Clarkson, Ontario Star-Like Object Darts Around

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: 1966/1967 ? Time: Evening

My friend (name removed) and I, aged 13 or 14, were 'UFO searching' (maybe spring or fall when it got dark earlier). We were in the school park looking up at the sky. It was filled with stars. After a time, we witnessed, way off in the distance, what seemed to be a star because it was white at first. It darted about the sky sporadically while changing colours (green, red, bright yellow). Then we saw others do the same. It was almost like watching them play a game of tag. I have no recollection of time or space after that or if we talked about the experience with anyone else.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Winnipeg, Manitoba Green Object In 1947 And Involved In Project Blue Book

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Approx:1947 Time: Approx: 9:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Winnipeg Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Sphere.

Full Description of event/sighting: At the age of 13, I was larking about with a friend at a street corner under an incandescent street light. I happened to look up into the night sky and saw a dim emerald green object which would disappear if I looked directly at it. It was bigger than the moon and visibly cratered. My hair stood on end as though I was looking at a menacing ghost. My friend noticed my distraction and asked what was wrong. For some reason, I was too terrified to tell him what I was looking at. This might have been because I was scared I was hallucinating. Years later as an airman in the RCAF, I was watching an Aero Medicine WW2 fighter pilot training film on how to spot enemy aircraft at night. The technique required one not to stare directly at a suspected sighting but just off its suspected location. Once I understood the physiology of day and night vision, I realized that my sighting as a boy was not a hallucination. Further research brought me to an interesting article from a USAF radar site claiming that a spherical object was orbiting the earth on the shadow side. This and other characteristics suggested that extraterrestrials use asteroids to travel through space and that UFOs are shuttles.I was also involved in "Blue Book" while in the RCAF.

Thank you to the witness for the fascinating report.

Tuc-El-Nuit Lake Oliver, British Columbia 1950s Flying Saucer

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Early to mid 1950's Time: Early afternoon.

Location of Sighting: Tuc-el-nuit Lake Oliver B.C. Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Saucer shape on top and bottom.

HBCC UFO Research Note: Now this is a really interesting sighting report since there appears to have been more people who witnessed this object as the person reporting mentions the radio station carried a news story on this craft being observed by others. I would like to request from other who were in that area at the time and if they saw this craft, would you please be kind enough to contact me here at HBCC UFO Research with the details of what you saw. Thank you, Brian.

Full Description of event/sighting: I recall I was 8 or 10 years old and playing by myself in our back yard on the west side of Tuc-el-Nuit Lake.

I was not looking at the lake but was facing north. A movement over my right shoulder caught my attention and I turned towards the lake.

Flying very low above the lake and coming from the south was a very strange looking airplane. It had no wings, no propeller, was the same shape top and bottom and made no sound. The size was a bit bigger than any plane I'd seen before and the only planes I had seen were small private planes. I'd never been to a big airport. The colour a silver grey. The lake was only half a mile wide at that point so "the plane" was quite close and only about three times as high as our rooftop. If it had been a float plane I would have expected it to be landing at the far end of the lake.

It was moving only a little faster than I would have expected a plane to fly. I watched it continue up the lake then went back to my playing.

Later when I went in the house I told my mother about the strange plane I'd seen.

A short time later she heard on the 5:00 pm news that a "flying saucer" had been seen by a great many people flying north up the Okanagan Valley. It fit the description of what I'd seen so she told me about it. The radio station was CKOK Penticton.

I wasn't overly impressed as I'd never even heard of flying saucers. My parents were aware of them but it was never a topic that they had any reason to discuss. To me it was just a funny looking airplane. In fact, if it had not been on the news I doubt that I would have remembered it as the years went by. Of course to see it now would be very exciting and I would pay a lot more attention!

Over the years I've looked at archives of sightings in B.C. but have never seen mention of that event. That surprises me a bit since several people apparently reported it to the radio station at the time.

Unfortunately I can't give the exact year. I just know it was after 1950 and before 1960. It was around the time that my parents were part of a team of volunteers that had to report any planes they heard or saw during their shift. My parents shift was midnight to 2 A.M.. Both being teachers they used the time to mark papers! Years later when I asked why they were doing that, they couldn't remember what it was about but that it was being done in more areas than Oliver.

Around that same time period there was another sighting in the sky that I noted but did not think about more than just briefly. I was in the same area of Oliver playing with some friends. This was early afternoon in the summer. They were standing above me on a mound of dirt and as I was looking at them I noticed three bright lights in the sky to the north. They looked like very bright stars and formed a small triangle. We all watched them for a while but they didn't move so we went on playing. Over the next half hour whenever we looked up they were there. Since I remembered my father saying that as a boy in Alert Bay (1920's) he and a friend once watched several unmoving "stars" for a whole afternoon I just assumed that we also were looking at stars. Yes we knew that it was unusual to see stars in the daylight. The reason I remembered the event was that I was pleased that I'd seen something special that my dad had seen when he was about my age. Since then I've looked for stars in the daytime sky when the air is very clear but have never seen any.

I realize this report is from a long time ago but I am hoping you have records of this from other people. If nothing else I appreciate the opportunity to at last tell someone about the event. Thank-you.

Thank you to the witness for the wonderful report.

Tuc-El-Nuit Lake Oliver, British Columbia Between 1954 And 1958 A V Formation

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Between 1954 And 1958 Time: Daylight Sighting.

HBCC UFO Research Note: The sister for the below report is referring to her sisters sighting: *Tuc-El-Nuit Lake Oliver, British Columbia 1950s Flying Saucer *

This is a bit of an unusual addition to a report you posted earlier.

My older sister submitted the report "Tuc-El-Nuit Lake Oliver, British Columbia 1950s Flying Saucer". She emailed me to take a look at this site, and I read her submission. Now, it gets a bit strange.

This was the very first time I heard about her seeing this event. That in itself is not particularly strange, but I saw something similar, and she did not know of my sighting nor I hers! Reading her report was a bit of a shock, to say the least.

What follows is a description of what I saw sometime between 1954 and 58. I was somewhere between 4 and 8 years old.

It was a bright day with a solid high overcast, and I believe in the afternoon. No wind and a warm day.

I was outside by the lake shore, facing south. Something attracted my attention and I looked up high to my left in time to see three objects streak towards the south. They were moving much faster than any ducks flew, and were absolutely silent. There was no flapping of wings or any body movement whatsoever. They did not appear to be descending, but got smaller as they flew out of sight behind a row of Poplar trees about 100M away.

There were three objects, flying in a "V" formation. They looked to me at the time like ducks with no tails and very short stubby wings. They were dark in colour and I saw no markings or distinguishable features. My age and lack of any other reference led me to assume they were just weird birds. What seemed unusual to me at the time other than the weird shape was the speed and silence of their flight.

They appeared to me as ducks would look if they were flying 10 or 15 M above my head. I should have seen details and heard the murmuring that ducks make as they fly.

I told my Mom and Dad about the "ducks". They questioned me but couldn't really come to any satisfactory conclusions and we just shrugged and moved on.

My sister and I talked about these events for the first time today. Neither of us were aware of the other's sighting. We are not really able to figure out who saw what first, but we are both certain that we did not know of each other's story. We are equally certain that we saw what we saw, and are not "remembering" a story we heard from the other.

