Dark Orange Object Changed To Red In Color Over Leduc Alberta

It was around midnight on August 11/12. I was standing at the window in the guestroom, on the second floor of our house, looking out to see if I could spot any meteors, and I did. 

I also spotted something very odd. At first, I thought it was a plane, but realized that it couldn't be. It was about 2-3 times larger than any of the planes I've seen and it was dark orange, then dimmed and went dark red.

I watched it for about 45 seconds, and it completed that same pattern, turning dark orange, then red a few times. I did not see any other colors. I yelled for my husband, but then it was just "gone".

It went from a large, round ball to a tiny pinpoint, then just disappeared within just a few seconds.

It could have been a plane, but it didn't look (or act) like any I've ever seen, and we don't live far from the airport, so I've seen many! Our home (and the guestroom I was watching out of) face north.

The ball of light was out to the west and was traveling from north to south. Have a great day :)

Three Glowing Orange Lights Over Courtice Ontario

Date:  May 12, 2012
Time:  Evening.

Saw the exact same think in Courtice May 12, 2012 same scenario, 6 of us in backyard, looking south 5 drinking, one not.

Two orange "stars" moving west to south west, followed by a third maybe 30 seconds later.

Larger than stars, not flashing like plane, no sound. Similar path used by planes from Pearson about every three minutes. Definitely not planes.

No explanation from anyone to date.

Orange Balls Of Light Seen Flying Over Brantford Ontario (Chinese Lanterns)

Time:  Evening.

Hi Brian, I came upon your website today after searching online for UFO information in Ontario. The orange balls we saw met exactly the same description. There was a series of three followed by two others, each about five minutes later, so five in all. 

We had witnessed one of these also in June. They were all noiseless and clearly ascending from the earth. 

Thought I'd contribute to the sightings on your site. Thanks for all the information you provide.

Hi again, we have concluded that they were Chinese lanterns: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4K00JQG5WE and I even found a downed one this morning proving this theory!

17 Orange Objects In The Sky Over Oak Island/Mahone Bay Nova Scotia (Chinese Lanterns)

Date:  August 10, 2012
Time:  Approx: 10:15 p.m.

Brian, my husband, myself and two neighbours watched 17 orange orbs go across the night sky this evening around 10:15 or so.

They were about 300 feet up and no sounds whatsoever. 

They were over Oak Island (we live along the coast in this area) and seemed to be in one long line heading for Chester area.

By the time I ran to get my binoculars they had disappeared. It was very odd. I don’t know where we could phone to talk about this.

My husband thought he would call the Chronicle Herald and let them know, perhaps others have seen them.

They must have seen them. This is the boating season and there is lots of activity on the water. I would expect there will be other reports. Have you heard anything? Sincerely.

Update - Additional Information:

The mystery has been solved. They were Chinese lanterns set off at Atlantica Motel, probably by a wedding party.

Four Red/Orange Balls Of Light Flew Over St. Malo Manitoba

Time:  10:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 3
Number of Objects: 4
Shape of Objects: Round.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was sitting around the campfire and I noticed something bright in the sky moving. It was a beautiful red/orange ball in the sky. I called out to my husband and he saw it finally after it went past the cloud.

We followed it for awhile and then it just disappeared. Then we look up again and one after the other they passed us moving from west to east. It was going by at the height of a plane, but made no noise.

The first 2 were going over in the same direction, but the other 2 were over more towards the left moving too from west to east. Nice to see other postings as I was to embarrassed to tell anyone.

Green Object Roughly The Size Of The Moon Seen Over Penticton British Columbia

Time:  Approx: 10:45 p.m.

Hi Brian, my name is (name removed) and my friend and I were in Penticton the night of August 7, 2012 when we were stopped at a stop light and he started freaking out telling me to look!

When I looked up there was a green orb really high up in the distance approximately the size of the moon with a V shaped darker object in the center that looked almost like an arrow head.

A few seconds after we started looking at it it dropped down in the sky extremely fast and then disappeared.

We weren't going to tell anyone until I looked it up this morning on your site and found that someone had seen a similar green light about an hour later. I hope you find this interesting.
