights each and everyday, if carrying passengers, cargo or military flights of some type. With so many flights taking place each and everyday we are lucky if we hear a small fraction of unidentified UFO reports from pilots. Sightings of unknown objects are being witnessed each and everyday by ground observers, but yet we don't receive all that many pilot reports.

I would like to request that if any pilots who have been witness to something they weren't able to explain while flying an aircraft, would you please be so kind as to relate the information, or your sighting report to me.

Please keep in mind that any and all personal information will be respected and will remain private. I will not post names, emails or anything else that you would consider personal. So if a pilot has been witness to a UFO sighting, please do write to me, Brian Vike – Director Kamloops British Columbia Canada UFO Research at brian_vike@telus.net and by using this email address I will be the only person reading your mail. Thank you, Brian.

In the summer of 1978 I was flying for a crop dusting operation near Tranquillity, California. At that time I had been a duster pilot for over sixteen years, and flying nights since 1965. In central California during the summer months, certain fields are treated after dark, mainly to protect workers and honeybees from exposure to AG chemicals.

On the early morning of 28 July, just before 3:00 a.m., I was sitting in the cockpit of my airplane, a Rockwell Thrush Commander. The aircraft was parked, with it’s engine shut down and all interior and exterior lights off, at the south end of a one-half mile dirt runway, located about five miles southwest of Mendota, a small town in the San Joaquin Valley about thirty miles west of Fresno. The Thrush was lined up with the runway, facing due north.

I had just finished spraying a quarter-section cotton field, and was getting ready to spray another. My two girl flaggers were already in place on the field I was about to treat, and my loader was busy mixing a batch of pesticide to be applied on it.

It was a calm, cloudless night, typical of midsummer in the San Joaquin Valley. The air temperature at ground level was around seventy degrees, and the visibility was good. Although I was somewhat tired, I was not at all sleepy. I had drunk several cups of coffee from my thermos during the previous six hours, and I have always been sensitive to caffeine as a stimulant.

As I sat in the cockpit, waiting for the first load to be pumped into the hopper tank, I glanced over to my right at the crescent moon rising in the east, and then turned back to again face north. At this time, I noticed a dim, diffused orange glow, low in the sky to the northwest, about forty-five degrees to the left of the aircraft nose.

My first thought was that a house, barn, or other nearby ranch building had caught fire, but I discarded that possibility almost immediately. I knew the area quite well (an absolute necessity for safe night AG flying) and the glow was in the direction of the field that I was about to spray. I had flown this same field several times before, and knew there were no buildings in the immediate vicinity. I decided that if it was a fire, it had to be much farther away.

This possibility was discarded a few seconds later, when the orange glow began to slowly rise. When it was about thirty degrees above the horizon, it started moving toward the east.

At first this movement was quite slow, but within a few seconds, it speeded up. The glow then began to take on an elongated form, markedly longer in the vertical plane than in the horizontal. It reminded me of a segment of searchlight beam, except that the entire light column moved laterally, while oriented nearly straight up and down, rather than in a radius around a fixed light source. The length of the column seemed to be about ten to twenty degrees of vertical sky coverage.

As the light column passed through due north, straight ahead over the airplane nose, it continued accelerating and becoming  brighter. I then realized that I was viewing something that was totally different from my many other nighttime sightings of missile launches, satellites, planets, and other aircraft.

I yelled for my loader to look, but the noise of the mix rig engine drowned out my voice, and because his attention was focused on opening cans of pesticide on the opposite side of the mix tank, he didn't see my frantic signals. I climbed out of the cockpit onto the left wing, planning to jump down and run around the trailer to alert him. Then I had the thought that if I did, I might miss a vital part of the display, so I remained standing on the wing.

After passing abeam of the runway end, the object continued accelerating for a short time, perhaps five to ten seconds. It then climbed slightly, and at the same time abruptly slowed. During this phase the glow was becoming brighter, while the vertical beam was shortening, forming itself into a more compact mass of light.

At about forty-five degrees off to my right, the object, now considerably brighter, and resembling a glowing ball, came to a stop for several seconds. It then reversed course, and once again began moving, this time back to the west.

Several seconds after starting it’s westward movement, and without slowing, the ball of light instantly assumed the shape of a well-defined, flattened sphere with pointed ends, which emitted a steady orange glow. At this time it began a shallow descent, gathering speed and leveling out around twenty degrees above the horizon. It flew with it’s pointed ends parallel to the ground. From my position, the size of the object looked to be about that of a large pea or small marble when held at arms length.

When the glowing, flattened sphere was directly over the Thrush's nose, it abruptly halted, going from a high rate of speed to a dead stop almost instantaneously. It remained stationary for no more than a few seconds - five at the most. Although this would have been the best opportunity to determine the object's true size, I was unable to make an estimate, since it’s distance from me was unknown. On the report which I later submitted, I placed it at one to three miles away, but that distance is highly speculative.

