Lights Spotted Over Parksville Vancouver Island British Columbia

March 24, 2012
Time:  9:30 p.m. – 10:10 p.m.

I am just letting you know that myself and two other friends saw all those lights in the sky. We were on the beach, Columbia beach in Parksville area. Anyway we saw the lights very clear, red and green flashing in the sky out in front of us.

We all made a joke that it was a UFO and I guess the laugh is on us this time.

We were wondering if others saw them too. It is nice to know that there was others. It was very cool to watch and see them fly around kind of.

Flying Object Could Have Been Chopper

The report of strange lights in the sky over Parksville last weekend could well have been a helicopter, says UFO researcher Brian Vike, except for one important detail.

The object, seen by two witnesses between 9:30 and 10:10 p.m. on Saturday, March 24 night, made no sound.

Bright Hovering UFO Seen By Two Witnesses Over Parksville Vancouver Island British Columbia

March 24, 2012
Time:  9:45 p.m.

Hello Vike, when we read about the sightings here in Parksville, and we realized that what we saw the same night was likely related.

We had been out for the evening and were driving onto Banks Avenue west here in Parksville, at approximately 9:45 p.m. when we noticed a large pulsating light in the sky.

We were at the corner of Banks and Acacia Street looking northward toward Parksville Bay at that time.

We estimated that the light which shone brightly, and appeared to be larger than the street lights in that area was coming from an unusual source that we had never seen before.

Given the angle at which we saw it, it appeared to be hovering just above the tree line and could have been located close to or over Parksville Bay.

At first we thought that it may have been a military maneuver of some kind. Just moments later when we got out of the car to take a closer look, it was no longer visible.

We would appreciate knowing more about what we saw if you have any further thoughts on this. Best regards.

Yellow Colored Lights In The Sky Seen From Scarborough Ontario

Date:  March 29, 2012
Time:  Evening.

We saw them too in Scarborough over the water. They were actually in exactly the same spot we saw them in November! This time, however, only 2 lights showed, last time 3 did.

The lights actually were off and on for close the 3 hours. I sat at my window watching them all night. They would dim out when planes would come too close, though at one point it stayed on while there were about 6 planes flying towards it, and then it disappeared.

This is the 2nd time I have seen them, though I thought I saw them twice earlier this week as well, but they didn't stay on for long enough to really tell.

Orange Glowing Ball Of Light Over Pembroke Ontario

Date:  Mid to late Summer 2010 (?)
Time:  Evening.

My friend and I both saw an orange glowing ball in the sky (very similar, if not exactly the same thing these folks witnessed) about 2 years ago in the evening.

We were on his back deck having a smoke when we looked up and both saw it. We were at his house, right near the corner of Mary St. and Trafalgar. Oh and this was mid to late summer.

Additional Information:

Hi Again Brian.

You're very much welcome. The exact address if you would like to street view the location is: (removed exact address) Pembroke, ON, Canada.

If you go down the road a bit to get a look at the garage of the place, you can get a pretty good idea of where we were. We were on the other side of the garage on the back deck which you will be unable to see.

While looking at the house (as a point of reference for you) the area that the orange glowing ball was seen was off in the distance to the upper left of the roof of the house, towards Petawawa (which means it could potentially have something to do with the military base that is there (in Petawawa), even though I worked on the base for about two years and never saw anything like it while I was working there).

Hope I made that clear enough and feel free to message me again if you have further questions.

Bright Light And Dull Object Moving Across The Sky Over Canmore Alberta

Date:  March 24, 2012
Time:  Approx: 10:00 p.m.

I noticed this bright light in the western sky from Canmore, Alberta last night. The two other people I was with also acknowledged this and at one point (10:00 p.m.) all three of us saw a significantly smaller and duller light moving straight 'up' towards the bright star.

The speed of the smaller light was quite fast, but was much slower than shooting stars I've seen in the past. To be more precise, it covered several inches of sky as it closed in on the bright star in about 5-10 seconds.

