Trowbridge Falls, Thunder Bay Ontario Four Witnesses Watch Round Object

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: July 19, 2004 Time: 5:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 4 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Round.

Full Description of event/sighting: A bunch of us rented a camp site at Trowbridge Falls, just outside of town. We were sitting on the picnic table and I noticed a white light in the sky. It was bright from me to notice because it was day light still. I pointed it out to my friends and we all stared at it while. It moved very fast in different directions, not like a plane's maneuvers and we all stared at the object for about 5 min then it flew off.

Thank you very much to the witness for their report.

Peterborough, Ontario Triangular Craft - Major UFO Sighting (Audio Report)

Posted: December 31, 2007

Clip #1 - I did an interview with a gentleman, and now friend who had a major UFO sighting when he resided in Peterborough, Ontario. A "huge" triangular craft flew slowly over top of his home. This is an amazing experience to say the least and the fellow gave me an excellent account of the event.

This audio clip and many more are all on The Report CDs. http://hbccufo.org/videos/Peterboroughtriangle.mp3

Laval, Quebec Object Stopped And Started To Ascend

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: July 6, 2004 Time: Mid-afternoon

It was mid-afternoon in Laval on the north shore of the Rivière des Prairies. To be specific in a small park between the Ahuntsic and Papineau bridges, both connecting Laval to Montreal. I was there with my mother who was visiting me from Europe.

She spotted the object first, pointing to the direction of the close-by senior citizen high-rise asking me “What do you think this is?” True, there was something floating in the air that I can describe as a floating plastic bag or sheet of newspaper. I told her what I thought but she insisted on that it was something else. Strangely after a few minutes it was still in the air at the same spot instead of blown away by the wind. It wobbled in an aimless way without any clear pattern of movement. Suddenly with a purposeful move it flew out to the river, stopped and started to ascend in a slight angle flying up and to the south towards Montreal. I had to run down to the water not to lose sight of it (trees in the park started to obstruct my view). From there I was able to follow it for about 10 minutes. It was flying slowly, very evenly, precisely keeping its direction until it became so small I lost sight of it.

Things don’t make sense here though. If the object was the size of a bag or newspaper, it would have been impossible to follow its flight for so long. I know there could be an explanation for it, like I’ve seen two separate events (the floating bag and the straight flying object). However I hadn’t lost sight of it between the two stages, not even when I moved from my bench to the river. If it was floating behind the building and not before as I first thought, then it must have been the size of a car or a truck. Or, and I know it sounds silly but it must have changed its shape and size.

This was not the end of the strangeness though. About half an hour had gone by, dark gray clouds moved in and we decided to leave. Again my mom alerted me saying “look up!” and pointed to the clouds right above our head. There were two small, bright, white round lights circling right below the dark cloud cover. Both made very small and fast circles in a strangely obsessive way. The whole thing lasted for less than a minute and they then disappeared into the clouds.

A further addition to this sighting: I’ve seen the exact same, very flat, newspaper or carpet looking object in the cloudless blue sky flying over the east end of Montreal. It was flying north or north west. I couldn’t even guess the size of it, because in the blue sky there was no point of reference. I was on the west side of the Versailles mall when I spotted it. It was white, flew very evenly without a wobble in a fast, purposeful way in total silence until the walls of the mall obstructed my view. This sighting happened in the late afternoon, maybe around 5 or 6 p.m. on October 28. 2004.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Brooklin, Ontario Loud Sound And Nothing To Be Seen

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: July 1st (?) Time: Approx: 2:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: It wasn't a sighting is was a loud engine noise. Number of witnesses: 1

Full Description of event/sighting: I was swimming in my pool like I do everyday at about 2:00pm or so. I hear what sounds like a 747. I'm thinking it's really low to the ground because of the loud noise it's making. I don't get care about loud noises, they don't scare me. I'm a grown man and pretty tough I would say. No noise is going to scare me off. But picture this. The sky is as blue as it gets, and for about 2 minutes this noise gets louder and louder and louder with no plane any where. Like a scared little school girl I call out to my neighbor who I thought was working on his deck in his yard. No answer. I literally went in the house to get out of the way. There was no plane. There was no plane, nothing makes that noise in the air except a plane. I don't know anymore.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Orleans, Ontario Cylindrical Craft Makes A Swishing Sound

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: Summer 2004 Time: Late afternoon.

