Disk Shaped UFO Changes Color Over Auberry California

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  September 6, 1982

Time:  10:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 1

Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Disk-shaped light

Full Description of event/sighting: I had returned home from a family BBQ (it was Labor Day here in the States) and went out to turn off some sprinklers when our two dogs began barking. I thought there was a car on the road, but there was not, so I looked up and there was a disk-shaped light crossing the sky from E to W.

There are some power lines that run alongside the road and off to the house where my mom and step-dad now live, and the object was following those lines running to that house. (My mom and I lived in a mobile home about 100 yards. away from her current residence).

The UFO changed color: red-blue-orange-yellow-white-red, in that order. Size was about that of a dime at arm's length. Both dogs were barking continuously throughout the sighting, which was about 2-3 minutes.

The porch light and yard light both dimmed, but did not go out. My Mom was inside and did not see the UFO, but she told me later that her TV was having interference while I was outside.

I reported the sighting to the Center for UFO Studies, who sent me a questionnaire, which I filled out and returned, but they did not let me know about any follow-up. (maybe because of my age at the time-12).

Auberry is in the traffic pattern for Fresno-Yosemite IAP in Fresno, and I am familiar with aircraft, especially at night. In addition, I am a military aircraft buff, and have had a familiarity with military aircraft since the age of 7, and this was no aircraft.

If you wish to publish the account on your site or use it on the air, please do, but leave my name out, as I am about to go on active duty in 4 months with the U.S. Navy.

The weather was clear, but I don't remember the temperature, but it was in the mid-90s, and there was no wind at all.

There are two military bases near: Fresno ANGB (at Fresno-Yosemite IAP-they had F-106s at the time) and NAS Lemoore. Castle AFB near Merced was active at the time, with B-52s and KC-135s, but closed in 1995. What I saw did not appear to be any military aircraft.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Glowing Pear Shaped UFO Tumbles In The Sky Above Auberndale Florida

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

 Date:  March 3, 2005

Time:  Between 6:30 pm-7:00 pm

Number of witnesses: 1

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Pear shaped.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was driving West on SR/CR 92 and looking at the jets in the sky off in the distance with the contrails behind them contrasting with the bright golden/pink remaining skylight from the sunset. It was an extremely clear evening and cool out.

As I watched the jets, a closer and brighter object caught the corner of my eye as it moved in place. I'd say it was approximately 1000 feet up and tumbled in place. I say tumbled because the object appeared pear shaped only if you took a knife and cut the very top of the pair off giving it a flat top.

The bottom half of the object was an extremely bright reddish orange glow. I only saw this glow as its (what I call) bottom end being the wider end of this object, came into view with its stationary position in the sky tumbling.

I pulled the car over and watched this object as it tumbled. When the wider more bright part of the object left my view, the object seemed to almost disappear except for a faint visual of the object in its position until its wider brighter part rotated into view.

This object wasn't traveling left or right or toward or away, as I said, it was stationary in the sky as it tumbled. The body of the object appeared very dark in color or black from my point of view. And if I held a dime up an arms length in toward the sky, it would just have barely covered the object from my point of view.

The object finally vanished with a single flashbulb effect and absolutely no sound the entire time.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Large Hovering Flying V Shaped UFO Over Santa Cruz County Aptos California

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  Approximately 1984, late winter.

Time:  Not known

Approximately 1984, late winter, Aptos California, Santa Cruz County.  I was heading, I believe west in the Rio Del Mar section on Clubhouse Drive with 3 housemates.

Through my driver side window on the left, a large flying V was flying westward, over a house. It was brown in color with an approximately an 80 - 100 foot wingspan (maybe larger), and was flying at an altitude of approximately 80 - 100 feet.

The craft was moving at maybe 3-5 MPH, and from the wings and belly of the craft were white spotlights that were panning the house and ground underneath. I slowed my Land Cruiser down to watch, but didn't say a word to my passengers because it was just too weird.

At one point I decided to myself that it had to be a military stealth bomber, which had just been brought forward in the media as experimental aircraft. Moments later I realized that it could only be a UFO because it was hovering so slowly.

I watched for about 20 seconds or so, and it kind of disappeared when it reached a 45% angle in the sky.

