HBCC UFO Research Note: Numerous sighting reports have come in for August 28, 2006. People have reported seeing three orange lights in the sky. I did some phoning around and found information that what folks were viewing were Thai Lanterns. Seems this has been happening alot since March of 2006 as I have received myself a large number of reports. The people responsible for letting the Thai Lanterns loose did come forward and a number of the media have ran articles in newspapers and on TV, actually showing how this was done.
Date: August 28, 2006 Time: Approx: 8:40 p.m.
Message: It was Monday night August 28th, 2006 and the phone rang around 8:40 p.m. at home, only to have my In-laws telling my husband there were three strange objects flying outside over the house. Sure enough the whole family went out to see three orange bright objects moving around. First in a triangle then in a line then one slowly dropped down and dimmed it's light only to join the other two again with a bright orange light. It was a real show. We are located close to highway 148 in Aylmer, Quebec.
We finally decided to take a picture. Not sure if this will turn out but it would be proof that there were really three foreign objects flying outside my door.
Thank you to the witness for their report.

Mount Currie, B.C. Strange Light Drops Down Over The Mountain
Posted: January 19, 2008
Date: August 2006 (?) Time: Approx: 1:00 a.m.
Hi, I've written you before regarding sightings in Vancouver, BC. I've moved up into the mountains, my home town of Mount Currie, BC - 3 hours from Vancouver. I've been avidly watching the sky as I did in Vancouver, and have seen the usual satellites, and such. The other night at around 1:00am, my sister and I were walking toward Mount Currie mountain which is southwest of where my house is, we were leaving the house and got to the road when we spotted a large light moving downward. At first, we thought it was a police helicopter as it was flashing from blue to red to white. But we stood and watched it for about 10 minutes, it appeared to be almost landing on the top of the mountain, but then it just stopped and hovered for about 2 minutes before descending again.
We got the eeriest feeling in those 2 minutes, it was almost as if we could feel ourselves being watched. Then it continued down slowly until the light went out. Either it landed or went behind the mountain. Have you had any other reports of this? We were headed to a wedding dance, and apparently none of the other people outside saw it because of the street lights above the gym. There is alot of activity out this way and I've heard several accounts from community members that there have been abductions and starchild miscarriages. I've been taken a couple of times since I moved home, last summer. But now it just seems routine, they just move the locator around. Which is a little ball like bony thing, that I've felt around my body at different times - it's currently in the back of my neck, has moved just recently from the back of my left thigh. So, I'll keep my eye on the sky, and keep you posted. Thanks!
Thank you to the witness for the report.

Crowsnest Pass, Alberta A Very Bright Yellowish/White Object
Posted: January 19, 2008
Date: August 29, 2006 Time: 12:00 - 12:10 a.m.
Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Round
Full Description of event/sighting: I went outside to see if the sky was clear enough to do some star gazing and looked up over to the West and there was a really bright object moving at about the speed of a commercial jet.
The object was yellowish white in color, about the size of a single, bigger then any other star out and looked as if it was a headlight shining directly at me. It faded out over a period of about 8 seconds and was no longer in sight.
Another occasion was very similar. It was last year, me and a few family member where sitting at the fire pit and this bright blue object similar in appearance to the one recently just appeared and then seemed like it was shinning directly at us for a only about 10 seconds. Then it looked as if it was getting further away until it disappeared.
Thank you to the witness for the report.

Houston, British Columbia Craft Completely Lit Up
Posted: January 19, 2008
Date: August 22, 2006 Time: Approx: 10:20
I spoke to a man in the Houston Shopping Center who reported to me that he and his wife watched an object move slowly and on a direct flight path across most of the night sky. After traveling approximately 3/4 the way across the sky the object made a sharp turn which the witness believed was straight up and finally disappeared. He said the entire craft was all lit up. The object was at a good distance away and he was not able to observe any detail other than it making a strange turn and being fully lit.
Thank you to the witness for the report.

