UFO Sightings Down In Northwest

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Newspaper Article.

By Rikki Schierer.

Houston Today Newspaper.

UFO activity has been fairly slow in the Bulkley Valley recently, ufologist Brian Vike said, however UFO reports elsewhere have picked up, especially in the United Kingdom.

The region from Vanderhoof to Prince Rupert was once known as the UFO capital for Canada, Vike said, due to a sharp increase in activity from 2002-2003.

Yellow  orange glows are usually a good indication of a UFO, Vike said, which have been highly reported in the U.K. After posting one such report to his blog, Vike shut his computer off for the night and in the morning he had 170 reports of the same thing.

“Pretty soon you could figure that one out as being those Chinese lanterns that people let go for New Year’s… but you still got a lot of people who will swear it was a UFO”, Vike said. “I must have had about 600 reports of these orange lights in the U.K., and then it started in Eastern Ontario.”

He’s fairly certain these light have been these Chinese lanterns, Vike said. A lot of the reports he receives are like that, leaving you to sort fact from fiction, but it’s those instances where there’s no explanation that he’s really keen for.

Vike said that he’s been interested in UFO’s since he was a kid. From there, it just sort of grew, until he started the UFO sightings website HBCC UFO Research in 2000.

“It was supposed to be a little hobby… because I enjoyed the topic a lot,” Vike said.

“So they’d send me a report … and eventually over time it just got bigger and bigger.”

His bigger cases were of Crop Circles in 2001 in Vanderhoof, he said, and there was some cattle mutilation elsewhere in B.C., where he worked with local RCMP to help sort that out.

“There was a lot of weird stuff going on,” Vike said.

He’s since sold the website earlier to someone in the States. Featured on radio shows, a T.V. documentary, an extended segment on UFO’s on Creepy Canada, as well as taking in thousands of reports of UFO’s world-wide, it just got to be too much, Vike said, so with regret he sold his domain name in 2009.

“It just got to be too much, there was just so much to do,” Vike said. “It was growing and just never stopped”

He was looking to retire from the business, but when a good friend of his asked him to partner up and bring back the Sightings.com domain name, he was all too happy to agree, he said. Now he and Jeff Rense run the domain, and now it’s just “insane, with the number of reports,” Vie said, but the workload is more manageable because Rense has a full-time webmaster to look after the site. Vike’s and job is to receive the reports, post to a blog, and speak to the people who do submit reports.

“I try to get more information on what day they saw it and try to figure out what it was they saw,” Vike said.

Sightings.com actually began in 1992 as a television program, built around a strong paranormal theme. From there, Rense created an award winning radio program in 1994, covering the UFO and paranormal field. By 1996, Rense had been signed to a five-year exclusive contract with Premiere Radio Networks. It was during this time that Sightings.com was developed, to expand the radio program into the internet, one of the first radio shows to pioneer into the internet active use of the internet in connection to a radio show.

In 1999, he shifted focus a bit, and instead of putting his efforts into Sightings.com worked on developing Rense.com, however now, 11 years later, he has teamed up with Vike to bring back Sightings.com, which he’d always retained.

“There’s a lot of stuff coming in, it’s incredible,” Vike said.

With Sightings.com, the reports are coming in steadily, Vike reports, who had 150 reports come in, in a two week time frame. Reports come in from all over the world, he said.

Types of sightings being reported include lights in the sky to fly triangles, cylinders, or spheres. Witnesses have also recorded a blimp-like object. There does seem to be more triangles reported nowadays than the once-popular disc-shaped UFO.

“There have been so many that I just haven’t a clue what they are,” Vike said.

4 Orange Glowing Lights West In Coral Springs (Northwest Broward County) Florida

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  December 24, 2010

Time:  Evening.

My first sighting of this sort in my life. I was driving west in Coral Springs (Northwest Broward County) we saw 4 orange glow lights about the size of a very large star.  They moved in various directions.

Two seemed to move toward each other and all of them in right angles only.  When we got out of the car only one object was remained and it began to disappear behind the clouds.

