Sky Opens Up And Large UFO Travels Over The Trees In Lethbridge Alberta

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date: August 15, 2008

Time: 9:35 p.m.

Location of Sighting: At home in Lethbridge.

Number of witnesses: 2

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Cigar, large tube.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was told to watch the remnants of a meteorite storm that had taken place the night before. My wife and I where sitting and standing in our back yard, as it was just starting to get dark out side so we could see the stars. It was a clear, calm night.

When I was looking up to the shooting stars, I was staring Northwest in the sky and I noticed a red star. Then the red star started to move around in the sky, blending in with the night sky. Then I turned to look at the Northeast side of the sky and I said to my wife here comes something. And the strangest thing was the opening of the sky, it looked like a cartoon how the sky just opened up, it was just bizarre.

This large object came through the hole in the sky really fast and silent. I turned and said to my wife, " this is not a shooting star" and as it came closer, I said, "this is a ship of some kind" and then it came right towards me and all of a sudden it was right above my house, huge and silent.

The material that it was made of was clear as the day sky. The ship had no lights on, it flew slow and silent once it was over my home.

I was telling my wife to look up at this incredible ship. It was tree level, you could throw a rock at it, being so close. I had never seen this kind of construction before. The material was dark grey or brown, it was really weird.

The ship did not have any windows or anything that one could see. I ran out into the street to watch it, the strangest thing was when I tried to get people to look up at it, nobody would respond.

One of my employees saw it fly over his house at around the same time I saw it. He said he followed it for about 5 minutes until it vanished back into the sky. He said the same thing, there were people outside as he followed it and nobody would look up. I was startled for a few days thinking about this.

I have seen several UFOs over the years living up Northern Alberta, but nothing like this, almost touching the tree tops.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

UFO Sightings In Valley Spike In 2008

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Newspaper Article.

By Brian Bloom

Houston Today newspaper.

UFO sighting shot up to more than 1000 a ear across Canada in 2008, an increase of 26 per cent over the previous year.

In the Bulkley Valley, this trend has been followed closely by Brian Vike, a prominent ufologist based in Houston. Numerous incidents have been reported in the region he said, including a “major” incident at Granisle in the middle of February.

Witnesses of these alleged events include people from all walks of life. Vike said the reason for the spike in sightings could in fact be a genuine increase in visiting UFO’s, and a reflection of the power of the internet as a medium.

“The internet makes a big difference, “ he said. “Before, people would send a letter, but they often wouldn’t know who to contact if they saw something. They would keep it to themselves because they didn’t want to be laughed at.”

Indeed, he thinks there may have been many more sightings that went unreported.

“I bet we only get 5 per cent of what is being seen,” he said.

“Nobody wants to talk about it for whatever reason, but I bet if I walked around Parksville with my HBCC UFO Research jacket on, you would be surprised at how many would say, “oh, I saw something last month that was really weird.”

Unexplained Sighting In The Area

Wednesday March 5, 2003.

Volume 83 – No. 10.

Have you ever spotted strange lights in the sky? What about a fast moving object that defies the laws of gravity? If you haven’t, your chances of seeing a UFO in Northern B.C. is greater than any other region of Canada.

The communities of Terrace and Houston have just recently been named in the top 10 list of UFO sightings across Canada.

Terrace is the B.C. capital for sightings and third across the country, while Houston placed second in B.C. and fourth across the country.

The list compiled 483 eyewitness reports from around the country in 2002. One-third of all the sightings were reported in B.C.

Brian Vike is a leading Ufologist based out of Houston, B.C. who is the founder of the HBCC UFO website and investigator of strange phenomenon in the region since 2000. Since the survey was released, Vike says his phone has been ringing off the hook.

“People are aware now that there is actually someone who investigates  and talks to people and tries to figure out what people are seeing,“ says Vike.

Even in the last week there have been many sightings reported in the northwest region.

