Moon Sized UFO And Missing Time For Husband And Wife On Holidays

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  Late August 1977

Dear Brian, here's a experience involving the moon. We left for vacation driving at night from Vegas to Colo, this happened in late August 1977. We left the house about midnight, took the old Salt Lake Highway out of Vegas and had just crossed from Nevada into Utah. I was watching the sky as usual and I remember it was full moon and things were very bright, for some reason the desert really lights up in moon light and we could see a long distance.

I had been looking out the back window, (at this point in my life I didn't actually know for sure why I was always so watchful of the night sky.) I did know there were a lot of sightings in my life from the time I was a teenager and later remembered another when I could been no more than 8 or 9 years old.  Once I remembered the abductions it really went back to pre school, with what I thought was skeletons around my bed at night. I think it would be easy for a child to mistake greys for skeletons.

At any rate I was looking at the Big Dipper laying low in the sky and the moon was coming up farther to the east. When I turned back facing forward I noticed for a second what looked like the moon to my right higher in the sky, I realized it should not be in that position. I spoke to my husband, he didn't answer, he stared straight a head like he was in a trance. I grabbed the arm rest and rolled down the window to see better. It wasn't the moon as it was descending at a pretty fast rate, but it was a large round white light that looked to be the shape of a ball coming down toward us.

The next thing I remember was waking up with my head laying on the bottom of the window as it was still down, at that point all I knew is it was still dark. I thought I had fallen asleep, we shortly found out that may been true, but it was no where near normal nap. What ever time of night it was, I don't recall, I do recall it was pitch black, there was no moon and we were still in the desert.

We soon discovered we were lost, we went for miles in what appeared by the stars to be the wrong direction because there were no other roads we could find to get any bearings what so ever. We certainly were not on the highway we were on previously, we didn't know what state we were in, I guess we drove for fifty miles before we saw a sign that said Utah on it, we were on some back road still with no direction as to where we were.

About the time the sun was coming up, we found out we were headed east, instead of west still in Utah and had to drive another fifty miles to get back on the highway we had been on when the trip started. We got back on the highway we started on, then stopped and got breakfast about seven I believe in Cisco Utah. That's not real far from our destination in Colo, so we drove on there arriving about noon. The friends we were visiting, were about frantic, they wanted to know why we didn't call and let them know we were going to leave a day later than we told them, in other words we were a day late.  I checked their calendar and sure enough, we were some where for a full 24 hours neither of us remembered anything about.

Try explaining that to people that know nothing of UFOs, at that point I knew we had been abducted, problem was I didn't want to face that and just dropped it, saying we must have sent them the wrong date of arrival. Now it's one week later and as usual my husband wanted to drive at night because of less traffic, I wanted to leave earlier and be some where by dark to stay the night, we ended up leaving after dark. I've wondered since, if that thought was put in his brain and certainly not by me.

We got to Cisco, Utah about midnight, for a half hour or so before that a bright, white round light had been moving with us on the horizon to our left side above the canyons, we couldn't tell how far away it was at night. My husband suggested we stop for some pie and coffee in Cisco, we were there maybe half hour forty five minutes. We came out on to the main highway and shortly we saw this object again in the same location following us along and we were driving way over the speed limit.

Neither of us said anything. When we woke up, we were driving into our house about two AM, how we got from Cisco, Utah to our house in Vegas two hours later was something someone needed to explain. Well turns out it wasn't just two hours later, it was a day and two hours later, we went to bed not knowing that and about seven the next morning the phone rang. They were wondering where my husband was, as he had to be at work that day, thing is we left a day early so we would have a day to rest before going to work and believe me I'm very sure of that. So as I said, we were a day and two hours later getting home on the return trip. I to this day have no memory of what happened in those two days, I'm not sure he did or not he refused to speak about it. Take real good care my dear friend.

Half Moon Shaped UFO Seen Towards Fishing Lake Saskatchewan Canada

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  1996 (?)

Time:  Approxamtlty 10:00 p.m.