Now I read that many other sighting like this have been occurring in the world this year.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Cigar Shaped UFO Over Caledon Ontario Northwest Sky

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  July 25, 2011

Time:  4:30 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 1

Number of Objects: 1

Shape of Objects: Cigar shaped.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I noticed something in the corner of my eye as I was watching the cloud formation. I went in and grabbed my camera and started taking pictures. I'm sending the pictures to your email address.

The cloud ended up covering the object. I saw a grey object that had the exact same shape just south of here around 9 year's ago, but never blue.

I figure it was trying to make itself the same color as the sky, close though!

I'm sure now that there back in the area, I'll be out with the camera tonight.

Brian Vike's Note: I will see if I can get the photos to add to the report, I am sure I received them, but being down for a few months things got lost.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Sasquatch Maybe In The Area 80 Miles Northwest Of Prince Albert Saskatchewan

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  August 16, 2012

Time:  12:30 p.m.

Hi Brian, I have been listening to you on Rense for many years and am always interested in the reports here in Canada.

I don’t want you to give out my name, but would like to tell you about something that is ongoing.

We have a place 80 miles North West of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. There are trails that I groom for a small resort.

On Thursday August 16, 2012 I was mowing one of the trails that is about 3 kilometers in the bush away from the resort, there are not many people around here and a great deal of government land for many kilometers.

On the one section of trail I kept hearing noises above the sound of the lawn mower, at the same time got the feeling that I was being watched.

I stopped several times to look around thinking that there might be a deer, moose or more importantly a bear around, but I never saw anything and kept mowing.

I came across several young trees about an inch to a inch and a half thick that had been broken between 6 and 7 foot level. Initially I thought it was a moose or elk passing by, but later changed my mind.

I had been mowing for several hours, it was 12:30 p.m. so I parked the mower on the trail and walked back to my cabin for lunch, about 50 minutes later I came back.

Where I had parked my mower there was a young tree freshly snapped at the 7 foot height.

I know this was not broken before because I was working on that trail and the way the tree was broken, it came across the trail making it necessary to duck in order to pass.

This was within 3 feet of my mower at that point. I started looking carefully for more broken trees, I saw several, some fresh and some a day or more old, it was only in that area though, along that section of trail.

At that point I still was not sure what was doing this, I know no human was on the path during that time, and after experimenting with some other trees came to the conclusion that it wasn’t an Elk or Moose. I could take a similar size tree and bend it to the ground and the tree would spring back up with no harm done.

I checked the trees for antler scrapes or claw marks, but found none. At this point I started thinking the only way to break a tree in this fashion would require something resembling a hand in order to brace the tree and another hand to pull it down and snap it.

That evening I put up a trail cam, but only caught a small doe and her fawn. I intend to do more, but was leaving the next day and won’t be back for a couple of weeks.

After going on the internet and seeing what signs there were where Sasquatch were suspected, I recall a couple more things that at the time I ignored. With the broken trees and sounds, I also smelt an odor that at the time I put off to a skunk, it was a little different smell but close enough.

I even remarked that the smell had moved from where I had smelt it in the morning when I took my son on the trails in the evening. Also I had come across an area where several branches had been piled against a tree in a crude shelter.

I had put it off to kids playing and that still could be the case. In the past my dog would at times freeze and not continue any further, the thought that maybe a Lynx, Wolf or Coyote was nearby and she was scared and we usually headed back to the cabin.

We hear Coyotes and Wolves most nights, sometimes very close. On the trail that evening she froze and didn’t want to continue, with a little coaxing she continued, but stayed by my side and didn’t go on ahead like she normally does.

When I get back I will be putting the trail cam back up and taking some pictures.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Faint Red/White Glowing Oval Seen In The Sky Northwest Of Dickensfield Alberta

Date:  October 16, 2012
Time:  Evening.

Hey, I was just surfing the net looking for some information as to what exactly me and my friend saw in the sky tonight, and the description of what that guy seen with his friend is pretty exact to what we saw.

