Pilot And Ground Flaggers Observe A Little Flat Flying Football Shaped UFO Over Tranquillity California

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Brian Vike’s Note: There are thousands of aircraft flights each and everyday, if carrying passengers, cargo or military flights of some type. With so many flights taking place each and everyday we are lucky if we hear a small fraction of unidentified UFO reports from pilots. Sightings of unknown objects are being witnessed each and everyday by ground observers, but yet we don't receive all that many pilot reports.

I would like to request that if any pilots who have been witness to something they weren't able to explain while flying an aircraft, would you please be so kind as to relate the information, or your sighting report to me.

Please keep in mind that any and all personal information will be respected and will remain private. I will not post names, emails or anything else that you would consider personal. So if a pilot has been witness to a UFO sighting, please do write to me, Brian Vike – Director Kamloops British Columbia Canada UFO Research at brian_vike@telus.net and by using this email address I will be the only person reading your mail. Thank you, Brian.

In the summer of 1978 I was flying for a crop dusting operation near Tranquillity, California. At that time I had been a duster pilot for over sixteen years, and flying nights since 1965. In central California during the summer months, certain fields are treated after dark, mainly to protect workers and honeybees from exposure to AG chemicals.

On the early morning of 28 July, just before 3:00 a.m., I was sitting in the cockpit of my airplane, a Rockwell Thrush Commander. The aircraft was parked, with it’s engine shut down and all interior and exterior lights off, at the south end of a one-half mile dirt runway, located about five miles southwest of Mendota, a small town in the San Joaquin Valley about thirty miles west of Fresno. The Thrush was lined up with the runway, facing due north.

I had just finished spraying a quarter-section cotton field, and was getting ready to spray another. My two girl flaggers were already in place on the field I was about to treat, and my loader was busy mixing a batch of pesticide to be applied on it.

It was a calm, cloudless night, typical of midsummer in the San Joaquin Valley. The air temperature at ground level was around seventy degrees, and the visibility was good. Although I was somewhat tired, I was not at all sleepy. I had drunk several cups of coffee from my thermos during the previous six hours, and I have always been sensitive to caffeine as a stimulant.

As I sat in the cockpit, waiting for the first load to be pumped into the hopper tank, I glanced over to my right at the crescent moon rising in the east, and then turned back to again face north. At this time, I noticed a dim, diffused orange glow, low in the sky to the northwest, about forty-five degrees to the left of the aircraft nose.

My first thought was that a house, barn, or other nearby ranch building had caught fire, but I discarded that possibility almost immediately. I knew the area quite well (an absolute necessity for safe night AG flying) and the glow was in the direction of the field that I was about to spray. I had flown this same field several times before, and knew there were no buildings in the immediate vicinity. I decided that if it was a fire, it had to be much farther away.

This possibility was discarded a few seconds later, when the orange glow began to slowly rise. When it was about thirty degrees above the horizon, it started moving toward the east.

At first this movement was quite slow, but within a few seconds, it speeded up. The glow then began to take on an elongated form, markedly longer in the vertical plane than in the horizontal. It reminded me of a segment of searchlight beam, except that the entire light column moved laterally, while oriented nearly straight up and down, rather than in a radius around a fixed light source. The length of the column seemed to be about ten to twenty degrees of vertical sky coverage.

As the light column passed through due north, straight ahead over the airplane nose, it continued accelerating and becoming  brighter. I then realized that I was viewing something that was totally different from my many other nighttime sightings of missile launches, satellites, planets, and other aircraft.

I yelled for my loader to look, but the noise of the mix rig engine drowned out my voice, and because his attention was focused on opening cans of pesticide on the opposite side of the mix tank, he didn't see my frantic signals. I climbed out of the cockpit onto the left wing, planning to jump down and run around the trailer to alert him. Then I had the thought that if I did, I might miss a vital part of the display, so I remained standing on the wing.

After passing abeam of the runway end, the object continued accelerating for a short time, perhaps five to ten seconds. It then climbed slightly, and at the same time abruptly slowed. During this phase the glow was becoming brighter, while the vertical beam was shortening, forming itself into a more compact mass of light.

At about forty-five degrees off to my right, the object, now considerably brighter, and resembling a glowing ball, came to a stop for several seconds. It then reversed course, and once again began moving, this time back to the west.

Several seconds after starting it’s westward movement, and without slowing, the ball of light instantly assumed the shape of a well-defined, flattened sphere with pointed ends, which emitted a steady orange glow. At this time it began a shallow descent, gathering speed and leveling out around twenty degrees above the horizon. It flew with it’s pointed ends parallel to the ground. From my position, the size of the object looked to be about that of a large pea or small marble when held at arms length.

When the glowing, flattened sphere was directly over the Thrush's nose, it abruptly halted, going from a high rate of speed to a dead stop almost instantaneously. It remained stationary for no more than a few seconds - five at the most. Although this would have been the best opportunity to determine the object's true size, I was unable to make an estimate, since it’s distance from me was unknown. On the report which I later submitted, I placed it at one to three miles away, but that distance is highly speculative.

After its momentary halt, the object again accelerated. Within a few seconds it had resumed its previous high speed, but appeared to have turned ninety degrees, and was now climbing directly away from me at a very steep angle. Its heading was due north, and as it rose, it attained what looked to be the highest speed reached during the entire time it had been in view.

Because of the unknown size and distance of the object, and the fact that it was climbing at an angle directly away from me, this speed was impossible to estimate accurately. Judging from the rate at which it seemed to grow smaller though, it looked to be travelling about three to five times faster than a jet airliner at an altitude of around thirty thousand feet, as seen from the ground.

During this climb, the object also reached its maximum brightness, only very slightly less than that of the crescent moon. As it continued to rise, it began to dim. It finally vanished from my sight high above the horizon (about sixty to seventy degrees), over the glow of the lights of Firebaugh, another small town about 12 miles due north of my position.