Location of Sighting: Orleans, Ontario - My Backyard. Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Cylindrical.

HBCC UFO Research Note: I have requested the photos from the eyewitness.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was cleaning the pool on a nice sunny afternoon and noticed that the moon was really bright. I thought it would make a good picture with the moon shining on a sunny day instead of at night. Anyways I grabbed my camera and while it was turning on I could see this shiny object flying across the sky that didn't look like a normal plane, there were no wings, and it made a swishing sound. I got a picture of it and it was gone. I took some more pictures of the moon and later when I downloaded them to my computer, I noticed the object in another picture I took by the moon but it is quite high up and just looks like a spec. If you want to see the pictures I can send them to you.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Nanaimo, British Columbia A Circular Luminous Craft

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: June 15, 2004 Time: 9.30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Mt. Benson. Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Circular.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was at the corner of Forest and Merideth at the stop sign. I was watching a jet way off towards Comox, and remarking how clear the night was, no contrails from the jet. Half convinced it was a UFO, when off to my left a brilliant flash appeared up in the sky perhaps a half mile away, my wife remarked at the same time. I turned to stare at the clear, when it stopped to reveal circular, luminous shape. I stared for three or four seconds, thinking it must be a helicopter, and thought it also was watching the Comox jet. It then cloaked out from the top out. I'm crazy, but my wife is not. She describes it as the light sucking out of it.

I told a fellow I met walking his dog about the sighting a year later. His jaw dropped, he asked me if I was messing with him. I said no, then he then spouts the name of five witnesses and proceeds to tell me that on Gabriola Island about 7 years ago he saw the same craft, metallic flash, round luminous object. The object he saw traveled along a mountain wall, then cloaked out from the top down.

Additional Information:

We were stopped watching a far off Comox based jet. Then, off to the left, a blinding metallic glinting light appeared, and my wife spoke up to ask me to look at it. Nothing, was there before, I had actually scanned the sky as we drove to the stop sign. I turned my head to the left to look out the drivers window, and looked at the light. It stopped glinting to reveal a circle luminous appearing shape. I considered that I was looking head on into a helicopter, as they do have a little landing field that way, visible from off the Nanaimo parkway. I looked hard into the body of the shape to see if I could see some sort of operating control, but saw nothing, and then the shape, starting at the top, cloaked out from sight.

Like a cascade. Hey, I'm a Trekkie, like it stealthed out. I looked over at my wife, who, by all accounts is a sane and quite a sober person. I asked her if she saw what had happened. She replied she did, that it was the weirdest thing she has every seen in the sky. She claims she saw the light just suck out of it. Well, that's what I saw. June 15, 2004. I even called a radio station, not sure if here or Victoria based. Of course, no one else had, so I dropped it. It's not like I am unique. I hope I see something again, and it gets collaborated. But if it doesn't, oh well, not every question gets answered for you.

Rawdon, Quebec A Black Hole With Escaping Craft

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: June 6, 2004 Time: 9:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Black hole/with escaping craft.

Full Description of event/sighting: In 2004 a friend and I were always watching the sky, looking for shooting stars and so on. On this night we knew that we were not alone. I got a phone call from my friend saying, with excitement, look out and up the road as the northern lights are all at the top of the road. I will meet you out side, so I walked out side and sure enough here was this wave of lights moving about. Then we started to see what looked like a tornado, but upside down. All the lights were swirling around being sucked into this hole.

We were scared, but stayed. We thought that this was the end of the world as it was so huge that we started to talk about this thing sucking us up. Then there was a flash of light that came up from the earth into the hole and it started to close. My thought is that the northern lights is the release of energy when there is going to open a port hole. I can't explain this but there is life out there and they use these port holes to visit us. The lights we call the northern lights is a release of mass energy when the hole is at its peak. It did not last long, but it is something I will never forget.

