Location of Sighting: Grimsby, Ontario,Canada
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 3
Shape of objects: 3 star-like lights in triangle formation.
Full Description of event/sighting: Hello. This is not a spectacular sighting, but just for the record and in consideration of the recent triangle UFO reports in the Niagara region. I've finally decided to report a moving triangle pattern of 3 star-like lights that I observed at 8 minutes after midnight on May 27/08. As I recall (and also I did make some written notes in my day planner), these lights were solid white with slight blue tinge, medium bright (again star-like) and they did not vary in intensity throughout the observation. They were 3 points of light that moved together, from my perspective they formed a triangle pattern in the shape of a classic Pythagorean right angle triangle (with side ratios of approx. 3,4,5). However this perceived shape could also have been caused just from the low viewing angle it appeared at. The long pointed end of the triangle was pointed in the direction of travel which was southeast in direction. I was in my backyard stargazing and I first noticed the motion in the Western sky, approximately over Hamilton and approx. 25 degrees up elevation from the Western horizon in the near vicinity of the constellation Leo.
The pattern tracked very slowly towards the South where I lost it in the horizon haze and just to the right (Western side) of the constellation Scorpios. The sky was clear and calm with some haze on the horizon and not too much light pollution. Total duration of sighting approx. 45 seconds to 1 minute. I observed this also with binoculars and as I tracked with it I noticed the star-field moving through it and behind it. In other words, it appeared as 3 independent lights i.e.. not solid body. Again, the lights were very steady in intensity and were definitely not aircraft lights (absolutely no red/green nav. or red/white strobe lights). There was no sound whatsoever. I have no way of really estimating their distance and altitude but they gave the impression of being quite high up e.g.. satellite territory (100's of miles) but I concede they could have been lower (thousands of feet).
In fact, I would concede that these may actually have been satellites, but I think what bothers me most about this is that, 1) I've never witnessed 3 satellites flying in formation, 2) aren't satellites expensive enough on their own, why task 3 to be in the same region of space at the same time, 3) the absolute precision of formation while in motion that these objects moved in was amazing, it was as if they were attached to a single object or linked in unison somehow.
I've always done some stargazing and astronomy since I was younger so I feel I have some experience looking at nighttime sky objects. I've seen literally hundreds of satellites, some spectacular meteors (of which I even have some photos) and of course many nighttime aircraft. This is the first report I've made like this. I'm not prone to leaps of imagination but tend to be realistic and, in this case, I just saw what I saw. I found your website after making this sighting and have been checking it regularly ever since and in light of recent reports from this region. I've learned some good lessons to which I try to adhere; a) I now always carry a digital camera with me (with extra batteries) wherever I go. b) I know how to use this camera, even in the dark. c) I pay way more attention, day or night, to the skies around me. By the way, I think your website is great and your providing a much needed venue for reporting these anomalies and providing it in a style that is not intimidating. Thank you for your time and patience.
Thank you to the witness for their report.

Pasadena, Newfoundland A Bright Orb
Posted: December 13, 2008
Date: December 2, 2008
Time: Approx: 4:00 a.m.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Orb.
Weather Conditions: Cloudy, rain showers.
Description: At around 4:00am I went to the bathroom, when I returned I gazed out my window, while trying to fall asleep, I saw a bright orb that was slowing, stopping, and backing up in the sky in a back and forth motion. It wasn't the crescent moon that was aligned with the planets either. I watched it for about an hour, sometimes it would be lost in the clouds, then I'd see it again, flying in the same area. I lost sight of it again. Then I saw what looked like some
kind of bright burst or explosion and then it was gone. I didn't see it again after the explosion.