Have there been any similar reported cases during this time period and in this geographical area?

Thanks.

Thank you to the witness for the interesting report.

Large Glowing Ball Of Light Leaves Acrid Type Odor In The Air Aliso Viejo California

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  January 16, 2005

Time:  9:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 3

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Round

Full Description of event/sighting: Large glowing "ball" 2000 feet approxamtlty hovered, then traveled at high rate of speed south. Faster than any plane etc. Appeared to drip fire. After hovering again it then sped off and disappeared.

Additional Information:

Hi Brian, I am 53 and the other two witnesses were my son 14 and my friend 27. It was a clear calm Sunday night at 9:00 p.m. on the date I indicated in my report. I am a (removed by Brian Vike) for a national department of agriculture organization. I have never had an interest in UFO's or have taken the reports seriously. We had just returned from a weekend in Palm Springs CA.

We were standing outside my home talking and suddenly moving into our vision over the roof tops a large glowing ball came into view. None of us had ever seen anything like it before.

It was not at a high altitude in my opinion. I travel in airplanes weekly, and I estimate the object at first glance was 3000-5000 feet in the air. It "glowed" and was a yellow white color. It seemed to move slowly almost floating and my first thought was that it was a large balloon with a light of some sort inside.

That dispelled when the object moved very quickly south and seemed to gain altitude. It moved much faster than any airplane or helicopter I have ever observed.

There was no trail or vapor of any sort behind the object as it moved. In a span of a few seconds it traveled approximately 5 miles. (I am 6' tall, and if I hold my arms up and pointed to the sky at a 45 degree angle with both arms in opposite directions, that is how far and fast it moved in 5 seconds or less!)

The object then seemed to hover again in the distance, and began to "drip" a fire like substance or pieces of itself. It then just disappeared. The entire experience was about 20 seconds. The only other phenomenon was that immediately afterward the air around us had an acrid type of odor, which dissipated very quickly.

We were astonished and I did not report it, but immediately listened to the news etc., to see if any other reports came in, but nothing. I had told my parents about the sighting and several days later she mailed me a newspaper report from The San Gabriel Tribune which spoke of these sightings earlier in January than mine and the article also mentioned you and your organization. This prompted me to contact you.

I hope this helps and am curious if you could explain this if there is some answer.

Thank you to the witness for the very interesting report.

Eyewitness Observes Saucer Shaped UFO Over San Jose California

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  Winter of 1985/86.

Time:  Late Afternoon.

One late afternoon in the winter of 1985/86, in San Jose, CA., I was outside looking toward the mountains to the east and at the sky. The sky was sparsely filled with low clouds. The clouds and sky were hued with various colors.

Out of my left eye toward the north, I saw something dropping down from the sky from more than 10+ miles away at about 30+ miles a minute as I turned my head to see it correctly. At this time its' distance may have been about 8+ miles away. It looked like a 'block'.

It dropped down further and began to arch to level to the ground, seemingly coming toward me, traveling about 4 miles a minute at about 6+ miles away.

It began to move north to south across my field of view. I was now able to see that its' side hull wall was tapered that it looked like a saucer, but had a block appearance to it. Its' outer hull had a dark green, gray appearance.

The hull wall had an outer plating that was 5 plates tall and the plates wrapped the circumference of the ship. Each row of plates was offset from each other in a staggering that brought every other row aligned. These hull plates were set to the base hull with what appeared to be rivets, very large rivets.

The ship began to slow in its' north -south direction, to about 2 miles a minute. The ship had already begun to run parallel to the ground and as it was stepping across my view the suns light gave it a dark gold, green, gray appearance. At this time its' size was realized.

I felt very cold, I could feel the bump, growing on me, but didn't want to be afraid of 'it'.

Now it began to come back toward me after having stepped across me. It was about 3 miles away. Its' view took about a reference of 20 degrees from a reference 180 degree field of view. The lower row of hull plates, in the angular view, was about 20-35 plates and diameter to height ratio was about 4.5-6 to 1. The sun still shown light on it.

I was unable to recount the intricacies of the ship and most gauging are vectors due to there being no standard frame of reference and the fact that I was taken by surprise.