Down Town Calgary, Alberta A Yellow/Green Light

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: Summer 2004 ? Time: Evening

Recently heard on the radio that Calgary had many UFO sightings. Well two years ago, during summer time me and my boyfriend were at Prince Edward Island Park in Calgary down town. We were sitting on the bench enjoying the night. Out of no where this yellow/green light from a distant away but were visible since the night was dark and this was standing out pretty well. It started from the ground for afar, it was yellow/green... it shoot it straight up in the air coming towards us, it stopped & it changed to more greenish color now.. and it flew the opposite direction of us and very fast. It flew away... and disappeared.

It all was really fast but we both saw it and both were shocked and we didn't know what to think of it.

It couldn't have been fireworks, because of the way it flew, fireworks would go up and disappear. But this went in a different angle and then change direction.

Well I'm not sure what I saw, just thought I share this with you. Please reply with any info you may have.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Langley, British Columbia Fast Moving Light Lost In The Clouds

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: June 15, 2004 Time: Approx: 11:00 p.m.

Langley, B.C. June of 2004, around 11:00 pm. I was with my friend (name removed) and we were stopping by a friend of hers so she could pick something up for work. I was standing outside of the car having a smoke when I saw a very bright light moving in the sky at a speed too fast to be a plane. I started calling my friend's name very loudly asking her to please hurry up and come outside. I'm sure I sounded frantic. Of course the second she stepped outside it went behind the clouds, and I said "Great, I finally see another U.F.O. thinking I'll have a witness to prove I'm not losing my mind and by the time you get your butt out here it goes behind the clouds. AHHHHH" She just laughed. But she does recall that day. I pointed out where I first saw it and then where it went behind the clouds and she even agreed it was moving too fast to be a plane. God bless.

Date: May 11, 2004 Time: 8:10 a.m.

The UFO was photographed May 11th, 2004 at 8:10 a.m. in Toronto. The Apparition was photographed on Highway 9 west of Orangeville. Something is catching the light from the sun and reflecting back. The full spectrum is seen. It was photographed December 19th, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. The Southern Cross was at first in the same position, but disappeared. It reappeared south of the sun appearing like the sun is setting in the south. There is light being reflected to the north pole from somewhere. Is this a similar anomaly or a simulated sun. It was photographed in the same area December 25th, 2004. Please use and distribute for viewing and analysis.

Aliens Did It: Circle Investigator

Posted: December 31, 2007

by Jennifer Lang

Terrace Standard News April 7, 2004 http://www.terracestandard.com/

Mysterious Circles that appeared on Scott Ave. lawn last month are the real deal, says Larry Sommerfield. They're crop circles created by alien visitors who are secretly monitoring our planet. "Actually, I would call it lawn circles, not crop circles," notes Sommerfield, who has been monitoring the site since he saw a photo in the Terrace Standard ("What in the world?" Page B1 March 17).

There's been very little change in their appearance, he said.

He's counted 16 circles of varying sizes. Some are a few inches in diameter, others are a few feet wide.

Inside, the grass is still dead, while neighboring blades on the lawn are growing taller and greener with each passing day.

"It could only be imitated by leaving a heavy weight there for several days, and would be seen." says Sommerfield, a retired tow truck driver and auto body repair man who lives in Thornhill.

Just weeds are making a come back now that the snow has melted.

He notes the circles are located on the side of a ditch, leading down a small embankment.

"A prankster would have put them in the center of the lawn where they can be seen," he concludes.

So, why would alien visitors leave such baffling clues on someone's lawn?

"It's simply the aliens way of letting us know they're around. They want us to know they're there."

Sommerfield is something of a self-styled expert in the paranormal. he became interested in alien activity after he realized visitors from outer space have been monitoring Earth for tens of thousands of years, a habit that increased once humans began testing and detonating atomic bombs, ending the Second World war but ushering in the Cold war.

