Bright Orange Lights Over English Bay Vancouver British Columbia

Date:  December 31, 2017

Time:  Approximately 1:00 a.m.

Last night at about 1:00 a.m., I saw what I thought to be 3 planes coming, as here is the flight path, like big bright orange stars, but they moved and stopped, stood still, so I thought helicopters but no sound.

I can hear them from that place. See them everyday like right now one is flying in the same area. 

They came up from the west flew north for a bit towards English Bay and then south back to the same spot for a bit and then disappeared west into the clouds. Any ideas?

4 Glowing Orange Lights Floating In The Sky Over English Bay Vancouver British Columbia

Time:  Around 9:35 p.m. - 10:15 p.m.

I was just settling in last night around 9:35 p.m. - 10:15 p.m. I received a text from my partner that has an unobstructed view of English Bay (Pendrall and Denman ) where as I live at ( Cardero and Davie ).

We where watching 4 glowing orange orbs floating moving in various directions and seemingly blinking on and off.

This was the only related information I found online to substantiate what I was seeing.

2 Orange Colored Lights/Objects Seen Flying Over English Bay Vancouver British Columbia

Hey Brian, just wanted to drop you a report of a sighting I had last night. I also managed to shoot some video of the sighting. Thanks!

I was at the dinner table when I noticed two strange looking lights moving across the night sky.

I see plane and helicopter traffic regularly, from my place in Kitsilano, but this seemed different to me. I went outside to get a closer look and there were 2 orange looking orbs moving from the north, heading in a southern direction over English Bay.

What was very odd, was the way they were moving. They didn't always fly in a straight trajectory, sometimes they would climb in altitude rapidly, zig zag and even appear to stop all together at one point. I watched them for about 30 seconds and could see no signs of a plane.

There was no shape to them that resembled a plane, and there were no flashing lights that you would normally see on that type of aircraft. The orbs seem to pulse very slowly, going very bright then dying down for a few seconds, before going bright again.

Soon after they appeared to just flicker out and disappear, one after the other. I was left wondering about what I had just seen when to my amazement another orb appeared where the first 2 had originated and then made it's way along a similar path that the first two had taken.

I rushed to get my camera and started to film some video of these strange lights. I filmed the single orb for a good minute and a half and then it disappeared. A few minutes later once again 2 orbs appeared in the same fashion, appearing in same location of the rest and making their way southward.

I have attached a link to a video of these 2 particular orbs. After filming those 2, one more orb appeared and followed the same routine, and then the activity stopped. About 10 minutes later you could clearly see a helicopter flying in the location.

It stopped several times and hovered like it was looking around the area. I have no idea what I witnessed, but I know what I saw was not a plane or a helicopter.

I have heard speculation about these being possible Chinese lanterns, but to me it does not explain the sometimes erratic behavior of the objects, nor how they seemed to just appear and disappear and follow such a precise trajectory.

It seems there have been several reports of similar sightings over the last month. Does anyone have any more ideas about what these objects could be?

Orange/Red Lights Seen From English Bay Beach Vancouver British Columbia

Time:  9:30 p.m.

Hi Brian, I saw my first UFO last night. Me and my friend were sitting in English Bay beach. My friend and I were looking over the city skyline to the west. Behind my friend I saw two orangey-red lights rise above the buildings and into the sky above them.

The lights hung still in the sky for about 3 minutes while I talked with my friend and I thought little of them. The lights were horizontal to each other and not moving. The light did not alter in intensity, but remained the same.

Then the light on the right rotated upwards smoothly and slowly (took about a minute) like the hand moving on a clock until the two lights were vertical to each other. At this point, I told my friend I had to pee, but he should watch the lights because they were really interesting.

As I walked towards the washroom, I watched the lower light shrink and decrease in intensity smoothly (like it was moving further) then I looked away, and when I  looked back it was gone. The other light remained in the sky for another 5 minutes and I was able to return from the washroom to sit with my friend and watch it.

He was excited and said that the first light had moved in circles before disappearing (when I was looking away). We watched the remaining light for a few minutes and then it shrunk and disappeared within a few seconds.