The hull plates, each, in their overlap, were held by about 22 rivets along their edge. At this time the ship had slowed to less than 1 mile a minute. As it continued toward me I was able to obtain a vector of individual plate area, which appeared to be about 300 feet wide by 500 feet tall from roughly 1.5 miles away. And "IT" was still coming.

At this time the terminator was upon 'it' and 'it' had begun to appear silver, gray. I felt a sense of stalking me, somewhat afraid. It was less than 1 mile away and took up about 100 degrees of my field of view. The rivets appeared to be as big as houses on 'its' hull plates, and I attempted to guage the plate area again. It seemed to confirm, it was still moving, slowly.

It seemed to be stepping down toward me. When 'it' stopped it was about, what appeared to be less than 1000 feet away. Its' footprint was large. The far edge seemed far away and it was dark underneath. I was able to look up across its' plate-wall about 4 plates high to a cloud which had settled on the upper hull plates. I felt it close enough to walk onto it.

It stood there for what seemed to be about 5 minutes while I looked. Then 'it' "JUMPED OFF" at a velocity I had to calculate as acceleration according to the time I was able to deduce by the distance I was able to reference as being able to see and lock as a standard ability.

The final accelerative calculation gave 'it' a velocity of approximately 3700 miles in that splitting of a second. It need be realized that at the end of one second its' accelerative velocity was much greater if the accelerative vector was maintained.

It is possible that the amount of time it takes to read this is comparable to the amount of time of the real elapsed time of the event.

Thank you to the witnesses for the report.

Blue UFOs/Lights And 40 Minutes Missing Time 100 Mile House To Clinton British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  March 7, 1993

Time:  Early evening.

Listen in to the lady describe what it was she saw in this telephone interview: https://jmp.sh/B4LE4um

I talked with a nice lady who wanted to make a report of what she saw, and took place. She is living in Clinton, B.C. and drove to 100 mile House for her grandson's third birthday. After her day with her family members it was 6:25 p.m. when the lady left to drive back home to Clinton.

She told me she planned to drive straight through, not stopping along the way. The lady was approximately 10 miles north of Clinton at a high point in her journey when she witnesses a brilliant blue light hovering down in the meadow off of the highway. The light was so bright it lit up the entire area around it.

The woman told me she didn't know what to think at that time and just continued along towards home. The witness never got to much further when she saw three other blue lights shaped in a V pattern hovering off to the side of the highway and up the bank just a head of her vehicle.

As she drove by the lights, baffled at what was causing the lights, the next thing the lady remembered was pulling into the small community where she resides. What has her thinking about this experience is that there appears to be a loss of 40 minutes that she cannot recall.

The witness also commented that she felt rather unusual after she arrived home, but never thought alot about it at that time.

Two days after witnessing the blue lights she drove back to 100 Mile House and along the way she kept her eyes peeled to see if there was a home, or something along the way that may have caused the lights that she observed. No structures or anything else was seen in the areas the lights were.

Some days later the woman talked with a fellow who also saw the blue lights around the location the lady had saw them. Then the following week the local newspaper ran an article about blue lights seen by others over 108 Mile.

Because of now knowing a few others had saw the same as her, she drove around to some of the farms asking the folks if they had witnessed anything at the time and date the lights were observed. The lady had no luck finding anyone else.

Listen in to the lady describe what it was she saw in this telephone interview: https://jmp.sh/B4LE4um

Thank you to the person for their report.

Object/UFO Changes To Red And Grows In Size Four Seasons Park Houston British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  December 1994.

Time:  10:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Four Seasons Park, Houston, B.C.

Number of witnesses: 5

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: circular

Full Description of event/sighting: When I was 14, some friends and I were snowmobiling around Four Seasons Park in Houston B.C. There were five of us and two snowmobiles.

We had experienced some strange events in that area before, but this one was the freakiest and the one I remember the most. There were three of us on one snowmobile, and two on the other.

The larger of the snowmobiles dies on us in the middle of the ball field. The other snowmobile was small and could not carry everyone, so one of us who was on the broken sled got on the other and got a ride back to the house we were staying at on Jewel Road.

The two remaining of us (myself and friend) decided that we would leave the sled and start walking. We walked for what we felt was only a couple of steps in the deep snow and then when we looked back the sled was far away, like 100meters.