"Until the atomic bombs went off, they just had a mild interest," he says. "It's only when we entered the Space Age they realized we were doing something to be concerned about."

He claims to have been the target of ongoing alien pranks. invisible visitors from outer space occasionally steal objects from his home, only to replace them several days later - but not always in the original location.

"Normally, the stuff comes back in about four day's time," he says, recalling a particular curious incident involving the unexplained disappearance of a Frank Sinatra 8-Track tape that contained the blue-eyed crooner's signature ditty, "My way".

Last year, Sommerfield and a colleague also found something they believe is Sasquatch scat - droppings they hope to have analyzed by a scientist.

So far, they still haven't heard back from any of the scientists they contacted.

Meanwhile, Sommerfield says Scott Ave. resident Jean Thompson shouldn't worry about the curious circles on her lawn.

"Just leave it. By fall it will grow back."

Action, Ontario A Sighting Of Multiple Lights

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: April 14 - 15, 2004 Time: Varies.

Hi Brian, My fiancée and I wrote previously about a sighting on April 9th, 2004 from Acton, Ontario. This was the sighting of multiple lights, traveling at a fast speed with no flashing lights or sound. Well, since that sighting we have continued to see these odd lights in the sky, only around at a certain time between approximately 9:20 p.m. to 9:50 p.m.

On the second sighting it was myself and our neighbor and we spotted a significantly larger amount of lights. At 9:39 p.m on April 14th, 2004, there were approximately 25-30 of these lights in the shape of a 'V'. They were moving North on a slight angle to the West. They were harder to spot because they seemed to be higher up in the sky. Again, there were no flashing lights and there was no sound.

The third sighting took place on April 15th, 2004. There were three witnesses: Myself, (name deleted) (my fiancée) and our neighbor. There were four separate sightings this night.

1. 9:29 p.m. - 7 lights (perfect 'V' shape) seemed very distant, it would be hard to spot if you were not looking for these specific lights. These lights traveled for about 15 seconds.

2. 9:30 p.m. - Less then a minute later then our first sighting of that night. 5 lights, very distant. In a different pattern of five lights.

3. 9:44 p.m. - 3 lights were spotted, and was more distinctive and brighter than the first two sightings of the night. These lights seemed to be lower to the ground then the first two sightings. The lights lasted about 20 seconds. They were the size of (name deleted) pinky finger-nail.

4. 9:49 p.m. - 4 lights, lower to the ground than all three sightings from this night. These were the size of Joe's thumb finger-nail. These lights lasted about 19 seconds.

- For all of these sightings on that night was no sound, and were moving at a quick speed.

The fourth day of sightings took place tonight, on April 16th, 2004. There were 3 separate sightings tonight.

1. 9:20 p.m. - 7 lights, lasted 16 seconds. Spotted just West of the Big Dipper heading North in an unorganized 'V' shape.

2. 9:25 p.m. - 2 lights, lasted 17 seconds. Spotted further West of the Big Dipper, than the first sighting of the night, and heading towards the North. When first spotted the Left light was ahead of the Right light. As they moved across the sky, they ended up side-by-side, and disappeared into the distant with the Right light now leading.

3. 9:27p.m - 7 lights, lasted 20 seconds. Spotted in the same location as the second sighting of the night. they were in an unorganized 'V' shape. This sighting was visible in the distance and not right above us, much harder to spot.

We have been seeing them on a regular basis, and are very curious on what we are observing. It would be absolutely nice to hear from you, and here your perspective on what you think we are seeing. On every sighting, there was no sound, and there were no aircrafts in it's surroundings. We only spotted aircrafts before and after each sighting. We did do drawings as soon as we came in the house, and would really like for you to look into this, and help give us some understanding. We hope to hear from you soon.

Than you.

Thank you to the witnesses for the report.

West Kootenay Region of British Columbia Large Bright Object

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: March 29, 2004 Time: 2:00 a.m.

Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Large & bright - probably one.