FYI. Tuc-el-nuit Lake is, according to Indian legend, the birthplace of Ogopogo. He apparently swam up the Okanagan river to Okanagan Lake. The "Okanagan Arch" is also visible from this area.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Revelstoke, British Columbia Sound From UFO Clears Bars And Restaurants In Town

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: 1963 or 1964 (?)

HBCC UFO Research Note: The witness asks if anyone had contacted HBCC UFO Research over this event. I know I have not received anything at all on this, so I am asking that if anyone does have any knowledge about this unusual event to please contact Brian Vike through the HBCC UFO Research website. I would love to get working on this case. I also replied to this witness and hope I will be able to speak to the person on the telephone to gather more information.

Message: Hi Brian..not sure if the number you gave is meant to be a phone or not, but it's trying to connect to a fax machine.

Anyway, what I wanted to ask you is if you've had anyone write or talk to you about a UFO in Revelstoke in 1963 or '64. The sound it made emptied all the bars and restaurants in the downtown area, so quite a few people would have seen it.

I saw it as it hovered over our house, while watching from the second story window, a totally terrified 13 year old. The memory of it is still crystal clear, the color, shape, sound and movement of it has never left me. I watched it hover for at least one full minute less than 20 feet away, (though it seemed like hours to someone who was trying not to be seen, although I know I was, and was being watched). I've looked in Project Blue Book but there is no mention of it there, which I found to be very strange. And for some reason over the past few months - the memory of it won't leave me alone, so I wanted to find out more from someone else if possible. But it must be someone who takes UFO's very seriously.

The one thing that has always struck me were it's lights. Many people think they have a blinking light, but I'm not so sure. This one had red circular lights on it that "appeared" to blink, but didn't. It has what appeared to be an outer casing that revolved around the body of the craft with circular cut-outs on it - as it passed over the red areas, a light appeared to blink but in reality it never shut off. I can see the metal color and texture too..charcoal gray with a navy horizontal striping (very thin) that went around the craft from top to bottom, very, very smooth. It still gives me the impression of velvet satin.

The sound it made was a hushed hum, while it sat half over the roof but well within my sight very gently pitching in a circular movement, it moved closer to my window when I knelt down so I couldn't be seen (or so I thought), then it just went away. It made no sound but for a sonic boom when it was already out of sight, and no aircraft on this planet can move as fast as that did, moving out and up at the same time.

Please tell me that someone else has told you about this one, I am a very well-balanced female of 55 years who knows what she saw - but have not spoken about it until now. I wouldn't be speaking about it now either, except the memory of it is really haunting me, and believe me. UFO's are not something I think about!

Thanks.

Thank you so much to the witness for relating this amazing experience, and again I hope to speak to this person soon. The more detail I can receive just maybe we can find others who also were witness to this UFO event.

Near Lake Glenmore, Calgary Alberta UFO Stops And A Bright Flash Of Light

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Around 1968 Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.

In Calgary in about 1968 we lived on the edge of town, near Lake Glenmore. About 10:00 p.m. I was looking SW over the foot hills it was dark so I assume it was May or June. The UFO flew too fast for a helicopter yet would stop and flash a bright light as if it were talking a picture, of several sections of ground, 5 or 10 square miles. The movement was fairly methodical, covering 10 miles rapidly then stopping for the picture, or the flash of white light. The movement seemed too fast for a jet & the fact that it stopped was why I labeled this sighting UFO. I don’t believe the British Harrier (sp) Jet was yet invented. The craft was too far away for any details on the structure, just the rapid movement & the flash of light. I was 13 or 14 at the time & it seems I heard a mention of the story around town but really just kind of kept quite about the sighting, I was the new kid in town. It is amazing that nearly 40 years later I can vividly recall that craft traversing the southern sky.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Northern Ontario Unusual And Unknown Phenomena

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Fall in 1962 Time: Approx: 8:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Home-Northern Ontario. Number of witnesses: 6 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Invisible.

Full Description of event/sighting: Around 8:00 pm in early Fall in 1962 my family (parents and siblings plus a young neighbor) were enjoying an evening watching TV. I had just finished having a shower and was just about to exit the bathroom when I heard a tremendous crash from out side the door (in the hallway). I immediately opened the door from the bathroom into the hallway and saw my whole family standing in the hallway looking at the ceiling. They were looking at the entrance to the attic which was an opening in the ceiling covered by a three quarter inch thick piece of plywood about two feet square. The attic cover had risen up by itself four feet into the attic and then came crashing down so hard that it splintered into dozens of pieces all over the floor. The cover was particularly heavy and required two hands to move it if one wanted to enter the attic (no-one ever did). There were no drafts noticeable to anyone in the house and no seismic or weather events that may have had anything to do with the phenomena. I moved to California 6 months later and heard from my mother that the same thing occurred once more before the whole family moved to California later that year (1963).

Thank you to the witness for the really interesting story.

Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan Shiny Metallic Cigar Shaped Object

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: July-August 1969 ? Time: ??

Message: Back in 1969, several members of my family and some neighbors across the street saw a shiny metallic cigar shaped object in the sky over the southwest area of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. It hovered in the sky for several minutes and then shot off. I was nearly 5 years old at the time and cannot personally remember the incident. However, several calls were placed to the airbase regarding the sighting and it was reported in the Moose Jaw Times Herald. It was reported sometime in July-August, I think.

Also, back in 1947 when my mom was a girl, she and a number of students during recess at Westmount school in Moose Jaw saw several strange objects in formation hovering and moving in the sky above the school yard.

Thank you to the witness for this report.

East Of Peterborough, Ontario Former News Director Has An Incredible Experience

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: July or August of 1969 Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.

HBCC UFO Research Note: I thought I would add a quick note here. The gentleman mentions in his letter to me that he was a former news director of CFBV/LD radio in Smithers. The radio station in Smithers is a 45 minute drive from me heading west, and Smithers is located in British Columbia, Canada. I also do short spots on the radio station the man is talking about, giving local updates on UFO sightings for out entire area.

Message: Hi Brian. Nice to meet you. First off, I'm a former news director of CFBV/LD radio in Smithers. Additionally, I worked at Endako mines for a few years in the '70's. As you can imagine, I'm quite familiar with Houston, having lived and 'played' in Fraser Lake, Endako, Burns Lake, Telkwa and Smithers for many years in the late 70's and early 80's. Heck, I met my first wife at an Ian Tamblyn concert in '81 at the Endako Community hall!! I live in Peterborough County, Ontario. Ironically, yesterday, I received a post card from an old buddy who's currently vacationing in Australia, he lives in Quick. Remember the Christmas flood of the community of Quick back in '83? Here is my story.

I was born and raised on a 100 acre farm 20 miles east of Peterborough, Ontario. The incident took place in July or August of 1969 when I was sixteen. I was alone in my family's farmhouse located 75 feet from a gravel township road. At that time we had a border collie mutt named Chief who was an extremely good guard dog, vicious would be an appropriate description. My father passed away the previous February and Chief had become even more nasty. Lots of people driving on the property would remain in their vehicle until one of us appeared in the driveway to rescue them from the snapping dog.