About 14 years ago, me and a friend of mine were driving east down Highway 5 (Saskatchewan, Canada) towards Fishing lake around 10:00pm or later. We noticed a half moon shaped object in the sky, which we assumed was the moon, in fact, was not. We were blown away because we knew where the moon was and slowed down to figure out what the hell this was.

As we came to a stop, the object got smaller and then just disappeared. We continued on our way, completely shocked and freaked out. We reached our destination and told some people about what we saw. Of coarse, laughter ensued. We left shortly there after still wondering what we had saw.

Of coarse, UFO was the topic. I dropped off my friend and we decided that this was better off left unsaid. To this day, I still think about it. Then when I Googled the object description, I came across this article. I was once again shocked. Weird.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Orange Crescent Moon Object And Red Lights Over Beaverton Ontario Canada

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  October 1, 2011

Time:  Approxamtlty 9:30 p.m.

My son and I were driving from our home into Beaverton at 9:30 approximately last night. When we turned off the highway to the west, we saw what at the moment we thought to be a crescent moon. Very orange in colour.

It was tipped to the side about 45 degrees. As I rounded the bend into Beaverton, it was no longer visible and I realized the moon would not have been in that position. I turned the vehicle around and drove almost all the way back to the highway. At no point in the return was the object visible.

This time I drove west and turned a corner to the north to try and see if there was anything unusual. It was a very clear night and stars were plainly visible in the sky. No cloud cover at all. Across the lake I thought I could see an unusual number of red lights blinking on the water. I drove to a small park on the lake where there was another vehicle parked.

I asked the occupants if I and my son were crazy or had they seen anything. A man and woman had both witnessed the same object. I asked them for a phone number.

After I returned to Beaverton which was our original destination and asked the owner of the local pizza joint if he had heard anything of unusual lights.

His reply was that someone in town the previous Saturday had also seen them, and that it was supposed to be a new police helicopter. However it does not seem like a logical explanation to me at this point.

Please get back in touch with any possible explanations you may have. I will try to investigate a bit more about this. Thanks.

Man Spots Moon Sized UFO Hovers Over Memphis Tennessee

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  November 15, 1964

Time:  10:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 1

Number of Objects: 1

Shape of Objects: White moon shaped and size.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: At 10:00 p.m. around mid-November of 1964 in Memphis, Tennessee (USA), I was asked by my mother to take out the garbage. I went out back and I noticed a bright white full moon above.

I looked closer and I noticed it had a uniform whiteness with well defined circular outline, but I was not able to see the shades of white or grey that made the man in the moon face. It was equally as bright as the real full moon, bright enough to create a moon shadow.

I looked around and I noticed another moon that was bright orange. This other moon was rising over our neighbor's house to the east, as I looked through the side yard from the backyard to the front. It had the features that created the man in the moon, so I believed that it was the real moon.

I looked above and stared again at the white full moon for a few minutes, then it made a rapid ascend in the sky. I estimate the ascend speed between 180 to 300 knots. As it rose, it became a smaller and smaller moon until it appeared to looked like a bright star, then a dim star, then disappeared into space.

It reminded me of the Star of Bethlehem when it was at high altitude. The event occurred within a mile of the Area 51 of Tennessee, that is near Highway 51 in the Frayser neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee and the event lasted about fifteen minutes.

I was only seven when I witnessed this UFO, that I now call the "Moon of Memphis". I had a good memory of the event so that when I was trained in the Air Force as a navigator, I was able to analyze the event better with my aviation experience. I estimate that the "Moon of Memphis" was at twenty thousand feet and was about ten acres in size.

I developed this information from watching the ascend of the "Moon of Memphis" through some high cirrus clouds that I estimate was at sixty thousand feet. At twenty thousand feet it would have taken four 747 aircraft parked in a circle to cover the area of the "Moon of Memphis" UFO, thus creating a ten acre size estimate.

When it hovered above me, it was exactly the size and shape of the real moon when seen high in the sky. Most observers probably could not tell the difference between the "Moon of Memphis" UFO and the real lunar moon when it's hovering above.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Bright Moon Sized Orange Object Over The South Side Of Indianapolis Indiana

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  July 4, 2011

Time:  11:45 p.m.

