Bright Red Lights Over Little Current Manitoulin Island Ontario (Pictures)

Date:  December 29, 2012
Time:  7:00 p.m.

Vike Factor Note: I used the contrast to lighten up the photos which makes it easier to see the red lights.

Hi Brian, I just checked out your website because of something I saw in the sky on Sat. December 29, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

I live in the town of Little Current, on Manitoulin Island, ON.

I was going for a walk and as soon as I stepped out onto my deck, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was 5 bright red lights in the shape of the 5 spots on a die.

The dots of light were moving as one, from the west to the south at a pretty slow speed.

They seemed to be close to earth. No sound.

I ran inside to get my camera, and by the time I was outside again, the 5 lights had almost completely disappeared into the southern sky, but were being followed by 5 or 6 single red lights, equally spaced in a straight line, moving again, as one, following the course of the original cluster of lights.

I was able to take a picture of three of the lights and am attaching the photo, even though the quality is very poor.

The sight filled me with very strange feelings ranging from awe and amazement, to fear.

What in the world was I seeing and what did it mean?

I have looked up similar sightings, and no explanation is ever given. The only thing I read was that it could be a meteor broken up.

This was not falling from the sky. The movement of the dots of light was not random or separate, these light were moving as one, across the sky.

Any ideas?  I would love to hear back from you and hear what you have to say.

60 Orange Lights/Objects Took Flight In The Sky Above Edmonton Alberta

Date:  December 29, 2012
Time:  Evening

Hey I live at Jasper Ave., and 109 and saw these things the other night. I sat in the stairwell for about 30 minutes, counted about 60 of these things.

They appeared to take off somewhere to the northwest and travel south on a sharp upward trajectory.

Some were spaced out more than others, while some seemed to stay lower and suddenly travel upwards and all seemed to disappear at the same point.

They can best be described as orange colored balls or light. They were far too high to be fireworks or flares, too low for aircraft and we rarely have aircraft over Edmonton.

Bright Amber Colored Light Changed To Vivid Red In The Sky Over New Westminster British Columbia

Date:  December 30, 2012
Time:  Approx: 10:47 p.m.

Hello Brian, just wanted to say last night Sunday, I saw something colourful in the sky and I don't know if other people reported this.
It was around 10:47 p.m. Sunday December 30th, 2012. I am located in New Westminster B. C.

I saw a round shaped bright amber orange coloured light move across the sky. I witnessed this light for approximately 45 seconds to 1 minute.

This object changed from amber/orange to bright vivid red color This changed of colour was in intervals.

The light would fade for a second or two then become vivid red or amber then  fading then brightening up to red then brilliant amber and fading then brightening up again.

There were planes I noticed in sky at the sometime I observed this horizontally moving light.

5 Bright Orange Colored Lights In The Sky Over The West Kootenays British Columbia

Date:  December 30, 2012
Time:  Evening.

Last night we saw 5 bright orange lights in the sky over the West Kootenays in British Columbia.

The lights all came from the west, travelling east. They were equally spaced and were visible for approximately 5 – 7 minutes.

The first two we saw seemed to stop and then continue on their path. They all followed the same pattern, the only difference was the last one seemed to disappear instead of following the path of the others.

Were there meteor showers last night? It’s one of the strangest things we have ever seen and we are curious to find out what it was.

15 Unknown Lights In The Sky Above Edmonton Alberta

Date:  December 29, 2012
Time:  7:30 p.m.

My neighbor saw about 15 of these at 7:30 p.m. last night, she describes them as being in clusters, some of them appeared to have something like a fiery exhaust or tail.

She describes them to me in exactly the same way as you have here.

Her name is (name and phone number deleted) and is relieved to know that in this instance at least, she is not crazy :)

I was away overseas so did not see them.
