Bright streak of light.
Full Description of event/sighting: We started out looking for the moon tonight, but we saw something else instead that really blew our minds. We decided to go out of town to a deserted road to find the moon because we were having no luck with all the lights in town and the moon was supposed to be an interesting design tonight, but we couldn't even find the moon.
So we were looking up at the Orion constellation, when suddenly out of no where came this flaming object streak that almost looked like a firework, but no sound, and was gone in a matter of seconds.
At first we thought it was the shuttle, but when we came home we found out that it landed earlier today. The description that I can best give of it was, it started like a red around the rim firework and white in the middle. It really lit up the sky and went from east to west.
We didn't know what we were seeing until we checked up on the web and found this website and others like it. Strangely enough other people in the last month have been seeing stuff like this as well which really piqued my interest.
Star Prairie, WI is right near the border of MN, just east of St. Paul. This happened around 11:00 p.m. Sunday night, December 1st, 2008.