Springbank Airport, Calgary Alberta - Pilot Sighting
Posted: January 19, 2008
Date: August 26, 2006 Time: 9:05 p.m.
Description: As I taxied my aircraft a Cessna 172 to the hold line of runway 25 at the Springbank airport, I was cleared for take-off to remain in the circuit (a traffic pattern resembling a race track around an active runway for the purposes of training, and maneuvering aircraft in and out of an airport). I observed my intended flight path to note an object that originally resembled an Airship, which from my perspective would have been over or very near the town of Cochrane. The object was "egg" shaped, and appeared to be dark grey or black in colour, however most of this was as a result of being against the background of the sunset. I inquired with the Tower Controller if there was indeed an aircraft working over Cochrane, or in that direction to which I was advised "no".
I then observed the object appear to change to a circular shape, and rapidly back to it's original "egg" shape. I reported this to the Tower Controller and remained in my position at the end of Runway 25.
At this time I observed the object move easterly and stop in a very defined motion with no sign of acceleration or deceleration. The object again altered shape, and moved upwards slowly but again with very defined motion. My report continued to Air Traffic Control and it was advised to me that there was nothing on Radar. Another Cessna 172 aircraft transiting the Control Zone advised that the same object (or one of similar description) was observed over the Control Tower approximately 5-10 minutes prior with "No Lights, No Sound".
My Commercial Flight Instructor was in a Piper Arrow behind my aircraft in cue for take-off and observed this object and copied all of our radio transmissions. I was still cleared for Take-off into the circuit, and advised that once at circuit altitude (1000 feet above ground level) I would give further information. At this time the object moved west, stopped, and continued east bound, when it disappeared. No further visual contact was made with the object that I saw, to the best of my knowledge.

Lake Huron, Ontario Flashing Star-Like Object
Posted: January 19, 2008
Date: August 31, 2006 Time: When the sun went down (unknown time) to 11:35. It's still there.
Number of witnesses: 3 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Couldn't tell, it's the size of a star.
Full Description of event/sighting: I work at a restaurant, and as I was taking the garbage out (It was dark) I looked towards the beach sky. There was a single star, but it flashed green, blue, whiteish yellow, and red very quickly. The colors mixed as they flashed, like it was multiple lights going off at the same time.
I was picked up by my dad, and after I told him about it, he looked and said: "That's really weird, Never seen anything like that, could be a UFO. Look it up on the internet, to see any reports like that."
I did, and found this sight. Before I typed this (It's still present as I type this, I went on MSN and told several friends. They all looked and described what I saw as well.
Thank you to the witness for the report.

Caledon, Ontario Object Stops - Moved Slowly Up And Down
Posted: January 19, 2008
Date: August 31, 2006 Time: Between 11:00pm -11:45pm
Hi Brian, Late night I went out to my deck for a smoke and I noticed something quickly moving down in the NE sky, at first I thought it was a plane, but when it stopped and then started to moved slowly up and down, back and forth I new what it wasn't. I watched it for about 45 min. as it flashed in the far sky.I did take pictures but it was to far away to really make anything of it, although with all the stars that were out I only managed to get it on film. The location would have been North of Toronto and from where I live in Caledon, it was NE. I hope someone else saw it! Take Care Brian.
I saw this last night Aug 31st between 11:00pm @ 11:45pm, I watched for about 45 min. Plus I also noticed when I was taking pictures that the awed time it appeared to flash a little brighter I'll send you two photo's see if you can make anything of them. Thanks again.

Above Kootenay Lake Moving Towards Nelson, B.C. Object Made U Turn
Posted: January 19, 2008

Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Ball
Full Description of event/sighting: I went to buy some snacks from the Taghum store just down the road and noticed a few bright stars and on my way back from the store I looked at one of the stars which appeared to be hovering about 3 km above the lake. I saw that it began to move and made a giant u turn across the sky and slowly floated towards Nelson. I ran home in excitement and told my dad to come watch it float towards the town. We both noticed it began to blink orange and green we watched as it slowly drifted across the sky. The part that amazes me is it wasn't moving and while watching it, it suddenly decided to move forward and come back like a u turn and just kept drifting with flashing orange and green lights weird.