Mr. Vike, In amazement of what I just witnessed, I quickly got on the Internet to help me figure out what I just saw.  When I typed a Google search of "orange light over Indianapolis", I got your last years blog linked below. http://unitedstatesufo.blogspot.com/2010/07/bright-orange-light-over-indianapolis.html

After I read your story and it appearing to match mine so close on being exactly a year apart, I thought I would send you this.

Here is my story. My boy and I just got home from shooting fireworks from my parents house. He ran in excited to see her, for she has been sick with the cold and decided to stay home. As my son told my wife about the fireworks, everyone is getting ready for bed, I took out the dog.

I noticed that my dog was acting a little funny for he didn't want to go for a walk. Perhaps it was the shock of the fireworks, I don't know. But at this time, most of the fireworks was over. 11:45pm July 4, 2011. At that moment, I had a funny feeling to look up to the sky in the northeast.

I saw a bright orange object slowly moving in a southerly direction. It was most definitely brighter than any aircraft. It made no sound. It wasn't moving fast at all. "What the hell is that?" I recall asking my dog. He saw it at first and refused to move.

The object was moving south out of my line of sight due to my neighbors tree. I quickly ran across the street and east a little ways until I got to my street corner at E. Pleasant Run Parkway South Drive and Linden Street.  I faced south east and was seeing it perfectly.

It never blinked. It was like looking into a flash light from a distance, bright in the center with a ring around it. It seemed to wobble slowly and hover for a minute or two over what I believe from my best guess is beach grove. At this time, I called my father and told him what I was looking at. Looking at my cell phone's outgoing call, it was 11:46 and I stayed on the line until it blinked out 2.5 minutes.

Mr. Vike, after looking on YouTube, I found this amateur video of what looks exactly what I saw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLE2QA4IJH4&feature=grec_index

So, what I seen is exactly in that video. It was from my point of view, as large as the moon, from the northeast of me while it was heading dead south. It wobbled goofy like around about the beach grove area and continued south until it was the size of a star then finished.

It was hazy out due to the fireworks and the time of night I think. No cloud in the sky. The sky was very clear. No wind. There was no sound, other than the occasional fire cracker.

It could be military for all I know. What I do know is I see planes overhead all the time, and it wasn't like anything I have ever seen before.

Besides seeing something in the sky tonight that I can not identify, my dog would not come with me across the street for a walk. That is the first time in the eight years that I have had him. He watched me for the whole 4-5 minutes while I was full of amazement and he never moved until I told him to get inside.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Moon Sized UFO Beam Of Light Puzzled And Frightened Residents

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  July 28, 2003

Time:  Approxamtlty:  12:45 a.m.

What can cause so many residents in various communities from Kamloops through to the Okanagan and the Kootenays in British Columbia left scratching their heads, wondering what it was they all witnessed. Also many people became very frightened and ran into their homes. The answers to the questions have been hard to come by, but we certainly know something extraordinary did take place on July 28, 2003 in the early morning hours.

The story begins with a family who was camping at St. Mary’s Lake, which is located approximately 12 miles east of Kimberley, British Columbia, Canada. Around 12:45 a.m. the husband and wife decided to do some star gazing as the children were asleep and the night was warm and the sky clear and full of stars.

As the couple stood looking into the night sky they observed a very bright, white light heading in a southeasterly direction. The moon sized light was witnessed flying low over top Bootleg Mountain and across the lake and at times it's speed did vary. As it slowed, then picking up speed once again the witnesses watched the light zig zag slightly and at times it seemed to wobble until it was out of sight.

When they arrived back home from their camping trip they contacted the Kimberley RCMP detachment and spoke to a Cpl. Rod Carbonneau to enquire if others had reported seeing the object.

Cpl. Rod Carbonneau said the detachment received no calls over this matter. The Cranbrook Airport was also contacted and asked if there were any aircraft in the area of the sighting, but none were reported in the vicinity the object was observed.

For the couple who watched this amazing sight on July 28, 2003 not many answers were fourth coming. A couple of area residents did telephone the folks who watched the event telling them what they also saw that night, and another did make a report to the local newspaper.