Full Description of event/sighting: Both awake watching TV when an extremely bright and large object went by the bedroom window. Looked like it was flames (yellow mainly but blindingly bright) but we decided it looked that way as it was passing behind a fir tree outside our window. It traveled horizontally to the ground and made no sound whatsoever. Saw reported sighting from an airport but not naming it and think that it would have to have been seen by the Castlegar Airport in B.C.

Additional Information:

It was partially overcast, not raining, not real clear and no full moon that I recall. There was no tail or trail that we could see. The object was traveling from West to East. Not good at judging altitudes but laying in the same position on the bed the next day and looking at the fir tree it had gone behind it could not have been much above the tree tops traveling parallel to the ground. Judging from the time the object stayed in view, it would have had to be at least a few hundred feet long. Could not tell the texture because of the extreme brilliance. Since this was approx. 2 a.m. we were not looking for aircraft but this could definitely not have been an aircraft and there was no sound. We called the closest neighbor the next day but he said he was sleeping and saw nothing. The object was visible long enough for us both to say at the same time - "Holy crap, what is that?" and then it was out of sight.

Thank you to the witness for the interesting report.

St. Johns, Newfoundland Circular with Dome

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: March 26, 2004 Time: 4:22 a.m.

Location of Sighting: Grave Yard Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 5 Shape of objects: Circular with Dome.

Full Description of event/sighting: The UFO was almost like a dinner plate with a dome on the bottom, not like most sightings. I saw about 3-4 UFO's.

I wasn't sure if it was just a new military plane or an air show from gander. I was visiting the grave of my dearly departed uncle. I was excited to actually see a UFO. I believe they aren't little green men at all. I believe they are much like us. The U.S government though is keeping their little secrets about their encounters with the Extra Terrestrials. I believe they Have met them.

Additional Information:

Yes the year was 2004. It was clear and no clouds/wind (daytime-3:47) The object was located in the eastern sky and then moved overhead. It moved very slow, and seemed to stop for a second. Slower than I expected. It was a saucer shaped object with dome on bottom, not top. About 50 feet wide and 35 feet tall. I live nowhere near an airport or military base. The altitude of the object was approximately 100/200 feet above a hill. I was able to observe the object for about 15/20 minutes.

Iron Bridge, Ontario Huge Round Ball Of Light

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: Spring of 2004 Time: 10:15 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 3 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Huge round ball of light.

Full Description of event/sighting: Spring of 2003 on a Sunday, Iron Bridge, Ontario, Canada, Hwy 17 East.

My wife and I were on our way back home, when about a kilometer west bound towards Blind River, we saw a huge ball of light. The light was to the north of Hwy 17, sitting just on the horizon of the hill top. We pulled over our vehicle to the shoulder of the road and got out to observe further. It was of the colors white and a bright yellow. The object was probably about 500 meters from us and hovering. We noticed two jets racing to meet the ball of light. When the jets arrived, they seem to halt immediately in the air.

Next the jets were sent back in the same direction in which they arrived as if they were recourse back. The object moved finally, and slowly hovered over us, without stopping. The most interesting thing about the whole sighting was while I observed the ball of light surrounding the object, my wife observed 3 lights of glowing red from underneath it, were I did not as it passed over us. For her it lost it glow as soon as it became over us and became just 3 lights in the shape of a triangle. The object must have been about 30 meters above us with no sound to be heard. The sighting last for over 12 minutes. The next day I asked the people I work with if they had seen anything in the sky's last night, a woman I work with observed two U.F.O's over Blind River around 6:00 p.m. and another at 8:00 p.m. I have been in the military, and have been in night missions in helicopters and seen jets in the night, and I can honestly say, that this was not military in capacity.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Saint-Georges de Beauce, Quebec Four Orange Lights

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: March 19, 2004 Time: Approx: 9:10

Location of Sighting: At home in the city. Number of witnesses: 9 Number of objects: 4 Shape of objects: Orange lights.