One “large disk shaped object” was spotted on February 22 over a one hour period by observers in three different areas of B.C.

The object was described as very large, slow moving, with bright lights on the underside and completely silent.

The first witness spotted the object in Mill Bay, Vancouver Island at 9:15 p.m. followed by two Alcan employees in Kitimat, B.C. at 10:20 p.m. Shortly after, a husband and wife stopped their vehicle between Terrace and Prince Rupert to watch the object.

On February 3, 2003 a Canfor employee out of Houston noticed three bright, hazy blue/white lights in the shape of a rectangle fly past them quickly at a very low altitude.

Other witnesses have come forward in Houston since the sighting was released to inform Vike that they had witnessed the same object 12 hours before the Canfor employee.

The Lakes District has also had it’s fair share of unexplained that have been investigated by Vike, who said he gets many calls from the area.

On February 14, 2002 two residents of Francois Lake noticed a bright fast moving object come towards, when all of a sudden it came to a complete stop and went totally dark.

The witness said that a bright flash of light was suddenly emitted from the object. They said a ray of light began to sweep the ground, which lit up a very large area. The object continued to scan the ground for a few minutes until it suddenly left the area at unprecedented speeds.

Vike also investigates the phenomenon of ‘crop circles’ that have been reported in the Vanderhoof area over the past few years.

While there have been hundreds of sightings in the northwest, many have been explained by military exercises or cosmic activity, such as planets or shooting stars.

“There is still so many of them that remain unexplained , but people are seeing things all the time ,” says Vike.

A film crew from the Canadian Life Network arrived in the area recently to start shooting a new series called “The Magnificent Obsession.”

Because of the surge of sightings in the northwest in the past two years, Vike was asked to take part in the documentary, which will include other Ufologists from the U.S. and England.

Vike is hoping that other people will come forward to report any strange occurrences, phenomenon, or generally, things that go bump in the night.

Strange Lights In Sky

Prince George Citizen Newspaper

A local resident wants to know if anyone else has seen fast moving balls of fire in the sky above Prince George in recent months.

Lisa Hallam says she's witnessed the sight on three separate occasions -- including Monday night -- as well as August 18, 2003 and January 31, 2004.

"The first time I saw this intensely red ball of fire was last August 18 above Punchaw Park, just off Ness Avenue where I live," said the 35-year old Hallam, describing the object's size as about four times the size of the brightest star in the sky.

"I knew it wasn't Mars because it was located behind me," said Hallam.

She said another strange thing at the time was the electronics in her home "started acting funny. We'd lose the TV signal and the screen would go green, and the VCR and DVD player turned themselves on and off," said Hallam, who's a CNC student.

"I saw the light again January 31. I thought I was losing my mind, so thank goodness my mother saw it, too. "(On Monday) night I was coming home about 6:30 p.m. along Rainbow Drive and there it was again, travelling northwest above Cranbrook Hill acting in the same manner as the others. It moved pretty fast.

It's so intensely red."

When Hallam reached home she continued to watch the sky, and said there were two other unique sites.

"Above Cranbrook Hill there was a circular shaped blue green hue that appeared both in front of and behind the clouds, and then I saw a long, rectangular hue of light-green light. It resembled the northern lights, but moved horizontally instead of up and down. My neighbour saw the bar-shaped hue, also."

That same day, Lisa's mother, Cheryll Hallam, said the electronics "went wonky" again. Gil Self, vice president of the Prince George Astronomical Society, said there had been no reports of the lights described by Hallam. "Right now Venus is brilliant due to its location in its orbit high in the western sky. It sparkles like a jewel", said Self, who said he never discredits reports by people, but instead, tries to explain the likely causes.

Self said there are many explanations for lights in the sky - refracted light from aircraft, electrical phenomenon in the sky, fireballs, meteorites, and electrical discharges from time to time.

