Hi Brian, How are you? My son call me from his cell this evening at around 6:05 pm from his car, He and his girlfriend saw two very shiny objects in the sky and it appeared that all of a sudden all this dark smoke developed and they didn't see the objects again. They were just around the corner So they grabbed me and my camera, This is all I got. It's the dark smoke you see in the middle of the sky.
We then turned around to go home and as we started to drive a little further I saw something flying very fast leaving a dark trail behind it. I'm sending 2 more pictures of that But you can't see the object it appeared to be flying way to fast, although it did leave a trail. The direction was in the NW sky and I am NW of Toronto. Thanks Again, Your the Best!
Additional Information:
The dark smoke near the tree on the left and the trail is in the centre near the top of the tree's. Hope you can get something out of this. I'm just glad my son and his girlfriend saw it, because he's a real skeptic and maybe just a little afraid. Though I think after hearing what they had to say makes me think he's finally getting it. I almost felt like they didn't think that I believed them!
I thought I should tell you that (name removed) (Son's girlfriend) said, 'It looked like something was on fire in the sky and then the smoke developed.' Plus, the smoke was in the sky for at least 10 min. before I noticed the fast object in the other two photo's.
Thank you to the witnesses for the very interesting report and photos.

Cochrane, Alberta A Long Bright Shape Hanging In The Sky
Posted: January 23, 2008
Date: February 21, 2007 Time: 6:00 p.m.
Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Rectangular.
Full Description of event/sighting: While driving west on Griffin Road in Cochrane I looked up at the clear blue sky and saw a long bright shape hanging in the sky. At first I thought it was a cloud reflecting the sun so I pulled over and watched it for a few minutes. It never moved and didn't dissipate like a small cloud would. I have no idea what it was and am curious if anyone else in the Calgary area saw this thing as well. Thanks.
Thank you to the witness for their report.

Whitby, Ontario Three Oval Shaped UFOs
Posted: January 23, 2008
Date: February 16, 2007 Time: 11:40 a.m.
Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 3 Shape of objects: Oval
Full Description of event/sighting: I was on the phone when I looking up to the blue sky and I noticed three oval shaped UFOs traveling in formation heading west. Two of the UFOs split up and traveled south and the other one traveled west. Within five to seven seconds they disappeared. They were traveling faster than any jets I've seen at any show. They were approximately 5000 feet high, and approximately the size of a school bus. I paused for 5 to 7 seconds and apologized to my customer.
Thank you to the witness for the report.

Churchill, Manitoba Object Travels Around Erratically Then Shot Straight Up
Posted: January 23, 2008
Date: February 7, 2007 Time: 4:25 p.m.
Location of Sighting: North West sky Number of witnesses: 5 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Disc/roundish.
Full Description of event/sighting: I was leaving work, which is the local airport. I saw something that I assumed to be a aircraft on final approach break through the clouds and 3 white lights were end to end on it. Since I was expecting an aircraft to land at 17:00 I assumed it to be a little early and wasn't surprised when it was headed in my general direction because the airport runway was behind me. I kept driving into town and finally noticed this light to the left of me, it was very bright white so I thought maybe it's a plane or a star. But it almost seemed to be following alongside me, it was on my left and appeared to be heading up the river. I was still wondering out loud what the hell the plane was doing and where it was going. As I got closer to town I slowed down and watched it, that is when I noticed the different color lights. I felt sick suddenly realizing what I could be seeing, I drove to my parents house to get them.
My dad was home so he and I drove down towards the river, we hadn't even started out drive when he spotted it between all the houses. He was so excited telling me to hurry, we arrived at the river and it was still there. It's colors were rapidly changing from red to blue to orange and bright white. It looked like the light would slowly die out then suddenly it would get really large and bright. We went to 2 different houses at the river and everyone watched it, it traveled in irregular patterns, it also looked like it was taking pictures because of a bright flash that also came from it. (that happened twice)
Everyone who seen this in the dusk sky seen it appear again 3 days later and this time it flew around erratically then shot straight up into the sky. That's a lie, this time my mom seen it.
Thank you to the witness for the report.

Stratford, Ontario A Glowing UFO Moving Erratically
Posted: January 23, 2008
Date: Early February, 2007. Time: 11:00 a.m.
Location of Sighting: Near centre of city of Stratford. Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Spherical.
Full Description of event/sighting: While sitting in a parked car saw very bright glowing orb moving erratically for three minutes or more. Appeared to move short distances east and west, then gain and lose elevation.
Object perhaps 10 ft across from my ability to determine given distance from me. I could see detail of the outline/shape of the object fairly clearly. It was brighter than high beams on a car. It looked to be the size of a large pea while held at arm's length. It was smooth and spherical. It did not appear to be too distant from me, as the cloud cover was very low that day- perhaps 700ft. Moved in and out of very low cloud cover. Glow was unvarying and white. Moved from north central sky toward north east sky at end. There is a major power line directly under the area. Speed varied from hovering to a very fast exit.
Had time to get out of car and look for husband to verify sighting but could not attract his attention in a local store, unfortunately. Would describe self as university educated skeptic...not my idea to report this sighting because it's a little out of my comfort zone of "normal". Unable to explain object given my experience.
Thank you to the witness for the report.