From A Few Witnesses To a Flood Of Calls:

A report was made to Peter Davenport at the NUFORC in Seattle, Washington and then the sighting report was forwarded on to Brian Vike for a follow-up investigation. What I did not realize at this time was just how large this one case was going to be. From a handful of witnesses the case exploded into a major event where I currently have 157 eyewitnesses to something very mysterious.

Two things happened in the early morning hours that Sunday, a large moon sized object was seen by many area residents, and what followed left many folks in communities such as Kamloops, Vernon, Kelowna, Kimberley, Cranbrook and as far as Jaffray, British Columbia were left scratching their heads wondering what it was they saw.

A beam, or ray of white light was observed from Kamloops as far southeast as Jaffray, British Columbia. People who watched the strange and puzzling event said the white light looked as bright as a florescent tube and was arced from horizon to horizon as if one was viewing a rainbow. The beam of light sat almost stationary in this position for approximately an hour before dissipating.

Almost everyone  who witnessed the beam of white light said they had never seen anything like this before. All said they have watched the northern lights many times, but they commented this was certainly not the northern lights.

A Few Of The Eye Witness Accounts - The Light/Object (July 28, 2003)

1. A gentleman from Cranbrook, B.C. telephoned me and reported that he and his family were sitting outside and were discussing how bad the forest fires are throughout the southern interior when one of the family members spotted what they thought was a airplane with it's landing lights on and heading in their direction.

As the bright white light drew closer to them, the size was growing rapidly and so was the brightness of the light. Before they knew it, the light/object was upon them. The family was so frightened due to the immense size of the light/object being almost at the edge of their property that the children ran into the house screaming.

The mother followed closely behind. The father followed his wife and kids into the home, but stopped to take one last glance at whatever it was, and watched it make a 90 degree turn to the south. When I spoke to the dad he told me that they heard not a sound coming from it.

2. Another report came from a lady who was with a group of people on their holiday at their cabin on one of the local Kimberley, B.C. lakes. She told me they were sitting outside on the deck when one of the guests pointed towards the northwest. Low over one of the mountains came a huge, extremely bright white light traveling slowly in a zig zag pattern heading to the southeast.

As it got closer to the resort area, many people became uncomfortable due to how strange the object/light was acting. As it passed straight overhead not a sound was heard. Some of the folks who were there said it was like looking at a full moon on a clear night. It was that big.

3. Two men in a pick-up truck traveling north along the highway just south of Wycliffe spotted the large bright object flying south. As they watched the large light/object close in on their location they pulled the truck over to the side of the highway,  and jumped out of the vehicle to get a better look.

Due to it being so low, so bright, and passing directly over top of them the light from the object lit up the highway and surrounding area. Both men stood frozen in their tracks and speechless. Both fellows said it moved quickly in a straight line and made no unusual maneuvers. Again no sound was heard which is remarkable due to how close it was to these men, and all the other witnesses.

The above is a small example of what folks saw that night. There are many more reports here of area residents reporting seeing the same thing.

A Few Of The Eye Witness Accounts - Beam Of Light (July 28, 2003)

One lady said what she saw was very strange, it didn't behave like the northern lights as she noted that the lights danced across the sky, or looked like a curtain of shimmering light. She wondered if the long dry hot weather may have something to do with what she was seeing. But her thoughts changed quickly as she watched the beam of light come from the northwest horizon and impaled itself on one of the local hills and that is where it ended, according to this witness.

A party of four witnesses were out for a few days on one of the areas lakes just outside of Kimberley, B.C. Everyone was having a good time talking and having a few spirits. One of the men who was sitting on a camping chair had just poured himself a drink, when he looked up and said to the rest of the people he was with, "do you see what I am seeing"? Everyone replied, "yes"!

The man who asked the question was so surprised at what he was looking at, he poured his drink onto the ground and thought he'd had one to many that evening! They all watched a beam of narrow bright white light run in an arc from horizon to horizon.

First they wondered if it might have been a search light as it was so bright, but they soon ruled this out due to the miles and miles the light covered. Again all these witnesses said this event lasted for approximately one hour before it dissipated.