UFO expert Brian Vike of Houston said: "I have no explanation for the sighting, but I am going to check out a few things regarding it and a few more sightings in the Prince George area."

Houston BC Resident Vike Busy Researching Sightings In Sky

A Houston man who researches celestial phenomena says a number of unexplained objects have appeared in the night sky over Prince George and the Northern Interior in recent years.

Brian Vike hopes local residents will phone his toll-free line, 1-866-262-1989, to report any unusual sightings.

Vike owns and operates HBCC UFO Research (HBCC stands for Houston, British Columbia, Canada), which he established in 2000. He says the number of reports of unexplained night-sky phenomena has increased dramatically since 2002.

"There is no doubt something is happening in our skies", he said. "Particularly in the last two months there have been a lot of strange things."

Vike said a Prince George resident reported a red ball of light just west of the city Jan.30 around 9.30 p.m.

"The first time it rose from behind trees, and then it moved to the west and hovered above the trees," he said.

"Afterwards it jumped higher quite suddenly, took off for the west, and made a curving motion.

"She said that, being so close, they thought it may be a helicopter but it made no noise." Vike says.

Another resident called around the same time to report exactly the same phenomena, he added.

Other Prince George residents saw a ball of light over the industrial area east of the downtown core, the evening of January 29th. "It flew over and split in two," Vike said. "Each part went in a different direction".

This week a city resident near First and Tabor told The Citizen she and four friends saw two orange objects in the northern sky, January 31st around 10.p.m. After five or 10 minutes they moved lightly apart, one more slowly than the other. The first one disappeared fairly quickly into clouds afterwards, while the other moved out more slowly and faded off.

Above a month and a half ago, Prince George residents phoned about a possible meteor, Vike said. "It was a real good fireball streaking across the sky just west of Prince," he said. "It was blue and left a long bright trail behind it. It lit up quite an area as it travelled through."

Another incident occurred in the city about a month ago. A resident was standing by the Future Shop, looking west just after the sky had turned dark. For two minutes the resident saw a large flame, such as from a jet afterburn, but they didn't see any aircraft anywhere.

Last Fall, a Quesnel resident driving north towards Prince George saw an oval shaped light from highway 97 between the two communities.

"In the last while dozens of people in Prince George have seen unusual phenomena," he said.

UFOs Create Tourism Boom In Terrace British Columbia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Newspaper Article.

By Jennifer Lang

Terrace Standard

Terrace's reputation as B.C.'s UFO capital is creating a new kind of tourism boom in the region.

Curious travellers from across North America are inquiring about the tourism facilities in communities across Highway 16, including Terrace, says a UFO researcher based in Houston, B.C.

"You would be surprised just how many emails I get over the months requesting information for our areas," says Brian Vike, editor of Canadian Communicator, a magazine specializing in the paranormal, and director of HBCC-UFO Research.

Earlier this year, Terrace cracked the top 10 in a national UFO survey, earning third place, just ahead of Houston, where Vike operates a toll-free UFO hotline so he can collect and investigate eye-witness reports.

Terrace recorded the third highest number of UFO sightings in the country last year, bringing national and international attention to the region, Vike says.

The resulting publicity means the northwest is rapidly emerging as one of the best places to see UFOs in Canada.

Savvy tourists know they're more likely to see a flying saucer than the elusive Kermode bear, the white form of a black bear that is the city's official symbol.

Vike says he's often contacted by UFO buffs and the just plain curious who want to know about the region's tourist attractions and accommodations.

"Many have never been up this way," Vike says. "So I give them the lowdown on what our communities have."

He tells them about camp sites in the area, the excellent hiking, fishing and boating opportunities here, the beautiful scenery and the range of wildlife.

"As a matter of fact, I receive so many emails, I was going to put up a page on my website which would give information to tourists on what we have."

Vike says 2003 is shaping up to be another record year for UFO sightings in the skies over Terrace, where 25 sightings were recorded last year, suggesting more national and international attention could be on its way.