Number of witnesses: 1 Shape of objects: Oval
Full Description of event/sighting: I was biking home one night at about 11:00 and about 2 km from my house. I was looking over at the mountains across Kootenay Lake and noticed an oval shaped object that glowed a pinkish purple color. I stopped biking and watched, it wasn't moving and all of a sudden it went down, up, down, up and really fast. Then slowly it went down, I was exited but didn't think to much of it because I had been biking for about 45 minutes. I'm just a 15 year old kid who is interested in UFOs and that kind of stuff and I am always looking up at the sky on random nights and random times to see all kinds of strange lights and stuff.

Caledon, Ontario Numerous Photos Taken Of A UFO Sighting
Posted: January 19, 2008
Date: August 2, 2006 Time: Between 7:40pm - 9:45pm
Message: August 2, 2006 my wife and I went for a drive. We were going up to the badlands in Caledon to take pictures of the moon. We arrived at about 7:40pm. It was still light but the moon was very bright. So we picked a clear view and set up the tripod. I started to take pictures and I got some very good shots. We stayed until 9:45pm and when we were leaving to go back to the van, in which my wife went first. All of a sudden all kinds of commotion in the trees and bushes. It was dark and I could not see. Then I got really spooked, and I don't spook easily. I went to the van, threw the camera and tripod at my wife. Closed the windows locked the doors and got out of dodge. I had to stop at shoppers drug, while my wife was in the store I downloaded the pictures to a AVR. I was scanning through and low and behold I had captured a UFO. I said that must be why I got spooked, it was probably them. I said can't wait to see these on the 53" TV. I scanned through 14 pictures of the UFO. One just starting to break the atmosphere, two fully engulfed in the atmosphere. Three cooling down. Four it's sitting still, five it's leaving going back to space. So I seem to have proof that we are being visited by crafts from space and aliens. I have not sent any pictures because it's big. A note to Brian I'm glad someone else saw it.
Thank you to the witness for the report.

Invermere, British Columbia I Heard And Felt An Underground Explosion
Posted: January 19, 2008
Date: August 4, 2006 Time: Late evening
Interesting , I have not seen anything in the sky, but late in the evening of August 4th I heard and felt an underground explosion. It seemed to be fairly localized to my neighborhood. It freaked me out, but nothing came of it. No alarms, no fire, no smoke. To me, it felt and sounded like it was deep in the ground. It had a very muffled sound to it.
Just a thought. What if a UFO did crash and their buddies are looking for them ?
Thank you to the person for the information on what he felt and heard. Maybe there was a connection to all the sightings from Invermere and Castlegar B.C.

Fort McMurray, Alberta Bright Light Witnessed At Dawn
Posted: January 19, 2008
Date: August 2006 Time: Dawn
Message: In mid to late August 2006, just as the sun was beginning to rise I viewed from my second story window facing south what appeared to be a large low hanging white star in the morning light. Like one description I read from Alberta recently. It was like a giant headlight shining towards us, it was weird because it was fairly light and there were no other stars in the sky. It did not appear to be moving, just hovering in one spot. My girlfriend and sister were awake and in the room with me. I told them to check it out, I told them holy smokes, check out the UFO. They looked but were not impressed ( close minded ladies). I watched it for a minute or so, and stopped watching it to do something or other. When I looked back it was gone. Ten minutes later it was back in the same spot, then disappeared quickly. I star gaze and watch for UFOs frequently and I'm sure this was no star. Like I said this was really bright, it was fairly light outside and it was low ( maybe a 1000 feet above the hill top. I'm reporting this now because of the similarity to the bright headlight in Edmonton by the guy in the hot tub, because it's in the same time frame and similar in description. This sighting was in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. This was not what I expected a UFO to look like. There were no colors.
Thank you to the witness for their report.

North Delta, B. C. Object With Possible Antenna Dangling Below It
Posted: January 18, 2008
Date: July 1, 2006 Time: 5:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.
Single light, cigar shaped space craft. Hovering for a couple hours first noticed at 5 pm on July 1, 2006. At 7:30 pm there appeared to be two or three objects in the sky, moving in swift movements, but not really go to far. The object is silver in color and one observer thought there may be an antenna dangling below it.
Acceleration seems to be the opposite of any traditional aircraft, the objects seem to be moving slowly at first and then accelerating faster as it starts to move! Incredible! Hovering in the sky for a bit, then moving in an "S" type of pattern straight up. First appeared in the eastern sky, then moved more to the south.
Our house is in the flight path for YVR, we know what planes look like. We had planes to compare it to during the sighting! This was NOT a plane!
Thank you to the witness for the report.