Some three weeks after people saw the beam of light on July 28, 2003, I had calls from Kelowna and Kimberley British Columbia reporting that the beam of light was back in the night sky. Two Kelowna residents stood on the patio with phone in hand reporting what it was they were seeing. The exact white beam of light sat stationary running from horizon to horizon and was extremely bright.

Four Kimberley residents stood outside watching the beam of light, they reported standing under a street lamp and even with brightness from the street light they could clearly see the beam of light sitting in the dark sky.

Conclusions:

There is no doubt that something very unusual took place on Sunday, July 28, 2003 in the wee hours that morning. What folks saw in all these communities seems to be a mystery. But I have tried to come up with some reasonable answers for all the questions everyone had for me.

Here is what I know:

157 witnesses watched an amazing event unfold on July 28, 2003  (early morning). Some observed the object and others observed the beam of light. (Exact numbers are broken down for how many saw the object or beam of light below. What I didn't say is how many saw both).

31 witnesses observed a huge, bright white low flying light/object.

126 witnesses observed the reported beam of bright white light.

The International Space Station passed over Kimberley, B.C., at 00:24 hrs. on July 27, 2003.

A Fire Ball was observed flying in a southeasterly direction over the West Coast of Canada and the U.S.

Most of the witnesses reported the light/object and beam of light running from the northwest to the southeast.

There would have been a lot of air traffic in some of these areas due to the fire fighting efforts to control the devastating forest fires which raged through some of these areas in the summer of 2003.

Our hearts go out to the people who were effected.

So, the questions that need an be answered are, what was the strange, large, glowing bright object? Did the object cause the beam of light which sat stationary in the night sky for approximately an hour as the object traveled through the areas?

As for the object, this is certainly a mystery. After a lot of time speaking with witnesses, looking at data on astronomical events, checking on the flight paths, seeing if there were aircraft in these areas flying at the time of the sighting, I have come up against a brick wall. I have not found any rational explanation for what people saw that night.

Fireballs for example as far as I know do not make 90 degree turns to another direction. Also seeing that the object was so low, traveling rather slow in many of the reports and not making a sound. This again is certainly strange.

Something else I found rather interesting, was the fact that reported sightings had dropped from my area here in the pacific northwest of British Columbia and reports of unusual crafts of every kind were now being seen and reported by many people residing in the areas from Kamloops, the Okanagan straight through into the Kootenays.

Almost every different shape, color and size have been reported to me. Did the over 800 forest fires attract visitors from above? I am sure we will never really know the answer to that question..... ?

The beam of white light ended up still being as baffling as the object. When reports started coming in I was sure what everyone was seeing was nothing more than the northern lights, but as the list of witnesses grew, and hearing their comments, I started wondering if there was a connection to these unknowns and the beam of white light.

Out of the 126+ witnesses who observed the ray of light running across the night sky from horizon to horizon, only one report was filed saying they believed it to be nothing more than the northern lights. (which I report on below). Everyone else said they have never witnessed anything like in their lives.

All said they have watched the northern lights on many occasions, and in their words "this was not the northern lights".

A radio station host put a question on air to the people in the area, asking "has anyone seen strange lights in the night sky?" I was told reports flooded in over this beam of light, and how everyone was left not knowing what it was they saw.

To be fair to all sides, I placed below an email I received from a person who did have some knowledge in astronomy, weather phenomena and the northern lights. One thing I would like to point out, is that what the gentleman viewed was not on the day of this major event.

The email came from a gentleman who, on the evening of July 26, 2003 and morning of July 27, 2003, stated that a sailing regatta was held by the Kelowna Yacht Club. Although the event discussed in the report above took place in the early morning hours of July 28, 2003, I thought the  report below was important due to how close all of the events were to one another. Plus I want to give both sides on this case.