It was long enough for us to comment on what we were seeing. The smaller light intersected the bright light and there was nothing more.

What was the bright light? Could the flash mentioned by 'Anonymous' in Calgary be the result of a collision? What was the dull object travelling through space?

My curiosity has been peaked if anyone has any answers.

Orange Colored Object Changes Directions A Few Time Seen Over Maple Ridge British Columbia

Date:  March 21, 2012
Time:  Approx: 4:20 a.m. – 4:45 a.m.

My neighbor, girlfriend and myself all saw orange lights in the sky. In Maple Ridge, B.C. One was moving slowly back and forth across the sky slowly but sometimes faster. Saw similar lights a couple years ago but the lights didn't move.

Additional Information:

I have seen them several times. My neighbor saw them one night recently by himself. The sighting I was referring to happened last Wednesday March 21 around 4:20 a.m. – 4:45 a.m. on river road in Maple Ridge.

I got up to go pee, well I was going I was staring out the window towards the west sky. I saw the orange light super high up it looked like a star, but orange. Then I noticed it was slowly moving north, but then went back the other way.

It switched directions a few times and it was moving really slow. Then it started going south way faster noticeably moving across the sky, it was really freaky.

It stopped moving and I kept watching for a few minutes.

Then I went back to bed, when it didn't move. I got up again around 5:15 a.m. and the light was gone. Then a few days later, can't remember the exact date, I was in the backyard with my girlfriend around 9:00 p.m. or 10:00 p.m.

She noticed a orange light towards the west, it stared moving south.

We lost sight of it behind the trees. It was very weird, there has to be other people that saw this, I wonder why it gets no media attention. What the heck is it?  Have you heard of a lot of similar sightings? Do you have any idea what it could possibly be?

Flickering Ball Of Orange Flame Spotted Over Mount Seymour North Vancouver British Columbia

Date:  Late August early September 2011
Time:  Approx: 10:00 p.m.

A group of us seen something like this flying over our heads in Seymour. Interesting!

Additional Information:

I'm not really sure of the date. I guess it was around late August early September of last year. It had to be a weekend and the Moon was about full 3/4 or more. The sky was lit up pretty well and it was about 10:00 p.m. or so.

A group of about 7 of us were standing outside when we had seen what looked like a fireball traveling through the air at a good amount of speed. At first I thought it could've been a meteor from the distance we first seen it.

It was traveling northeast. As it grew closer, I then thought it could be an engine on a plane on fire. I didn't hear any noise as it flew right over our heads (lower than what an airplane flies).

We could visibly see that it was nothing more than a flickering ball of orange flame.

Like I said, the night was well lit and I am aware of what Chinese lanterns look like when lit in the sky, but this object was directly above us and was moving at low altitude close enough to see actual fire with no tracer coming off of the end of it.

We watched it until it disappeared out of our field of vision. It was pretty amazing.

Bright Light Spotted Over Parksville Vancouver Island British Columbia

Date:  March 24, 2012
Time:  Evening.

I was responding to the article written this week in the local Parksville newspaper. I was driving home north bound towards Parksville, from Port Renfrew on Saturday evening, and also noticed the very bright light in the sky over the Parksville area.

It was in one large bright light in the sky that didn't move. I also noticed just before taking the Parksville turn off, that there were red and green flashing lights around the object.

I thought it might be a helicopter from Comox using their bright search light (night sun light) but the light was much to bright.

I thought it was very odd, and returned to our home shortly after, and thought nothing more of it until I read the article in the paper last night. Cheers.

Massive V Shaped UFO Over The Water Just Passed Mill Bay Vancouver Island British Columbia

Date:  Ten years ago (roughly 2002)
Time:  Around 10:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Hi there, Interesting read in the paper yesterday and these do exist. These objects have been coming to the island for awhile now.

I did not personally witness the visit to Parksville, but I have seen one of these about 16 years ago on my way back to Victoria (at the time).

