Time: Approx: 12:30 a.m.
Myself and a few friends saw a similar thing outside of a bar here in Camrose, Alberta at approximately 12:30 a.m. January 2012. One orange/red orb moving east to west lasted about 4 minutes.
It seems that people have seen this all over the country and the world last night shorty after bringing in the New Year.
This is very strange indeed!

Im in a reserve just on the outskirts of calgary, and back in 2000 i was just glancing out my window (high rise) and saw a red light rise from the glenmore resevior area, then fly into the sky..id say it was about the size of maybe a helicopter..it was pretty amazing!