Houston, British Columbia Bright Light Disappears
Posted: January 18, 2008
Date: July 1, 2006 Time: 11:15 p.m.
HBCC UFO: I talked with a friend this morning and he reported to me that he saw an unusual bright light traveling south to the north on July 1, 2006 at 11:15 p.m. He mentioned that the light moved along at a slow pace and was extremely bright, also moving away from his location. It appeared to be fairly high up in altitude. It was visible for approximately 5 to 6 seconds at the most. I happened to be outside talking to my wife at the time of his sighting, as it has been very hot here in the home and it was much cooler outside. I stood looking in the sky towards the west and saw the exact same thing my friend saw, which was an extremely bright light. It looked as if someone had turned off a light switch, in other words the bright object flew slowly across the sky away from my location and just vanished. Nothing was seen after the light went out.
Thank you to the witness for the report. Also audio clip done for this sighting

White Rock, British Columbia Three Witnesses To Sighting
Posted: January 18, 2008
Date: July 3, 2006 Time: 1:30 am - 4:00 am
Location of Sighting: NE of White Rock and West of White Rock Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 3? Shape of objects: Perhaps oval, roundish.
Full Description of event/sighting: Interestingly on the day of July 2 I reported a sighting from May 10. That night, into July 3, I had another sighting.
I went out onto my balcony at about 1:20 am on July 3rd to feel the cool air. I immediately noticed a very bright 'star', that I couldn't accept was a star. It was very bright and appeared to have a red light as well. The object was not moving.
I went into my apartment to get my binoculars. It is difficult for me to judge how far off in the distance this object was, however, through the binoculars, it was clear that it was not a star. It did shine a white light, as well as a red one that seemed to either pulsate on and off or move around the object. There seemed also to be other colours of lights but can't be sure what they were. I watched it for about 1/2 hour and then it began to slowly move toward the north-east, Langley area.
It would move a little bit then stop, a few times it looked like it would move back and forth slightly. (although if I was closer, I am sure it would not have seemed slightly). When it was in motion going NE, it was also ascending to a higher point in the sky.
As I was intent on staying outside as long as I could, I would periodically look at other areas of the sky. I saw 2 shooting stars toward my left which drew my attention to another area. Towards the west of my building, over Richmond area perhaps, there was another object that looked like it had similar lighting!
When I looked through the binoculars at this second object, again, a white light, a pulsating or rotating reddish light and perhaps orange and greenish? This second object was stationary for a while then began to move north west but did not ascend, it stayed at the same horizon level. It would move a bit, then stop, them move again. It did this slowly.
OK back to the first light. As this light was moved north east and ascending, I noticed another light, much smaller, would have thought it was a star, that was moving in synch with the first one. It could have been a smaller object or was farther away and appeared smaller, I guess. It always remained in the same relative position to the first object. In other words, you could always say the lower light was x # of degrees to the lower left of the first. And yes, through my binoculars, I saw similar lights on this smaller object/light, and the same reddish light, although this one was much harder to see.
Well, I stayed up as late as I could, until 4 am. I am very glad I stepped out onto the balcony for some fresh cool air.
Did anybody else see this?
Thank you to the witness for the report.

Oakbank, Manitoba Another Witness To The Bright Green Meteor
Posted: January 18, 2008
Date: June 2, 2006 Time: Approx: 11:30 p.m.
I also saw this meteor. We were driving home around 11:30 PM and we saw this bright green streak go across the sky going from East to West. It was quite low and I could not believe the brightness and the trail of sparks it was leaving behind. It went so fast that if you were not looking in that direction you would have missed it totally. There were 3 of us in the car and we all saw it. I heard on the radio that they wanted people to call in if they saw it but I did not catch where I was to call into so this is why I am writing to you. We were on highway 59 going south near the intersection of 213 and highway 59. It is very hard to judge how far away it was from us but it could not have been more than 50 miles from us. Please feel free to contact me if you need to do so. I hope this helps you in any way.