It was approximately ten o'clock in the evening and I was sitting in the living room watching TV with the overhead light on. I noticed a light shining through the closed white drapes covering the south window. I thought, "That's odd. The light's on, if the light was off I could easily see the light's of a vehicle passing the farmhouse, but the light's on??!! And I can't hear a car." I exited the living room and entered the kitchen. I looked out the aluminum screen door on the south side of the kitchen and saw a light on the other side of some poplar trees growing about 150 yards from the house on the other side of the road. The light was white and about the size of your thumbnail.

Now this is where it gets interesting. Chief was standing just outside of the screen door, with his butt against the aluminum. He was making the most peculiar, extremely low, guttural growl and every piece of fur on his body was standing straight out, as though he'd been electrocuted. I'd never heard him make such an odd sound. He was scared witless. Normally he'd rush across the yard barking and growling at the human, the squirrel, the skunk etc. Not this night. The light was moving west to east and the dog's nose followed the light precisely. Whatever was moving in the sky was definitely the cause for Chief's abject terror.

I couldn't open the door to investigate as the dog's rear end was 'bunched' against the door. I yelled at the dog to get out of the way. He wouldn't move. He was frozen. Finally, after a few seconds of admonishing the dog, I forced the door open which pushed Chief out of the way. His nose never wavered from observing the moving light. I walked across the yard towards the road and the light which was still slowly moving west/east. It would occasionally disappear behind a poplar and then reappear a second later. There was no sound. I guesstimated the object to be 150 to 200 yards away. Chief, the nasty guard dog, never left the cement patio on the front of the house, but he continued to observe the thing and kept growling in that most peculiar manner.

Then I realized something very odd. By this time I was standing on the road. Not only was the flying object making no sound, but there were no cricket, tree frog or katydid sounds as well. Brian, what in heaven's name has the ability to silence the amphibians and insects of the forest? I felt a very palpable and rising sense of terror.

I lived in that farmhouse for 18 years. At no time did any of my family members nor I ever 'get the gun' because we were frightened of something. It never happened, well, just once. I ran across the yard, past the dog who was still frozen by the front door and into the woodshed. I grabbed the single shot 22 rifle and the shells. I was so frightened, even today, I can recall my right hand shaking as I fumbled to put a shell in the gun. I can clearly remember thinking, "This is the stupidest thing I've ever done! What good is this 'pop gun' going to do for me against that 'thing' out there across the road? I might as well throw a chunk of gravel against the object."

The next thing I remember I was seated on the couch in the living room with the loaded 22 across my lap. The light was still illuminated and the TV was on. I was calm, cool and collected. My heart rate was normal. The flying object was now located to the east of the house, out over the barnyard and for the next ten to fifteen minutes I kept looking over my shoulder through the south window at the light in the sky. I could barely make out a ring as though the light was the 'diamond' on the edge of the ring. A couple of minutes into this session, the light changed from solid white to a blinking red light. It became smaller and smaller and blinked faster and faster. From my perspective, it appeared that the object shot out into space. At no time was I worried or concerned about the UFO in the barnyard. I had a lackadaisical attitude towards it and I thought, "Big deal, it's just a UFO, why worry about it?" as I watched TV and occasionally turned to look at it out the south living room window.

I want to make something perfectly clear, Brian: the next part of my story is a dream. This did not happen. For all of my adult life I can clearly remember the dream. In my dream, I was standing in the woodshed at my family's old farmhouse, in the night, with the woodshed overhead bulb on and I'm loading the 22. White light suddenly comes through the two windows located on the south and west sides of the woodshed. White light comes from under the woodshed doors from the outside. That's the end of the dream.

Here's the next peculiar part of the story and I have no idea whether it's connected to the UFO incident. I was not suicidal in the summer of '69, I have not been suicidal at any time in my adult life, nor am I suicidal today. I do not suffer from depression. I feel fine, thanks! A few days after seeing the object, I was home alone and cutting the backyard grass. Suddenly, with no previous suicidal thoughts, I decided to shut off the mower, go to the woodshed, load the 22 and kill myself. I exited the woodshed, with the loaded gun, walked through the house, sat in precisely the same spot on the couch as that night of the UFO visit, with the loaded 22 across my lap. My intention was to shoot myself. Fortunately, after about 30 seconds of contemplation I came to my senses. I thought, "What the heck am I doing? I'm not suicidal! Get that damn shell out of the gun! Put the gun away! This is ridiculous!" I unloaded the rifle and returned it to the woodshed.

Brian, I have some questions....as you might well imagine.

1) What was that thing flying through the sky, with no sound, in the summer of '69?

2) What has the ability to silence the critters of the forest?

3) Why was my vicious guard dog reduced to a quivering mass of terror?

4) We have all been terrified. There are certain physiological responses to fear. Increased heart rate, adrenalin pumping through your veins, shaking hands, cold sweats etc. etc. How did I retreat from all of those normal responses and return to 'calm, cool and collected' without a calming down period? (by the way, I had no sense of time loss during or after the incident)

5) Is my dream of loading the gun and seeing white light a dream? Or did it actually happen?

6) What was the reason for my suicidal thoughts and actions which occurred out of nowhere a few days after the incident? (I repeat: I'm not suicidal, nor was I when I was sixteen.)

7) During the absurd suicide event, why did I walk to the exact same spot as I ended up after I saw the UFO with the loaded gun across my lap?

I guess I'll never have the answers to those questions. By the way, Brian, I cannot be hypnotized. Just to satisfy my curiosity, I wish I could be hypnotized, to possibly further explore the events of that night so long ago, but I'm one of those people who are not open to hypnotic suggestion. Thanks for your time and keep up the good work do*****enting the observations of peculiar events of people from around the world. No, I'm not a hoaxer!! Go ahead, use my name if you wish. I truly don't care what other people think. The above mentioned events really did occur. Art

Thank you to Art for the extremely interesting report. I will be contacting Art over this experieince, also I would like to add Art gave me the OK to use his name.

Red Deer, Alberta A Lens Type Of Craft

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Spring of 1969 Time: Evening

Message: I am so glad I found you! I have been waiting nearly 40 years to report this sighting. It was the spring of 1969, at my parents' home 4 miles east of Red Deer, Alberta. My mother, my older brother and a friend of his, were outside bidding goodnight to the friend who was leaving. We were on 5 acres in the middle of farm land - virtually no light pollution. We were all in the habit of watching the sky, day and night, for weather patterns, birds, shooting stars, northern lights, and was our habit, were standing on the lawn in the soft spring darkness, admiring the stars, when one of us said 'what's that?'

We all observed, moving from the west towards us, a shape that blurred the star field as it passed. There was also a slight color change, as if the black night sky had been given a magenta wash where the shape was. It seemed immense, somehow watching it gave a feeling of hugeness - vaguely oval. It was creepy, seeing the sky ripple. This lens? stopped above us. A rectangle of light, white/pale yellow, opened in the side of this thing, and three globes, the same light, came out, descending slightly and then taking off in three directions. The door of light closed.

I don't remember the shape disappearing, only the four of us sort of shaking our heads, looking at the grass, and then going inside. There was on airbase not too far away, which my brother phoned - guess what they said it was...a weather balloon! Is that too funny or what.

Thank you to the person for the interesting report.