The total time which the object remained in view, from my first sighting of the diffused mass of light until the final disappearance of the flattened sphere, seemed to be about 40-50 seconds, but an accurate estimate is quite difficult. It could have been somewhat shorter, but almost certainly wasn't longer.

Throughout the episode, I remained relatively calm, but was filled with awe when I realized that I had just witnessed a phenomenon about which I had previously only read, and, up to that time, was not at all certain actually existed.

As soon as the object disappeared, I jumped off the wing and asked my loader if he had seen anything. He had not, and when I told him what I had witnessed, he was disappointed, to say the least. He finished mixing the batch of pesticide, and I sprayed four loads on the field. I then sprayed another quarter-section located northeast of the strip without further incident.

After returning to Tranquillity, I sought out my two flaggers, and asked them if they had seen anything unusual the previous night. They were both very evasive and reluctant to answer my questions, and kept trying to change the subject. I finally got them to admit that they had also seen the object. Their view of it had been better than my own, since they described it as somewhat larger and brighter than it had appeared from my location. From this, I estimated that they were closer to it than I had been, although it had still remained to the north of them.

With further questioning, the fact emerged that they had also seen the same object on the previous two nights, while flagging for another pilot. The girls described it very aptly as "a little, flat, flying football." They had told no one else of these previous sightings, and remained very reluctant to discuss them with me. I later talked with the other pilot, who stated that he had seen nothing out of the ordinary on either night.

Several nights later, at around midnight, I was in the air, returning to Tranquillity from the western edge of the valley. I was heading almost due east, flying at about five hundred feet. Suddenly, to the south, just off my right wing, at what seemed to be considerable distance away, I again sighted a column of diffused light. This time, the glow was more yellowish than orange. It appeared to move very slowly to the west, and I waited for a few seconds to see if another bright, oval shape would materialize from it. This did not occur. I then turned the airplane toward the light column, and flashed my two field lights of six hundred watts each. It immediately disappeared, and I saw no further evidence of the phenomenon.

A few days afterward, I wrote to the National Investigative Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP), and reported the first sighting. Since the second light column had seemed rather far away, and was visible for only a short time, I didn't mention it. I later made out a NICAP report form and returned it. There was no reply from the organization, and I later learned that NICAP became non-operational the next year.

That sighting of 28 July made a very deep and lasting impression. I can still see the glowing orange, flattened sphere as vividly in my mind as it appeared on that early morning many years ago. I have no doubt that the device (or whatever it was) was real - there is absolutely no way that it could have been a product of my imagination. Twelve years previously, I had flown in the Sudan with some AG pilots who mentioned seeing somewhat similar objects in Arkansas and Florida.

Around that same time, many persons in the Mendota-Tranquillity area claimed to have seen, over a period of several nights, a gigantic, black object, with strange, multi-colored flashing lights. It moved slowly, making no sound, and was so huge that it obscured a significant portion of the night sky. (This fits the "mother ship" description of which I later read in various UFO accounts.) I never saw this vehicle, so I can't verify its existence, but it was the talk of all of the little towns on the west side of the San Joaquin Valley for many weeks afterward.

Over the years, I have seen two other unusual objects during night AG flying operations in the same general area. I once observed a bright blue light descend slowly to the ground from a high altitude, and watched, for a minute or so, a group of several bright white lights in a perfect "L" formation. They were flying very high and very fast, much faster than any known conventional aircraft. Neither of these incidents had the visual and psychological impact of the 1978 sighting however.

As I write this, I have spent over 35 years in agricultural aviation, and accumulated more than eleven thousand hours of AG flying time, several thousand of these at night. During the many thousands of hours I have spent outdoors after dark, I have seen hundreds of satellites, about thirty missile launches from Vandenberg AFB, all of the visible planets under widely varying sky conditions, and many thousands of military and civilian aircraft in all modes of flight. What I saw on that early July morning was totally unlike anything else I have ever observed in the night sky.

Since then, I have read hundreds of books dealing with all aspects of UFOs. Many of them contain accounts that are inconsistent and contradictory, while others are obviously outright fantasy. A few, however, seem to be authentic. Unlike most other UFO researchers, my search for the truth behind the many thousands of documented appearances of these phenomena is driven by the certain knowledge that they in fact exist.

To date, despite many years of research, I am still unable to form a definite opinion as to the substance and meaning of these mysterious and logic-defying objects. I hope, however, to somehow correlate the mass of at-times conflicting information, and determine their true origin and purpose, before I make that last flight West.

END.

After the above article was first published the witness received a letter from a 25,000 hour commercial pilot who had sighted what was essentially the same phenomenon on a night in January of 1978, six months before my own experience.

He was on a charter flight with several passengers aboard and cruising at 8500 feet when, at about 9:00 p.m., he looked to the west of his course and saw a similar cycle of light begin. He started to turn toward it to get a better view, but his passengers had no desire whatever to get any closer…they became quite agitated and “strongly objected,” so he reluctantly turned away from the spectacle so as to calm them down. By the time he got back on his original heading, the light show was over. He also mentioned that he had seen a flight of “silvery disks” somewhere over north central Washington sometime in the 1950’s.

(Removed by Brian Vike) also got a letter from a distinguished professor at a northern California university, who dismissed my sighting as “only the aurora borealis, or northern lights.” I have seen the northern lights a number of times. Once, when they were exceptionally strong, they even appeared on the horizon in southern California. Of course, they bear no resemblance whatever to what I saw in the sky that morning, and anyone reading the article who has also seen the northern lights should have been able to comprehend that there was a vast difference between them. Some professor! Some aurora borealis!

Since the article first appeared, I have had one more sighting of something that remains unexplained in my mind. My wife also saw it, and is likewise at a loss to explain it.

On an early summer evening, we were lying on our backs on a lawn, watching the passage of the linked space shuttle/space station as they passed overhead. It was a very bright object, and had appeared exactly at the time forecast.

About 15 seconds after it had passed directly above us, we saw a bright white, flashing light on approximately the same track as the linked vehicles, but some distance behind them. It was nearly directly overhead also. The light didn’t move in the same direction however. Instead, it flashed, disappeared, and then flashed again in another location some distance away from its original position. This cycle repeated itself about five or six times, with the light appearing at a different part of the sky each time, then the object disappeared.