We were both really confused at the moment and then we saw our friend coming for us on the snowmobile after she had dropped off the other two. We immediately began running towards the snowmobile. When we got to it we hoped on and started heading back to the house.

We were being followed by what we thought was another sled and we were already freaked out by the walking distance thing so we were yelling at our driver to go faster. The "sled" behind us kept right up and changed in color and size very quickly.

It started out as a regular white light which resembled the headlight of a snowmobile, but as we went faster, it grew larger and also changed to a deep red colour.

As soon as we got out of the trees and closer to the houses it just disappeared. We were all quite shaken up and all three of us saw the same thing and could not explain it.

Bright Lights Milton Ontario

This sighting report was never posted !

Date:  July 31 2019

Time::  2:50 a.m.

Location of Sighting: Town/City/State/Province:      Milton, Ontario.

Number of Objects:  2

Shape of Objects:  One was spherical and the other was triangular

Colour of Object:  The lights were blue, red, yellow and white

Full Description of Event/Sighting: My and I friend were sitting out on the balcony at a sleepover to just talk and we see a very bright yellow light from what seems very far way. We think it’s a star because it was way too bright to be a plane. It started slowly moving to the left so we’re like okay, whatever it’s an airplane. We look away for about 30 seconds to look for constellations and we look back at the light and it has totally changed directions and is now going to the right. It’s much faster now and you can see the flashing lights.

Still, we’re kind of thinking it’s a plane to be rational. Then, it so silently keeps moving and it comes closer to us. It looked as if it was just a few houses down hovering above the roof. it hovered for a good 8 seconds before starting to move again and disappear over the houses roof. It seemed so close and from the way it was hovering we thought it could’ve been a drone but the way it moved and came from so far, it couldn’t of been.

That was the spherical one. Next, about 10 minutes later we sat back out on the balcony and we see another, not as bright, yellow light in the same spot that the first UFO began in.

This one too started moving to the left and then the right. It did almost the exact same at the first one, but when it came closer to our right we saw three bright yellow lights that formed a triangle almost with the coloured lights. And it was too much of an equilateral triangle to be a plane. We do have video proof of the second UFO, but not the first as we didn’t have our phones.

Thank you to the witnesses for the report.

Round White Unknown Object/UFO In The Sky Over Kamloops British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  September 18, 2003

Time:  Just after 7:00 p.m.

Dear Mr. Vike, I take it you will not release my name. I am not anxious to attract attention.

On Thursday, September 18th/03 (shortly after 7:00 p.m. I think) I witnessed a white spherical object moving in roughly an east to west direction over Kamloops. It was not yet dark.

I estimate the circumference of the object at about 3/4 of the size of a dime held at arms length.

I was sitting on my balcony in Sahali facing east and south watching a thick lower cloud cover get fiercely blown, roughly from west to east (possibly southwest to northeast?).

We had very strong winds that afternoon and evening. The sky was not fully overcast and there were two levels of cloud cover. The upper cloud layer was much less dense, more dispersed, and did not move nearly as rapidly as the lower cloud cover.

As I looked up between, say, +/-35 degrees to the horizon I saw a perfectly round very white object come into my view moving slowly in a straight line roughly east to west (possibly northeast to southwest) above the lower cloud cover (at roughly the same level as the upper cloud cover).  In any event it appeared to be moving in the direction opposite to the wind.

I observed this object between 30 seconds to 60 seconds. Towards the end of the sighting the object appeared to smoothly turn away from me slightly as it moved into clouds in the upper cloud layer where I could no longer see it. It did not remerge that I could see.

I cannot estimate the size of this object. I am not particularly good at distances and my only real frames of reference are the two layers of cloud cover. I don't know the elevations.

I believe it shifted direction slightly because it appeared to reduce somewhat in size before it entered the upper clouds as if it had turned away and was receding into the distance.

I won't hazard a guess at the size of the object, but I will stand on the fact that it was white, perfectly round, and it moved against the direction of the lower cloud cover.

Has anyone else been reporting sightings of objects in the sky around Kamloops recently?

Thank you to the witnesses for the report.

Dark Gray Disk Shaped UFO Over Thronhill Terrace British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  August 31, 2003

Time:  Approxamtlty: 7:00 p.m.