St. John's, New Foundland RCMP Reports UFO Hovering Over Police Vehicle

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: 1969 Time: 2:00 a.m.

Message: I was reading an article on line contained in the St. John's newspaper the Telegram about UFO's. This goes back some years when I was a member of the RCMP stationed in St. John's, NL. It would be in 1969 when another Police Officer and I were on Night Patrol just outside of St. John's at around 2:00 a.m. in the morning. It was at a little jute overlooking the ocean in Middle Cove/Outer Cove, NL area. We noted a very bright white light hovering over our police vehicle and had no idea what it was. At different times it would change colours ie bright white, than red, than green , back to white red etc. We would put our police car red light on and it would turn red.

We would put our police car's siren and whopper on and it would imitate these sounds. It would be over us one minute and than over the ocean and than back over us. We had our night desk man check with the St. John's airport to see if anything was showing up on radar , but nothing was. We played with this UFO for about 1/2 hour and as suddenly as it appeared it left . One minute it was there and than it was just a bright white beam of light leaving. It traveled out of our sight faster than one could snap ones fingers. Hope this may be of some use to you. I don't know what it was but it sure wasn't earthly, as far as I could tell or am concerned.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Handhillls Area Farm - Hanna (Southern) Alberta Large Disk With Dome

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Fall 1969 Time: Approx 10:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Handhillls area Farm - Hanna (Southern) Alberta Number of witnesses: 3 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Large Disk with Dome: bottom 3 Extremely bright lights.

Full Description of event/sighting: My mom and dad and I were driving home from my friends house late one Fall evening, when dad saw what he thought were "Poachers" on his farm lease land. Mom told him to shut off the light so they couldn't see us approach and we'd surprise them since we were headed directly at them. When we got close enough, about 500 yards away I believe the size and sight frightened my dad and he turned the lights on to be sure he was seeing, what we were seeing. When he turned on the lights the "flying/hovering machine/ship" shot straight up into the air, no visual emissions of any kind. It went straight up, and straight north with no hesitation automatically.

Flew unbelievably fast over top of the "home hill" and disappeared, or looked like it disappeared over the tree-line behind the family ranch house and was gone. I will say it was hovering when we turned the corner in front of it overtop of a slough filled with water, very low over it just above the willow tree-line around the slough and it was HUGE. It covered the whole of the area above the trees and slough and moved incredible swiftly, without effort and accurately. There were 3 huge lit lights, white blue lined extremely bright lights underneath the ship, not in a row, but triangular on the underside of the ship/vessel. When dad turned on the lights and the machine moved, dad cussed, drove like H*)(_*(ll all the way to the house. We ran inside and yelled at my older brother and sister to bring the rifles and as they did they went out behind the trees.

My mom and I stayed behind with my grandmother, who was in the house with my siblings when the ship went over. She asked if dad had run into the side of the house when he parked because there was a big vibrating sound and motion that shook the cupboards. Outside in the vehicle while driving we heard nothing, only saw. When dad and my family returned they had found, seen nothing out there. Whatever it was its gone. Dad refused ever again to discuss this, but mom and I did a great deal of believing and discussing the phenomenal experience.

I had open heart surgery at 5 years old and was told twice that because they placed a pig valve in my heart that I would be dead, and I am still alive and well. I believe in alot of things that others may view as weird, but once you have seen and experienced it makes me a believer with unshakable convictions, if that's the right word. I believe because I have seen, experienced first hand, I don't need anyone else to believe, but I am extremely pleased to have found this sight so I may share and read of others experiences. I also have been a skywatcher now since this experience. Thank you.

Thank you to the witness for the wonderful report.

Between Boston Bar and Yale, B.C. Luminous Translucent Oval Light

Posted: December 26, 2006

Date: October 1968 Time: 3:00 a.m.

The first sighting took place in the Fraser Canyon between Boston Bar and Yale in an area where the Canyon is quite deep. A friend and co-worker Les B. and I had gone on a Moose hunting trip to the Big Timothy Mountain area east of Lac la Hache BC over the thanksgiving long weekend in 1968. We saw no game during the hunt so we were determined to pack up our remote wilderness camp in the early afternoon of the last day and begin what would have been about a 9 hour drive back to Vancouver. It was a beautiful autumn day and we procrastinated going back, taking down our camp and heading out of the bush. Much to our dismay we heard the crack of a rifle shot as one of our hunting companions bagged his Moose in the late afternoon, several hours after we should have left for home.

That meant we had several more hours of back breaking work dressing out, cutting up this huge Bull Moose and packing it back to our camp and the vehicles. We had to find our way out of the bush in the dark and our delayed trip home put us in the Fraser Canyon location where we saw the UFO at about 3:00 AM (we both had to book off work that day as we were totally exhausted when we finally got home). There was no other traffic on the road at the time and as we were driving along my friend Les said "what is that strange light in the canyon below". I pulled over and we both got out and looked down into the canyon. What we saw was very strange as there seemed to be a fog or mist in the canyon and inside the fog we could make out a luminous, sort of translucent oval light source that was probably several hundred feet long and hovering above the Fraser River. The light was slowly pulsating in intensity getting brighter, then dimmer etc.

My friend and I knew that there were train tracks on either side of the canyon, the CNR on one side and the CPR on the other. We thought at first the light was the light of a train but soon realized that a train would not make a stationary pulsating light in the middle of the canyon above the river or be totally silent in the process. My friend and I also had a sense of fear as we both felt the hair on the back of our necks stand on end at the time. Les said "lets get the hell out of here" so we jumped back in the car and drove off. We never mentioned it to any of our co-workers since at the time anyone who mentioned a UFO was instantly labeled as a crackpot but we did talk about it between ourselves after the fact.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Beam Of Light Almost Blinds Man On Highway #1 - Missing Time

Posted: December 26, 2007

Started North Of Quesnel, Continued South To Yale BC

HBCC UFO Research Note: The witness who reported the below experience would like to know if anyone at the time he drove the Fraser Canyon Highway here in British Columbia on the Easter weekend in 1968 witness the same events he did. If so, would you please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike, Director of HBCC UFO Research. Thank you.

Date: Easter weekend 1968 Time: 19:00 - Midnight

Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: ? Shape of objects: ?

Full Description of event/sighting: Hi Brian, could ask if anyone might have been on the road through the Fraser Canyon at that time and possibly seen what the heck was flying over my car. Re: The possibility of missing time, I still don't know but I still think there could be up to two hours missing somewhere on that trip. I don't remember being scared but was rather apprehensive when the power died. I believe that must have happened going down Jackass Mountain. Why I didn't get killed that night I will never know.

1968 - Easter Weekend - I decided to drive the approximately 800 miles north to see a friend of mine who'd recently moved to Dawson Creek. I left Vancouver quite late and about midnight found myself driving through the mountains near Cache Creek. As I drove along the mountain crests I noticed far off in the North West a number of what appeared to be search lights playing on the clouds. At the time I thought there must be an airport over there somewhere. Later on when I checked my maps found nothing but bush and also realized that the lights I'd seen were not shining up at the clouds but down from somewhere above. Shortly after passing Cache Creek it began to snow and I ended up driving for 18 hours. I found my friend, booked into one of the Hotels in town and passed out.