"Right now Terrace has darn near caught up to last year's total count for sightings," he says.

UFO-related tourism is a growing market in the rest of the world.

Vulcan, a town of 1,700 in southern Alberta that's home to a replica starship and a tourist information centre built to look like a space station, isn't the only place cashing in on its Sci Fi cachet.

St. Paul, Alberta was out of the gate back in 1967, when it built the world's first UFO landing pad, ensuring that future space travel would be safe for all intergalactic beings.

"All visitors from earth or otherwise are welcome to this territory and to the Town of St. Paul," reads an inscription beside the 12-metre-diameter concrete pad.

The tiny U.S. town of Rachel, Nevada, meanwhile, has capitalized on its proximity to the mysterious Area 51, thought to be a secret U.S. military base.

Rachel's tourism industry began to take off in the late 1980s, thanks to its reputation as a reliable location for sightings, drawing ever larger numbers of "UFO tourists".

Nearby Nevada State Highway 375 was officially renamed the "Extraterrestrial Highway" to reflect the large number of sightings along this stretch of road.

Enterprising community leaders in other countries have boarded the UFO tourism spaceship, too.

Last year, a Chilean mayor took the bold move of designating the region near his town as an official UFO tourism zone because so many sightings have taken place in the Andes mountains there.

That's the kind of notoriety places like Terrace, Houston, and other Highway 16 towns could easily take advantage of.

While Terrace may presently lack an officially-sanctioned UFO tourism strategy, Vike is functioning as an unofficial intergalactic ambassador, sharing the region's latest eye-witness reports and his own pet theories with a curious world.

From Houston headquarters, he keeps busy doing interviews with newspapers, TV shows and radio talk shows all over North America.

Canada's Life network shot 18 hours of footage with Vike in Houston, Smithers and Telkwa in February. A documentary will air this fall season or early in the new year.

"All of this is great for tourism," he says, reminding northwest residents to keep their eyes to the skies this summer.

Vike has noticed a new pattern in the most recent reports: more eyewitnesses in the northwest are reporting objects in the sky, instead of just unexplained, or oddly-moving lights.

One sighting reported by multiple witnesses across a wide geographic area involved gigantic triangles.

Others have reported seeing crescent or ring-shaped objects in the sky.

Vike adds a number of eyewitnesses reported seeing a large, saucer-shaped disk travelling from Mill Bay on Vancouver Island to Kitimat past the Alcan Smelter and on towards Prince Rupert and Terrace.

Vike, a former forestry industry worker, tries to uncover likely explanations for what eyewitnesses have seen.

The planet Venus is sometimes mistaken for a UFO. Other sightings are later found to be aircraft, meteors, satellites, stars or even blimps, says Vike, who once belonged to the Royal Astronomical Society and volunteered at the planetarium in Vancouver.

Spate Of UFOs Sighted In Northern B.C. Skies

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Newspaper Article.

Prince Rupert

Canadian Press.

Published August 17, 2002

Brian Vike is not about to point to little green men, but he says something strange is happening in the skies of northern B.C.

Mr. Vike, a "ufologist" and editor of the paranormal magazine Canadian Communicator, is mystified by the largest number of airborne-phenomena reports he has seen.

Since Feb. 1, Mr. Vike has received 73 reports of strange lights and objects in the sky over the region. That compares to five or six reports at the same time last year.

Now he is hearing about sightings over the north coast, and wants to hear from Prince Rupert, B.C., residents who think they have had a close encounter.

"Things like real bright lights doing real strange things," he said. "If you look up in the sky and see a bunch of stars, and all of a sudden five points of light start moving together, then disappear -- that's not a satellite."

Of the 73 sightings, Mr. Vike said five can be explained as planets and shooting stars. The rest evade easy answers, such as the case of three women travelling from Smithers, B.C., to Houston, B.C., who encountered a "huge craft."