Full Description of event/sighting: It was about 9:10 at night when the phone rang. It was my daughter. She asked me to go out and to look at the sky, I did this immediately. What I've seen has totally captivated me! I screamed at my wife and at my youngest daughter to get out of home, so they can see that.

Our eyes where locked at the sky and we saw 4 orange lights that slowly traveling the sky toward west direction, of our geographic position. They were keeping a precise distance between them.

My wife bring me my little binoculars and I saw a little more closer. It was like ovals objects, and the center of theses things seemed to be of a metallic gray. Each objects was surrounded by a orange luminous hallow. Theses objects were disappeared one by one like if they extinguished.

I'm a rational and moderate men, but this observation made me realize that the more skeptical persons can be confuse.

P.S: (I speak mostly in French, so, sorry if this text have some mistakes) I've decide to contact you about what we saw because I think that your site is one of the most serious and professional that I found.

Thank you for your reading, and congratulations for your work.

Object was pointed out to me by my wife saying "was it that"? About 1-2 kms from us a little higher than eye level, not sure altitude? It was by the airport it stood in place in the sky.. bluish white light. It went brighter and bigger than dim and small than repeated that 1 more time and on the third when dimmed it vanished. *POOF* Both me and my wife looked at each other in awe. Total time of sighting: 5-10 seconds.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Ottawa, Onatrio Fireball

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: March 21, 2004 Time: 7:37 p.m.

Two witnesses driving on Rosebella street with my son, between Conroy road and Bank, going towards Bank, I saw a blue green fireball with a trail behind, going almost as fast as a shooting star. It looked like going down to earth in a South-West direction, I lost it behind the houses, awaiting a big crashing noise but nothing at all. I first saw It at about the same altitude as commercial planes usually fly when they are on approach to the Airport, it happened so quickly that it is really hard to be precise with the altitude but this is what I remember.

I decided to go to the back road of Ottawa Airport since the ball was seen going toward it. No sign of the event but a few cars driving around the airport in the same direction. I'm sure lot of people saw it, this is a very clear night, crystal clear with a few light clouds floating quickly pushed by the strong wind. I'm sure the Airport radar caught it and the Canadian Forces station Letrim too, these two being very close from the place we were at the moment. Two big commercial airplanes size of a Airbus 320 arrived at the moment I was on the airport back road Letrim and there were some more on approach from a distance.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Calgary, Alberta Spherical Silver White Objects

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: Early 2004 Time: Mid afternoon

Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 7-9 Shape of objects: Sphere

Full Description of event/sighting: I was walking home from the bus, and out of the NNE I noticed a line of objects moving to the SW. They were spherical silver white in colour and silent. It was difficult to judge the altitude since it was a clear day, but my best guess is that they were at or above 30,000 feet. They moved at a steady pace across the sky without any contrails. As they moved they changed from a line formation to a delta formation. They couldn't have possibly been birds as they were too high and too fast and were distinctly metallic.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Sarnia, Ontario Bright Orange Object (Excellent Photos)

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: March 21, 2004 Time: Evening

Hello Brian, I just read an article about UFO's in 1977 in the Sarnia, ON. area. (http://www.ufoinfo.com/sightings/canada/770800a.shtml). (Report pasted below witness is referring to) So I decided I would share this with you since you asked for information at the end of this article. On March 21, 2004 I seen what I suspect was the same thing that is referred to in the article above.

As a matter of fact, Paul Martin, P.M. seen the same thing as it was reported in the newspaper by Jim Bronskill a day or so later. A neighbour and I both took photos of this occurrence. I have attached two of the ones that I took. For lack of a better name I referred to them as a fireball but personally think that it was an UFO.

Did you ever hear further on this incident? Regards.

Additional Information:

Hello Brian, Thanks for the quick response. I am happy someone does not think I am "loosing it" or "imaging it". (G)

I have called my neighbour's son who took a video of the UFO. He will be in touch with you but does not have a computer. I have given him a copy of the article I read which in turn has your info on it. But no phone number. Perhaps if you have one you could forward it to me and I will see he gets it. His name, etc. below. (HBCC UFO Research has removed the neighbour's full contact information)

The neighbour actually followed the object over to Canatara Park a few blocks from here so assume he has some good footage.