Both of us saw it. It was late around 10:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. at the time, just passed Mill Bay and starting to head up the Malahat, when we looked over (towards the water on the right hand side) and saw these huge red and white lit lights, V shaped thing, suspended in the sky over the tree line, quite close to the highway.

There was no noise and it was absolutely massive whatever it was. It was there for a few minutes and then it was gone. I can totally vouch for what the people saw, no doubt in my mind.

I even sent the link to my ex and his reaction was “holy crap!”. My ex seems to believe that we had lost time somehow, but I think it was mostly due to slowing down to get a good look, because I wasn’t going to pull over and actually stop.

The only thing I can come away with after this experience is, feeling like we are a proverbial ant farm and  the government couldn’t own a garage big enough to house that in, nor would they have the tech to have something so big floating in the air and make no noise.

It just defies description really and a little mind blowing to realize that we are not alone in this universe.

Thanks for the read in the paper, I am definitely not crazy and neither are they. Sincerely.

Unknown Lights Seen From Qualicum Beach Vancouver Island British Columbia

Date:  March 24, 2012
Time:  Approx: 7:00 p.m.

Referring to the article in the Parksville News, we too saw strange lights on Saturday night.  We were looking at Mount Arrowsmith and saw lights moving up and down the mountain.

They were at different altitudes, separated by what looked like, several hundred feet. We saw white and red lights moving and thought it was very strange.

It was before darkness set in, so it was approximately 7:00 p.m. We were looking from our home in Qualicum Beach and had never seen lights on the mountain before.

We would be interested to know if anybody else saw lights at that time.

Triangular Shaped Craft Seen By Others Over Qualicum Beach British Columbia

Date:  Over the last four years. (reported posted March 28, 2012
Time:  Evenings.

Mr. Brian Vike, today, March 27, 2012 we read your article in the Parksville/Qualicum local news. Surprised to hear that others saw a similar object that my son, husband and I witnessed from our back patio.

It was really large, triangular shaped with bright coloured flashing lights, and very high up off to the right. We live in Qualicum Beach facing west towards Arrowsmith Mountain.

My husband said he has seen it many times in the last 2 years. Sincerely.

Additional Information:

Hi Brian, it was definitely not a helicopter, since the flashing lights were far brighter than the marker lights of any helicopter I have ever seen.

The object appeared to be in excess of a mile away from us, and all though the night air was still we did not hear any sound resembling that of a aircraft or helicopter.

My husband has seen the object from time to time over the last 4 years. Due to this last sighting and confirmation in the local news, we are now convinced that the object we saw was surreal.

Two Bright Objects Spotted Over Prince George British Columbia (Venus And Jupiter)

Date:  Week of March 20 to the 25, 2012
Time:  Evenings.

I think that everyone is sighting the bright object in the sky. It is unusually large and bright. It has been all week. I wondered if it is one of the fragment of the sun that we heard are breaking off and coming into our atmosphere.

Additional Information:

Yes, the two objects are aligned and in the west. On further inquiries I understand them to be the planets Jupiter and Venus and they are close to the moon. I have just returned from north of Prince George, B.C. and these bright planets were very visible there as well. Even easier to see than here in  southern B.C.

Orange Colored Lights Seen From Little Bluff Park In Prince Edward County Ontario (Illumination Flares)

Date:  March 27, 2012
Time:  4:20 a.m.

I saw the light from my house and thinking that there was a fire at the cement plant. I grabbed my camera and went for a drive.

A half hour later I arrived near Little Bluff Park in Prince Edward County.

Picture Left: Click on the photo for larger view.

The lights went out after a little while and as I sat waiting for their return, a low flying plane came in from the west (direction of Trenton Air Base) it began to circle the area over the lake.

The lights were very bright and settled slowly to the water, except for one of them which fell from a great height and went straight down.

You can see the smoke reflecting off the light in the pictures attached, which leads me to think it's flares. I don't imagine that UFOs are running on diesel fuel. Thanks.

