Inside The Mind Of Brian Vike

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Newspaper Article.

From The Merriam Webster Dictionary:

Main Entry: para·nor·mal

Function: adjective

* Not scientifically explainable*

"There are more things in Heaven and Earth Horatio,

Than are dreamt of in your philosophy" - William Shakespeare.

Brian Vike, Director of HBBC UFO Research, has kindly taken the time to answer a few questions for our PROOF readers. A web search on Brian reveals hits in the thousands. He isn't a ghost hunter,  if your home has a spirit, contact PROOF.  But, if you have seen some unexplainable lights in the sky, or perhaps a large hairy beast strolling in your back yard, he is the man to tell. Virtually everyday, you will find him at his keyboard, typing as fast as his fingers can type.

Getting reports filed & online. Folks from literally all over the world, find their way to Mr. Vike. He has provided a safe & well established site for UFO reports. Everyday average folks like you & me, as well as a vast number of reports from the military & government officials end up on his site. From Argentina to Nova Scotia, & everywhere in between. A regular guest on the Jeff Rense show, The Wayne & Jayne show, and has made appearances on countless others.

Proof Tracey:  Brian, I would like to thank you for taking the time to let our PROOF readers get to know you better.

Could you share a little bit about HBCCUFO.org & what you hope to see accomplished from it?

Brian Vike: HBCC UFO Research was formed due to the interest I have in the UFO topic. This going back many years from watching Sci-Fi movies, etc. I later got into astronomy and belonged to two different organizations. One being in the United States called the American Variable Star Observers and the other The Royal Astronomical Association of Canada. Actually I was going to focus mainly on investigating UFO sightings from here in British Columbia, Canada. But due to the large amount of sighting reports that came in, I soon moved HBCC UFO Research to covering sightings worldwide. Of course the idea is to try to solve the many cases that arrive here. Most are explainable, and then there are the ones that leave me scratching my head. Right now I am taking HBCC UFO Research International with hopes of offering people a better service.

Proof Tracey: At this point, all we can do is offer our opinions, theories, thoughts on life beyond this planet. Keeping that in mind, & going through your archived reports & comparing that to more recent years, it seems the UFO reports are on the rise. Do you think UFO activity has increased in current years, or do you think it is just a matter of more people coming forward with what they have witnessed, as when in earlier years, they might have seen something, but not come forward in fear of ridicule?

Brian Vike: I certainly do believe UFO activity has increased and is increasing every year. I guess the population is growing each and every year by millions, more folks to possibly observe something. Also I do believe that people are becoming more open minded to the idea that there may be life out there somewhere. But of course, if there is life, do they have the means to travel the great distances to get here? Always more questions than answers it seems. The internet has become the tool of choice by many filing reports, it is easy to file a report, plus they still can keep in the shadows from others, who may ridicule them, but the ridicule factor is still here and we loose a lot of reports due to people not wanting to get involved.

Proof Tracey:  Brian what advice would you give to someone that has encountered a UFO, but is hesitant or embarrassed to report it?

Brian Vike: My advice to anyone who has been witness to a UFO sighting would be, look around for someone in the field you can hopefully feel comfortable with. Someone who will protect your privacy at all costs. Not passing your personal information "to anyone" for any reason. Matter of fact I have run into just this, other UFO people believe my privacy policy is wrong to some degree and believing I should pass a witnesses private information along to them so they can look into each reported sighting, this of course without a witnesses prior permission. But due to my privacy policy, which is strict, I will not give out any witness's information. I state this on my site and follow my own guidelines. If we want people to file a report, then we better respect these people and get permission from each of them to pass their personal information along to someone else. I believe this is one of the most important areas of UFOlogy. Speaking for myself, anyone who sends their UFO report to HBCC UFO, they can be assured that their personal information will stay here with me. Also people shouldn't feel hesitant or embarrassed about filing a report, if you see something then I would suggest reporting it. Like yourselves, I am looking for the answer to what you saw, and I am sure you also would like to have an answer. Plus millions are seeing unusual sights, you're not alone.

Proof Tracey:  Indeed excellent advice & a wonderful policy Brian!

Proof Tracey:  Could you give us your personal definition of UFOlogy?