I have attached another photo which I took before the object got closer. I did not think that it was that good so did not send the first time.

Thank you to the witness for sending in the report and for allowing me to post the photos. The photos are copyrighted to the owner, or the person who took them. Also Monday, January 29, 2007 I will be calling the neighbour to see what information I can gather.

The witness for the above report was referring to the report she read at UFOINFO, "below". HBCC UFO would also like to point out that it is so very important to file report sighting reports as it makes a huge difference, such as in this case.

Three excellent pictures of the object can be viewed in the media area at the end of this entire report.

Thank you to this witness for the great photos and report.

Sarnia, Ontario Huge Dull Orange Sphere Shoots Into The Sky Then Stops

UFO Sighting, August 1977

Joe Dietrich & passenger.

It was barely a month past my 30th birthday, early August 1977, I was dining out with friends in a favorite downtown Buffalo NY restaurant. Time was running out for me in Buffalo for in a few weeks I would be heading to Key West Florida to begin a new life. But on this particular summer night I was to make a journey that was destined to become one of my life's most memorable experiences.

I have made this trip several times so it's a fairly predictable route from Buffalo NY to Flint, Michigan, no surprises. This was to be my last visit with my mom and sisters knowing we probably wouldn't see each other for many months. I wanted to get an early evening start out of Buffalo, but dinner with friends went quite late so I didn't hit the road until about 10:pm. I was upset at myself for making such a late departure knowing it would inconvenience my family up in Flint with me arriving in the wee hours of the morning...but I was determined to go that night.

Even considering the late time of night I actually felt rested and alert. I usually preferred driving at night, as I found it to be peaceful with little distraction and this night gave me time to reflect on my upcoming move to Florida. I was all too familiar with this route having taken it often. Because my vintage '52 Ford pickup truck had a top speed of only 55 mph it would take me about 5 hours to drive from Buffalo to Flint.....4-hours for everyone else!

Heading north out of downtown Buffalo towards the Canadian border, passing through customs, and over the Peace bridge, I was on my way. A few hundred yards into Canadian territory I spotted a college kid on the side of the road holding a sign "to Michigan". He was small of stature and appeared harmless, and I figured this passenger would make the trip less lonely and give me some interesting conversation, so I stopped to pick up the hitchhiker.

But to my dismay the young man was very tired and had very little to say, in fact he napped on and off during most of the long drive. So, to keep my mind occupied and me awake, I kept the truck radio on...and the volume low, so it would not wake the sleeper. I was remembering how scenic the Canadian countryside is during daytime with it's rolling farmland and picturesque villages...but at night it is dark and still, the towns are practically invisible, and now it's just me and my passenger in my old truck heading westward down this 2-lane winding highway on a warm August night.

I have been driving for almost 3-hours now through the Ontario countryside passing the towns of St. Catherine's, Hamilton, and London. We are now about a half-hour from the border town of Sarnia, on highway 22 (I believe), it's about 2:am pitch dark outside, the summer night is warm and the truck windows are rolled down. It's a beautiful night on this lonely country highway and my old Ford pickup is the only vehicle on the road. My hitchhiking passenger and myself are engaged in idle conversation when suddenly he is startled by something outside. He is looking out his passenger window, head slightly turned upward and exclaims, "...look over there!...what is that light above the house?" I couldn't see what he was looking at due to the angle of the object and my position in the driver's seat, so while trying to keep the truck on the road, and slowly applying the brakes, I leaned over my passenger's shoulder to get a better look at the object he was so excited about. With one hand on the steering wheel, stretching to get a look out his window, I was amazed at what I saw. Here was a 2-story white farmhouse set back maybe 100 feet from the highway but directly above the house was a large, glowing, dull orange ball or sphere almost floating or hovering in the air nearly touching the peak of the roof. It was an ominous sight, as you could clearly see the outline of the sphere through the few tall trees which surrounded the house.