"It descended through the cloud cover, went towards them at about tree-top level and went right over their car," Mr. Vike said.

"I interviewed them, and they were just freaked. . . . The thing is, people want some answers for what they're seeing."

Mr. Vike guesses that the spate of unexplainable events may be linked to military activity in the area.

"One report we got from nine witnesses in several locations on July 29 was of a white [and]yellow object as big as a school bus that was seen below the horizon, going into the valley.

"Some of my contacts in the Department of National Defence haven't written back to me lately, which is unusual."

Mr. Vike said he has unconfirmed reports from Telkwa, B.C., and Houston of military vehicles travelling the back roads.

UFO Spotted Hovering Over Tree Line In Dunrobin

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Newspaper Article.

By Derek Dunn

Renfrew Mercury

Monday, June 21, 2010

UFO expert Brian Vike of Houston, B.C. received an email from Dunrobin reporting a strange sight on June 9, about 9:30 p.m.

Vike remains baffled by the sighting, saying most unidentified flying objects are either aircraft with flashing NAV lights, the planet Venus, satellites, balloons, the International Space Station and something similar.

“Over the last few years there has been an increase on one particular sighting, and this is of orange-red-yellow lights being seen all over the world. I receive reports of these lights from the UK on a daily bases,” Vike said

“As for the Dunrobin, Ont. sighting, as of now I am at a loss as to what this would have been.”

The report submitted to Vike’s website, http://www.kbccuforesearch.ca/ reads: “While lying in bed watching TV, we heard what we thought was strong wind. It was a strange sound. While we were listening to figure out what it was, my nine-year-old came running into my room in a panic.

“She kept insisting that there was a UFO out in the front. I told her it had to be a helicopter, but she said no way. My daughter is positive this is not a helicopter and this is a UFO.

“I’m thinking the noise I heard was strange, so maybe we better go and look. We run into her room and through her window we see a large object, just sort of hovering very slowly.

It was moving toward the east and looked like it was just over the tree-line. I couldn’t say if it was round or triangular because I was more fascinated by its lights, but my daughter says it’s definitely triangular and my husband agrees with her.

“The lights were bright and they were flashing on and off, red and white. It didn’t take long for it to leave our sight. I think that if I would have gone right into her room, I might have had a better look at it; it didn’t seem concerned about being seen as it was so low.

“You know, I don’t really believe in UFOs and now I’m not sure what to think. I know I saw this thing, but I can’t understand why it was not on the news or something at that hour of night; we can’t be the only ones that saw this.

“Let me know what you think or if someone else saw it too.”

Vike said were it a motorized object like a helicopter the sound would have been recognizable. It didn’t have normal NAV lights, he added. And yet he hasn’t heard from anyone else. Attempts by the newspaper to reach the Dunrobin woman reporting the UFO were unsuccessful.

“The object was certainly of a good size and with all the lights flashing off and on, one would think there would be others in the area who saw this thing. As of yet, I haven’t been able to locate them, if there was any,” Vike said.

“This object may well be something explainable, but as it stands right now, I have to class it as a UFO. I certainly am checking into the case and hopes of finding an answer to what the people saw that night.”

4 Orange Glowing Lights West In Coral Springs (Northwest Broward County) Florida

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  December 24, 2010

Time:  Evening.

My first sighting of this sort in my life. I was driving west in Coral Springs (Northwest Broward County) we saw 4 orange glow lights about the size of a very large star.  They moved in various directions.

Two seemed to move toward each other and all of them in right angles only.  When we got out of the car only one object was remained and it began to disappear behind the clouds.

Now I read that many other sighting like this have been occurring in the world this year.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Around 200 People Observe Illuminated Object Over Bellplain State Forest In Woodbine South Jersey

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  November 12, 2010

Time:  Approxamtlty 10:00 p.m.

