Wave Of UFO Sightings In Victoria B.C.

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Newspaper Article.

COMOX VALLEY – A B.C. UFO investigator says 2013 is already shaping up to be a busier-than-normal year for sightings of unusual lights and strange flying objects.

Brian Vike authors a blog entitled The Vike Factor and has investigated more than 11,000 reports from across Canada and around the world. Vike says there was a spike in activities on the morning of January 11th when triangular shaped objects and unusual lights were seen over Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland. The sightings followed an asteroid, which streaked over the skies of B.C. and Washington State.

One report indicates a mother witnessed a large school bus sized triangular object in the sky just after she dropped her children off for school. The witness reported seeing the solid object moving along until it started to hover and had three balls of orange light on each point. The witness reported to Vike that the balls of light went into the centre of the object before it disappeared.

Vike estimates around 90% of what is reported to him can be easily explained, whether it’s by people seeing the International Space Station flying overhead, or Chinese lanterns taking to the sky or flares being dropped from aircrafts. Others he is still struggling to explain.

UFO Sighting In Telkwa And Houston, B.C.

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Newspaper Article

By Nicole Fitzgerald The Interior News Smithers, B.C.

The Interior News.

On July 29, winding down from a day on his Telkwa farm, Gordon Stewart settled into his chair facing two bay windows, overlooking the valley for a late-night movie. At 10:45 p.m., a bright light flashed by his field of vision, raising him from his chair, astonished at the peculiarity and speed of the sight.

After walking onto the front porch for a clearer view, only silence filled the valley sky smudged with light cloud cover. He called the RCMP. There was no air force activity in the area. He woke his wife Joanna, who had already turned in for the night without hearing or seeing anything. On sharing his description of the round, white light with a yellowish hue, he learned his wife had seen the same light in the same location a couple of months earlier.

"I didn't want to tell him because he'd think I was crazy," Joanne recounted. Earlier that evening at 10.20 p.m. in Houston, a Canfor employee stepped from a forklift to examine a phosphorescent like white ball of light with yellow undertones, which appeared to hover, before slowly crawling across the sky line.

The worker called out to two fellow co-workers who caught sight of the glowing light, which grew a tail as it gained momentum. The phenomenon gained speed towards Tweedsmuir Park and shot out of view over the horizon.

"I called them over because I wanted proof that I saw something and that I wasn't crazy," the Canfor employee explained. Despite having two witnesses, the Canfor employee wished to remain anonymous.

Despite his wife having seen the same phenomenon's, Stewart was relieved a similar sighting was reported the same day. Stewart caught the tail end of a movie when he was startled from his chair by an unidentifiable round light streaking across the valley. Combined with his house being stationed at 3,000 feet - Smithers sits at approximately 1,750 feet - and large bay windows, Stewart has an ideal birds eye view of air traffic.

Crazy and UFO are often terms that go hand in hand when trying to determine an experience that appears to be out of this world. Already this year, over 70 unidentifiable sightings have been reported in northern B.C. Only two days before the Telkwa/Houston sighting, an erratically moving, bright light was spotted in Prince George.

Sightings in Prince Rupert and Port Simpson were reported the same day of Stewart's experience. The two days that followed it reports from Terrace were filed on a glowing, cigar-shaped craft and four multiple sightings of an unidentifiable light.

"There is so much going on here it's nuts", Houston B.C. Canada UFO researcher Brian Vike remarked. Vike suspects action in space is growing with the number of hits he receives on his UFO website.

"Recently, I have been getting numerous hits," he said, "Everything from the National Defense Department to Federal Aviation". He also noted that open information transitions between himself and the National Department of Defense has since clammed up with the publishing of the recent sighting in Telkwa - where three women attested to seeing an unidentified object with bright lights.

"No one wants to say anything and I am kind of wondering why", He questioned. "Is the military running a project we are not aware of? Something has happened I just don't know what ... yet".

Many of these speculated extraterrestrial occurrences have been explained away as meteorites, flying exercises, space debris and the result of power towers. A recent space ship sighting in Smithers turned out to be the planets Jupiter and Venus. Stewart dismisses many of these suspicions in his case. He began by explaining that the object flew in a flat line unlike meteorite or space debris's falling arc pattern.

Planes might be a credible explanation, but because no sound was detected and the size of the light - the size of a pick up truck from the distance he sat at - flew so low, a plane wasn't a logical solution in Stewart's mind.

According to Central Mountain Air, there were no late night flights except for a training run July 29. Northern Thunderbird training was up between 10:07 - 11:04, however, a Central Mountain Air spokesperson saw no connection between the occurrences. She speculated that the tiny Cessna 185 would not emit a bright light of that magnitude and its engines would be heard at a close proximity.