Brian Vike: I guess my definition for UFOlogy would be trying to solve the large question, is there life out there and are or were they here.

Proof Tracey: What got you interested in UFO research?

Brian Vike: My love for astronomy and the unexplained is what pretty much got me into UFOlogy, I like a good mystery. Plus if hard evidence could be provided to say they are here or visiting our planet, this would be earth shattering news.

Proof Tracey: Have you ever encountered a UFO?

Brian Vike: Yes I have been witness to a UFO; certainly it was and still is an unexplained event. This sighting took place here where I reside, in Houston, British Columbia and was witnessed by others and excellent video footage was taken. When one watches something such as I did that is so unusual, it really can be a life changing experience.

Proof Tracey: Amazing!!

Proof Tracey: Looking back on some reports sent to you, & taking into consideration, that there are several different types of reported UFOs, what are your thoughts on whether there may be more than one type of life beyond our galaxy?

Brian Vike: There is the possibility of there being more than one kind, or type of life form out there. We hear stories on just this topic all the time. But once again, these are stories related to us and as it stands right now, I have no proof to back up any of these claims people make. Until we do receive the hard evidence, we will still wonder.

Proof Tracey: Brian, are there any current projects you are working on that you would like to share with our readers?

Brian Vike: I haven't anything big in the works; I am slowly putting together a yearly magazine which will carry only the best of the best cases. I am also trying to put together a documentary, having the best of the best cases told. Other than this, just keeping busy with looking into the many reports I receive.

Proof Tracey: In all the years of reports you have received, what are some consistencies & similarities that you have found within these reports? I.e. no sound when UFO was present.

Brian Vike: Of course there are a number of different objects/crafts being observed, but still there are similarities. You noted about the sound, most unknowns witnessed seem to not produce any sound. Lights on objects are similar in color or shape. Many objects around airports and military bases look close to being the same shape and having the same features. I guess there is a good variety of them out there, but still many carry the same similarities.

Proof Tracey:  In the past, I have watched documentaries that have dealt with USOs (Unidentified Submerged Objects) Have you received reports of USOs?

Brian Vike: I may have received maybe two reports on USOs, many above water, but not much has come in where a craft is observed going in and out of a body of water.

Proof Tracey: What drives you to keep going with your research?

Brian Vike: Basically trying to find the answer, are they here! Also I really do enjoy listening to someone tell their story of what they saw. This can be amazing.

Proof Tracey: Can you tell us a little bit about The Vike Report?

Brian Vike: The Vike Report is the actual eyewitness retelling what experience they had, either a UFO sighting or a Missing Time event. I placed 127 of these audio reports onto two CD which I have for sale on my website. I had them free for everyone at one point until there got to be so many MP3 clips that I had to remove them from the website due to the clips taking up a ton of bandwidth. But these are the eyewitnesses telling me their stories in a telephone interview.

Proof Tracey:  Any advice for the avid sky watcher?

Brian Vike: Any advice I would give to a sky watcher would be when observing something strange, make notes. Try to remember as much detail as possible about what you saw. If others are with you, please have them file a report as well. Someone always sees something just a little different and their information is so helpful. But the main thing is to have the date, time and as much detail as possible. Anything that may be left out, I will write the witness back to see what other information they may not have provided in their report.

Proof Tracey: Excellent advice Brian.

Proof Tracey:  Do you have any reports that have really stuck with you, & why?

Brian Vike: Gosh yes, I have a number of report or cases that I am still baffled over. One for example is the * Missing Time case out of Kelowna B.C. It really is frustrating when one spends so much time and can't get the answers to solve the mystery. There was and still is lots of physical evidence to say something weird happened that night. Many witnessed watch objects in the sky that night and even in the area where the missing time took place.  But to this day, this has to be one of the most frustrating cases for me, all due to never getting answers from the ones who would know. If it military or some other official. There are also many more cases like this I haven't a clue over as to what happened, or I should say what caused the event.

Proof Tracey:  Many of our readers might be intrigued to know, that in addition to UFO reports that you also deal with Bigfoot sightings as well. Along those lines, you yourself have taken an active role in the past in the hunt for Sasquatch. Have you collected any significant evidence?