About an hour ago I had a fellow telephone me from Terrace, British Columbia to make a report, he said they had heard me on the radio speaking about UFO sightings in the area. He and his fiancée were on their way home, which is in the Thronhill area of Terrace when they spotted a strange object hovering high in the sky.

The couple were driving along Crumb Road and looked up just over the trees and high up underneath the clouds they saw the object. He described it as being rather flat, dark gray in color and it sat stationary for approxamtlty one minute before it disappeared.

They both saw a number of lights on it, the fellow said he thought there were 5 lights, and his fiancée thought there were 6. All the lights were white in color and the witness said they looked like the headlights on a vehicle. The witness believe the lights were running around the object, but was hard to say for sure.

His fiancée thought at first it may have been a plane, but they soon ruled that out because it sat in the same position for such a long time. "It did not move". After I asked a number of questions, the witnesses said the object would have been shaped more like a disk in shape. It was rather long, but not a lot of height to it.

I asked the witness if he might give me some kind of idea of the size of the craft. As we know this is not an easy thing to do. The man turned to his fiancée and asked, both said they thought it may have been around one and a half thumbs wide. This was a guess at how long this object may have been. No sound was heard, mainly because the couple were in their vehicle and they may have not heard anything due to the altitude the craft was at. They also reported that the sun was not shinning off it, in other words no reflection off the object.

The couple said after the object disappeared they drove to the airport just to have a look to see if any planes were around the area, he told me there was nothing in the air.

Thank you to the witnesses for the report.

Orange And Red Objects/Lights Over Aylmer Ontario

This sighting report was never posted !

Date:  June/July 2019

Time:  Evenings.

I live in Front Street in Aylmer, Ontario and I saw an orange/red orb 2 times in the last couple of months.

At first I thought it was a plane, but then it stopped and then it started shrinking and shrinking just stationary.

Then after three shrinks it wasn’t there anymore.

The second it was a very bright light reddish in color that was stationary. I  thought it was Mars.

It didn’t move at all, then all of the sudden it started moving faster than a plane, but steady and then after 5-10 seconds it just wasn’t there anymore.

I just Google UFO Aylmer and saw your post. Weird that is the same street. That’s all.

Cheers.

Numerous Witnesses To UFO Or Spectacular Fireball Sayward British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

I have telephone interviews with pretty much everyone, but can’t locate them right now, so when I find the audios I will post them down the right hand sidebar of my blog here.

Date: July 29, 2002

Time: 10:50 p.m.

Witness #1 (out of 6 witnesses)

On October 3, 2002 I had a telephone call from a lady who resides in Sayward, British Columbia which is located on the north eastern shore of Vancouver Island. It has about 1500 inhabitants and is approximately two hours south of Port Hardy, one hour north of Campbell River and four hours north of the provincial capital, Victoria.

She had read an article which I had written and which had been published in the North Island Gazette (in a letter to the editor) where I had asked residents to report any strange lights they may have seen recently in the area and which I could investigate.

I had heard from a colleague who informed me that a number of witnesses had reported seeing a large fireball over Sayward, B.C. on the evening of July 29, 2002.

Below Image: Location map of Sayward, British Columbia.

The reason why I was so interested in hearing from these folks was due to the major sighting which took place here (Houston, Quick, Telkwa and Smithers, British Columbia) on the same evening where nine witnesses in four different communities watched an unforgettable event which seemed to be connected to the Sayward B.C sighting.

Below Drawing: Witness drew what it was they observed.

The lady went on to tell me that there was a total of six witnesses who she knew who had also observed the same thing. Her mother, aunt and three other women had witnessed this strange object, all within a kilometer from each other and to this day she can't figure out what it may have been.

Below Image: Witness #1 filled out a questionnaire for Ed Majden - EMO Fireball Network Station, Courtenay: http://victoria.rasc.ca/articles/2003/sandia_bolide.htm

When it was first observed she told me that she thought it was a meteor, but as it travelled along, she quickly changed her mind.

She said after the event was over she logged on to the internet to seek help in trying to find an answer which might give some clue as to what she had seen.

She found a Meteorologist in Courtney, B.C. and wrote him a letter explaining what it was she had seen and heard.