She had the weekend off, so the next few days we spent touring the area. The third day I started back to Vancouver. The snow had all melted and I was cruising along about 80 mph. At sunset I was just north of Quesnel and had a large field on my right, as I passed it I noticed what appeared at first glance to be a white bird about the size of a Herring Gull, it took off from approximately 150 feet away and skimmed across the field at approximately 3 feet in the air on an interception course with my car. I stepped on the brakes and it passed through my head light beams approximately. 20 feet in front of me. It then climbed at about a 45 degree angle and shot off up into the sky. As it passed I realized it was not a bird as the wings were fixed and not flapping. My foot came down a little harder and soon I was cruising at 90 mph. Hours later I was back up in the mountains, just south of Cache Creek.

I'd not seen another car for hours and I was still rolling along about 90. All of a sudden a brilliant white light shone down on me from somewhere above. It was like the light from a flash bulb, so bright I couldn't even see my own headlights and from what I could make out appeared to be a perfect circle, perhaps several hundred feet in diameter. I floored the gas and went up to about 110 mph. but the light stayed right with me. After a minute or so the light went back out. I could feel all the hairs on the back of my neck standing up and sensed that whatever it was, was still directly over my car.

I wanted to stop and take a look, but since I was by myself and there was no other traffic I continued to keep my foot in it. About 10 minutes later the light came back on and I got the distinct impression that whoever was behind it wanted me to stop. I went even faster. Just before I reached the Kanaka Bar Restaurant the light went out again. I came around a bend and found the Restaurant right in front of me. A car had just left the restaurant and I passed him doing about 120 mph. He must have thought I was a UFO. A few miles further on I came over the crest of a mountain and could see a long steep hill in front of me with a curve at the bottom, suddenly my car lost all power and I was flying blind down the hill.

I was still doing close to 120 mph and had lost my lights, power steering, power brakes etc. I put both feet on the brake pedal and pushed as hard as I could. I couldn't see the road at all as there are tall trees on each side of the road and it was black. All I could do was try and keep the car heading straight. I kept picturing the road curving up ahead but didn't have the faintest idea how close I was or even if I could make it at the speed I was still going. Without my power assist the car didn't feel as if it was slowing the least. Just as I reached the bottom of the hill my power all of a sudden came back on. Needless to say I made the corner but didn't slow down until I reached the main Trans Canada Highway with all its traffic. I owned that car for more than five years and never before or after did I have any problems with it mechanically or electrically. The loss of power seemed to be their goodbye present as I lost that feeling that they were sitting on my roof just shortly afterwards.

I often read or see programs about people losing time during incidents similar to what I went through but don't think I was stopped. I was near Quesnel at sunset which I'd guess to be about 19:00 and hit the Trans Canada near Hope at about 02:00. I was just doing some calculations and they don't work out. Quesnel is approximately 325 miles north of Hope and at the speed I was going I should have done it in about 3.5 hrs. not 7, maybe something did happen? I sure don't recall slowing.

Years later when I first saw the movie Close Encounters it brought it all back again especially the scene where they were all up on the mountain watching the UFO approach above the clouds. When I came out of the theatre after the movie I didn't have the faintest idea where I was. Nothing seemed familiar and it took several minutes for me to figure out where I was. Several years later I asked some Police Officers if they might have had helicopters working in the Canyon at night and they said not to their knowledge. Too dangerous.

I just thought I'd mention the car I was driving at the time was a bright Red 1960 Dodge Phoenix Dart Convertible just incase anyone saw it being perused by something.

Thank you very much to the witness for the interesting report.

Oval Shaped Luminous Object Shrouded By A Mist In The Fraser Canyon, B.C.

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Thanksgiving long weekend in 1968 Time: Approx: 3:00 a.m.

Hi Brian, I just read your latest posting on Rense and found some remarkable similarities to the event of the sighting I wrote you about last year. If you recall I wrote you about returning late from a hunting trip on the Thanksgiving long weekend in 1968 with a friend who was also a witness and seeing an Oval shaped luminous object shrouded by a mist or fog hovering above the river in the Fraser Canyon between Yale and Boston Bar at about 3:00 AM. We were late coming home from a hunting trip from the Cariboo when our attention was drawn to the strange light coming from the darkness of the canyon below us so we pulled over to investigate. We did not have a time loss but did both have a sense of fear after a few minutes and decided to get the heck out of there. Regards.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Goose Air Base, Labrador UFO Follows KC-135 Aircraft While Landing

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Late September 1967 Time: N/A

Message: In 1967-68 I was stationed at Goose Air Base, Labrador. I worked in Base Headquarters. During the lunch hour, I didn't eat, because I was trying to lost some weight. I sat in the Base Commander's office to answer the phone while he and his Secretary went to lunch. I always read through the "Commander's Read File" while I was there.

In late September 1967, a KC-135 was landing, and a UFO was picked up by radar, following the aircraft. It went behind the aircraft as it touched down, then went over the top of the aircraft until it turned off the active runway. Then, it stopped dead still and went straight up at an estimated speed of 17,000 MPH. It was seen as a bright light by men in the tower, and was on the radar of the Radar Station on top of a mountain near the base.

I never heard or read any other reports of this incident.

Thank you to the retired serviceman for this very interesting and important information. I am looking into this report.

Kitimat, British Columbia Strange Events

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: 1967 Time: Approx: 7:30 p.m.

I was 17 at the time and lived in Kitimat with my Grandparents. One night in 1967, me and 2 friends of mine were walking along the outskirts of Kitimat. It was snowing that evening and was about 7:30 PM. We then heard this "beeping" noise. It was very distinctive and appeared to be coming from the woods off to our left.

We listened for about 15 minutes and were sure that this thing was very strange! In the meantime a crowd of people who were in the area, also heard the beeping and gathered where we were standing.

This audio was so bizarre that it caused about 50 people to stop and listen to it. In about 20 minutes 2 local RCMP Officers showed up. They too listened to these strange sounds.

These RCMP Officers decided that all of the people present would break up into 2 groups and proceed into the bush. There was a large gully that went down the area that we wanted to go and that is why the RCMP Officers decided to split the group up into 2 groups,,,,one on each side of the raven!! One RCMP Officer with each group.

I was part of one of those groups and we all proceeded into the bush! It was the dead of winter for Kitimat and there was alot of snow in the bush!! It was so high that it was up to our waists, but we waded through it for about a hundred yards.

Then all of us in my group saw a blue light coming from the bush in front of us! We could not tell how close or far it was from us! It was like a "blue glow" emanating from the forest!

We all saw it, commented on it, and proceeded towards it. The consensus of my group at the time was that it was a UFO. Remember that we were hearing this beeping noise and now we are seeing this strange blue glowing thing!! all of a sudden we heard 3 gunshots in quick reports!

My group and RCMP Officer decided to get out of the bush and get back to the road, we did so pronto. None of us looked back.

We got out to the road and there were about 250 people gathered at the road. Other Kitimat citizens had heard the beeping noise, gunshots, and the ruckus around it. Shortly thereafter. the other group came out with their RCMP Officer in the lead.

Everyone wanted to know what happened and what was with the gunshots? The RCMP Officer stated that his group proceeded along the raven towards the "beeping" noise.