After work me and a friend were having a smoke in his backyard and I looked up and noticed that the sky was kind of reddish.

Then my friend yelled, "look at that", and pointed to the sky just northeast of Dickensfield area and the best way I could describe it was a faint reddish white oval shaped glowing that had a red aura going straight down to the ground.

All around the surrounding area it was pulsing red to the sky lighting it up. It lasted for about 5-7 minutes. My camera couldn't capture anything

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Also, please feel free to send in your sightings that have happened years ago. So many of these older sightings are nothing short of amazing.

Bright Light Hovers Northwest Of London Ontario

Date: December 26, 2010
Time: Approx: 11:00 p.m.

I was reading your website this morning after Googling information about a UFO over London Ontario. I was directed to your site and when my daughter and I read your site we noticed there was alot similarities in what we saw and what you saw.

Last night (December 26, 2010) at about 11:00pm EST I noticed a very bright light to to the northwest of the city. I wasn't sure what I was looking at, but I know it was something I had never seen before. I thought maybe it was some type of star, so I called my daughter to come and take a look..

We quickly decided that it was not a start and definitely not a plane that we were looking at. It was stationary for the longest time and then slowly started to move. It started to speed up and move sideways and then stopped and then started again! It moved fairly slow after that and we watched it disappear in the night sky!

It also had a blue type of light and a red light, and they were not airplane type lights either!

Like I said I am not sure if what we saw was anything, but it was definitely odd and strange and nothing that either one of us have ever seen anywhere before! We were quite awe struck and are very curious now this morning

Thanks I hope that this little bit of info helps. Sincerely.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Northwest London, Ontario Red Lights Making A Equilateral Triangle

Posted: April 19, 2009

Date: April 16, 2009
Time: 11:12 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Northwest London, Ontario.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 1 or 3 in formation.
Shape of Objects: Equilateral triangle.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Looked out over house from backyard and noticed 3 diffuse red lights in the south in the form of a triangle. I followed it's movement from about 30 degrees from horizon in south, to about 45 degrees in the north. It was about 15 degrees to the west of where I was standing. I lost sight of it, as it was obscured by a cedar tree in my backyard. It took between 12 to 15 seconds to travel that distance and the triangle had no visible structure to it. The diffuse red patches were about the size of your pinky finger pad held at arms length and had the intensity of a led bulb wrapped in a 1/2 inch ball of wet paper towel. The sides of triangle were approximately 3 to 4 degrees of sky, say tip of first finger to 2 nd knuckle. No sound at all and the sky conditions were very clear and no haze at all, no clouds at all. If I was to guess at the altitude, I would say between 5 and 7 thousand feet, but as I have no idea how big or small it was, that's my best guess. I am an amateur astronomer so my guesses should be pretty good. I had my 5 inch mak/cass out at the time viewing Saturn and there was no dew on the optics. After being out for 2 hours, so I don't think it could have been a laser pointer or 3 illuminating the underside of cloud/mist/fog.

Thank you to the witness for their sighting report.

Northwest London, Ontario A Dark Colored UFO

Posted: January 8, 2009

Date: June 11, 2008
Time: 7:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Northwest London Ontario.
Number of witnesses: 6
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Ellipsoid.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was standing on the back deck of my house with my parents and roommates at around 7pm on 11 June 2008. Looking north, we were able to see a single object in the sky. It was dark in colour (it was still light outside) and appeared to be off in the distance. It was moving rather rapidly in an odd manner (loops, circles, lines, abrupt changes of direction, etc.), like no bird or airplane I have ever seen. Due to the distance at which we observed it, I find it unlikely that it was a kite or model airplane. I ran inside to grab binoculars or a camera to obtain a closer look or film the object, however I could locate neither and by the time I went back outside the object had disappeared. Naturally I consider it to be a UFO as I have not been able to identify it based on any common aerial object I can think of, whether it was of extraterrestrial origin or not is a whole other matter. I am interested to know if anyone else in the London, Ontario area witnessed something similar on or around the date of 11 June 2008.

Thank you to the witness for their sighting report.