After its momentary halt, the object again accelerated. Within a few seconds it had resumed its previous high speed, but appeared to have turned ninety degrees, and was now climbing directly away from me at a very steep angle. Its heading was due north, and as it rose, it attained what looked to be the highest speed reached during the entire time it had been in view.

Because of the unknown size and distance of the object, and the fact that it was climbing at an angle directly away from me, this speed was impossible to estimate accurately. Judging from the rate at which it seemed to grow smaller though, it looked to be travelling about three to five times faster than a jet airliner at an altitude of around thirty thousand feet, as seen from the ground.

During this climb, the object also reached its maximum brightness, only very slightly less than that of the crescent moon. As it continued to rise, it began to dim. It finally vanished from my sight high above the horizon (about sixty to seventy degrees), over the glow of the lights of Firebaugh, another small town about 12 miles due north of my position.

The total time which the object remained in view, from my first sighting of the diffused mass of light until the final disappearance of the flattened sphere, seemed to be about 40-50 seconds, but an accurate estimate is quite difficult. It could have been somewhat shorter, but almost certainly wasn't longer.

Throughout the episode, I remained relatively calm, but was filled with awe when I realized that I had just witnessed a phenomenon about which I had previously only read, and, up to that time, was not at all certain actually existed.

As soon as the object disappeared, I jumped off the wing and asked my loader if he had seen anything. He had not, and when I told him what I had witnessed, he was disappointed, to say the least. He finished mixing the batch of pesticide, and I sprayed four loads on the field. I then sprayed another quarter-section located northeast of the strip without further incident.

After returning to Tranquillity, I sought out my two flaggers, and asked them if they had seen anything unusual the previous night. They were both very evasive and reluctant to answer my questions, and kept trying to change the subject. I finally got them to admit that they had also seen the object. Their view of it had been better than my own, since they described it as somewhat larger and brighter than it had appeared from my location. From this, I estimated that they were closer to it than I had been, although it had still remained to the north of them.

With further questioning, the fact emerged that they had also seen the same object on the previous two nights, while flagging for another pilot. The girls described it very aptly as "a little, flat, flying football." They had told no one else of these previous sightings, and remained very reluctant to discuss them with me. I later talked with the other pilot, who stated that he had seen nothing out of the ordinary on either night.

Several nights later, at around midnight, I was in the air, returning to Tranquillity from the western edge of the valley. I was heading almost due east, flying at about five hundred feet. Suddenly, to the south, just off my right wing, at what seemed to be considerable distance away, I again sighted a column of diffused light. This time, the glow was more yellowish than orange. It appeared to move very slowly to the west, and I waited for a few seconds to see if another bright, oval shape would materialize from it. This did not occur. I then turned the airplane toward the light column, and flashed my two field lights of six hundred watts each. It immediately disappeared, and I saw no further evidence of the phenomenon.

A few days afterward, I wrote to the National Investigative Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP), and reported the first sighting. Since the second light column had seemed rather far away, and was visible for only a short time, I didn't mention it. I later made out a NICAP report form and returned it. There was no reply from the organization, and I later learned that NICAP became non-operational the next year.

That sighting of 28 July made a very deep and lasting impression. I can still see the glowing orange, flattened sphere as vividly in my mind as it appeared on that early morning many years ago. I have no doubt that the device (or whatever it was) was real - there is absolutely no way that it could have been a product of my imagination. Twelve years previously, I had flown in the Sudan with some AG pilots who mentioned seeing somewhat similar objects in Arkansas and Florida.

Around that same time, many persons in the Mendota-Tranquillity area claimed to have seen, over a period of several nights, a gigantic, black object, with strange, multi-colored flashing lights. It moved slowly, making no sound, and was so huge that it obscured a significant portion of the night sky. (This fits the "mother ship" description of which I later read in various UFO accounts.) I never saw this vehicle, so I can't verify its existence, but it was the talk of all of the little towns on the west side of the San Joaquin Valley for many weeks afterward.

Over the years, I have seen two other unusual objects during night AG flying operations in the same general area. I once observed a bright blue light descend slowly to the ground from a high altitude, and watched, for a minute or so, a group of several bright white lights in a perfect "L" formation. They were flying very high and very fast, much faster than any known conventional aircraft. Neither of these incidents had the visual and psychological impact of the 1978 sighting however.

As I write this, I have spent over 35 years in agricultural aviation, and accumulated more than eleven thousand hours of AG flying time, several thousand of these at night. During the many thousands of hours I have spent outdoors after dark, I have seen hundreds of satellites, about thirty missile launches from Vandenberg AFB, all of the visible planets under widely varying sky conditions, and many thousands of military and civilian aircraft in all modes of flight. What I saw on that early July morning was totally unlike anything else I have ever observed in the night sky.

Since then, I have read hundreds of books dealing with all aspects of UFOs. Many of them contain accounts that are inconsistent and contradictory, while others are obviously outright fantasy. A few, however, seem to be authentic. Unlike most other UFO researchers, my search for the truth behind the many thousands of documented appearances of these phenomena is driven by the certain knowledge that they in fact exist.