Last night November 12, 2010 around 10:00pm about 200 spectators at a scheduled astronomy meet for the astronomy club located in the Bellplain State Forest in Woodbine in South Jersey saw this spectacular burst of illuminated debris fly over our heads. At first we thought it was a meteor (shooting star) but, it must have been a satellite burning up.

Many stated they never saw one travel so far and break apart as much as this one did and I agree, it stayed lit and traveled all the way to the horizon to the north of us and we lost site of it.

We would really like to know what it was, you can contact the club at www.sjac.us for a better description from someone else. I was hoping there was going to be something on the news about it, but saw nothing yet. Please reply on your site, Thank you.

UFO Sightings In The Falls

Niagara This Week - St. Catharines.

Thursday, November 6, 2008.

The number of Unidentified Flying Objects is on the rise here in the Niagara Region.

Last week, a black triangular shaped UFO was spotted between Fort Erie and Niagara Falls.

According to the witness report left on Brian Vike's Houston British Columbia Canada UFO Research website, witnesses say they were driving to the Niagara Square leaving Fort Erie when they spotted a very bright light.

As they drove closer, the one light became three and they said they could clearly make out a red pulsating light underneath the craft.

Witnesses reported that the craft was hovering silently and motionless over a field on the right side of the highway about 100 feet up.

Three weeks ago, another UFO was spotted in Niagara Falls.

Shane Sovar said it was about 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 when he was working at one of the hotels overlooking the falls.

"My security officer came out at some point," said Sovar. "He was looking out over the river and said either someone went into the river and they were looking for them or that's a UFO.

"I've never seen a bright light like that," said Sovar. "It wasn't pointing down, it was pointing right at us."

Sovar said just before the object got to the falls area it dimmed out a little, and that if it had continued on the same path it would have gone directly over top of him.

"When it was over the river it seemed closer and lower," said Sovar. "It seemed to be 50 to 75 feet over the hotel."

Sovar said as the object approached the hotel it seemed to slow down and it was directly over top of him. He said it was big, black and triangular with a big light on the front and a pulsating red light, akin to a heartbeat, underneath.

Sovar said that during that time of night there wasn't a lot of traffic or street noise and that you could have heard a pin drop. He said the object didn't make one sound.

This is the second sighting in the Niagara area this month and the fourth since the summer.

A Bright Light In UFO Tracking: Brian Vike

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Newspaper Article.

Houston resident Brian Vike is one of the best-known UFO watchers in Canada.

Andrew Hudson - Jan. 8, 2012 7:00 p.m.

A boy across the street from Brian Vike’s house was tilting a new-looking telescope at the moon last Tuesday.

Chances are, he saw what any budding stargazer would expect to see—eye-popping views of the massive lava basins and colossal impact craters that scar the lunar surface.

But if Vike’s young neighbour ever spots something strange in the Houston sky, something he can’t explain, he won’t have to go far to make a UFO report.

“Just what I need,” said Vike, laughing.

Brian Vike is one of the best-known UFO watchers in Canada. Google “red orange light” or “large circular UFO” and his Vike Factor blog pops up in the top results. The site lists 1,712 sightings reports for last year alone.

“Most people, I really do believe, are genuine,” Vike said. “Their seeing something doesn’t mean it’s extraterrestrial or anything like that. But they are seeing something, and what is it?”

In one report dated New Year’s Day, a man from Duncan, B.C. told Vike that his girlfriend had repeatedly told him about the pairs of “strange orbs” she had seen glowing red and orange in the sky.

“I thought she was off her rocker until last night when I seen this myself,” he wrote to Vike. “We watched in awe trying to figure out what they could possibly be. An airplane or a helicopter always has beacon lights—these did not!”

Vike said he is scrambling to catch up on more than 300 such reports, all of which came in between Dec. 24 and Jan. 3.

“It’s amazing stuff, but most of it’s explainable,” Vike said. A lot of the glowing “orbs” turn out to be Chinese paper lanterns—thin paper lanterns that can float up hundreds of feet in the air on the heat of a tiny candle.

