Time: Approx: 5:30 p.m.This evening, around 5:30 pm, I noticed a bright object in the western sky. It seemed to be stationary. The sun had gone down, but it was still light out. It was luminous, did not appear to be lit by the setting sun as the intensity of it's brilliance was shifting. It was also hard to tell what shape it was due to this shifting intensity, but I think it was spherical.
It's hard to say how big it was, or how far away, but from my vantage point in the Britannia area of Ottawa, it appeared to be in the Carp region. After about a minute and a half to two minutes a second orb seemed to come out of it and seemed to hover stationary to the north of the first one.
It was maybe 1/5 of the size of the first. Then a third one appeared much smaller than the other two, it appeared to the south and a little higher. I wanted to film this, but my camera batteries were dead. I stood and watched them for another 3-4 minutes then they all seemed to disappear.
It was definitely not planes, or satellites, they were not stars. There must have been numerous people saw this as it lasted 41/2 to 5 minutes. It was definitely amazing. I have been checking the local news and local blogs to see if I could find out if anybody else saw this, but I can't find a thing. Could you let me know if anyone else reports this so I don't think I'm going crazy?
Many thanks.