Large Orange Crescent Moon Shaped Object Seen Over Delta British Columbia

Date:  March 25, 2012
Time:  Approx: 10:00 p.m.

My wife and I just saw a strange orange light over Delta, British Columbia near Vancouver airport last night (March 25 2012) around 10:00 p.m.

Orange light was slowly getting brighter than fading.

The difference is this grew in a matter of seconds to a very pronounced, large crescent moon shape, held that position for about 20 seconds.

It than reduced back to a single ball and simply faded out and away.

I've been scouring the internet trying to find other reports, being so close to the airport I imagine others must have seen it.

Time:  8:45 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 3
Number of Objects: Up to 4.
Shape of Objects: Bright orange lights.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: My son first notice from his bedroom window looking north over Lake Ontario large bright lights stationary staying for quite sometime.

Then they slowly started fading out then coming back just as bright. Then some would show up in another area of the sky, all the while obvious planes were flying around them and these lights did not move.

I was witnessing the same thing as my son, we had two sets of binoculars watching these perfectly round bright orange orbs.  I didn't quite know what to make of the whole thing.

They finally stopped after 9:00 p.m.  Just to add that they were quite large as well, much larger then the passing planes in the same area of the sky. Thank you, I hope someone else saw the same.

Time:  9:00 p.m.

I was just at a friends in Stouffville, Ontario and was looking at the stars when we saw three orangey red lights in a triangle formation gliding across the sky.

It was moving at average speed, making no noise. My friend and I were blown away and didn't know what it could have been, so I Googled it and found this.

I have Goosebumps, the lights looked like C's in a triangle formation, and then disappeared into the night sky seen at 9:00 p.m. eastern time

Witness Drove Their Vehicle Underneath Triangular Shaped UFO Outside Of Parksville British Columbia

March 24, 2012
Time:  9:30 p.m. – 10:10 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 4
Shape of Objects: Triangle/circle?

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Last night my friend was driving the two of us back home to Victoria, after taking a trip up to Courtney/Comox for the day.

It was around 9:30 p.m. when we just finished passing the Parksville turn off, heading towards Nanaimo, when we both noticed a really big, bright light, ahead and off to the right and up about 500-600 feet or so.

My first thought was, that it was just air traffic signal, lights on top of a transformer tower, but as we neared closer to it, one could see that it was not sitting on top of anything, but instead hovering in one place, and what looked like it was only only a couple hundred feet above the top of the tree line.

At this time you could see the very bright red, white, and sometimes green lights flashing and staying on. After a few twists and turns on the road, we ended up driving right underneath it and watching it as we passed.

After we passed it, it quickly flew away and to the right, behind us.

We were both amazed at what we just witnessed, and just as equally confused.

It didn't end there. As we kept driving along I noticed that somewhat higher in the sky was another flying object, with similar, erratic colours and flashing light, traveling towards Victoria direction.

There was at the time a pretty big range of view and it was very clear out, so we decided to pull over, get out of the truck and watch this thing.

As it sailed away, it went from being white and red light, to no light, to turning a very, very bright red light. Almost a big ball of red light, it flew into the distant tree lines, and out of view.

We then saw another flying at a lower altitude, then hovering in one place for a while, before flying passed our sights.

It was hard to catch proper shapes, but the first one that we saw, which was definitely at a pretty close range, looked more like a triangle. The others kind of looked like the red, green, and white lights were sometimes flashing around the hole thing as if it were a circular shape.

I'm not to sure concretely of actual shape, but I do know that planes, nor helicopters look like or do what these objects did and looked like, that's for damn sure. Made for a really exciting trip back to Victoria.

I am interested to know if anyone else saw them last night? Thanks for reading.

Mystery Light Changes Shapes And Color Seen Over Brentwood Bay Saanich British Columbia

Date:  March 20, 2012
Time:  From 9:40 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The lights were in the east and appeared to move in northeastern direction following the Malahat over the course of the 30 minutes. I live near the ferry in Saanichton.