British Columbia Scoop Mark And Pea Sized Object Removed
Posted: January 21, 2008
Hello Brian, Mother - When I was around 12 years old, I woke up one morning with what people call a "scoop mark". It's only on my left leg and I have no idea how it got there. It is a perfect circle which dips down a bit, and is about the size of a large pea.
I will add also that there is a lot to this story and we hope one day soon we will receive more details as to what has taken place over the years.
About 11 months ago, my 18 year old son came to visit me for a few days from (deleted by HBCC UFO). A couple of days into the visit, he woke up in the morning and went to have his morning shower. As he was walking into the bathroom (wearing only shorts), I noticed to my horror that he had a perfect 4"x4"x4" triangular mark on his back, and inside this triangle were all these perfectly round red marks about the size of a pencil eraser. He said that he felt no pain, but that it was kind of itchy-burning feeling.
We went to the walk in clinic to have a doctor look at it, but the doctor did not have any idea what this could be, or what may have caused it. She had never seen anything like it before. It disappeared about 4 days later.
Another strange cir*****stance that goes along with this story is the fact that the same morning of this event, the tree outside the bedroom window where my son had slept, (the leaves were yellow like they had been slightly burnt or something).
This is also the same son at 9 years old who woke up with a hole in his spine that was a bit smaller than a dime. It took us about 3 months of antibiotics to get rid of the infection. This hole was so deep, that you could actually see the bone. The doctor had no explanation for this injury. All my son remembers was being woken up by a loud, scary, "BEEP-BEEP" sounds.
Mother - A couple of weeks ago I was on the phone talking to a friend, my daughter expressed a pain that she was suddenly feeling in her nose area. I watched in disbelief as a "white scoop mark" was quickly appearing there, right before my eyes. I could not believe what was happening. It disappeared a couple of days later. Since then she has had at least 6 nose bleeds. We no longer bother to have a doctor examine us when things happen, since they never seem to have any answers for us anyway, or maybe it is that they are afraid of what these injuries and events might implicate, who knows? (HBCC UFO Note: I do have the picture of the young lady, and the white mark which appeared on her nose. You cannot miss it. I have decided not to post this picture as it gives the identify of the young lady).
These are just a few of the medical anomalies that have happened to the children and I over the last few years. There is so much more, but I think I have taken up enough of your time for now. Thank you for your support, I really appreciate it. In writing this letter, I am hoping that maybe you will have some answers for us, or that at least we may find out that we are not alone with all this. That maybe others out there are experiencing the same type of things. I would really appreciate some feed back from you, if you have the time.
Take care of you, and I look forward to speak with you again.
Sincerely, (name deleted by HBCC UFO).
HBCC UFO Note: I would always recommend that if anyone shows these types of problems on their bodies, or any other for that matter. Please do seek medical advise. It is for your own safely and let us hope some answers can or will be found.
Thank you to the witness for the report.