In fact, Vike said that lantern “sightings” have become a bit of a nuisance since more and more people in Western countries have started lighting them for weddings and holidays. Some people get a little upset to hear that their UFO sighting might be nothing more than a hot paper bag.

“You don’t want to tell too many people that because they’ll start cursing at you,” said Vike, laughing.

Standing six feet tall and wearing a plain black baseball cap, it’s hard to imagine anyone getting upset with Vike. He has a friendly, funny manner that would make him a shoe-in for one of the Lone Gunmen—the squad of amateur conspiracy busters who used to make cameos on The X-Files TV show.

But before he flies off into science fiction, Vike has to check off a list of real-world possibilities for every new UFO report. That’s the idea, he said—to try and help people discover what they saw.

Vike often starts with websites like Heavens Above, which posts real-time tracking data for satellites, the International Space Station, space shuttle flights and visible meteor passes.

On New Year’s Eve, for example, Vike got a string of UFO sightings from across Arizona, New Mexico and southern Colorado that seemed to follow in the wake of a brightly burning meteor.

Vike also tries to follow launch times at big air bases like the Vandenberg air force base in northern California.

“They’ll send up a lot of rockets, space satellites, and military hardware,” Vike said. “A lot of people are interested in that alone.”

Many people who stumble on Vike’s website report things they saw years ago. From 1993, Vike noticed a wave of sightings are most likely from people who saw F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighters flying low over North America to fight in the first Gulf War.

“I had a whole whack of reports of triangles coming in along their flight path,” he said.

Military jets, northern lights, space junk and comets—those are all sightings that even alien hopefuls aren’t likely to be disappointed in.

But Vike said it’s easy to be caught off guard by much more Earthly things.

Vike said he once a V-shaped something fly over Houston. He got pretty excited before he heard wings and realized it was a flock of geese.

“At night time, you get town or city lights and they’re low enough that the lights hit their bellies and you get that big V-shape,” he said, laughing.

Still, other reports don’t lend themselves to easy explanation.

This January, a crew from the Canadian Discovery Channel will speak with Vike on camera about a “missing time” case.

Two Kelowna women told Vike that on July 31, 2003, they were walking a dog along a lake and saw three strange lights in the sky. The lights came together in a triangle shape, they said, before dropping and hovering over the highway.

“They claim that they had missing time, and the next morning bruising, bleeding noses,” he said. “And they’ve been very sick since.”

What is really interesting about the Kelowna case, Vike said, is that it is one of many strange reports that followed the terrible number of forest fires in the Okanogan that year.

Despite slowing down a bit, and shutting down a larger website that was getting some 2.5 million hits a month, Vike is still in high demand for his UFO expertise. For years, he has fielded calls from the likes of CBC and BBC radio, the Discovery Channel and others.

“I just spent more time on this than anything else,” he said. “I think that’s why it kept moving along.”

Fifty years ago, Vike said he was just like the boy across the street, armed with a 50 mm Sears telescope from his parents and a boundless curiosity.

“Yep—I always look in the sky,” he said. “You never know what you’re going to see.”

8 UFO Sightings In Cork

Cork people may have experienced close encounters of the third kind this week, with eight reported sightings of UFOs in skies above the city.

While there are no reports of aliens in the attic, body snatchers or extra terrestrials that come in peace, witnesses reported seeing yellow and orange lights in the Cork skies from New Year’s Eve to Sunday 2 January.

Canadian UFO explorer, Brian Vike, told the Cork Independent that he has received a number of reports from Cork. One report said, “The light is yellowish and moves steadily. It’s not a plane, as the light is slow flashing and it’s much larger that the lights on planes. The light then stops and moves away. When the light moves away it can still be seen fading away in the distance.”