Then at one point they felt that they were in danger and the RCMP Officer fired his weapon at an object high up in a huge fir tree! He was as white as a ghost and was obviously shaken. He insinuated that he saw something up in the tree that made him fire off three rounds!

Of course,,the local and British Columbia media picked up on this story. The most bizarre part of this story was the "electronic beeping" noise that continued to come from the forest for many weeks after this incident.

No-one could isolate the beeping and it seemed to keep changing it's location from night to night. Me and a few of my friends rounded up some walkie-talkies one day and proceeded into the area to try and isolate the audio.

We would get close to it ,,,and then it would disappear to another part of the forest. Then when the BC media caught onto the story, a whole bunch of electronic scientists and UFO hunters got involved.

A number of audio scientists came up from Vancouver and recorded the noise. In the meantime, the Kitimat Village Indians got into the fray, the were laughing at all of the scientists and UFO types.

The Kitimat Village Indians and other Indians in the area state that the audio was of a very special and rare "owl!"

They went on to say that this owl was rare and that they were aware of it for many generations of Kitimat residents.

The "electronic Experts" that came up from Vancouver were absolutely positive that the audio was "electronic!" I heard it, and I thought that it was "electronic!"

Of course this story just died off quickly, and is relegated to the dusty files in the vault!

Brian, maybe you could research it through the Kitimat Sentinel? This would have been during the later months of 1967 and maybe the first few months of 1968? Maybe the Sentinel has an article on this?

Keep on keeping on, great work that you are doing! I never stopped in Houston for long? Seems to me that we ate at some sort of fabulous cafe the last time I was through there. I remember getting a "Deluxe Burger and Fries!

Gotta go, but keep in touch, and did you say that you were able to spend most of your time to the BF subject? Does that mean that you are retired in Houston? That has to be heaven on earth!

Thank you to the witness for the wonderful report.

1966 Fraser Canyon, British Columbia UFO Sighting

Posted: December 26, 2007

In 1966, finding myself alone, except for the family cat, Caboodle, after the family breakup and ultimate divorce, I traveled up the Fraser Canyon to a small village of Lillooet, two hundred road miles north of Vancouver, BC.

My former C.O. from my Army days, (name deleted by HBCC) lived in a mobile home and worked with (name deleted) on her Bridge River - Lillooet News. I joined them, and having spent a month living over The News Office with (name deleted), I learned I could rent a dandy suite overlooking the Fraser River canyon.

The sliding doors opened onto a wide sun deck. The P.G.E. rails were just beyond the fence at the end of the lot. When the 110 - car freights rumbled by I was face to face with the engineers. I used to try to list the many boxcars, the rolling stock of railroads from all over North America in those pre computer days. At nights no lights shone from the few homes scattered on the bench land below, on the other side of the tracks. The highway connecting Lillooet with the outside world was on the far side of the river. Came the darkness the valley was pitch black except for the odd set of headlights of cars traveling into town. There was no road on the mountainside which loomed up on the town side of the canyon.

One winter Friday night my friend (name deleted) had walked over for a visit. The folks in the adjoining suite had the TV on for the Dean Martin Show which aired at 9:00 p.m. (name deleted) relaxed in an easy chair from which she could see out through the sliding doors.

I sat opposite on the chesterfield, too far back to share her view. As we chattered, she suddenly, turned her head, and staring out through the glass door, exclaimed in a sharp voice, "What's that ?" I jumped up quickly to share her excitement and immediately saw a huge red swirling ball with flaring red orange flaming edges coming towards us from above the west side mountain.

Grabbing the glass door catch I shouted "let's get out onto the deck !" which we did. As we stood side by side, we watched the whirling fire-ball hurdle towards us, so fast that we both ducked down, putting our hands on our heads as we truly expected to be hit as it crashed upon us. But, as we crouched and watched, the thing hovered "just above the mountainside" so to speak, spinning and flaring, to right, to left, to right again, for a few seconds. It hesitated on the final jerk to the right, then in erratic short jumps, still spinning and flaring, it began to recede, grow smaller, to nothing, back into the sky from whence it had come.

We returned to the room, quite shaken up, and (name deleted) snapped, "Exactly what did we see ?"

I put into words much as I have in this account, using my extended arm to describe the movement "Exactly ?" she snapped.

Being Friday night with everything closed for the weekend, we had no way of finding out if anyone else had shared the sight. The News was being printed, not in Lillooet, but in Fort St. John at Ma'sson Dan's newspaper shop, so nothing was "of the moment" news wise.

By the time the weekend was over the folks were back on the job, we felt rather foolish in speaking of our UFO encounter. had we not have rushed to the sun deck, causing us to be physically involved, had we just focused and seen it with our own sight, we may well have pondered if we had seen it at all.

I recall when I saw the movie "Strange Encounter" some years back I thought the UFO props were not nearly as exciting as what (name deleted) and I had shared on that Friday night in Lillooet, B.C.

So here in 1993, having watched a TV program on UFO sightings I am moved to record the event while sound of mind with 20-20 vision, from my notes written in 1996.

Thank you to the wonderful lady who shared her story with me. Marathon, Ontario Spinning UFO With Colored Lights Making A Humming Sound

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: 1966 or 1967 ? Time: Evening

The strange thing is that when I was about 10 years old I lived in Marathon Ontario, which is about 2 1/2 hours from Thunder Bay Ontario and I experienced a UFO at that time. My mother had sent me to get sugar from my sisters up the street. I had gone on my bike to get it and on the way back down the street I heard a sound like a humming sound. When I looked up it was right over me. It had different colored lights and was spinning. I was extremely frightened and when I got home and screamed to my mother & brother to come out and see it. By the time they came out it was already over Penn Lake. I know that quite a few people had also seen it that night. That was about 1966 or 1967.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Windsor, Ontario Sighting - Connected To The Kecksberg UFO Crash

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: December 1965

Hi Brian, For what it's worth this is my two cents on Kecksberg. At the time it was locally reported as a meteorite that landed out in the country near by.

Although that spectacular image had a great influence on my life and my work as a sculptor, I still use that "meteoric" image in my work to this day, It was not until many years later after watching a television program about the Kecksberg Incident that I realized that this was what I had witnessed that night.

I was a teenager recently finished high school, living in Windsor in southern Ontario.

I was walking west on Ottawa street which was lit up with brightly coloured neon signs, that in contrast made the clear sky look dark with only a few stars twinkling. This was like no meteor that I have ever seen, the object did not pass directly over head so what I saw was that for several seconds the entire night sky lit up with a golden hue that you might see at twilight. The whole sky was filled with a golden light as if by a rheostat and the single small cloud that was over head lit up pink. There was no sound and after all this time it is hard to estimate how long it lasted perhaps less than ten seconds as the object passed over and the sky dimmed back to dark again.

This sort of unexpected phenomena tends to leave you awe struck, then like a Twilight Zone experience it was just gone.

Additional Information:

Brian, Thanks for your prompt reply, yes it was definitely December 1965. I recall because I had just finished high school.

I know for a fact that a lot of people in Windsor saw it that night and the subject still comes up. As I mentioned it had a very profound effect on me right up to this day. After seeing that program about Kecksberg I went to bed and had a dream that I was in a meadow where it landed. It was not as big as the actual object, in the dream when I walked up it was sitting in a steaming crater and I shocked awake, I got up and drew a picture of what I saw. The dream was Dec 26 1993, I have always written them down. I then made a piece of sculpture of the object I saw in that dream.