The Sky's The Limit

TERRACE’S reputation as B.C.’s UFO capital is creating a new kind of tourism boom in the region. Curious travellers from across North America are inquiring about the tourism facilities in communities across Highway 16, including Terrace, says a UFO researcher based in Houston, B.C.
“You would be surprised just how many emails I get over the months requesting information for our areas,” says Brian Vike, editor of Canadian Communicator, a magazine specializing in the paranormal, and director of HBCC-UFO Research.
Earlier this year, Terrace cracked the top 10 in a national UFO survey, earning third place, just ahead of Houston, where Vike operates a toll-free UFO hotline so he can collect and investigate eye-witness reports.
Terrace recorded the third highest number of UFO sightings in the country last year, bringing national and international attention to the region, Vike says. The resulting publicity means the northwest is rapidly emerging as one of the best places to see UFOs in Canada.
Savvy tourists know they’re more likely to see a flying saucer than the elusive Kermode bear, the white form of a black bear that is the city’s official symbol.
Vike says he’s often contacted by UFO buffs and the just plain curious who want to know about the region’s tourist attractions and accommodations.
“Many have never been up this way,” Vike says. “So I give them the lowdown on what our communities have.”
He tells them about camp sites in the area, the excellent hiking, fishing and boating opportunities here, the beautiful scenery and the range of wildlife.
“As a matter of fact, I receive so many emails, I was going to put up a page on my website which would give information to tourists on what we have.”
Vike says 2003 is shaping up to be another record year for UFO sightings in the skies over Terrace, where 25 sightings were recorded last year, suggesting more national and international attention could be on its way. “Right now Terrace has darn near caught up to last year’s total count for sightings,” he says.
UFO-related tourism is a growing market in the rest of the world.
Vulcan, a town of 1,700 in southern Alberta that’s home to a replica starship and a tourist information centre built to look like a space station, isn’t the only place cashing in on its Sci Fi cachet.
St. Paul, Alberta was out of the gate back in 1967, when it built the world’s first UFO landing pad, ensuring that future space travel would be safe for all intergalactic beings.
“All visitors from earth or otherwise are welcome to this territory and to the Town of St. Paul,” reads an inscription beside the 12-metre-diameter concrete pad.
The tiny U.S. town of Rachel, Nevada, meanwhile, has capitalized on its proximity to the mysterious Area 51, thought to be a secret U.S. military base.
Rachel’s tourism industry began to take off in the late 1980s, thanks to its reputation as a reliable location for sightings, drawing ever larger numbers of “UFO tourists”.
Nearby Nevada State Highway 375 was officially renamed the “Extraterrestrial Highway” to reflect the large number of sightings along this stretch of road.
Enterprising community leaders in other countries have boarded the UFO tourism spaceship, too. Last year, a Chilean mayor took the bold move of designating the region near his town as an official UFO tourism zone because so many sightings have taken place in the Andes mountains there.
That’s the kind of notoriety places like Terrace, Houston, and other Highway 16 towns could easily take advantage of.
While Terrace may presently lack an officially-sanctioned UFO tourism strategy, Vike is functioning as an unofficial intergalactic ambassador, sharing the region’s latest eye-witness reports and his own pet theories with a curious world.
From Houston headquarters, he keeps busy doing interviews with newspapers, TV shows and radio talk shows all over North America.
Canada’s Life network shot 18 hours of footage with Vike in Houston, Smithers and Telkwa in February. A do*****entary will air this fall season or early in the new year.
“All of this is great for tourism,” he says, reminding northwest residents to keep their eyes to the skies this summer.
Vike has noticed a new pattern in the most recent reports: more eyewitnesses in the northwest are reporting objects in the sky, instead of just unexplained, or oddly-moving lights.
One sighting reported by multiple witnesses across a wide geographic area involved gigantic triangles.
Others have reported seeing crescent or ring-shaped objects in the sky.
Vike adds a number of eyewitnesses reported seeing a large, saucer-shaped disk travelling from Mill Bay on Vancouver Island to Kitimat past the Alcan Smelter and on towards Prince Rupert and Terrace.
Vike, a former forestry industry worker, tries to uncover likely explanations for what eyewitnesses have seen. The planet Venus is sometimes mistaken for a UFO. Other sightings are later found to be aircraft, meteors, satellites, stars or even blimps, says Vike, who once belonged to the Royal Astronomical Society and volunteered at the planetarium in Vancouver.]

Other sightings are later found to be aircraft, meteors, satellites, stars or even blimps, says Vike, who once belonged to the Royal Astronomical Society and volunteered at the planetarium in Vancouver.]

Victoria, B.C. A Florescent Tube Shaped Object
Posted: January 21, 2008
Date: August (?) 2000 Time: approx: 3:00 a.m.
A witness reported looking out his window and seeing an unusual object at approx: 3:00 a.m. near the Oak Bay Junction, where Oak Bay Avenue meets Fort Street and Pandora Street. The fellow said there is a hill, which is at the highest point in the city on Belmont Avenue. On the hill there is a large condo complex which is 12 to 14 stories in height. On top of the complex there are microwave and cell phone towers. From the witnesses position, looking toward the condo complex he saw a strange object flying close to the top of the complex. (He said if people would have been looking out there windows they would have had this object pass right in front of their faces). He described the object as looking like an ordinary florescent tube, square on both ends, maybe slightly rounded (ends) and a pale yellow orange glow in color.
It was traveling in a flat trajectory and just "zipped" by, traveling at an incredible rate of speed right at the top of the building. The witness noted the same object passed by the building twice within ten minutes in exactly the same spot. At this point he said his heart was thumping rather hard due to what he just saw. Each time the object was noticed the sighting lasted maybe for about 2 seconds. He figured it was approx: the length of a city bus.
Thank you to the witness for the report.

