Full Description of Event/Sighting: Hello, my name is (name removed) and my wife, neighbour, and I saw a UFO at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Thursday March 1, 2012 in the Salmon Arm British Columbia area.
Although the object was a considerable distance away, it was still interesting to see, as well it may help add credibility any one else who may have seen the object.
There are two planets in our night sky, I don't know which planets, but they are planets, which are located about 30 and 40 degrees above the horizon in the western sky.
About 10 degrees above the horizon, almost due west from us was a bright light that was at least as bright as the afore-mentioned planets.
We watched for almost a minute when it slowly got dimmer and changed from a bright white to a faint blue pin point, looking like a faint star. At this point I was feeling disappointed that it was disappearing already.
Happily, it began to brighten up again, becoming a white light again. We went to my neighbours house, to watch it through his binoculars. By the time we walked to his deck the light was as bright as we originally saw it.
My neighbour looked through the binoculars and saw "four square lights side by side".
When it was my turn, I saw several square lights stuck together, but it was very difficult to hold the binoculars steady. I rested my elbows on his BBQ to steady my view and looked again.
The light appeared to only have one light, then became smaller, quickly went to a blue point and disappeared.
From the time I looked in the binoculars for the second time, it disappeared in less than two seconds. At that point my neighbour shouted "did you see that!?"
This is the third time my wife has seen this light in the same part of the sky in the last two or three months, but the first time for me.
I enjoy looking at the stars, and quite familiar with what satellites and planes look like because I've seen both often, and this was nothing like those.
I am writing to you in hopes that someone got a closer view and our sighting would help them out in proving that they did see something.
Thanks for your time.