Thank you so much to the witness for yet another report on the object seen by many that came down in Kecksberg, PA in December 1965.

HBCC UFO Research would love to hear from anyone who witnessed the object over Canada or in the United States on December 1965. The more information we can receive, the better it is and really does help on such a large case.

East Of Alymer, Ontario More Witnesses To The Kecksberg Object

Posted: January 9, 2007

Date: December 26, 1965

After seeing the Kecksberg UFO show on the Sci-Fi channel , I wondered what took so long to get this to the publics attention. On December 9, 1965, my sisters and I were playing with the neighbors across the highway in southern Ontario, just east of Alymer. It was just after supper, then as we were playing it turned to day time for about 4 seconds. When I looked up I thought the sun had fell out of the sky. It looked like the sun streaking across the sky for the few seconds I had seen it, and then it turned dark again. I had unobstructed view of the horizon to the south, and to this day I had thought it just landed in Lake Erie. I always thought it was a comet until I seen the television show about it. Five of us seen it, ages ranging from 7 to 14 years of age. If you would like more information, contact me through e-mail.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Windsor, Ontario A Large Orange-Red Fireball Witnessed

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: December 9, 1965 Time: Late afternoon/early evening.

Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Fireball/round.

Full Description of event/sighting: It was early evening and I was 12 years old. I was on Assumption street in Windsor Ontario walking west when I saw a large orange-red fireball streak across the sky. It appeared fairly low to me, and was headed from the southwest toward the northeast. I was certain that it was going to crash in the city of Detroit and it scared the life out of me. I ran to my friend's house and he had seen it as well. It terrified us both.

I have learned (in the last couple of days) that this sighting is associated with something called Kecksburg, but I've been reluctant to tell anyone about what I saw because it didn't seem to be travelling in the right direction for it to be Kecksburg. However, I am absolutely positive of the direction of my sighting.

Thank you very much to the witness for the report.

Mattagami River - South Of James Bay, Northern Ontario Saucer Shaped Craft

Posted: December 26, 2006

Date: November 23 1963 Time: 10:00 a.m

It was 10:00 a.m., November 23, 1963, a cold but bright and sunny morning. Robert and I had walked to school, as we did everyday to find the school closed. A teacher was there and informed us that there would be no classes today in honor of President Kennedy, who had been assassinated the previous day. Robert suggested that we walk over to his house to find something to do.

At the time we were living in a temporary construction community 80 miles south of James Bay, Northern Ontario on the Mattagami River. Three hydroelectric power dams were being built on the river and our fathers were working on the project. There were roads from one dam to the next for hauling men and material and no roads to the outside world. Everything was delivered by train from the town of Kapuskasing, 60 miles south of us.

We arrived at Robert's place and sat on the back step, which faced west. Robert decided to go in and get his guitar that his older brother had been teaching him to play. As we sat there with Robert strumming away I looked up and across the road. There was a single lane dirt road behind Robert's place about 15 feet wide. Next was a ditch about the same width and after that a wide, two lane road for hauling equipment referred to as the Smokey Falls Road. It was about 60 feet wide and on the opposite side of that, another 15 foot wide ditch and then 100 feet to the tree line. The trees are small up there consisting of thin, wispy pines in groves and between the groves, moss and tundra. From where we sat, to the first grove of trees opposite to us would be 70 to 75 yards.

I never heard or noticed it arriving, but there it was just sitting there, about 10 feet higher than the tallest tree in the first grove, which would put it 30 feet off the ground. I jabbed Robert with my elbow and pointed. We just sat there in silence watching it, as it was watching us. It was huge, with the diameter being half the distance from us to the tree line, so about 30 yards. From top to bottom at the center the dimension was at least and maybe greater than the height of the trees, 6 or 7 yards in thickness. It appeared to be constructed of dull aluminum and was shaped like a saucer with the exception that the top and bottom halves did not join in a sharp edge. All the way around the center it looked like dark windows, 6 feet tall. As Robert and I watched, the craft tilted with the closest side to us down and the rear of the saucer up. It appeared that whoever was inside was trying to get a better look at us. It shifted back down to its original position and then drifted at low speed to the west and behind the trees. The total observation time was probably one minute, although it seemed longer at the time.

That was the last we saw of the saucer, but not the last of the saucer. The construction project went on 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and two or three nights after the encounter Robert and I had, my father received a phone call at home. I recall him being so angry as he grabbed the keys for the company truck and headed out. Construction workers need light to work by when the sun goes down and Dad had electricians running the diesel powered lighting plants. Three electricians had just walked off the job and refused to return claiming that they had come under attack by a low flying saucer. One of the electricians claimed to have thrown a hammer at the saucer as it took a low pass at him and according to him, he hit it.

Dad radioed for another crew to take over the position and was driving the electricians back to the construction camp but had to stop often as one of the fellows was violently sick. The next morning the sick fellow went to the clinic and the doctor and nurses applied cream and then bandaged him top to bottom to sooth and cover his burned, blistered skin. It was the talk of the town for awhile as folks puzzled over getting that bad of sunburn while fully clothed, working the night shift.

There was no blinking, flashing light in some corner of a dark sky. This was a saucer, up close and personal. On the few occasions that I've discussed it with others over the last 40 plus years and I've offered this example. Let's say it's a very clear, very bright day and you look across the street to see a school bus parked 75 yards away. More than likely, you could very accurately describe it.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Woodlawn (Ottawa), Ontario Object Came Together And Lit Up The Area

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: 1963 or 1964 Time: Between 10:00 p.m. and Midnight.

Location of Sighting: Just west of Ottawa along the Ottawa River Number of witnesses: 6 to 8 Number of objects: 5 Shape of objects: No bigger than stars to begin with.

Full Description of event/sighting: Well, this was quite a while ago and it seems that everyone who was there had a slightly different account. So here is mine.

Like I mentioned above this was around 1963 or 64 so I would have been 14 or 15 years old. It was summer, well after sunset. I remember that my parents were out so it was just us teenagers out in the back yard cooling out over the Ottawa River. You know talking and goofing around as teens do. It was not cloudy and there was no moon so all the stars were visible.

I can't remember who exactly noticed at first, but it was mentioned that a star had moved and then come to a stop. What? yea sure was the general reaction, but we all stared upwards and began looking. Sure enough there was movement and stoppage again and we all began to see this. Then it was noticed that there was another, which we all at the time thought were just stars until they moved and stopped.

Over a bit of time we managed to count at least five of these objects doing the same. I remember at first these were all pretty well high up in the sky. Then they began to get further apart over time in their movements and moved down closer to the horizon and out over the river. All this time staying the same in size and no brighter than your average star. There was no sound that we could hear, so all this had us fairly fascinated. Move and stop, move and stop, all of us trying to figure out what we were looking at. After perhaps half an hour or so watching, I recall two of these moving closer together out over the river to the north west. This is when it really got interesting because these two objects came together and as they appeared to touch they lit up the entire area. Not like it was daylight but I remember it was like a huge and very bright flood lamp.