Easily 100km. I grabbed my wife to verify what I was seeing, that’s when we saw it start moving around oddly. It was not staying still.

When I first saw it it looked like a very pronounced star.  I could clearly see 5 points.  That’s when I couldn’t take my eyes off it as I noticed the blue haze around it.  Then it morphed, it changed into a ball and started going up and down and side to side.  Every time I felt like I focused on it, it dimmed out.

I saw this too from Brentwood Bay, British Columbia. It was dancing in the sky and changing shapes/colors for about 20 minutes. Sometimes getting very bright and other times fading out.

My wife and I watched this mystery light in the sky for quite some time last night. Roughly from 9:40 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. My video doesn’t do it justice, I know what I saw and it was nothing created on this earth.

I’m so happy to find another witnesses post, people think I am crazy.

Three Large Bright Orange Glowing Lights Spotted Over Lakefield Ontario

Date:  March 24, 2012
Time:  Approx: 8:00 p.m.

Brian, I see by your blog you are documenting incidences of strange phenomena. I thought you might be interested in a sighting I had in Lakefield. Last night (March 24th) at about 8:00 p.m., dusk. I observed three large bright orange glowing lights fairly high in the sky.

They were well spaced apart, but moving in unison, silently and slowly in a line across the sky from southwest to northeast until they disappeared behind the clouds. UFO's ? military drones ?

May it was something to do with that night's NDP leadership convention in Toronto? (they were the right colour :-) I'd be interested to know what your theory is on this.

Red Lights Spotted Over Nanaimo On Vancouver Island British Columbia

Date:  March 19, 2012
Time:  Around 10:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Hey, I was home on the night of March 19th, 2012 when I got a phone call from my friend telling me he was watching some sort of UFO in the sky.

He told me to look out my window. I live in one of the high rises in downtown Nanaimo. I looked out towards the Hospital, but the lights had already gone.

I then went out on my deck and looked back as 2 red lights re-appeared in the sky over towards the hospital, they moved slowly upwards in an irregular pattern.

This all happened at around 10:00-10:30 March 19th, 2012 It was wild.

More Bright Flashes Seen Over Southwest Calgary Alberta

Date:  March 25, 2012
Time:  4:38 a.m.

I saw that exact same thing today March 25, 2012 at 4:38 a.m. from southwest Calgary, Alberta when I was having a smoke.

The this light flash goes off, and it was kind of blinding, then it stopped, then a second one went off.

It was almost like a flash bang grenade being thrown in front of you, as it was really bright.
Had to stop and sit, because I couldn’t really see anything after the 2nd one went off.

Bright White Light Seen In The Sky From Southwest Calgary Alberta

Date:  March 21, 2012
Time:  11:00 p.m.

Hi, I was just wondering what that light is in the western sky, and found your website. I tried to take a picture of it. But my flash reflected the neighbour's balcony.

Has anyone written in to say what it is? Have you heard anything? Is it a satellite?

Additional Information:

I was watching from southwest Calgary, Alberta, Canada, looking due west at 11:00 p.m. last night, March 21, 2012. I actually first noticed it at 9:30 p.m. as I was leaving a meeting and someone said, I'd like to know what that bright light in the sky is.

All of us (three people) looked up and acknowledged it there. One of the people thought it might be a satellite.

The light was bright white, but not round, multi-sided, multi-pointed. Looked like a star, but much, much closer.

I checked an astronomy site online, and they said Jupiter would be visible in the night sky in March. Maybe it was just Jupiter. I couldn't make out the sky maps on their site, but last night the sky was completely clear.

I could see Orion, the Big Dipper and other constellations I don't know the names for.

The bright, star-like light I saw was significantly west of Orion.

I watched for about a half hour, and it seemed to have a soft glow around it for a few minutes, then cleared again. It didn't move or change position in the sky.

When I looked again at around 12:30, the constellations had moved west and were lower in the sky, and I couldn't see the unusual bright, white light I'm referring to here. If it was a star or Jupiter, perhaps the earth's rotation just took it out of my line of sight around the corner of my apartment building.