Mr. Brian Vike

Director HBCC UFO Research (By the way, I no longer operate HBCC UFO Research, but do now operate KBCC UFO Research)

Dear Mr. Vike,

Re: July 27, 2003

On the evening of July 26, 2003 and morning of July 27, a sailing regatta was held by the Kelowna Yacht Club.  It was an overnight race north up Okanagan Lake centered on 50 degrees N. Latitude and 121.5 degrees west.  The race commenced near the yacht club and the course was to be north up Okanagan Lake to Whisky Island and then returning to the Kelowna Yacht Club.

The race was attended by perhaps 100 members of the KYC both as participants and safety patrol boats.

I was one of the participants in this race in the 25 foot sailboat (name deleted by Brian Vike) along with 2 other crew.

The race continued for the entire night of the 26th and almost all of the boats were back into the Kelowna Yacht Club by 10 am of the morning of the 27 of July.

The sky conditions for the night was perfectly clear and very calm without interference from the light of the moon or city lights.  After dusk a typical number of earth-orbiting satellites were observed.  Around 11:30 pm the first appearances of typical shifty northern lights were visible to the north and north-west and continued to be visible on and off until early morning light.

At the peak of the night's darkness, a stable and continuous band of light was present overhead from horizon to horizon in the East/West direction. I  estimate the apparent width of the band of light to be about 10 degrees at the azimuth. No indication of colour was observed in this band, nor did I observe any detail or shadowing effects. This band of light was, however, unusual in it's stability of form and linearity of line.

After this long and slow sailing event, some of the participants commented to me on the display of northern lights.

Nothing that I observed that evening could be attributed to paranormal activity.   The display of light was interesting but certainly not out of the ordinary compared to many other displays that I have observed in my interest of amateur astronomy.

On a side note, one of my duties was a weather observer/recorder in the Canadian arctic while on station on the Distant Early Warning Line in 1967 and 1968 and was privileged to observe many spectacular light shows at that time.  I am convinced that we observed nothing more or less than the Aurora Borealis and a few earth-bound satellites that night and I hope that my observations might shed some light on the matter.

Kind regards,

(Senders name and boat name deleted by Brian Vike).

What folks saw in the early morning hours on July 28, 2003 has left myself and a lot of other people in the UFO field without any solid answers to all of the questions. The one thing I know is that there was an event which took place that left so many residents and myself baffled. It would be nice to be able to supply answers for these mysteries, but all I am left with at this point is another unexplained case!

Also keep in mind that three days later two woman had a missing time experience in Kelowna, British Columbia and the green lights seen on this night were witnessed by others at different locations which backed up their incredible story.

I would like to thank everyone who took the time to write or pick up the telephone to make a call reporting what it was they saw. All of this data is very helpful. I also would like to express my many thanks to the newspapers who ran an article on this event. The information provided readers with the relevant phone number, email address, fax number  etc.. and toll free number so that more of you hopefully will also make a report on anything strange you may have witnessed happening in the skies above.

At the end of the day, there are more questions and answers.

Take good care.

Thank you to everyone for their reports.

Bright Orange Crescent Moon Sized UFO Between Midland And Sanford Michigan

This sighting report was never posted !

Date:  August 2020

Time:  Evening.

Hello, my name is (name removed) and I believe we have witnessed the same unknown phenomena. I live in Sanford, MI and I work in Midland, MI and I witnessed this on my way home from work.

My boyfriend was driving and we saw what looked like the crescent moon, but bright orange straight ahead of us. My stomach dropped when I saw it because I knew for a fact that the moon was directly behind us so I said, “what is that..”, my boyfriend said “the moon!” and I was like “that is NOT the moon”.

So I went on my astronomy app and showed him that there was nothing in front of us, no sun, no planets, just stars. Then, I pointed my phone behind us and there was the moon, exactly where I thought it was.

We stared at it in horror and the reason I didn’t take any pictures is because I was actually terrified and having an existential uncomfortable feeling. It was an actual crescent shape glowing bright orange with what appeared to be a thin cloud in front of it, cutting off 1/4 of the bottom of it.

It kind of looked like if a sunset was behind the night sky and somebody made a curved slit shaped like a crescent and the wound was showing an orange, glowing sunset behind it.