I mailed an account of this sighting to the National Aviation Reporting Center on Anomalous Phenomena, an organization which gathers reports of unexplained aerial object sighting from all over the world. They mostly come from airline pilots. The reply stated that this same “flashing, disappearing/reappearing light” was one of the most common objects reported by a large number of pilots, none of whom were able to explain it. Neither was NARCAP.

Although I have been searching for 40 years, I myself am no wiser as to the origin or purpose of these various unidentified flying objects which are being reported with increasing frequency all over the world. However, since there is nothing in the universe that is “supernatural,” I am convinced that they are a part of some larger phenomena yet to be discovered.

An Unexplained Sighting Over Northern Alabama

(Published in - Removed by Brian Vike - September 1995 as sidebar to "A Little Flat Flying Football")

Whenever I travel by airline, I always try to get a window seat, because I like to look out on the ever-changing clouds and sky and watch the ground passing below. Thus, on 21 April 1994, at approximately 1310 EDT, I was in the rearmost right window seat of a Delta Lockheed L-1011. The aircraft was nearly full of passengers, heading west/northwest on a flight from Atlanta to Salt Lake City.

We were in a climb to cruising altitude, passing through approximately 18/20,000 feet, when I suddenly saw, almost directly below, two seemingly circular bright, glowing white objects, with no visible wings or tail surfaces, moving toward the northeast at a very high speed. I spotted them just after they had passed under the airplane.

Because I have no knowledge of their size, or their distance from the aircraft, it's hard to say how far below they actually were, or at what speed they were traveling. I can tell you that they were moving very fast though...much faster than the fastest military fighter aircraft would be capable of flying, especially at that relatively low altitude.

Besides that, with only a few exceptions for test and tactical ranges in several of the western states, supersonic flight is forbidden over the continental US, and these machines were traveling at a speed which was obviously much higher than the speed of sound would have been at that altitude. And of course all military aircraft of all the services are now coated with either radar-absorptive or camouflage paint, and thus are either a uniform dull grey or a dull gray/green mottled color combination.

Although these objects were flying together, they were not in a close formation, such as tactical military aircraft would normally be, but approximately 3-5 degrees apart. As they moved away below, they seemed to drift a little farther away from each other.

I watched them disappear in the distance, and then looked forward along the row of seats to see if anyone ahead of me was pointing, gesturing, or giving some indication that they had also seen the objects. No one was...all of the other passengers had the window shades down and were watching some dumb Whoopee Goldberg movie. Evidently I was the only one looking out the window.

While this didn't have the same impact as my previous sighting of July 1978, it was still an exciting experience. I only wish I had seen an indication that someone else on that airplane had sighted the machines...or whatever they were.

Thank you to the eyewitnesses for their excellent reporting.

Object Dark And Rectangular In Shape Over Pickering Nuclear Generating Station Ontario

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

 Date:  June 25, 2007

Time:  6:00 a.m.

Number of witnesses: 3

Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Small and rectangular.

Brian Vike’s Note: The witness requested that none of their  personal information be given out, or posted. Brian Vike does not release or post personal information what so ever unless instructed to do so. As most of the reports I receive read, "thank you to the witness for their report". It is most important that folks who have had a sighting to know their privacy is fully respected here at Kamloops British Columbia Canada UFO Research.

Full Description of event/sighting: I am hesitant to make a report like this but the object I observed over the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station on the 25th of June, 2007 was very similar to that reported over the station by other people so it made me realize that I wasn't the only one who thought that this object was a bit odd. I would appreciate that my name not be used (even my first name) as my credibility may come into question if this information became public knowledge.

I presently work at the Pickering Nuclear Generating station near Toronto and I witnessed the object described over the station by others on the FILER'S FILES # 26 - 2007 report.

I start my shift at 7:00 a.m., but usually arrive at around 6:00 a.m. as I have breakfast in the cafeteria before going to work. My first sighting of the object happened on the morning of the 25th of June, 2007. I had just cleared security and was leaving the security building to enter the administration building when I glanced up to see an object that seemed rectangular in shape. The object was fixed in a horizontal position hanging over the back of the turbine auxiliary bay on the A side of the building.

What caught my attention was that it was something I had never noticed from that location before and because it was so perfectly stationary I stopped walking to take a better look. At first I was thinking that it may have been part of the superstructure on the top of the building as it was so immobile. After thinking about it for a few moments I concluded that it must be part of the building and it was connected by a guide wire or something. I dismissed the original sighting as being irrelevant and went inside and quickly forgot about it.

Around 9:00 a.m. I had to attend to a job I was involved with out in the screen house building located behind the plant. (South of the main building toward Lake Ontario). After walking from the screen house going west I looked up and saw the same object again and this time it was a bit higher and now located about 200 feet, above and slightly west of the vacuum building structure. (The top of the vacuum building is about 200 feet and this was about 200 to 300 feet above it).

I watched it for about 5 minutes and it did not move. When I say this I really mean it. It was absolutely stationary and that is the reason I stood there watching it. In my mind no objects in flight are so stationary and that is the reason it caught my attention.

After watching it for a bit I saw a friend of mine and I pointed it out to him. His analysis was that it maybe a kite being flown from Frenchman's Bay, located to the west of the plant. I was somewhat inclined to agree with him and went back into the plant to continue my work.

Later on in the morning I had the opportunity to walk out to the back of the plant again and I looked up to where it was and it was gone. I searched the sky and to my amazement I saw it again. It had changed locations. This time it was situated over the cooling water inflow behind the vacuum building structure at about even with its height (around 200 feet).

I watched it for a couple of minutes but again dismissed it as being man made as I figured it had to be.

Later on in the afternoon around 2:00 p.m. I walked back out again to see it in the same place behind the vacuum building structure. It had not moved. I again used some excuse to write it off as being explainable as I had no other evidence to suggest otherwise outside of its very stationary position in the air that did not seem natural in my mind.