Brian Vike: I really enjoy the Sasquatch/Bigfoot topic. I will certainly investigate a report if it should come into me. I do have some good reports from different areas. But as for significant evidence, no I really don't have this. I do have photos of areas where the critter was alleged to have been seen, alleged droppings of the critter. But no hard evidence.

Proof Tracey: What are your thoughts on whether or not, a Sasquatch species might possibly exist?

Brian Vike: Sasquatch like UFOs, they have been seen for years and years. Our native people talk about the Sasquatch for generations. Same goes for UFOs, I guess if I am to believe in the possibility of UFOs, then I should have an open mind to Sasquatch.

Proof Tracey: Well said Brian.

Proof Tracey: Mr. Vike, in closing, I would like to give my sincere thank you. This has been an enjoyable, & a learning experience.

Tracey H.

Former News Director’s UFO Experience In Ontario Canada

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  July or August of 1969

Time:  Approxamtlty 10:00 p.m.

Brian Vike's Note: I thought I would add a quick note here. The gentleman mentions in his letter to me that he was a former news director of CFBV/LD radio in Smithers. The radio station in Smithers is a 45 minute drive from me heading west, and Smithers is located in British Columbia, Canada. I also do short spots on the radio station the man is talking about, giving local updates on UFO sightings for out entire area.

Message: Hi Brian, nice to meet you. First off, I'm a former news director of CFBV/LD radio in Smithers. Additionally, I worked at Endako mines for a few years in the '70's. As you can imagine, I'm quite familiar with Houston, having lived and 'played' in Fraser Lake, Endako, Burns Lake, Telkwa and Smithers for many years in the late 70's and early 80's. Heck, I met my first wife at an Ian Tamblyn concert in '81 at the Endako Community hall!

I live in Peterborough County, Ontario. Ironically, yesterday, I received a post card from an old buddy who's currently vacationing in Australia, he lives in Quick. Remember the Christmas flood of the community of Quick back in '83?

Here is my story. I was born and raised on a 100 acre farm 20 miles east of Peterborough, Ontario. The incident took place in July or August of 1969 when I was sixteen. I was alone in my family's farmhouse located 75 feet from a gravel township road. At that time we had a border collie mutt named Chief, who was an extremely good guard dog, vicious would be an appropriate description.

My father passed away the previous February and Chief had become even more nasty. Lots of people driving on the property would remain in their vehicle until one of us appeared in the driveway to rescue them from the snapping dog. It was approximately ten o'clock in the evening and I was sitting in the living room watching TV with the overhead light on. I noticed a light shining through the closed white drapes covering the south window. I thought, "that's odd. The light's on, if the light was off I could easily see the light's of a vehicle passing the farmhouse, but the light's on and I can't hear a car."

I exited the living room and entered the kitchen. I looked out the aluminum screen door on the south side of the kitchen and saw a light on the other side of some poplar trees glowing about 150 yards from the house on the other side of the road. The light was white and about the size of your thumbnail.

Now this is where it gets interesting. Chief was standing just outside of the screen door, with his butt against the aluminum.  He was making the most peculiar, extremely low, guttural growl and every piece of fur on his body was standing straight out, as though he'd been electrocuted. I'd never heard him make such an odd sound. He was scared witless. Normally he'd rush across the yard barking and growling at the human, the squirrel, the skunk, etc. Not this night. The light was moving west to east and the dog's nose followed the light precisely.

Whatever was moving in the sky was definitely the cause for Chief's abject terror. I couldn't open the door to investigate as the dog's rear end was 'bunched' against the door. I yelled at the dog to get out of the way. He wouldn't move. He was frozen.

Finally, after a few seconds of admonishing the dog, I forced the door open which pushed Chief out of the way. His nose never wavered from observing the moving light.

I walked across the yard towards the road and the light which was still slowly moving west/east. It would occasionally disappear behind a poplar and then reappear a second later. There was no sound. I guesstimated the object to be 150 to 200 yards away.

Chief, the nasty guard dog, never left the cement patio on the front of the house, but he continued to observe the thing and kept growling in that most peculiar manner.