Burke Mountain Coquitlam, British Columbia A Small White Strobe
Posted: January 18, 2008
Date: July 2, 2006 Time: 10:45 p.m.
I saw small white strobe in sky over towards Burke Mountain in Coquitlam. Checked with binoculars, could see another small red strobe along with the white. Appeared to be a small plane. As I was watching the plane I noticed a small white satellite come into my field of view, direction of travel. SSE approximately. 1 second later. What appeared to be that same large yellowish just seemed to materialize. It appeared to be much higher than the plane but below the satellite and bigger than both of them put together. The yellowish light just seemed to sit there as the plane and satellite continued on there ways. After about 5 seconds it proceeded to move in a northerly direction. Once again it blinked off but I could still see the faint whitish shape as it continued heading north.
Thank you to the witness for the report.

North Surrey, British Columbia 3 Oval Shaped Objects
Posted: January 18, 2008
Date: July 2, 2006 Time: 4:30 p.m.
I was sitting here at my desk looking out my 17th. fl. window. I could hear what sounded like a small plane approaching from the north. Skies were absolutely clear and blue, I scanned back and forth across the sky but although I could plainly hear the engine sound could see nothing. After about 10 seconds 3 oval shaped objects appeared at about an 85 degree angle overhead. Objects were spaced in the shape of an equilateral triangle and were extremely shiny like polished mirrors and I got the impression they were shaped some what like drop tanks from a plane.
Above the pods I could see what appeared to be Aluminum tubes possibly in the shape of a Y connecting the pods. The pods were so bright I could hardly make out the tubes as they just seemed to blend into the sky. I only saw it for about 2 or 3 seconds before it passed over my apartment. I could still hear the sound like a small plane engine but no engines were visible. the object appeared to be about 2 to 3 thousand feet and approximately. the size of the small plane it appeared to be imitating. I waited for a while hoping it would come back so I could get a better and longer look but no such luck.
Thank you to the witness for the report.

Vancouver, British Columbia Gun Metal Grey Metallic Cylinder
Posted: January 18, 2008
HBCC UFO Research Note: After reading this sighting report below, and you happen to live in the Vancouver/North Vancouver, B.C. area and may have witnessed this unusual object. Would you please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at HBCC UFO Research. Thank you.
Date: July 5, 2006 Time: 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Gun metal grey metallic cylinder.
Full Description of event/sighting: I went on a smoke break on the rear alley entrance balcony, and my attention was immediately drawn to this "metal rod" floating in a very ominous manner, like a feather, or balloon blowing in the wind. I could only comprehend this thing as a balloon of some sort, until I noticed that it was very smooth and dark grey in color, and reflected the sunlight. I called for my employer to come witness this bizarre "floating rod". He watched it silently for about 2 minutes, and to my surprise, he was very startled. He then make a silly UFO joke and went back inside.
This object seemed to be over the down town area as I was looking west. I watched it for about 3 minutes as it travelled northwest, over North Vancouver. I found it quite freaky because it seemed quite fast for a balloon in the shape of a "metal rod" to move in that manner. It seemed to slow down, spiral upwards then it slowly turned and banked, in a very peculiar fashion. I got a very good long look at it, and seen no sign of any creases, letters or numbers, or anything at all on the exterior of this "metal rod". It was simply, a shiny, metal looking cylinder, the shape of a cigarette, and it was very stiff and rigid. The more I thought about it, I began to change my mind about it being a helium or gas filled device, because if it was a balloon, the strong winds at that height probably would have caused the cylinder to warp in shape, or noticeable strains in the exterior fabric. If this was a fabricated floating device, it was very well engineered.
I imagine that I would have seen the interior frame pressing against the fabric, but it was completely smooth. I would be relieved to find out if others had seen this "metal rod" that floated over the city yesterday afternoon.
Please reply if you witnessed this "metal rod" or if have any photos or ideas of what this object is.
Thank you to the witness for the report.