When I looked for it the next day there was nothing to be seen. The object was no longer there.

I have been looking since but have not seen anything unusual. I will keep looking as it has intrigued me and I really want to know what that object was.

It reminded me of some sort of surveillance drone as it seemed to be observing plant activities. In retrospect I should have informed security but I was thinking they wouldn't even follow it up. The reason I say this is that during the day I told a number of people about the object and they responded in such an apathetic manner that I was dissuaded to tell anyone else.

The object was dark and rectangular and may have been the size of a 45 gallon drum. It was positioned horizontally not vertically. I did not have any magnifying device so it was not very discernable.

I don't make any claims that this was not a man made object, but its behavior was quite peculiar.

Thank you to the witness for the very interesting report.

Hovering Saucer Shaped UFO Emitting An Orange Glow Over Oyster River Black Creek Vancouver Island British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  Around October 10, 2007

Time:  Evening.

Location of Sighting: Oyster River, Black Creek Vancouver Island

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Saucer shaped.

Brian Vike’s Note: If anyone else has witnessed this craft would they please contact Brian Vike, Director of Kamloops British Columbia Canada UFO Research with the details of the sighting. brian_vike@telus.net

Full Description of event/sighting: I will get the people involved to put their stories on here. One is a friend who has seen the same flying object 3 times in the last month. The last is a friend of my son's. I just asked him tonight about his sighting.

He saw the same saucer shaped object on the same night as my other friend, Wednesday of this week or there abouts in Black Creek just north of the Merville store.

He was being driven home by his boss and they pulled over off the highway in a Hummer vehicle (thinking they were safe) and watched the craft hovering over a neighbor's property.

He said it was saucer shaped and had revolving lights that emitted an orange glow. It then flew in a zig zag pattern and took off toward the ocean.

My other friend was telling me of the same craft that very night (after I dropped my son off at the friend's house). He said the same thing..orange light and a glowing saucer. He told me he was driving south when all of a sudden the lights of the saucer came on. He said he went "oh no, not again" rolled up his windows and continued driving toward home. He said he was very scared.

Altogether he has seen it twice this past week in the same locale between Oyster River and Black Creek, but his sightings were over the ocean. A previous sighting about a month ago was over a field near Oyster River.

Again a saucer, but cream colored light with blue or green. I think that is what he said. I will pass this link onto my son's friend and also my other friend that saw it 3 times. It is better that they talk to you themselves. I was just wondering if you had any other reports from Vancouver Island (up past Courtenay) this month? Has anyone else seen this same craft? (in all cases, it has been only one craft) That is about all for now.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

A Close Encounter With Massive Triangular Shaped UFO And Missing Time Orleans Ontario

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  February 1998

Time:  7:15 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 6

Number of objects: 1?
Shape of objects: Triangular and round.

Full Description of event/sighting: It was a very cold day in February when my mother and I walked out of the Chiro's office and headed to the Giant Tiger across St-Joseph Blvd. to get a few items. It was about 6:45 p.m. at the time we entered the store. It only took us a maximum of 12 minutes in the store and so I figure it must have been around 7:00 p.m. the latest.

We crossed the street again to head back home when I noticed an amber coloured  oval object moving over the bank. I pointed it out to my mother who by this time was half freezing to death at the minus 30 temperature we were experiencing. She was quick to brush it off and said to we had to walk fast in order to warm up. But then, I noticed that the object was still.

I told my mom to stop walking for a second to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me (and to confirm that she was also seeing the same thing) Low and behold, the object was as still as could be, not making a sound. We decided to keep walking since it was too darn cold to stick around.

The object followed us. When we stopped, it would stop. When we would move forward it would move forward...at one point it had gotten a little too far ahead of us and actually reversed itself to be in sync with us. (?) We passed a pizza place and a few stores until we came to a clearing between a house and a flower shop where it was darker because the glare of the street lights was faded by the heavy darkness that lay in behind the house.

As if things weren't bizarre enough already, it started a strange sequence of shape shifting. It changed from oval to round. Then split in two to make two round amber coloured shapes one staying still while the other dance with the tree. At about that time, two women came out of the house and one exclaimed to the other "Look at that!" but the other lady, disinterested, told her friend that they didn't have the time to fool around and they got in their car and left.

One thing I need to mention here is that while the craft was shape shifting, my mother and I were sort of in awe of the whole thing...so much so that the minus 30 degree weather didn't seem to bother us at all. In fact, we were as warm as can be. Anyway, we decided to head home since my brother, who was only 8 or 9 at the time, was home alone and we needed to get back quickly for fear that he may get scared if left alone for too long.

We started home and the craft seemed to have disappeared ? We cut through the parking lot of a low-roofed warehouse where we saw something that I will never forget. The orange glow of the streetlight lit the side of the hugest object I have ever seen in my life. It looked like this big black (tar) mass sitting maybe 30-50 feet above the roof of this warehouse.

It was so big that we couldn't see the other side of this thing. This massive triangular shape appeared to be moving very slowly ahead of us, directly over the townhouse project we lived in. Two men were on the other side of the street and saw the event...I never guessed they would have run away from it though. And at that moment, the most remarkable thing happened.

The object shifted upwards to show its full form and for the first time we actually heard noise...blue lights light up the entire triangle and electric blue sparks shot downward from either ends of the craft. I was amazed and terrified at the same time. It still evokes strong feelings just thinking about it.

The object seemed to have disappeared once more, only to reappear a quarter of a mile further as a reddish-blue light swishing back and forth in the night sky. We continued home which was literally across the street by that time and realized that we were warm. My brother opened the door with a very worried look on his face. "Where were you mom? You were gone for so long! Where were you?"

My mother and I looked at each other and then at my brother, perplexed. My mother said: "We've only been gone about half an hour" I quickly took off my winter boots and walked to the kitchen to look at the time on the wall clock. "Mom, it's 9:30 p.m. how is that possible?"

Ever since that day, we have strived to explain the time loss but we really can't come up with anything that would make sense.