The gentleman told her that it was most likely a meteor, but she felt like she was getting the run around, and nothing basically came from her request for information.

She'd been told to provide the latitude and longitude of her sighting .. and of course she was unable to do that. It was not her expertise !

However he did ask if he could send out a short questionnaire for her and the other witnesses to complete.

She received the paperwork and forwarded it to the other ladies and they all filled it in. After the questionnaires were completed and collected, everyone's information was basically the same. Three of the witnesses drew pictures of their sighting.

Below Drawing: Witness drew what it was they observed.

Another trip to the internet (to my website) provided the witness with more accounts of the same sighting. A similar object had been seen further north (Bulkley Valley) on the same date, much to her surprise. She immediately contacted me by telephone to tell me of her experience and how she thought it may have been the same object.

The only difference in all the reports is that this witness did hear noises and went on to say the other three ladies also heard the same sounds.

She explained where she was standing, on her driveway and the object was "just there" in front of her "just" above the small mountain. I was told by this witness that it was the noise which had attracted her attention.

In her words she said the sound was like that of a "screecher" (fire cracker) which gave off a whistling noise. When she looked up, the first thing that was noted was a white tail.

She also said the object looked as if it was hovering, moving really slowly. It also had a white core center and black coloring around the outside edges. It was also described as being covered with fire, or an orange color all the way around it.

As this was taking place, she heard a scream from her neighbors property behind her. Her comments to herself after hearing the screaming from the neighbors was, "exactly"!, meaning she was glad someone else saw it.

After she lost sight of the object, a couple of minutes went by when her mother and aunty came driving up in their van.

The witness got into the van and did not want to mention what she had just seen, but because it was such an amazing event she said to her mother and aunty you wouldn't believe what I just saw. The two women just looked at her and said, "did you see what we've just seen"? She told them yes.

Brian Vike's, Note: I have talked to the two witnesses who were driving the van at the time and have their reports as well.

They will be written up separately. Some of the witnesses work for the Provincial Emergency Program, so all are very credible and thought, at the time, that they were going to have to respond to crashed aircraft.

I asked the woman if she could give me a rough idea how far off the ground the object might have been, she turned and asked her boyfriend, he said their property was sitting about 100 feet above sea level, and the witness said the object was approximately 100 feet off the ground traveling horizontally.

Her thoughts were that the object was going to go into the ocean. It seemed as if it had just crashed.

She explained that the Meteorologist she had contacted ... had said, in all his days...he has never heard of a meteor making any noise. When I asked the witness about the size of this object, she said it was "Huge"!

I asked her what was the duration of the sighting and she replied that she had watched the object for approximately 3 to 4 seconds before she lost sight of it when the trees on her property blocked the view.

I received copies of the drawings made by the witnesses and also copies of the questionnaires which you have found in this report.

Questionnaire from EMO Fireball Network Station Courtenay for the witnesses to fill out. http://www.amsmeteors.org/spectra/majdenobs.html

So far we have had no reports on this object. Can you or someone that observed this event answer a couple of questions?

1. How bright was it as compared to the Moon or the planet Venus? Venus should have been visible low in the NW around evening twilight.

2. You mentioned sound associated with this object. Was this sound simultaneous or occurring at the same time you saw the object or was it delayed sound?

3. Did you hear a sonic boom? If so, how long after you saw the fireball did it occur?

4. What part of the sky was it in?

5. Did it pass overhead?

6. What was the duration of the fireball?

7. Would you say it was fast, slow, etc.

8. Did it break-up or fragment or was it just a solid object?

Please answer these questions as best you can. Ask them of each person who saw the event and try not to influence them as to what they saw. Have them report their own impression of what they observed or heard.

If we get any more reports I will let you know. Thanks for reporting this to us.

The results to the above questions have been postal mailed to me, as soon as I receive them I will post the answers to these questions.

Below is an email I received from the Sandia Bolide Detection Station EMO Courtenay, B.C in which explained the gentleman's thoughts on what he felt the residents of Sayward saw. I do thank this fellow for his input and answering my email.

Hello Brian:

Thanks for your email. This object was probably a bright meteor. You get all kinds of strange reports when these events occur as most people that see a bright fireball are surprised by it and are not skilled at making such observations.