It was pretty low in the sky, but the same size as the moon. It drifted below the tree line as we were driving and then it was gone. I have scoured the internet trying to find any explanation there could be and I only found things like airglow (which would not have been vertical and even if you could see it from earth, it would be greenish blueish) and UFOs that bear no resemblance to a crescent shaped moon.

The only other account of this that I could find on the internet after searching for hours was yours.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Eyewitness Films Moon And Catches Strange Object/UFO From Western Oshawa Ontario (Pictures)

Date:  December 28, 2014
Time:  10:27 p.m.

Happy festive season to you Brian, thanks so much for providing interesting UFO reports at this time.

I have noticed the many recent reports of multiple coloured orange lights reported over our neighbouring town of Whitby, Ontario on your site.

I thought you might find this photograph interesting.

Above Picture: What you are looking for in the photo, is a long coloured object, it is flying horizontally and just right of the chimney.

Yesterday, December 28, 2014 I was testing out my new camera for night shots. I used the moon as a subject to see how well they would turn out.

I took them facing westward towards Whitby, Ontario on my deck in western Oshawa, Ontario. While taking three pictures and examined them later, I noticed in the first picture something odd of a strange long streamlined image.

There appears to be a unknown long orange coloured tip anomaly caught on film at 10:27 p.m.

I have no idea what it truly can be and thought this interesting in conjunction with all the reports over Whitby.

It would appear  that my camera caught something unconventional

At what speed this object was travelling must make one wonder ?

Enjoy and thanks for your time and interest of these unknown sky anomalies.

Green Object Roughly The Size Of The Moon Seen Over Penticton British Columbia

Date:  August 7, 2012
Time:  Approx: 10:45 p.m.

Hi Brian, my name is (name removed) and my friend and I were in Penticton the night of August 7, 2012 when we were stopped at a stop light and he started freaking out telling me to look!

When I looked up there was a green orb really high up in the distance approximately the size of the moon with a V shaped darker object in the center that looked almost like an arrow head.

A few seconds after we started looking at it it dropped down in the sky extremely fast and then disappeared.

We weren't going to tell anyone until I looked it up this morning on your site and found that someone had seen a similar green light about an hour later. I hope you find this interesting.

UFO A Quarter Size The Moon With Wings Like A Bird Seen Flying Over Richmond British Columbia

Date:  August 5, 2012
Time:  Approx: 11:30 p.m. - 11:45 p.m.

Last night, August 5/12, around 11:30/11:45 p.m., I saw something that I thought at first was another shooting star.

I quickly realized, "it" was lit up like the moon (but smaller) and in the shape of a 1/4 moon with wings like a bird traveling from about northwest of us, (Richmond, B.C.) heading south, high in the sky, and then it kind of zig zagged and then disappeared just south of my friend and I.

Minutes later my friend saw a quick, (how he described it) spot light that came from the same area that I saw this shiny object.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Orange Object Three Or Four Times Larger Than The Moon Over Richmond British Columbia

Date:  August 4, 2012
Time:  11:30 p.m.

I live in Richmond, B.C. and thought I would report that on August 4, 2012, at 11:30 p.m., an object in the sky to the north very low, just above the horizon about three or four times as big as the moon and it was orange.

I thought it was the moon, so I didn't think anything of it, but soon after I saw the full moon way higher to the east. So I went to where I could see the other object, but it was gone.

It was so weird I hope someone else saw that too.

Moon Sized UFO Flew Over Cambridge Ontario

Date:  April 3, 2012
Time:  Approx: 9:00 p.m.

On Tuesday around 9:00 p.m. my cousin and I saw a light orb in the sky. It moved fast. It was like a foggy bubble, but it was as if we were looking at the moon (around the same shape and size) and it was transparent. It was not the moon, as we saw that in the opposite direction.

It was very fast, lasting only about 20 seconds or so. I have no idea what I was, if you can shed some light on this for me I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Large Orange Crescent Moon Shaped Object Seen Over Delta British Columbia

Date:  March 25, 2012
Time:  Approx: 10:00 p.m.

My wife and I just saw a strange orange light over Delta, British Columbia near Vancouver airport last night (March 25 2012) around 10:00 p.m.

