Orange Vertical Light Appears In The Sky Over South Cooking Lake Alberta (Update)

Date:  October 15, 2012
Time:  11:00 p.m.

I was driving home from my boyfriends house in South Cooking Lake going north on Range Road 223 at 11:00 p.m. on October 15, 2012 and an orange vertical light appeared directly above and in front of me.

It  appeared suddenly and faded and then grew brighter and so on. I stopped to get out and look at it/take a picture, but my phone couldn't capture it.

The weird thing about it is that it looked almost like the sky was split open and light was shining through it.

It did not move, just grew dim and then light again. As soon as I thought I was right under it, it just disappeared. There was absolutely no moon tonight as well and I was hoping someone could offer an explanation.

Update Over Sighting:

Edmonton Alberta vertical orange colored light seen by a number of folks on October 15, 2012 who filed reports to The Vike Factor.

With the help of a visitor to the Vike Factor, the orange vertical light most likely was flaring from a gas drilling rig/company.

Orange Light In The Sky Over Edmonton Alberta (Update)

Date:  October 15, 2012
Time:  Evening.

Hi there, I seen a orange light in the sky above the Edmonton, Alberta today (October 15, 2012).

It looked like a long haze of light and moving slowly.

I went in my house and grab my pro camera, but it was gone already. I waited for about 5 minutes, but nothing showed up. I took few long exposure shots, but still no light.

It happened very quickly. I was looking up for the Aurora level which is not even near Edmonton Aurora activities.

It was weird and I wish I could see it again, while my camera in my hand.

Another Witness To The Green Object Seen Over Connaught Ontario

Time:  Approx: 9:00 p.m.

A coworker of mine lives out in Cannaught area. She seen the same green orb. Said it disappeared somewhere in the trees. I also have seen alot of activity in the Timmins skies as of lately.

I have seen what looks to be shooting stars. only they are not falling, but seemingly travelling from star to star.

4 Or 5 Red Lights Flew Over Ontario Canada

Time:  Evening.

Saw five or four red lights moving around last night while I was taking garbage out at work. Went back in to get my friend to come out and it sudden gone.

It didn't look like anything made here on earth.

Bright Orange Lights Over Burlington Ontario (Chinese/Wish Lanterns)

Date:  October 12, 2012
Time:  8:30 p.m.

I was returning to Burlington, driving down the escarpment and saw the same bright lights. This is the second time I have witnessed such a sighting in the area.

As the other witness explains, it was a clear night and there were several aircraft in the vicinity, travelling along a normal path at normal altitude, with normal size lights.

These  objects were much larger, brighter, rounder and travelled an unusual path. Very unusual.

Vike Factor Note: I have received a number of reports of orange colored lights that were seen above or around Burlington Ontario.

All the lights were seen on October 12, 2012. The lights have turned out to be Chinese/Wish lanterns, which were let go in Geraldo's at LaSalle Park in Burlington Ontario by a wedding party.

Orange Lights Seen Over Geraldo's At LaSalle Park Burlington Ontario (Chinese/Wish Lanterns)

Date:  October 12, 2012
Time:  Approx: 9:00 p.m.

Hi, my cousin got married at Geraldo's at LaSalle Park in Burlington Ontario at approximately 9:00 p.m. time, they released Chinese Lanterns which were very exciting to see.

They light the bottoms on fire and then hold them until they fill with hot air. They were about 3 feet tall and it took a while for the party to fill their lanterns as it was a colder night.

3 were released at almost the same time, they twirled together as they got higher in the sky. We were all quite surprised at how high they got and they moved in interesting patterns and then one flamed out and dove off to one side.

It could have looked like something darting away. We have video of it, but it is so hard to see after they are released as the camera had a hard time focusing on the little lights as they assented.

After the three that twirled together, 2 more were released so they were down below the others. When they flamed out, we could watch the lanterns fall slowly. They are made of cardboard and are biodegradable so they do not harm nature.

I would definitely do this sort of thing for a party, but understand how as they get higher in the sky, people who don't know an event is happening would be surprised to see orbs of light in the sky with no sound.