Hope this helps.

Two Eyewitnesses Get A Great Look At Orange Colored UFO Over Edmonton Alberta

Date:  December 24, 2011
Time:  Between 9:00 p.m. and midnight.

Hi, I'm sorry my report is so late after the date of occurrence, but I feel kind of obligated to corroborate what others saw this last Christmas eve/morning in Edmonton over the Riverbend area.

To be specific, I was in the Terwillegar Towne neighborhood with my ex-girlfriend when we saw it. I see a previous post mentioned 4 orange lights in a row over the same area, heading in the same direction (roughly south to north).

That description fits my own observation except for the formation of the 4 lights, they weren't in a straight line (row) when I saw them. I'll describe it in better detail:

My girlfriend at the time was house-sitting for a family that was on vacation for the holidays. I went to visit her there that night so she wouldn't have to spend Christmas Eve alone. We were watching TV in the basement when the dog (whom she was taking care of as part of the house-sitting duties) started barking.

We thought maybe the dog had to pee again, so we went upstairs and let it outside in the back yard. While waiting on the porch for the dog to finish doing its business, I looked at the sky and noticed an orange light near the south-south-western horizon moving steadily towards us.

It was still quite distant at this point and I immediately assumed it was a plane or helicopter. However, it caught my attention because of its orange color. I had seen that orange in the sky only once before, and that was 5 or 6 years earlier when a big group of my friends and I saw a strange orange sphere flying erratically over Lac La Biche one summer.

That was my only other sighting, but I never reported that one anywhere or took it particularly seriously as we were all University students at the time drinking and celebrating summer.

Anyhow, the orange colour caught my attention because it reminded me of my previous (and only other) sighting. I pointed it out to my girlfriend and said "hey, look at that light".

She looked at it, but didn't think it unordinary or even worthy of comment. And I didn't either. I still assumed it was a plane at that point. But while she watched and waited for the dog I continued to watch the light approach to see if it was a plane or if it was a helicopter.

About 40 seconds later it was now close enough to see that it didn't appear to be either of those things. I thought it might be one of those paper-lantern hot-air balloon things people launch for special occasions.

After all, the object seemed self-illuminated from an internal source, the coloration looked just like a candle behind paper, it had a 'weightlessness' to its movement, and being Christmas eve, it certainly was a special occasion.

I had never seen a flying paper lantern before (though I'd seen videos of them on YouTube) so I once again turned my girlfriend's attention toward the now much closer light, asking her "what is that light anyway?". We both watched it, and as it was much closer and still unidentifiable she was now as captivated by it as me.

It was difficult to judge its speed, size and altitude, but I can say this much, it was flying at a height quite a bit lower than a commercial airplane. I would say somewhere around the height that the police helicopter in our city fly’s at (whatever that may be).

It was relatively low. It was round and I guessed its diameter to be about the length of a car. And I would say its speed was perhaps 60 kilometers per hour. However, with that being said, I should probably report that my girlfriend disagreed and thought it was somewhat bigger than my estimates and that it flew a bit higher (but we both agreed it was much too low for a plane).

Its trajectory was fixed in a linear path from south-south-west to north-north-east, and it passed almost perfectly directly above us. It flew at a smooth fixed velocity at a fixed altitude, and it seemed more like it floated or hovered like a balloon or helicopter more than it seemed propelled like a plane.

As it flew directly over us, we had a much better view of it. It was a solid glowing orange (absolutely no flickering or pulsating), and wasn't just a light so much as the object itself was glowing or self-illuminated. It was perfectly circular from below, and seemed circular during its approach too which leads me to believe it was spherical in shape.

Once I was directly below it, I could faintly make out an 'X' or 'cross'-shaped marking on the bottom, two bars crossed at 90 degrees and meeting at the center of the sphere, perfectly marking the orange circle off into 4 equal parts (like a pie cut horizontally and then vertically).

