Shape of Objects: Bright blue white light.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Taking the dog out and looking for possible meteors, I noted a bright flash and some movement in the NNW. A very bright blue/white light. There was no trail. Just the light. It stayed on for a few seconds, brighter than Venus. Steady. No blinking and went out. I kept looking in case it was a plane. Nothing - and a plane even flew by a bit distant with the telltale green/red lights and much dimmer.

About a minute later it appeared again in about the same spot and blinked off/on once. I noted its located as between the North Star and Capella. About half way but closer to the North Star. It did not move/track like a sat or the ISS (I have seen both often). I stayed watching and about 4 minutes later it flashed again. possibly brighter (?) than before. I stayed watching for anything else for a good 10 minutes more but saw nothing.

I don't know what this could be. Geostationary Sat with Iridium flare (never really heard of that, but possible?) Near "head on" meteors could be poss based on Lyriads, but so many in the same spot seems odd. Just wondering if anyone else saw this or has an explanation.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.