Although a comet spotted the same evening would solve Stewart's mystery, its glowing green light, arc-shaped flight and Hudson Bay Mountain location did not pair up with what he saw - leaving Stewart questioning, "What the heck was it?"

For Stewart, the speed of the light was the most notable. "If you had blinked, you would have missed it, it was that fast," he said. He assessed the light reached faster than the speed of light at over 650 miles per hour. Stewart is well acquainted to gauging speed, he assessed, after driving dragsters that reached up to 200 miles per hour. As to whether he believes in another life force traveling through the universe, Stewart has always believed since reading space comic books as a kid, that people on earth weren't the only ones out here.

"There's too much on earth not to disbelieve," he argued, noting other phenomenon's such as the Pyramids. "I think there was someone before us." Despite Stewart's open mind towards other life forms, he talked himself through other possible explanations, but came to the same conclusion: "I knew I saw something out of the ordinary".

Although highly skeptical, the Canfor employee agreed his sighting was something more than an every day occurrence. "In my mind it looked like a meteorite," he comforted himself, but wavered as he turned the 20 second experience over in his mind. "But, it was like no meteorite I've ever seen. I've seen meteorite showers before, but they never looked anything like this. I really don't know what it was."

Sasquatch Sightings Have Northern B.C. Town Abuzz

Houston woman 'freaked out' after seeing hairy creature.

Cheryl Chan, The Province

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

Tales of a giant, hairy ape-like creature trampling through the woods are running wild in a northern Interior town after a rash of Sasquatch sightings.

There have been three reported sightings in the area within a month, said Brian Vike, Director of HBCC UFO Research.

"To be honest with you, I don't know what to make of all this," said Vike. "I know with UFOs we're doing well in B.C. but I don't know with the Sasquatch. I'm just trying to figure it out."

One of the sightings was reported by Houston resident Delores Harrie, who was at home on July 28, just after 6 p.m., when her two dogs began barking furiously.

She saw the doorknob rattle, and when she went outside to investigate, she saw a shaggy creature running across the tree line into the bushes:

"It was huge, about seven to eight feet tall, and hairy," said Harrie, 45.

"He had long hair, shaggy, . . . in a pine-beetle colour, totally covered.

"I couldn't believe how fast he moved," she added.

"I can't see it being a grizzly. They run but they don't run on two legs, and I know it's not a moose either."

Harrie reported the incident to Vike, who investigated and recorded some strange markings on the ground.

"Definitely, something had been there," said Vike.

"There's some cow tracks, but this was something else - someone with a good-sized foot."

The other sightings were on Morgan Road in Houston in July on Telkwa Highway Road in Moricetown, about an hour and a half away, on Aug. 27.

There was also a reported Sasquatch encounter in Campbell River on Aug. 31.

Vike said he gets periodic Sasquatch sightings across B.C. and the Pacific Northwest but it hasn't been active - until recently.

Harrie, who was "freaked out" about the encounter, said she's trying to be open-minded about what she saw.

"There's so many things out there I think it would be a little crazy to think we're the only ones here."

Spate Of UFOs Sighted In Northern B.C. Skies

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Newspaper Article.

Prince Rupert

Canadian Press.

Published August 17, 2002

Brian Vike is not about to point to little green men, but he says something strange is happening in the skies of northern B.C.

Mr. Vike, a "ufologist" and editor of the paranormal magazine Canadian Communicator, is mystified by the largest number of airborne-phenomena reports he has seen.

Since Feb. 1, Mr. Vike has received 73 reports of strange lights and objects in the sky over the region. That compares to five or six reports at the same time last year.

Now he is hearing about sightings over the north coast, and wants to hear from Prince Rupert, B.C., residents who think they have had a close encounter.

"Things like real bright lights doing real strange things," he said. "If you look up in the sky and see a bunch of stars, and all of a sudden five points of light start moving together, then disappear -- that's not a satellite."

Of the 73 sightings, Mr. Vike said five can be explained as planets and shooting stars. The rest evade easy answers, such as the case of three women travelling from Smithers, B.C., to Houston, B.C., who encountered a "huge craft."

"It descended through the cloud cover, went towards them at about tree-top level and went right over their car," Mr. Vike said.

"I interviewed them, and they were just freaked. . . . The thing is, people want some answers for what they're seeing."

Mr. Vike guesses that the spate of unexplainable events may be linked to military activity in the area.

"One report we got from nine witnesses in several locations on July 29 was of a white [and]yellow object as big as a school bus that was seen below the horizon, going into the valley.

"Some of my contacts in the Department of National Defence haven't written back to me lately, which is unusual."

Mr. Vike said he has unconfirmed reports from Telkwa, B.C., and Houston of military vehicles travelling the back roads.