This marking indicates there was either an X-shaped device hanging from below the orange sphere, or that the orange sphere was actually 4 glowing objects traveling in a very tight grouping so as to almost appear as one object. But to be completely honest my first impression was of something hanging below it, and not 4 objects in a tight circle.

Even less distinct was a spinning motion around the object, but much less faster than a helicopter blade would go. Whatever was spinning around it, was not lit and was as dark and black as the night sky, so I can hardly be sure that I saw something, but I definitely thought there was something spinning around it.

The object was completely silent, and it was an incredibly quiet night to begin with. It made no noise at all (unlike a plane or helicopter). From the moment I saw it to the moment it passed over us and out of sight beyond the other side of the house couldn't have lasted more than 4 or 5 minutes, but may have been as short as a minute or two (I'm afraid I can't remember any better than that).

We had no sense of fear or foreboding upon seeing it, but rather curiosity and later excitement when we both agreed it was a flying object that neither of us had any plausible notion for identifying it with.

I don't think my girlfriend ever believed in UFOs before, and certainly never expected to see one in her life (and I definitely never expected to see a second one in my life!). But after witnessing that object she could not deny that she had seen something rare and unusual.

I wish I could remember the specific time this sighting occurred, but it was likely sometime between 9:00 p.m. and midnight.

Anyway. I'm not the type to believe I saw anything alien, but I also know that what I saw was out of the ordinary. I hope documenting my account can lend credence to others who may have witnessed the same thing we saw, and maybe in some way help determine and solve the exciting mystery that is the identity of that orange object!

Thanks for your time!

After Witness Views Saucer Shaped UFO It Causes Pain And Swollen Eyes At New Westminster British Columbia

Date:  March 1970
Time:  Approx: 2:30 a.m.

Hello Brian, here is my account of a sighting in March 1970.

I was living in New Westminster in a home on E.6th. Avenue, which is at the top of a hill looking east up the Fraser River. The Port Man bridge is visible as well as the Royal Columbian Hospital in the foreground and at that time, the Penitentiary.

From my bedroom on the second floor I had an unobstructed view right up the river.

At around 2:30 am I was awakened by an intense light shining through the uncurtained window. I got up and saw a very large object which was between the bridge and my location, maybe about 2 miles.

It was like 2 dishes put together, dull pewter in colour with a band of rotating square lights in between, with some of the colours very hard to describe, mostly with a purple tinge.

Every 30 seconds or so a beam of white light shot out of the centre bottom to the water's surface. No sound at all.

A fighter jet was clearly visible and audible flying around this object.
I got out the binoculars and had a really fantastic view of events for about 6 or 7 minutes when the craft shot up and away at immense speed, leaving the jet heading up the river.

My eyes hurt and felt gritty. They were so painful and swollen the next day that I had to have cortisone drops. It took about ten days to see properly again.
I didn't tell anyone for quite a few years as I feared being ridiculed.
Since then I have known many people who have had sightings in various countries and have hoped to have another myself!

Perhaps this sighting may match up with information you may have. Good luck with your endeavors. Regards.

Sarnia Ontario Airspace UFO Activity

In a similar vein, we live just west of London in Sarnia. Just south of here (and just south of London) is one of the busiest air traffic corridors on earth.

It seems to be an effective cover for UFO activity, since they "mix it up" with the local aircraft.

They appear somewhat similar to our aircraft, but there is always some element missing, or different. For example, we will observe a steady bright light crossing the sky from SW to NE precisely, but no strobes or wing lights.

Also, the light will be very steady, like DC lamps whereas aircraft use 400 Hertz frequency power for their lights and a person can "feel" the difference between AC and DC-powered light.

Sometimes they seem to know that we are watching them, even though they seem to be miles away.

Vike Factor Note: For the above report, the person was referring to this sighting: “Triangular UFO With Dozens Of Lights On It Seen In The Sky Southwest Of London Ontario” http://canadaufo.blogspot.ca/2012/03/triangular-ufo-with-dozens-of-lights-on.html