Bright and white. This also gave me an idea as to how far away it was from us. The direction we were looking was towards where there is an island and that particular island was known to us at the time as Six Mile Island. It was named this because of the distance it was from where I lived and grew up at the time. Its real name is Aylmer Island. So this illumination was at least six miles from us because it lit up the island on the river and the opposite side of the river just behind the island and everything in front of it, the river and towards us.

It did not remain lit up for very long, but long enough to scare the heck out of all of us. I remember all who were there, me included, giving out a yelp and running like scared rabbits for the house. Wondering what this was all about we began to make some phone calls and of course never got any satisfactory answers. The call we made to the Ottawa airport was the most interesting when we were told that there were helicopters out waiting for some special cargo plane from Toronto. We had explained what we saw and that these made no sound at all, but that was there answer to us. As I said at the beginning we all seemed to have slightly varied accounts. My sisters account was the most interesting though because she said she did not remember when the two came together and illuminated the whole area. I must say, I have been interested in watching the skies ever since and have seen some curious things, most much more recently. That's this story as I remember it.

Thank you to the witness for the interesting report.

Mayerthorpe, Alberta Farmer Plowing Field Observes Object And Beings In 1954

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Fall of 1954 Time: Approx: 10:30 p.m.

Hi Brian, I will interpret the letter that my dad wrote.

In the Fall of 1954 while plowing the field (n.e. 1/4 section of land at junction of hwys 18 & 22) (land location s.w. 16-58-8 west of 5th) I observed an object that was lit up about 500 feet in the air. It was real dark that night in October 1954, at about 10:30pm. The stars were out and no clouds. On completion of the full round (plowing) and after turning the tractor around, I drove up on the hill and stopped and the light was still there. I got off the tractor and rolled a cigarette, then shut off the tractor and the lights and stood there waiting.

That's when I seen a human like object walk across past 3 bars resembling windows (vertical type) and about 5 seconds later it moved southward and the lights went out and it was gone. (Removed other witnesses name) who was about 1/2 mile south plowing also seen the object. There was no sound of any kind from the object while sitting up there or when it moved away.

I spoke with my dad tonight and he mentioned that the light coming from the object was very bright, but did not hurt your eyes the way bright headlights do. Dad said he was less than 1/4 mile from the object when he stopped the tractor to watch it. He also said that (name removed) did not see the object (as in his original letter) but (name removed) did. We do not know if (name removed) is still alive as he moved away from there a few years ago. My dad said he would be happy to talk to you so call him at the number below. (Removed the telephone number)

PDF Format, Make sure you use the zoom-in option to view the diagram and letter. Also keep in mind when viewing. Also I will be calling the gentleman to have a talk with him over what he saw back in 1954.

Thank you to the person for the really interesting report.

Burnaby, B.C. Three Disc Shaped Craft

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: August 1952 Time: 2:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 3 plus Number of objects: 3 Shape of objects: Round flattened.

Full Description of event/sighting: My husband and I saw the children looking up at the sky and went to check. It was bright daylight and directly over our head were 3 disc shaped craft close together and stationary. They appeared metallic, whitish grey and there were no windows, lights or other attachments.

My husband was a former wireless air gunner and he estimated them to be about 500 feet up and about fifty feet in diameter. They looked like a large Frisbee but they were solid, thick and had a rounded edge. We watched then for about fifteen minutes. We had no camera. Suddenly they started to move straight up at a terrific speed but at an angle and we watched then until they were a small speck in the cloudless sky. I have read about a lot of strange lights at night but this was unmistakable. We were directly beneath them so we could not see their upper side. Just the underneath. There were dozens of calls to the police to report it but the Government put a blackout on the reports.

Thank you to the eyewitness for the interesting report.

Confederation Park, Burnaby, B.C. Late 1930s UFO Sighting

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Late 1930s Time: Summer afternoon.

Location of Sighting: Confederation Park, Burnaby, B.C. Number of witnesses: 3 Number of objects: 2 Shape of objects: Round balls of fire.

Full Description of event/sighting: A friend who is in his late 70s told me this story today. He said that when he was 10 or 11 years old, he and two friends (now deceased) were playing in the bush in Confederation Park in Burnaby, that would make it the summer of 1937 or 1938. He said he and his friends heard a roaring sound and he ran out of the trees to Willingdon Avenue and saw two streaks of smoke in the sky coming from the east parallel to the ground and at a fairly low altitude. As the smoke trails got closer he saw two round balls of fire at the head of the trails. Suddenly the two fireballs roared like a rocket straight up at a ninety degree angle and disappeared into a clear blue sky. He said that today he would compare them to jets, but of course there were no jets back then. He still remembers the incident even after the amount of time that has transpired.

Thank you to the person for relating the sighting to me.

Fort Nelson, British Columbia 3 Round Large Balls Of Light Levitating

Posted: December 25, 2007

Date: September 15, 1996
Time: Approx: 11:30 p.m.

It was about 11:30 pm, A friend and I were on our way to attend a collage course in B.C.. We saw what looked like 3 round large balls of light levitating in the air.The biggest one was on top,it looked like it was very hot in color, a very bright white, the next one was under that one and it looked like the color of fire yellow, then the next one was under that one, it looked like it was fire red/yellow. All three were equally spaced apart what looked like about 30 to 60 feet apart. The biggest one looked to be about 50 to 60 feet in diameter, the next one down was about 35 to 25 feet in diameter, and the small one was the closest one to the ground, it looked to be about 15 to 20 feet in diameter and was about 60 feet off the ground.

They all just hung in the air with no sound, but very bright. As I drove faster to get closer to them, I got about 200 ft from them and they all just disappeared. As we drove further, we seen what looked like a very large white oval light ahead of us maybe 1/4 mile. I then stopped the car, turned off the car lights, and shut off the car as not to disturb whatever it was.My friend and I watched it for about 5 min. then it started to move very slow but started to go faster and started to pickup speed. Then it took off real fast and left a long trail behind that looked like the same shape and it stayed white for some time. It looked like what your hand would look like as you passed it in front of you fast.We drove to Watson Lake and reported it to the R.C.M.P. as a UFO sighting. My friend is a Pentecostal Minister for 20 years, he is about 54 years old, and I am 52 years old myself now. All the round balls were glowing like a electric welder, "a pulsating-light."

Thank you to the witness for their report. If anyone else witnessed this back in 1996 would you please be kind enough to let HBCC UFO Research know, plus the witness would like to know as well.

Richmond, British Columbia Lights In The Sky

Posted: December 23, 2007

Date: December 20, 2007
Time: Evening.

HBCC UFO Research Note: The below report came in to me through the submissions portion of the website, which leaves the eyewitness anonymous even to myself, so I do not have the witnesses email address to reply to them.

My co worker and I were getting off work warming are vehicles when I noticed a very bright light in a clear sky. I told my coworker too look and he seen it too. The light would come on for five seconds then go out. Then the light appeared in a different part of the sky then went out. Then it appeared again in a different place, went out and that was it. I have never seen nothing like it. I have lived around the airport in Richmond just about my whole life and I know it was no plane or helicopter. The only reason I left this message is I was watching the "Island A News" and they had someone on there that took pictures and videos of lights in the sky that looked the same, so I tried too find it on the internet and found this site.

Thank you to the witness for their report.