I had an appointment at the Chiro's office for 6:30 p.m. We left the office at 6:45p.m. went to the store across the street and were out by 7:00 p.m. the latest. From that particular store back to our house was only a 20 minute walk...given the fact that we stood still for a little while we'll add 20 minutes just to be sure ( actually, it only felt like 10-15 minutes altogether) So, technically we should have arrived home at 7:40 p.m.

Surely, we would have noticed if we were outside in minus 30 degree weather for a total of 2 1/2 hours. We would have had frostbite or something

Thank you to the witness for the amazing report.

Low Flying UFO Illuminated By City Lights Ogdensburg New York (Diagram)

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

 Date:  August 19, 2007

Time:  Approximately 9:45 p.m.

Hello Brian, updated I have a rough sketch of what I saw. I only have access to paint from Microsoft right now no AutoCAD program. I hope this sketch is enough information for your viewers to help with it's identification.

I had just witnessed a number of weird objects and was in the process of heading in that night and all of sudden I had this white light object go over my backyard in the city and witnessed a major power-up.

I then moved to the middle of my backyard that's fenced in and this is when I caught a glimpse of this object. It was completely silent and without lights and a matter of fact the craft was so low that the city's street lights were illuminating the object.

I would guess that the object was at least two stories high minimum and over 3/4 of a city block long, it was incredible on it's side there was these circles and they were 3-D not flat on the object.

All I can say is that we are in a small city and there's just a small airport here nothing military nearby less than 50 miles away, it was one of best and stirring sightings of this year, and I have seen quite a few this year. I hope other's have seen this object elsewhere.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Number of objects: 1-2
Shape of objects: Unknown, but lights in V shape.

Full Description of event/sighting: During Desert Storm, my unit was staged in the northern Saudi Arabian desert, about 50 miles south of the border with Iraq.  On at least two occasions, as I was performing perimeter guard duty in the early morning hours, I was sitting on the edge of the perimeter, scanning the area to my front, when I suddenly had the feeling that something was over me.

I looked back over my shoulder, and saw what appeared to be 5 lights, almost identical to the brightness of stars, in the shape of a V flying above me.  It was a moonless night, but in that part of the desert, starlight shone brightly, and whatever this thing was appeared out of no where. What struck me as strange is that it made no sound at all, but it looked like five stars moving slowly over my unit.

I kept watching as this thing passed over my unit, and then moved beyond me and slowly out of sight.  As it passed over, all that could be heard, was the faint sound of a rush of air, like a low wind blowing.

I have no way of judging the size of this object, as I could make out no shape of an object, only V shaped lights, but compared to the size of a Boeing 747, a plane of that size to have lights spread to those dimensions, would only possibly be 100 feet off the ground to be that size.

Within five minutes, this cluster of V-shaped lights flew silently over again.  Twice in one night.

What was surprising in this, I was not the only person in my unit that saw this thing.  In fact, nearly every person in my section at some time or another saw this cluster of lights silently flying over our site.

I happened to see it again on a separate night of guard duty, only this time, I also had a set of night vision goggles with me.  The thing flew over again, and I tried my best to train my goggles on it, but the only thing I could make out were the five lights, no form or outline of the object could be made out.

I recall reading accounts of the Fort Stockton flying boomerang sightings in Texas, as well as the infamous "Phoenix Lights" sightings in 1997, and descriptions of both of these sightings, sound very similar to what the Soldiers in my unit witnessed during Desert Storm in 1991.

I am still serving in the US Army, so I withhold my name and address, but wanted to share this with you.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Silent Thin Wafer Like Elongated Triangular UFO Newmarket Ontario

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  March 23, 2007

Time:  10:40 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Newmarket

Number of witnesses: 3
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Chevron, triangular, thin and wafer-like.

Full Description of event/sighting: A group of us were celebrating my brother's 45th birthday. We were at a friend's house. We were in the hot tub and the friend's 21 year old daughter and her boyfriend were standing beside the hot tub talking to us.

The daughter looked up in the sky and said, what the heck is that. Her boyfriend looked up and I looked up. It was hard to distinguish against the sky, looked almost like the starry sky itself, but there was a shadow around the object that made it look perhaps like an elongated triangle.

There were 3 lights on it, that looked like stars. It was hard to tell how high it was in the sky. It was not a jet as there were no flashing lights, it was not a small plane because it made no noise. And it moved very smoothly and quickly across the sky for about 3-4 seconds before blending into the sky, or folding up and disappearing. Long before it finished the arc it would have made across the night sky.

All three of us described the object the same way. We all saw it though the others were talking and didn't look up. I was the designated driver so not drinking and the other two had just returned home and had not been drinking either.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Terrified Witnesses To A 30 Foot Hovering Saucer Shaped UFO In New York State

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  July 11, 2007

Time:  10:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: New York  (near Pine Bush).

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: 30 foot saucer shaped vehicle red blue lights w/beam.

Full Description of event/sighting: Driving home on country road when lights were sighted behind a tree, about 40 feet up and about 40 feet in front of us. We stopped our vehicle, it lowered and moved directly in front of us over road. Flashing blue and red lights and a beam of light from under it, beaming onto road in front of us.

It hovered over road directly in front of us. We were actually having a terrifying encounter with this thing. Who was going to make the next move? My sister, who was driving wanted to turn around and go back down the road towards town. I knew not to get under the beam. I knew if we tried to go back it would get over us.

I told my sister to make turn into upper driveway to our house. We had to go toward the UFO, and it lowered more and began to come toward us, but we swerved a sharp right to turn into the driveway. We were terrified! We parked our car, my sister on driver's side ran to house, saying "it is not a helicopter. It makes no noise!"

I opened passenger side, and running around back of vehicle, looked up straight ahead of me. The UFO is directly in front of me, very close to the ground, just hovering. No beam of light underneath now, but a grey blue light all around it.