We often get reports that the meteor landed just behind my farmer Joe's barn. If you see a bright fireball, it is still quite high in the atmosphere and many kilometers from you.

The last portion of the flight is not visible. Directions are not accurate either. It can be moving toward you or away from you and still draw the same path across the sky. It is better to ask the observer if it was going from left-to-right or right-to-left.

This way we can determined if we have observers on both sides of the path. This is necessary if you want to do a triangulation and plot a possible fall area. You should see the reports we get from UFO buffs! If the fireball is near you, a sonic boom is often heard, sometime after the event.

Perhaps several minutes later depending on how far away it is. Some people report simultaneous sounds but this is still not proven. It is probably too late to do anything about this event but we are still interested in hearing about them.

Best regards:

Ed Majden - Sandia Bolide Detection Station EMO Courtenay, B.C.

Brian Vike's, Note: I already have two more reports to add soon to this page, and I will be contacting the other three witnesses tonight, October 8, 2002.

Sayward, British Columbia

Witness #2 (out of 6 witnesses)

I interviewed a very nice lady who took the time to explain what she had seen the night of July 29, 2002.

In this report two sisters were in their vehicle when the passenger exclaimed "oh my goodness, what is that"? The driver then spotted the object, and thought both women thought it was an airliner about to crash.

She said it was very "low" and thought it was on fire. She again stressed just how low it was from the ground. (Maybe 150 feet when she watched it pass by.)

Below Image: Witness #2 filled out a questionnaire for Ed Majden - EMO Fireball Network Station, Courtenay British Columbia, Canada.

I asked the witness if the object was traveling in a horizontal position, or had any slight angle to it. She said it could have been going straight, meaning flying horizontally.

She stopped for a moment, and said to me, "I know this is going to sound strange, but it looked as if it was being operated by someone !"

She said she didn't think it was falling down at all, but more like an airplane which was coming into an airport to land and almost following a straight path.

As both women are part of the Provincial Emergency Program they were concerned that they would be called out that night to deal with an impending crash.

They rushed down to the wharf to see if there was any activity in the water, island or on the mainland which isn't far from Sayward across the ocean. They were expecting to see flames, debris and a crash scene and couldn't not believe that there was no sign of anything out of the ordinary.

The witness described the object as being dark. It looked like a big black cloud with the moon behind it. She said it was very long, like a cigar shaped object.

Brian Vike's Note: She did not want to use the words "cigar shaped", as she had heard of these types of objects before. She preferred to compare it to the shape and size of the body of a 747 aircraft.

Next day she drove past the same spot where the object had been seen previously and realized what she had seen had indeed been flying "very low". There had been no sound heard from the object because the women were traveling inside a vehicle at the time.

She stressed to me it did not look like it was falling, but being handled. (She said I don't know if that is the right word to use, but it looked as if it was coming in to land, and looked to her as if it was on fire.) She went on to say, I couldn't tell you what it was, but I sure know what I saw !

The witness also drew what she saw on paper, and after everyone was done, all the drawings were compared and found to be identical.

Her sighting lasted for approximately: 4 seconds. It was also moving very slow, and like she mentioned to me, she had seen many meteors in her life, and this was no meteor.

Thank you so much to this witness for sharing her experience with me.

Sayward, British Columbia

Witness # 3

I talked with the third witness who gave a brief description of what she saw on July 29, 2002. She said it looked like a plane blowing up ! (A huge fireball of flame). She also told me that the object was very low to the ground, but it was hard to estimate the exact altitude.

Below Image: Witness #3 filled out a questionnaire for Ed Majden - EMO Fireball Network Station, Courtenay British Columbia, Canada.

It was traveling straight along, not falling at an angle.

This witness said she heard no sound coming from it.

She described the color as being orange/yellow.

It also had a short tail following behind. In her estimation she figured the total time of the sighting lasted between 5 to 8 seconds.

She claims the object was traveling in a northerly direction.

Thank you to this witness for her report.

Brian.

Below Image: Witness #4 filled out a questionnaire for Ed Majden - EMO Fireball Network Station, Courtenay British Columbia, Canada.

I had no written report for the fourth witness, I do though have an audio interview.

I would like to thank the witness for all of their help.

Brian.