Then I realized something very odd. By this time I was standing on the road. Not only was the flying object making no sound, but there were no cricket, tree frog or katydid sounds as well. Brian, what in heaven's name has the ability to silence the amphibians and insects of the forest? I felt a very palpable and rising sense of terror.

I lived in that farmhouse for 18 years. At no time did any of my family members nor I ever 'get the gun' because we were frightened of something. It never happened, well, just once. I ran across the yard, past the dog who was still frozen by the front door and into the woodshed. I grabbed the single shot 22 rifle and the shells.

I was so frightened, even today, I can recall my right hand shaking as I fumbled to put a shell in the gun. I can clearly remember thinking, "this is the stupidest thing I've ever done! What good is this 'pop gun' going to do for me against that 'thing' out there across the road? I might as well throw a chunk of gravel against the object."

The next thing I remember I was seated on the couch in the living room with the loaded 22 across my lap. The light was still illuminated and the TV was on. I was calm, cool and collected. My heart rate was normal.

The flying object was now located to the east of the house, out over the barnyard and for the next ten to fifteen minutes I kept looking over my shoulder through the south window at the light in the sky. I could barely make out a ring as though the light was the 'diamond' on the edge of the ring.

A couple of minutes into this session, the light changed from solid white to a blinking red light. It became smaller and smaller and blinked faster and faster. From my perspective, it appeared that the object shot out into space. At no time was I worried or concerned about the UFO in the barnyard. I had a lackadaisical attitude towards it and I thought, "big deal, it's just a UFO, why worry about it?"

As I watched TV and occasionally turned to look at it out the south living room window. I want to make something perfectly clear, Brian:  The next part of my story is a dream. This did not happen. For all of my adult life I can clearly remember the dream.

In my dream, I was standing in the woodshed at my family's old farmhouse, in the night, with the woodshed overhead bulb on and I'm loading the 22. White light suddenly comes through the two windows located on the south and west sides of the woodshed. White light comes from under the woodshed doors from the outside.  That's the end of the dream.

Here's the next peculiar part of the story and I have no idea whether it's connected to the UFO incident. I was not suicidal in the summer of '69, I have not been suicidal at any time in my adult life, nor am I suicidal today. I do not suffer from depression. I feel fine, thanks! A few days after seeing the object, I was home alone and cutting the backyard grass.

Suddenly, with no previous suicidal thoughts, I decided to shut off the mower, go to the woodshed, load the 22 and kill myself. I exited the woodshed, with the loaded gun, walked through the house, sat in precisely the same spot on the couch as that night of the UFO visit, with the loaded 22 across my lap. My intention was to shoot myself.

Fortunately, after about 30 seconds of contemplation I came to my senses. I thought, "what the heck am I doing? I'm not suicidal! Get that damn shell out of the gun! Put the gun away! This is ridiculous!" I unloaded the rifle and returned it to the woodshed.

Brian, I have some questions, as you might well imagine.

1) What was that thing flying through the sky, with no sound, in the summer of '69?

2)  What has the ability to silence the critters of the forest?

3)  Why was my vicious guard dog reduced to a quivering mass of terror?

4)  We have all been terrified. There are certain physiological responses to fear. Increased heart rate, adrenalin pumping through your veins, shaking hands, cold sweats etc. etc. How did I retreat from all of those normal responses and return to 'calm, cool and collected' without a calming down period?(by the way, I had no sense of time loss during or after the incident)

5)  Is my dream of loading the gun and seeing white light a dream? Or did it actually happen?

6)  What was the reason for my suicidal thoughts and actions which occurred out of nowhere a few days after the incident? (I repeat:  I'm not suicidal, nor was I when I was sixteen.)

7)  During the absurd suicide event, why did I walk to the exact same spot as I ended up after I saw the UFO with the loaded gun across my lap? I guess I'll never have the answers to those questions. By the way Brian, I cannot be hypnotized. Just to satisfy my curiosity, I wish I could be hypnotized, to possibly further explore the events of that night so long ago, but I'm one of those people who are not open to hypnotic suggestion.

Thanks for your time and keep up the good work documenting the observations of peculiar events of people from around the world. No, I'm not a hoaxer! Go ahead, use my name if you wish. I truly don't care what other people think. The above mentioned events really did occur.    Art.