It was between the house and garage buildings, just hovering there. It was about 30 feet wide. I was sort of mesmerized by it. We try to account for the time. Just remember suddenly again being behind my sister on the porch as she was trying to open the door with the keys, surprisingly so calmly.

Afterwards, we both realized it must have been directly over our vehicle in the driveway because we did not see it go down the road in front of us. Also, a funny thing was my sister had been frightened by these things hovering low near the radio tower on the road and had been practicing parking here vehicle facing the road and practicing opening the door as quickly as possible.

It hovered a few minutes, then very, very slowly moves up and away from me over tree tops. A very, very whisper of sort of an electrical generator sound.!

The next day the tree it hovered over before slowly moving toward road had the leaves all drooping and looked dried out. And a circle on the grass where it hovered. There are always these strange "flashing stars" in the area all the time, and my sister is very frightened of these things. Even before this encounter.

Like she has had some "experience" with them before or something. She would point at them and tell me "those are not stars!"  And every night they are still there, some hanging very low, not at a great distance. These "flashing stars" are also here in Branson, Mo. I see them every night. Just hovering in the sky all the time. Not sure if these are military vehicles or what. But this is very frightening.

I had been in New York for only a short time when this happened and we did not go out after dark after this. Did research on the Pine Bush UFO sightings over the years. Know top military experimentation facilities in the area. Researching more very interesting information about the area and military and government experimentation and facilities.

I have found information on a UFO crash in the area in 1965, and military people came on our property about that time to search for something. I remember my dad and I watching the UFO's in the sky from out kitchen windows in the 60's and 70's, usually a cluster of three or so. They would hover and then suddenly just take off really fast to nowhere. But couldn't talk about it then.

Now look at the talk on the internet. No, we are not crazy. This is really happening. But what and who are they?  Sort of makes me proud when my sister and I can say "two blondes out maneuvered a UFO" ! What would the brunettes have done?

Joking about it now. But it was the most terrifying experience of my life. We thought we were going to die. We were hysterical, crying a screaming. Now I see them here too. Why is no one, like scientists and "star gazers" not talking about them? I can easily pick them out.

They just hang in the sky for hours, and have flashing pulsating red and green lights. And there is sometimes a larger very bright white thing with them. Are many other people reporting these things to you also?  On the internet I've found a few people questioning these "flashing stars."

Thank you to the witness for the very interesting report.

Jets In Hot Pursuit Of Strobing Diamond Shaped UFO Near Fresno Airport Fresno California

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

 Date:  June 1969

Time:  10:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Near Fresno Airport, Fresno, CA.

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Round or Diamond Shaped.

Full Description of event/sighting: Hi Brian, my husband and I sent you our sighting report of 12 white orbs that we saw and photographed over Los Banos, CA on August 28, 2005, which you posted. You have asked for older reports so I am attaching a sighting my girlfriend and I had in 1969 which involved two jets chasing after a UFO spotted near the Fresno, CA Airport.

Clovis CA, June, 1969  It was about 10:00 p.m. on a warm clear evening mid - June of 1969. I had just graduated from High School and my best friend and I were sitting outside my home enjoying the clear dark sky and brilliantly shining stars. On a whim, we decided that we wanted to go to a late-night market in Fresno, about five miles away and buy some magazines to read. We got into my car and began to drive south to a shopping center near the Fresno Airport.

Along the way we decided to take a short cut on a small road adjacent to the airport which was flanked by an open field. We turned right onto the small two-lane road and were now driving along side the field and which was several hundred feet away from the fenced area near the end of the airport runway, which we could see clearly, including buildings and planes of the local Air National Guard.

There were no street lights and the road was dark with no traffic, except for us. As we drove by we could see that most of the airport activities had stopped for the evening, which was normal, as no aircraft landed or took off from there at that time of night. 'We continued down the road talking, when I noticed my friend leaning forward in the passenger seat staring up at something in the sky. She motioned to me to look out my driver's side window saying "what is that?"

I looked out the window and saw an intense white strobing light hovering above apparently keeping pace with my car. I slowed down and it continued to follow at the same pace. As our windows were down, we most certainly would have heard an engine, was it a plane, but it made no noise at all.  Not knowing what we were seeing, I pulled over, stopped the car and we both got out to take a better look.

We were mesmerized by the intense white light of the object which now appeared diamond shaped and strobing quickly as it hovered above us. It was hard to estimate its altitude and size, but we guessed at arms length it would have been the size of a basketball. By now two other cars had come up behind us and had pulled off the road to look as well. Within moments the object started to move away from us, and began to pick up speed. All of a sudden we heard the roar of jet engines and looked up to see two military jets lifting off the runway in hot pursuit of this object.

The jets passed directly over us - so close that we could see the landing gear retract. We watched as the jets tried to close on the object. We were in a flat area of land and we could clearly see the object and jets streaking away from us heading due west.  As the jets began to close on the object the object slowed and appeared to hover over the jets as if teasing them, and then it made an incredible 90 degree turn with several jerking, zigzag movements and shot off at tremendous speed to the South directly over downtown Fresno. The jets were left in its wake. We immediately jumped back into the car and decided to head home to tell our families what we had just witnessed.

It was about 10:45 p.m. when we reached the main intersection of town where we were stopped waiting the signal light to change. Suddenly all of the signal lights, and street lights started flashing on and off, including the caution lights at the train tracks which were directly in front of us beyond the intersection. A large bolt of electricity shot down a power line near the road, arcing and snapping till it got to the end and dissipated. We sat there watching these lights flashing on and off around us for about 3 - 4 minutes and then they all stopped and the signal turned green. We looked at each other and I floored it through the intersection and didn't let off the gas till we got to my friends home only a few blocks away.

When we pulled up to her house, some of the neighbors were all outside talking excitedly about what had just happened with the lights in the neighborhood. Of course they asked us if we saw it and we told them that we had witnessed that - and more. Wanting to confirm what we had seen earlier, we ran inside the house to phone the airport. Incredibly, the call was answered by a man in the control tower. I told him we had observed something in the sky close to the airport less than an hour ago and asked him if two National Guard jets had taken off to check it out. I was told point-blank that no planes had taken off at all that night. I asked him again, if he was sure, and he told me once again that no planes had taken off.