Then it reappeared with full intensity for a second, then it disappeared for good. Another oddity to note, when we were approaching our sitting position on the beach (around 8:30), we were talking about a strange white light we could see over the water that was very small like an LED on a boat, but it skimmed over the waters surface and at times changed locations in the bay impossibly fast.

We didn't think much of it because you don't usually associate water and lights with UFOs.

My buddy found a video from May 2012 of lights over Vancouver that looked identical to the ones we saw last night, but I wasn't able to find the video again on my own tonight.

6 Orange Lights/Objects Flew Straight Over English Bay Vancouver British Columbia

Time:  8:45 p.m.

Hello Brian, my friend and I were sitting on the couch in my apartment on Bidwell Street in English Bay at 8:45 p.m. last night (August 17th) when we saw two sizable orange glowing objects rise up from the direction of the north shore mountains and slowly move across English Bay.

My apartment is on the 5th floor, across from Alexandra Park and beyond that is Beach Avenue and then the Ocean. I have a very clear view of the night sky. It puzzled both of us that these "craft" were so bright and orange and there did not appear to be any sound coming from them. 

I took my camera out and took a photo and then took some video footage. They were heading south west over the water and they were rising higher, then they disappeared instantly. There was not a cloud in the sky. 

A minute later another one rose up from the same location,  behind Stanley Park and from the direction of the North Shore. It followed the same trajectory and heading over the ocean and rising higher and then disappeared in the same direction. 

I phoned a friend who lives in an apartment on Beach Avenue and she also observed it.

A minute or two later another one rose up from the same direction and followed the exact same path.

There must have been approximately six in total. I took some more video footage with my phone.

We also saw some planes which moved in a very different way and a helicopter fly by.

These orange glowing, circular shaped pulsating vessels were very different from the planes or helicopter and there was no sound.

By the way, my friend and I are both professionals are were completely sober at the time of the sighting.

Orange Objects/Lights Flew Over English Bay Vancouver British Columbia Canada

Time:  Evening.

Hi Brian, I was contacted by two neighbors that live two buildings down from me on August 17th, 2012 and witnessed two of the orange orbs in the sky over English Bay in Vancouver.

My neighbors saw a total of 12 orbs over the course of 20 minutes and managed to videotape them. It was very exciting for me! I've never seen anything like it!

They were pulsing and moving in a way that helicopters and planes do not. As I looked through my binoculars, it became very evident that these were UFO's.

I will be paying closer attention to the sky from this point on. It's great to know that others witnessed the same thing. Thank you for your Blog!

Bright Orange Lights/Objects Over English Bay Vancouver British Columbia (Photo)

Time:  Around 9:45 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Hi Brian, I saw some strange lights over English Bay Friday at about 9:45 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. The lights were bright orange. At about 9:45 p.m. while watching TV I glanced out my window and saw a 'strange' orange light.

It was not a plane. Didn't think much of it until a few seconds later another light appeared, then another, then another. At one point there were 4 lights total. They disappeared, then 5-10 minutes later 2 orange lights appeared.

They were not moving fast. They did not hover. There was no reflection on the water.

They seemed to just appear then reappear over a time span of 1/2 hour. I tried to take a photo, but the shutter speed on my camera was not set correctly.

I got this photo which was taken at aperture 6.3 shutter speed 5 seconds. This light is obviously moving. Also I was hand holding the camera at a shutter speed of 5 seconds which would account for some of the movement.

Between 10:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. after the mysterious light show a few planes (or maybe 1 plane circling the area) were above English Bay.

I read on your blog this morning about the entry that says these lights were Chinese lanterns. That might account for it except, four lights appeared and disappeared, two lights appeared then disappeared, then 1 light kept appearing.

The one light in particular that kept reappearing could be seen first appearing in the west as a small dot then would appear as a larger orange light. Also I did not see these lights floating upward as one would expect if they were Chinese lanterns.

Also these lights did not appear to be just aimlessly floating in the breeze as one would expect lanterns to do ?

Orange Lights In The Sky Over English Bay Vancouver British Columbia (Chinese/Wish Lanterns)

I think those orange lights were paper lanterns being released from English Bay, Vancouver, B.C.

I witnessed the wedding party release them on Friday night around 8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