Thank you to Art for the extremely interesting report. I will be contacting Art over this experience, also I would like to add Art gave me the OK to use his name.

Ball Lightning Shocks Witnesses At Kispiox British Columbia (News Article/Audio Interview)

From Brian Vike’s UFO Files.

The Vike Report.

News Article by Thom Barker Kispiox/Interior News.

Smithers Interior News
http://www.interior-news.com/

Date of article - August 29, 2007

Several Kispiox residents may have witnessed a rare phenomenon of nature during the wind and lightning storm that rolled through the area on August 12, 2007.

"We noticed this huge white ball, about five feet around," said Pam Barnes.

"It was exuding power like crazy and moving around. I didn't know what it was. I was stunned. I saw it moving over the rooftops and it didn't seem to have any sense of gravity, like a balloon almost."

Then, in a flash it was gone. The whole incident lasted between 10 and 15 seconds, she said.

"It was brighter than the moon," said C.C. Barnes, Pam's four-year old son.

David Jones, a meteorologist with Environment Canada in B.C. said the sighting is consistent with ball lightning.

Left Image: I scanned in the newspaper article over the Ball Lightning sighting.

"We get the odd report of ball lightning," he said.

"It's a very rare phenomenon. Maybe a once in-a-lifetime experience if you're lucky."

Sightings are so rare, in fact that despite nearly 200 years of scientific investigation, researchers are still divided on its exact nature.

Image Left: Click on the newspaper article image for large viewing.

Last year, two Brazilian researchers conducted an experiment that supports the theory. Using electrodes to shock silica wafers they were able to create orbs of electricity that mimicked the behavior of natural ball lightning.

UFO Investigator Brian Vike's Note: My son had heard about the sighting of Ball Lightning in Kispiox, British Columbia from a newspaper story reporter Thom Barker wrote.

I checked out the story which had the ladies name in the article, looked in our local phone book and found her telephone number and gave her a call.

She was a very pleasant lady and she provided me a description of what it was she saw, which turned out to be a rare sighting of ball lightning. Below is a link to an audio interview I had with the lady.

The audio interview was done with Brian Vike of The Vike Factor.

Canadian UFO Investigator Brian Vike’s Note: I did a telephone interview with a lady who explained what she saw in Kispiox British Columbia. The interview is 13.9 mbs in size and is 10 minutes in length and in a MP3 format. You are welcome to download and post the interviews on your websites, etc.. “There were a lot of sighting reports from Vancouver Island,” said Brian Vike, who runs the UFO research website The Vike Factor.

“I don’t think it would take a lot more reports to have that area in the top 10 at year’s end.”

Breaking News - Sasquatch or Something Else In Moricetown British Columbia

I took a telephone call today, late afternoon from a resident of Moricetown British Columbia. From the little I know, tracks were found in the ground and leading off into tall grass. The strange thing about this is, each track appears or is burnt into the ground. Sound strange, well it is.

I am heading for Moricetown tomorrow Friday September 24, 2010 to investigate the tracks. Pictures will be taken besides everything else I will do on location. So once again, we have a very strange case in Moricetown British Columbia. A full report and photos will be posted after I return and can write up a report on this case.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Canadian Outrage At Fox News - Red Eye's Greg Gutfeld On Canadian Military (Idiot)

Posted: March 24, 2009

The spectacularly stupid and offensive Fox News show Red Eye with host Greg Gutfeld came out with what I can only call an idiotic statement on his program. It is a stupid thing to say anytime, but with four of Canada's fallen heroes coming home now, it is a slap in the face to the Canadian troops, their families and the rest of the people of Canada. I don't know how people like Greg Gutfeld finds this a funny topic to bring to his show. He should have more respect for Canada's military and their families and our country in general. I am appalled !

Our Mysterious Skies UFOs

A jet was flying due east, most likely to Vancouver International Airport. The sun glistened off part of the jet’s body. Following behind the jet on the port side, a disc followed at exactly the same speed.

— Port Alberni, Dec. 15, 2008.

When Canadians looked up, up in the sky in 2008, an unusual number weren’t able to identify what they were looking at as either a bird, a plane ... or anything else.