We knew we weren't going to get any further with him and we also knew he had to be lying as we saw the jets with our own eyes and had close enough to read the numbers on the planes. We told our families about what we had seen and received polite, yet insincere statements like "wow that must have been something". But we knew they didn't believe us. There was nothing in the local news the next day about a strange object in the sky or equally strange power surge and nothing was ever said about it again - except between my friend and me. We've recounted that night many times over the years, even up to this day. We know what we saw; we know what happened.

Thank you to the witness for the excellent sighting report.

UFO Shines Light Onto The Ground And Follows Vehicle Near Cherry Valley Illinois

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  Winter 1973

Time:  1:00 a.m.

Location of Sighting: Near Cherry Valley, Il.

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Could only see light shine onto ground and flight.

Full Description of event/sighting: At the corner of Cherry Valley Rd. and Anne Glidden Rd. I saw a big light shining onto a farm dirt field near the road. I stopped to look at it because I knew no light belonged there.

It looked about 10 feet wide and 80 feet high with what looked like water falling down through the light. I opened the window and all I heard was some slight static. I tried to see what was holding up the light but couldn't see anything, it was to dark.

My girlfriend and I got freaked and we drove off. The light stayed along side of us so I floored it to 100 mph but it stayed with us. When I slowed down it zoomed from our left to our right at tremendous speed while going thousands of feet high.

I have been in the military air forces and never saw anything like that. The next day the newspaper had reports of policemen in Quad Cities seeing the same thing about 20 minutes after our sighting

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Some Of The Best UFO Footage I Have Even Seen !

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

As anyone who is visiting my UFO blog recently knows I have been posting some of my favorite UFO cases I have received over the years. There are many, many of them to get to, but as I was going through my folders pulling out cases I came across a case that I received from back in 2004 from a man who received video footage of a UFO sighting that is nothing short of amazing. When I received the footage back in 2004 I was asked that I “Don’t post the footage!” I never did post it !

So when I ran across the video footage yesterday I was again reminded of it and again blown away. I also had one person check the footage out back in 2004 to see if it might be a CGI or someone’s attempt at screwing around to make a false UFO video. After he analyzed the footage carefully he wrote back to me informing me he believed the video footage was of something rather unusual and not a fake !

So here I sit trying to reach out to the man who sent me the video footage, but my emails to him are not getting through. Maybe they changed their email address, etc.

Here is the little I know, a man sent me the footage which certainly shows an unusual craft, it defiantly is a solid object, silver in color with what appears to look like a light at the top of it, but this maybe reflection off the sun. I am not 100% sure of that. It maneuvers rather weirdly which is really interesting in itself. The video isn’t very long and isn’t fuzzy in anyway. The object is seen clearly !

What makes this interesting, and why I was asked not to post it. The footage comes from a government agency in the United States who monitors government installations by way of video. It was a family member who sent the footage to this man. I guess it caused quite the stir and there were officials all over it. I know I never heard anything more about it, I wish I did.

Anyway, I am not sure what else I can do when it comes in trying to contact this man again. I hope maybe he will read this message and maybe write and we can work something out to get this footage posted.

On a side note, my granddaughter might be taking over my UFO stuff. I said I would help her through everything and be here to help out along the way. I am sticking pretty close to home due to my wife not being well and by adding UFO cases gives me a little something to do.

Thank you to the person for passing along the footage.

Silent Slow Moving Dark Triangular Craft Langford British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  February 1999 ?

Time:  Approximately 1:00 a.m.

Location of Sighting: From our backyard in Langford, British Columbia.

Number of witnesses: 2

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Triangle.

Full Description of event/sighting: Sorry to be fuzzy on the exact date, but it was along time ago and after our encounter we came into the house and each drew our rendition of what we saw. I'm in the process of looking for our drawings from that night.

The reason we were out in the yard at that hour was it was supposed to be one of the best nights in decades to see meteor showers. We weren't disappointed and had some long colorful shooting stars fill up the sky as we laid on sleeping bags in our backyard (actually on the driveway for the clearest view).

My husband was getting frustrated because he kept missing the awesome ones I was seeing because he had been looking the other way. This went on a few times until finally he said tell me exactly where you're looking and I'll look there too.

All of a sudden from our far left (east facing direction) we saw a dark shape in the sky. It was a triangle of sorts with a bit of a curve to the shape. Our two drawings did not totally match the outer shape, but the body.

What did match was the fact that there were perfectly round holes going across the body of this thing in rows. The object was black but the holes looked even darker in color, it moved quite slowly straight across the sky and made no noise what-so-ever.

We both exclaimed, "what the heck is that" and watched it go across our sight line and disappear behind the roof of the house. We probably watched it for about 10 seconds and were not able to figure out how high it was or how big it was because there was nothing to compare it too.

If there had been a sound it might have helped us gauge how high up it was. If it was a toy of some kind it still would have made a sound. We were completely blown away and happy that both of us had seen because we knew no one would believe it.

I called our local observatory the following day hoping others had seen it and there was an explanation, but they politely told me to chalk it up to a unique experience.

We've never forgotten this and have never seen anything else unusual in our lives, but reading an article on you in our local paper today and seeing the reference to a triangle object made me want to write and share our story. It would sure be nice to know what this thing was.

Take care and thanks for letting me share.

Thank you to the witness for the excellent report.

Saucer Shaped UFO Screams And Strange Creature La Crescenta California

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

 Date:  Late 1975

Time:  Approximately 4:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 6

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Thick saucer shaped.

Full Description of event/sighting: This is mostly in regards of the 1975 sighting/screams in Thousand Oaks, Ca. La Crescenta is about forty miles south, and only about five or six miles from Jet Propulsion Laboratories, which is in Pasadena California.