Stoney Trail, Calgary, Alberta A Rectangular Shaped UFO
Posted: December 13, 2008
Date: November 30, 2008
Time: 3:30 a.m.
Number of witnesses: 3
Number of objects: 2
Shape of objects: Central light point outlined by four perimeter light point in a (rectangular?) shape.
Weather Conditions: Calm, no wind, cool, clear.
Description: At approx 3:30am MST an object appeared about NNW from our location roadside. The object at first appeared to be the Calgary Police's Hawc helicopter, but very quickly I - and the two other people in my car - realized this was not HAWCs at all. We also quickly ruled out conventional aircraft due to the objects relative size, speed, and light patterns. The object was high enough that we could just make out 5 lights, a blue in the center and four lights in a rectangle around the object. The last four lights were continuously strobing rapid patterns of red and white.
Even though the lights were small enough to indicate the object was at a high elevation, the span of the lights covered about 1 cm x 0.6cm of my vision, making it significantly larger than any plane I had ever seen. The object was also closing distance toward us visibly fast. What stands out about this speed is that the object was coming head on our direction, but we could still determine that it was moving quickly.
Within about 10 seconds a second, identical, object separated from what had originally appeared to be one object. One of the objects continued its trajectory toward us, and the other object headed (banked?) to the East. Once we saw the lateral motion we were able to reinforce our belief that these objects were moving exceptionally fast. The oncoming object was lost to our vision as it passed over the car - this occurred within about 30-45 seconds. In the time it took to open the door and look for it, the object was a smallish speck hovering far behind our position. In this same time the eastbound object had reached a distance that made it, too, a smallish speck. The east object maintained visible color pattern strobing while it hovered ! in position, occasionally strafing left and right by small amounts.
I attempted to use my camera phone to capture an image or video of the objects, but I could not locate them on my screen. The only video oddity was that a reflection-looking green "sunspot" would appear on my screen when it was facing the object but angle to a mostly level trajectory (pointed roughly at the horizon rather than the object) I believe the surrounding streetlights may have been responsible for this abnormality. While the east object continued strobing softly (though no longer continuously) the object to my south began to dim.
Just as I thought it might disappear from sight altogether it suddenly glowed very bright again. The diameter of the yellow-orange glow was such a distinct increase in size and brightness (to beyond that of any star) that it gave the impression that the object was speeding back in our direction. It quickly faded again, strafing ever so slightly as it did. This dimming and brightening recurred again and again for maybe 30 min - I do not know if it was simply that the object was advancing and backing off or if it was actually pulsing with light - before we finally lost view of both objects completely.
Two final points of interest. We never heard any sound from either object. I do not know whether this was due to there high altitude or some other reason. Also, when they changed direction, the size, shape, relative location, color etc of the lights remained constant. ie: they looked like the points of a face-on rectangle regardless of their direction of travel.

Between Crossfield And Carstairs, Alberta Ball Of Light
Posted: December 8, 2008
Date: December 13, 2003
Time: 11:10 p.m.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: A ball of light.
Weather Conditions: I can't remember, but I think it was clear with a bit of clouds and snow on the ground.
Description: My sister and I were returning from a long day of shopping in Calgary and live in Carstairs. Heading northbound on Highway 2 we had just passed our usual landmarks near Crossfield to know our turn off the highway was coming up in a few kilometers(these points being a service station and truck stop on the right side and a cemetery on the left). Adjoining the cemetery is an overpass and as we were coming out from under that pass and rounding a bend in the highway the whole sky from horizon to horizon lit up like day in this great white light that lasted a second or so. We could see all around, but thought it was some freak lightening. As the night returned to normal in that second, a white ball of light (from our distance it was about the size of a volleyball) came straight down from the sky and then bounced right back up the way it had come. I thought it had hit the farmers field straight in front of us, that was how close it seemed.
Of course we also looked at each other to see if we were nuts, but we both had truly seen this phenomenal thing. It had to be the most exciting thing I have ever experienced in my life, I have to say, and I wish for more every time I'm driving at night, to this day.
TV/Radio: I had looked on the internet for sightings of this incident a few days later and had found a few. It was exciting to know we weren't the only ones who witnessed this, it still haunts me to this day (being close to the date 5 years later and current "fire in the sky" reports in the news).

Hamilton, Ontario Bright Yellow Pulsating Rods
Posted: December 8, 2008
Date: November 20th/21, 2008
Time: 12:30 a.m. - 1:00 a.m.
Number of witnesses: 1+
Number of objects: 2
Shape of objects: Bright yellow pulsating rods.
Weather Conditions: Clear skies.
Description: In the sky, which was very clear, above my neighborhood to the right of the horizon were two bright vertical skinny rods of light, pulsating in orange/yellow colour, parallel to each other, but not sure how far apart they were exactly. It was not an Aurora Borealis or anything like that, for example the air traffic flood lights. One of the rods, on the left, was clear throughout but the second one on the right side would appear/disappear intermittently.
I couldn't take my eyes off of them and tried to look at them as long as possible. After about 20 or so minutes, both of the rods disappeared. I then looked to the left of the horizon from my balcony and there was a strong white cluster of lights beaming in stillness through one of the small clouds and emanating what I thought were multiple white rods. I could distinguish the light from the small amount of clouds because they were brighter. I could then faintly see one brighter rod emanating from the cluster of white lights.