1930s UFO Sighting Left Witnesses In Awe At Confederation Park Burnaby British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  Late 1930s. Time:  Summer afternoon.

Location of Sighting: Confederation Park, Burnaby, B.C.

Number of witnesses: 3

Number of objects: 2

Shape of objects: Round balls of fire.

Full Description of event/sighting: A friend who is in his late 70s told me this story today. He said that when he was 10 or 11 years old, he and two friends (now deceased) were playing in the bush in Confederation Park in Burnaby, that would make it the summer of 1937 or 1938.

He said he and his friends heard a roaring sound and he ran out of the trees to Willingdon Avenue and saw two streaks of smoke in the sky coming from the east parallel to the ground and at a fairly low altitude.

As the smoke trails got closer he saw two round balls of fire at the head of the trails. Suddenly the two fireballs roared like a rocket straight up at a ninety degree angle and disappeared into a clear blue sky.

He said that today he would compare them to jets, but of course there were no jets back then. He still remembers the incident even after the amount of time that has transpired.

Thank you to the person for relating the sighting to me.

Hi Brian, around 9:15 p.m. I was actually northbound on an airplane and saw this blobish like floating lava.

I figured it may have been Mount Baker, but then at 9:35 p.m. just as I arrive at YVR I saw it in a distance.

I'm very curious.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Also, please feel free to send in your sightings that have happened years ago. So many of these older sightings are nothing short of amazing.

Great Central Lake, Near Port Alberni, Vancouver Island, B.C. Jet And UFO (Photos)

Posted: December 28, 2008

Date: December 15, 2008
Time: Approx: 1:30 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Disc, saucer shape.
Weather Conditions: Sun was out, clear blue sky, no clouds

Description: Looking almost due south, in sky above hillside a jet was flying due east to most likely to Vancouver International Airport. The sun was glistening off part of the jets body. Following behind the jet on it's port side a disc followed the jet at the exact same speed as the jet was traveling. I watched for a few seconds, in a final moment I decided to take a picture, as I had my camera with me. The picture is not the best however you can see an object following the jet. Note, we had another UFO sighting with three people in aug 200?, I'd have to check the date, as it is in our fish hatchery log book. This sighting was confirmed one year later by some campers camping across the lake from us.

-----

Hi John,

I've attached the photo I took on Dec 15, 2008 at 1:30 pm. I just realized that my camera not only records the date but also the time. I just checked the time setting and it is out by an hour, ie says 2:30 when it is really 1:30. If you click on the picture and go to properties it should have that for you. I have a new Olympus wide angle camera, so unfortunately it makes items look farther away. The UFO is hard to see, but is located about 1" down and 2" to the back of the jets tail. Maybe you can do some better magnifying to get a better image.

I watched it for a few seconds, realized it was shaped like the classic UFO following the jet at the exact same speed as the jet. The disc shape was flying with the disc's front in a downward position, not level or horizontal with the movement forward but rather the front of the disc at an angle downwards.

It would be interesting to see it the Comox Airforce tracks all aircrafts to see if anything can be seen on their radar.

I am the owner/operator of a boat access only fish hatchery on Great Central Lake. We have been here since 1988.

The second sighting we had was of a different nature. This occurred in August ?. I will go into our log book to get the exact year, as we had a tradesman up working on a fish pool, so his name should be recorded in the book.

It was in the evening, past dark. Myself and two others were sitting outside on the deck of our float house at the shoreline of the lake. It was a starry night. We noticed a bright light, which was too close to be a star. This was looking in the SE direction. Just as we were talking about how close it looked, we noticed it had a spotlight shining down, and moving a little back & forth, while the object stayed silent and still. After a few seconds of noticing this, it shot straight up into the atmosphere at what appeared to be phenomenal speed, and disappeared. There was no sound.

We were all talking about this for a few minutes and then we noticed another same such light, to the SW, and a little higher in the sky. After noticing this, in a few seconds it also shot up into the sky soundlessly.

For a long time after this, I tried to have my video camera at hand.

Interestingly this sighting was confirmed about six months or a year or so later. I was in town at Papa John's picking up some take-out Pizza.

I was talking to the owner about a UFO sighting in the B.C. interior which had just been on the news. She then starts to tell me about her son who had been camping at Great Central Lake boyscout camp (which is directly across the lake from our hatchery) and that he had seen a UFO sighting. I asked her if it had been about a year ago, and in August, and she said yes. I said it was most likely the same sighting we had see. She said her son would normally not have believed to seeing a UFO, but he was camping with two other guys, and they all saw a series of three bright lights across the lake, just hovering for quite a while.

Well, I'll find the date in the log book, and hope you can do something with the photo. All for now, sincerely.