I do not if these experiences have any bearing on the family from Thousand Oaks, but here it is:

I had a friend over the house late in 1975. I was sixteen years old at the time, and we were outside talking, and looking at a baseball game in progress across the street at the park. The weather was clear, plenty of daylight left. Although honestly I did not see this saucer shape appear, It was suddenly there, hovering over the sky to the North of us. It is difficult for me to tell exactly how high, or far away it was, but the UFO appeared huge.

Excuse me, I mean HUGE! It stayed in the air for some time, as we had time to observe it, I had time to run into the house and get my mother, brother, and father to come out and look at it.  It was hovering over the park, between us and JPL.

I remember that it had some lights on the side, rotating around the surface of the craft. It hung in the air, but was not totally motionless, as though it kept trying to stabilize itself, kind of like it was on a gyro that wasn't functioning properly. It stayed around for about two or three minutes, than tilted and then left the area at a high rate of speed. Aside from the aforementioned witnesses, I am not sure that anyone else had seen the object.

Now, concerning the screaming that the folks in Thousand Oaks that happened around the same time:

We had some incidences of screaming around here about that time, also. If memory serves correctly, it was just before the above mentioned sighting. Crescenta valley is in a bowl shaped area, created by the mountains to the north of Burbank, California and the Angeles crest forest north of that.

We lived pretty much at the base of the Burbank mountain. There is an aqueduct that was cut out in the early seventies, for flood control. Across the flood control (which was fenced off) lies the Crescenta Valley Park, which is directly across the street from my parents house. There are night baseball games (little league) and lights in the park.

It was dark, not too late at night, and some friends and I were sneaking a cigarette in the park, next to the flood control trench when we heard a god-awful scream which reverberated off of the hill, neither animal nor human, but it would be more to the animal side of noise. The three of us about jumped out of our skins, and were trying to see across the trench as to what could have made that particular noise.

It may be important to note that the lights of the baseball field had a hard time penetrating this far towards the trench to the hills, and we could not see where it had emanated from. We were in the midst of discussing what had caused the ruckus, and noticed some spectators from the game wandering over towards the trench, kind of angling away from us, so I knew we were not the only ones to hear it. After awhile, these folks left back to the game.

Some time later, as we were still standing around, discussing the incident, we heard another scream across the trench. This time, we witnessed the strangest sight. What it appeared to be was some kind of kangaroo/Chupacabra looking animal about fifty yards away, towards the base of the hill. It had to have been at least seven or eight feet tall, we could see its legs and tail fine, but it was kind of hard to see a face, as it fell within some shadows of light off the baseball field.

We looked at it, it looked at us, and I really thought some guy rented a Halloween suit and was playing tricks on people. Our minds were changed however, when it ran away.  It took off going from zero to about forty miles an hour in an instant.  And it went straight into the hills. Straight up the hill. We couldn't follow it for long, but were able to kind of keep track of it by all of the noise it created beating through the brush. I still think of this from time to time, and a kangaroo keeps coming to mind.

As a side note, when I was stationed in the army in Germany, we were on patrol one night in the Black Forest region, late at night, on a small game trail when the whole squad heard a scream which echoed all over the place.  No kidding, the hair on my arms stood up.  As we only had blanks for our rifles, we turned around and hightailed it out of there. Here's the extra weird thing.

Across the animal trail that we had passed not five minutes before, there was a huge tree covering the trail.  Needless to say, nobody ran around it, we had so much adrenalin flowing we pretty much climbed/jumped the fallen tree, and pretty much ran all of the way back to the area of operation.

Thank you to the witness for the fascinating report.

Black Disk Shaped UFO And Red Beams Of Light Kristiansand Norway (Graphic)

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Hello I searched the web after I had a sighting and I found your site and came to discover that you had just the same sighting as I just had in this speaking moment 3 hours ago here in Norway.

It was amazing, at first I just saw a huge bright light in the sky right above the tree-line across my road over some other residentials. It was so huge I called for a buddy of mine to come and look, and told him that is not a star, "look at all the other stars how small they are".

So I ran away and got my telescope, and when I it looked up I saw there was two white/bright lights fairly close to each other, but in the middle to my amazement it had a red light beam going downwards in a pattern movement. This was in between the two bright round lights at each side of the disk.

I had it in my sights for maybe 30 - 60 seconds and it started to move! It went first right and behind the tree-line or the top of a big tree so I could see it behind it. It then continued passed the tree-line a while and then I could see that it kind of looked like. Which was a black disk shaped object in the middle of those two bright lights on each side.

It was moving slow and then it turned again and started to go back the same way towards it's original position. It went passed that point and then towards me and my buddy, and almost over us in the sky totally silent, no sound what so ever. We both saw this object up and close in the scope for a fairly long time and also right overhead of us in the sky. It was a great sighting and I just wanted to mail you to see what you might think of it. Was it similar to your sighting or maybe you know of these kind of UFO crafts that I was able to see.

I'm curious to hear what you think about this sighting, speak to you later, bye.

Additional Information:

Hello Brian, I made a BMP file in ms-paint for you, nothing fancy, but I think you will be able to understand how this object looked like, it's attached on the side of this e-mail.

As for the other questions you was wondering about. The sighting was in Kristiansand ,Norway.

The time of the sighting was some place between 21 and 24.

Weather conditions, it was dark and cold and a totally clear sky and you could see all the stars very easily.

When it comes to the size of the object its hard to say, all I can say is that when I used my telescope and zoomed in on it when it was standing still, the two white lights on each side was fairly small. Very similar looking to a star when you zoom in on it. The red light in the middle was about the same size so if this object was that high in the air this means those lights and the object had to be seriously huge.

But on the other hand those white lights could have been very small as well, because when it went over me and was hovering over the tree-line that seemed extremely close again. So that's all I can say, it was totally silent when it went over me but then the object had also become a little bigger I think. At least I remember seeing those two white lights very clearly and apart from each other without the telescope. That's about the best I can explain it all.

My buddy don't have anything against sending you an email with a short explanation of his view of the observation and confirm my story and the he was witnessing the same I have explained to you if you need that.

Thank you to the witness for the great report and excellent graphic.