In all, according to Winnipeg-based Ufology Research, there were 1,004 reports of unidentified flying objects across Canada in 2008, an increase of 26 per cent over 2007. Reports had been filed by witnesses with government and military agencies, police, civilian UFO groups and online UFO websites.

Vancouver Island was no exception, says Houston, B.C. based UFO researcher Brian Vike.

UFO Sightings: 'I Believe There's Life Out There'

Posted: February 10, 2009

Brian Reinhardt could see it from the Richmond side of the tunnel. It was a large rectangle with a yellowish tinge, hanging in the air to the north around 6 p.m. on a sunny evening.

He was riding a motorcycle and lifted his visor. It must be a reflection, he thought.

It wasn't, his girlfriend saw it too.

By the time he got to the south end of the Oak Street Bridge, he saw what appeared to be shadows of people moving about inside—but its massive door was closing.

Grimsby's UFO Didn't Fly Right

Move over, Roswell, and step aside Area 51, the new hotspot for UFO activity appears to be the busy skies in and around Hamilton.

But the only problem for all the believers who are spotting zigzagging objects and mysterious lights, says Rob McConnell, is that there is a logical explanation for "99.9999 per cent of them."

McConnell has hosted his paranormal radio show X Zone from his Mountain home for 16 years.

UFO researcher says cluster of red lights 'weird'

BY KIM CHAMPION

Carmine Montemarano saw it and he wants to know if you saw it, too.
It was on Dec. 26 about a half an hour or so before midnight, when something that looked like fireworks caught Mr. Montemarano's eye. He was standing outside in the driveway of his cousin's house on a quiet street in the Major MacKenzie and Islington area of Kleinburg, bidding goodnight to relatives after a Christmas gift exchange.

"There was five or six bunched up bright, red lights," he said. "They were a little bit bigger than stars, and they were pretty far up there."

Both Mr. Montemarano and his cousin, Carmine, stared at the cluster of lights for a good five or six minutes, he said. They tried to capture images on an iPhone but the objects were too far away. The pair then watched as they flickered, and vanished. And no, they weren't drinking that night, Mr. Montemarano said.

Moncton, New Brunswick A Fast Bright White Oblong Ball Of Light

Posted: November 23, 2008

Date: Around November 20, 2008
Time: 10:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Above Moncton
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Oblong White Light.

HBCC UFO Research Note: I thought I would write a quick note so the readers of this report don't get confused. The witness is talking about a report which was sent to me on November 18, 2008 and newspapers which were written as other folks saw the same thing. There are links to the newspaper articles, both in French and English. Below all this is another report of a sighting that was seen by the same folks.

Full Description of event/sighting: I recently reported a sighting on September 18, 2008 of a bright white unidentifiable light over Neguac, New Brunswick. This sighting was witnessed by many others and had even made an article in the local newspaper, L'Acadie Nouvelle. I have finally found the article online, below you will find the links (the original French version as well as an English-translated version, respectively).

This is the French version of the newspaper article: *Deux ovnis observés dans la Péninsule*

This is the English version of the newspaper article: *Two UFOs Observed In The Peninsula*

However, this prior report is not the only reason I am writing today. A couple of nights ago my spouse and I (who was one of the witnesses in Neguac) were driving in Moncton. At approximately 2200 hours (10:00pm) we stopped at a stop sign and I happened to glance up and out the windshield. Directly in front of us (but far away) I saw a bright white oblong ball of light below the cloud cover, moving at a very slow speed across the horizon. I grabbed my partner's arm and pointed, saying "that looks just like what we saw in Neguac!". He saw the object as well, and said it was probably a plane, as there is an airport nearby. Just as the words were leaving his mouth we saw the object continue to move horizontally towards the East, then suddenly stop. It was motionless for about five seconds, then started to fade away. It then suddenly became very bright again and took off at incredible speed to the East, disappearing from sight within what seemed like only a second.

We both just looked at each other, unable to believe we had seen the same bright unidentifiable light. There is no way that we could have mistaken this for an airplane, we saw plenty of regular air traffic before and after the sighting; this object does not resemble aircraft in any way, nor does it's motion reflect that of any aircraft I have ever seen.

Thank you to the witness for their report.