A second report of a sighting after midnight on New Years Day said “…saw some really strange lights over my house tonight. Went out the back to take a call and saw a red light in the distance (my back garden faces towards east Cork). I see a lot of planes, this was no plane, it was a rich red which changed to orange, was moving under the clouds and passed over my house.”

The witness continued, “I called my girlfriend, obviously wouldn't have called her for a plane. The shape was oval almost egg like changing from orange to red went into the clouds and appeared again. I'm just a normal guy but this was something definitely out of the ordinary.”

Causes

Clair McSweeney of Cork’s Blackrock Castle Observatory (BCO) said she had received eight reports this week also. “We have had a number of mails in this regard and it is an interesting question and quite a tricky one to explain. The experts here at BCO Labs have narrowed the sightings down to a number of possibilities,” she said.

They did not rule out the possibility of spacecrafts, but said the sightings could have been due to Chinese lanterns, flares, international military aircrafts, weather balloons or meteors. She also said the recent activity in the sky could have resulted in some upper atmospheric reflections.

This time last year there were also a number of similar sightings, with multiple UFOs seen over Cork and disc and triangle shaped items seen above the city skies and surrounding fields.

A witness told one UFO sighting website, “My husband was looking at the moon through a telescope on the patio, (it was the blue moon and we had observed the partial eclipse earlier in the evening). I was in the house when he called me. His eye had been caught by a large orange/red disc in the sky. It was moving from North to South over our house. I didn’t arrive quickly enough but then another object, identical to the first, appeared. I saw the orange/red disc like object travelling silently across the sky towards the south,” the witness recalled.

“Initially we thought it was a meteor about to break through the atmosphere but it was much too large and the height was difficult to determine as it was a very clear night.

“The second object when I saw it was about a quarter the size of the full moon and became redder in colour as it moved. It continued southward, to the west of Cork Airport, over the sea until it faded from sight. It did not burn out, as a meteor might. It did not appear to drop in altitude as a falling object would. It had no navigation lights but moved at sort of helicopter speed (faster than a satellite would and much larger anyway.) Our 2 younger children 15 and 10 also saw this object.

Meteor Green Outside With Burning Orange Center Over Mechanicsville Maryland

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  February 9, 2011

Time:  9:30 p.m.

I saw one around Mechanicsville Maryland around the same time 9:30.  Green on the outside burning orange in the center with a tail looked like it was travelling SW.

Lasted about 2 to three seconds then dropped behind the trees. Thought it was a roman candle at first but had no arc and tail was towards the sky. My son and I both saw it.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Cluster Of Lights In The Field And Feeling Disoriented At Kasouga Eastern Cape South Africa

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  December 9, 2009

Time:  Approxamtlty 9:00 p.m.

Hi there, my name is (name removed) and I live in the Eastern Cape in South Africa. I am not sure what happened, but the more I have thought about it, the more I am inclined to think that it must have been some sort of ET experience.

On Friday night 9th December 2009, it must have been about 9:00pm, I was driving home along the coastal road from Port Alfred to Kasouga. The whole area is farm land and very deserted at night. Just before the turn off to my home in Kasouga, I saw a cluster of lights in the field.

It immediately caught my attention because there is nothing there except farm land and herds of cows from time to time. I did look again just before I turned off the main road and couldn't see anything.  I didn't stop, and carried on my journey, turning off onto the sand road that leads to where I lived.

I have been travelling that road since I was a child, but I truly felt like I didn't know where I was, it was very bright and still, almost surreal. I felt very disoriented.

I stopped the car to make sure that I was on the right road, telling myself all the time that I couldn't be lost as I know the road and have been travelling the road for years, yet it still felt that it was wrong.

I kept going and as I came to a bend in the road, I saw the same cluster of lights some way off the road where there shouldn't be any lights, it is still farm land.

There were no other witnesses to this.

It has been in my thoughts ever since. Does that sound familiar to you? I would love to receive your comments on this. Thank you, Kind regards.

Thank you to the witness for the report.