We were both awestruck. "Oh my God" I said as I was trying to bring the truck to a stop, "I have to get a better look at this". I told my passenger to keep his eyes on the object, as I brought the old truck to a slow stop. Since we were the only vehicle on the road I stopped right in the middle of the highway, there was no time to pull over. Not wanting to waste time, I quickly jumped out of the truck and onto the pavement to get a full view of this magnificent orange glowing sphere hovering very still over the farmhouse. We stood there in absolute silence and gazed at this big, orange ball which was about half the size of the farmhouse.

Unfortunately I was in for a huge disappointment. While standing on the highway and trying to analyze this incredible object I reached over and slammed the truck door closed. Almost at that exact moment, and without making the slightest sound, the sphere shot quickly up into the night sky like a speeding bullet. My eyes fixated on the object as it streaked way up into the sky for a distance of what seemed like a mile, then came to a sudden stop then resumed its flight into space at a constant 45 degree angle until it was completely out of our sight. The "escape" flight from the farmhouse was at an exceptional rate of speed which seemed to take 3-seconds to make it's disappearance into space. We were quite disappointed that our encounter with the object was so brief. I calculated that our total viewing time for this extraordinary event was barely one-minute, if even that.

We were quite stunned at what had just taken place. I said to my passenger, "do you believe what we have just witnessed?" He was speechless and I was in mild shock and now more alert than I had been all night. Since my passenger had the object in his view almost twice as long as I did, I asked him to describe it in detail to me, as I could recall only a large, round sphere which was positioned over the house. The passenger described it as more of an oval shaped object, but also very large. Both of us witnessed the quick exit, heard to total silence, as we looked at each other in absolute amazement. I was cursing the fact that the object did not stay in our view longer for our own selfish investigation. This was the opportunity of a lifetime, here right in front of us, for only one minute, and then gone forever. It was almost as if by stopping the truck on the highway we sort of startled it and it then had to make a quick getaway.

Back in my old truck and on the road again we are high on adrenaline. As we continued westward towards the Michigan-Canadian border at Sarnia, we could not stop talking about what we had just seen. In my mind I had to challenge any other possible explanation for this event. I am basically a skeptic who does not wish to get carried away with blind emotion where a simple or obvious explanation might present itself. Therefore, I began to eliminate some possible causes for this event:

Was it:

1) An aircraft. NO. No engine noise, no noise at all. Completely silent.

2) A Balloon. NO. Could not move that quickly or turn at that angle.

3) The Sun....NO. The right color of the setting sun, but wrong time of day.

Wrong position in sky. Too fast.

4) Lightning...NO. No sound. Stationary. Geometric shape and exit.

5) Other........YES. Most likely extraterrestrial or UFO.

My passenger and I agreed that this object was something from "out there"...but where that is, is unknown. We were obviously not meant to study it or get closer to it than we did. Whatever was taking place in the space directly over the farmhouse or maybe even inside the farmhouse is not known. All the lights in the house were off, the residents were probably sleeping. (since it was 2:AM) Many questions were left unanswered.

As I approached the guard station at the Canadian/American border at Sarnia I decided NOT to tell our sighting story to the officers. I am confident that what I saw with my own eyes was real. I was never threatened by this object, no harm was ever directed my way, so there was no cause for alarm. I leave Canada with an experience that validates my longtime belief that we are indeed not alone in this vast universe.

One month later I moved, as planned, to Key West, Florida. I related this experience to others who would then give me that incredulous gaze that so many eye witnesses get when we bring up the subject of UFO's. But that's ok. I received a little validation a few months later in a Key West restaurant when I was introduced to a couple of tourists from Ontario. I mentioned my sphere sighting to them and they were not at all surprised....they explained that the newspapers reported many sightings in and around Ontario during that particular month. I just smiled.

My deepest thanks to Joe for a wonderful report and for retelling his experience in an audio report. Joe also granted permission to use his full name. Joe and I both would love to hear from anyone from Ontario who may have been in and around this area in August of 1977 who may have witnessed this event.