Orange light was slowly getting brighter than fading.

The difference is this grew in a matter of seconds to a very pronounced, large crescent moon shape, held that position for about 20 seconds.

It than reduced back to a single ball and simply faded out and away.

I've been scouring the internet trying to find other reports, being so close to the airport I imagine others must have seen it.

Huge Orange Colored Light/Ball Seen Over The Moon Café Mattawa Ontario

Date:  December 31, 2011
Time:  Approx: 11:30 p.m.

I saw the light too, I was standing behind The Moon Cafe (Main St. Mattawa) with a friend having a smoke. We looked up and saw it over the mountain.

We were waiting for some other friends to vacate their car so we could point it out to them too, but it disappeared right before they got out!

Very weird, but now I know for sure we are not crazy!

Thin Dark Orange Colored Crescent Moon Seen Over Laval Quebec (Waxing Crescent Moon)

Date:  February 23, 2012
7:00 p.m.

I too saw this I was driving this evening at 7:00 p.m. and noticed the same crescent shape. I was just Googling now to see of there was a solar eclipse this evening and the blog you posted was one of the first results that came up.

When I got home (about 10 minutes ago) I could no longer see it.

Additional Information:

Hi, Oops sorry about that. It was in Laval which is a suburb of Montreal, Quebec. When I first noticed it it was a dark creamy color then seemed to change to a dark orangey color.

And yes it was a crescent moon thin though.

Thinly Shaped Orange Crescent Object Over Ottawa Ontario (Waxing Crescent Moon)

Date:  February 23, 2012
Time:  6:45 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Crescent moon.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Sitting in my living having a conversation with my friend, I noticed out of the corner of my eye a thinly shaped orange crescent.

But instead of being to the left or right, it was down, like a smile. Confused, I asked my friend if there was an eclipse or something tonight. Looking at me funny, she responded with no, and that I was looking out west, the moon wouldn't be on this side yet.

So I got up, went to the window to get a closer look, to which the shape got violent bright and looked to be tilting itself to the right. Once it was completed shift sideways, and faded into what looked like a faint star before completely disappearing.

I’m pretty skeptical most of the time and always talk myself out of actually seeing a UFO, but this was clear as day in the sky.

Orange Crescent Moon Object And Red Lights Over Beaverton Ontario Canada

Date: October 1, 2011
Time: Approx: 9:30 p.m.

Thanks.

Moon Sized Object Seen At Brentwood Bay Central Saanich British Columbia

Date: December 6, 2010
Time: 7:30 a.m.

Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: round.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Hi Brian, I'm glad to see you are back posting. I hope this means your health problems have improved.

I delayed in sending this to you as I got busy and you seemed to be inundated with reports. I didn't want to add to your load!

However, I did see something unusual early Monday December 6th, 2010 in the southeastern sky. My husband and I had been babysitting two young family members overnight at their home. About 7:30am we were driving east, along a narrow country road, to drop the children at school before continuing back to our own home in Victoria. The sky was clear and bright with only a few wispy clouds on the eastern horizon. It was about half an hour before sunrise.

At one point I glanced to the southeast about where the sun would be rising and saw lovely full moon just above the horizon. It was very large, as the full moon usually seems to be at moonrise. A few of the wispy clouds were across its face, but it was very visible. It was pale and almost translucent, its normal appearance in the daytime sky. I saw it long enough to say "wow look at the full moon" before it was obscured by trees on the side of the road. No one else had a chance to see it.

From the school yard I did not see it, although that part of the sky was visible. On the half hour drive home I did not see it although part of the drive was on a ridge with a clear view to the south east. By the time I got home I was puzzled and a bit annoyed that I did not see it again. By then the sun had risen.

It wasn't until much later that I realized you cannot have a full moon and the sun both rising at the same time. I checked the moon rise schedule and found that on that day there was a new moon, which means it is not visible at any time that day or night.

So any ideas on just what I did see and did anyone else notice it too?

Actually, I have a theory as to why some people see things and other don't, based on historical and anecdotal events but this is not the time to go into all that. :-)

Thanks for listening Brian.