To date, despite many years of research, I am still unable to form a definite opinion as to the substance and meaning of these mysterious and logic-defying objects. I hope, however, to somehow correlate the mass of at-times conflicting information, and determine their true origin and purpose, before I make that last flight West.

END.

After the above article was first published the witness received a letter from a 25,000 hour commercial pilot who had sighted what was essentially the same phenomenon on a night in January of 1978, six months before my own experience.

He was on a charter flight with several passengers aboard and cruising at 8500 feet when, at about 9:00 p.m., he looked to the west of his course and saw a similar cycle of light begin. He started to turn toward it to get a better view, but his passengers had no desire whatever to get any closer…they became quite agitated and “strongly objected,” so he reluctantly turned away from the spectacle so as to calm them down. By the time he got back on his original heading, the light show was over. He also mentioned that he had seen a flight of “silvery disks” somewhere over north central Washington sometime in the 1950’s.

(Removed by Brian Vike) also got a letter from a distinguished professor at a northern California university, who dismissed my sighting as “only the aurora borealis, or northern lights.” I have seen the northern lights a number of times. Once, when they were exceptionally strong, they even appeared on the horizon in southern California. Of course, they bear no resemblance whatever to what I saw in the sky that morning, and anyone reading the article who has also seen the northern lights should have been able to comprehend that there was a vast difference between them. Some professor! Some aurora borealis!

Since the article first appeared, I have had one more sighting of something that remains unexplained in my mind. My wife also saw it, and is likewise at a loss to explain it.

On an early summer evening, we were lying on our backs on a lawn, watching the passage of the linked space shuttle/space station as they passed overhead. It was a very bright object, and had appeared exactly at the time forecast.

About 15 seconds after it had passed directly above us, we saw a bright white, flashing light on approximately the same track as the linked vehicles, but some distance behind them. It was nearly directly overhead also. The light didn’t move in the same direction however. Instead, it flashed, disappeared, and then flashed again in another location some distance away from its original position. This cycle repeated itself about five or six times, with the light appearing at a different part of the sky each time, then the object disappeared.

I mailed an account of this sighting to the National Aviation Reporting Center on Anomalous Phenomena, an organization which gathers reports of unexplained aerial object sighting from all over the world. They mostly come from airline pilots. The reply stated that this same “flashing, disappearing/reappearing light” was one of the most common objects reported by a large number of pilots, none of whom were able to explain it. Neither was NARCAP.

Although I have been searching for 40 years, I myself am no wiser as to the origin or purpose of these various unidentified flying objects which are being reported with increasing frequency all over the world. However, since there is nothing in the universe that is “supernatural,” I am convinced that they are a part of some larger phenomena yet to be discovered.

An Unexplained Sighting Over Northern Alabama

(Published in - Removed by Brian Vike - September 1995 as sidebar to "A Little Flat Flying Football")

Whenever I travel by airline, I always try to get a window seat, because I like to look out on the ever-changing clouds and sky and watch the ground passing below. Thus, on 21 April 1994, at approximately 1310 EDT, I was in the rearmost right window seat of a Delta Lockheed L-1011. The aircraft was nearly full of passengers, heading west/northwest on a flight from Atlanta to Salt Lake City.

We were in a climb to cruising altitude, passing through approximately 18/20,000 feet, when I suddenly saw, almost directly below, two seemingly circular bright, glowing white objects, with no visible wings or tail surfaces, moving toward the northeast at a very high speed. I spotted them just after they had passed under the airplane.

Because I have no knowledge of their size, or their distance from the aircraft, it's hard to say how far below they actually were, or at what speed they were traveling. I can tell you that they were moving very fast though...much faster than the fastest military fighter aircraft would be capable of flying, especially at that relatively low altitude.

Besides that, with only a few exceptions for test and tactical ranges in several of the western states, supersonic flight is forbidden over the continental US, and these machines were traveling at a speed which was obviously much higher than the speed of sound would have been at that altitude. And of course all military aircraft of all the services are now coated with either radar-absorptive or camouflage paint, and thus are either a uniform dull grey or a dull gray/green mottled color combination.

Although these objects were flying together, they were not in a close formation, such as tactical military aircraft would normally be, but approximately 3-5 degrees apart. As they moved away below, they seemed to drift a little farther away from each other.

I watched them disappear in the distance, and then looked forward along the row of seats to see if anyone ahead of me was pointing, gesturing, or giving some indication that they had also seen the objects. No one was...all of the other passengers had the window shades down and were watching some dumb Whoopee Goldberg movie. Evidently I was the only one looking out the window.

While this didn't have the same impact as my previous sighting of July 1978, it was still an exciting experience. I only wish I had seen an indication that someone else on that airplane had sighted the machines...or whatever they were.

Thank you to the eyewitnesses for their excellent reporting.