Brandon, Manitoba A Deep Red Oval Shaped Object
Posted: January 21, 2008
Around 1947
I'm not sure of the year, but it was about 1947, after dark. I'm not sure whether it was Spring or Fall. A group of five of us boys from the Indian Residential School, which was about three miles northwest of Brandon, Manitoba. We were playing out in the yard. I was twelve years old in 1947, and the other boys were around that age.
One of the boys hollered,"What's that??" We all stopped and looked in the direction he was pointing. We saw a wonderful sight. Descending slowly from the starry sky was an oval-shaped object that was deep red, and which looked as if it were red-hot metal. While it was descending at about a 60 degree angle, we all began to run in the direction that it was landing. We were struck by its complete silence. Then one of the boys said, "Oh, it must be the Air Force experimenting with some type of balloon." So, we decided that we had better not go up there. It definitely came down and landed beyond the trees. We then went on with our silly game, not realizing that we were possibly witnessing the landing of a craft from another world.
I made a rough graphic to illustrate how that object looked. See the attachment. I hope you can open it.
My many thanks to this witness for his report.

North Vancouver - Strange Objects
Posted: January 21, 2008
I was looking in a drawer and found a couple of photo's of the Seymour, Grouse Mountain area. In the one photo I noticed what appeared to be metallic disk shaped object at about 8,000 feet over Indian Arm. I scanned it into my computer but to my surprise I could hardly even see the object in the photo, instead there is a much larger triangular shaped object just below and to the left of the object I was looking for, there are also several other objects including something that looks like a cross above and a little to the left of the triangular thing. If you look closely you can just make out the shadowy outline of the object I can see in the photo.
Its just above and to the right of the triangular object. I then scanned in the second photo and found the same triangular object over closer to Seymour Mountain the photos were apparently taken back in January 2003 and from the lighting I would say one was taken early in the morning and the second in the afternoon. I thought maybe I had dirt on the glass of my scanner and that was the object in question but after cleaning the glass and wiping off the photos the object is still there, also seem to have picked up a couple of what looks like small hairs. I looked at the photos through a magnifying glass but cannot see the objects. Just the original one that caught my attention in the first place. Funny that the scanner does not pick it up as it is easily seen with the eye.
Thank you to the witness for the report.

Fraser Lake, B.C. Two White Colored Round Balls Of Light
Posted: January 21, 2008
Date: June 7, 2002 Time: 11:25
Witnesses (3 young teens) reported to me seeing two white colored round balls of light streaking low over the lake (Fraser Lake). The sighting lasted approx: 6 seconds from when they caught sight of the objects. I asked how high the objects were off the lake, the teens said "maybe" 200 feet". As the object moved from one end of the lake to the other, they said it looked as if the lights were rotating over one another. In other words circling each other while in flight. The object were moving from the east to the west.
Thank you to the folks who made the report.

Jack Pine, Terrace, B.C. Bright White Light With A Halo Around It
Posted: January 21, 2008
Date: March 4, 2002 Time: approx: 10:00 p.m.
This witness telephoned me to report what her, and her husband had witnessed after reading an article in the Terrace newspaper about UFO sightings around the north. She tells me that they had a pretty weird sighting in the area of Jack Pine which is a area just 20 minutes outside of Terrace, B.C. She also felt that this was very strange as her in-laws were coming over to their home early the next morning, but her husbands father likes to stop at Tim Horton's for a coffee. When the father arrived at the witnesses home, he told them that he was talking to a fellow in Tim Horton's who had seen a "UFO" the night before and this lady who reported to me had not told the father that they also to had seen a UFO.
She went on to explain that both her and her husband just looked at each other wondering what it could be as they knew what they were watching did not have a rational explanation. Seeing her husband is a professional and works in the scientific field they were both at a loss, and said what else could it be other than a UFO ?
The sighting lasted approx: 20 minutes, and it was a very bright white light with a halo around it. She told me the light moved quite a bit from side to side but always seemed to come back to a center point and stay stationary before continuing to repeat itself. After the approx: 20 minutes time was up it disappeared.
The husband said to her that it could not have been a plane as they don't do things like this. (as above). I asked the witness what direction the light departed to, she said they actually did not see it leave, but said the light just went out. I also asked if she would be able to give some idea of how big this would have been, she said at arms length the light would have been about the size of a pea or maybe a bit smaller.
The light was high up in the sky she said.
Investigators Note: This is where my ears perked up as she mentioned the crop circles in Vanderhoof, British Columbia and a close friend and biologist (fisheries technician) and her friend, another witness were working on a salmon enhancement project and had seen a large bright object hovering over the area where the crop circles were discover back in September, 2001. (the night before the circles were formed, this information was a total surprise to me). It wasn't until two weeks later when the fisheries technician heard about the crop circles she put two and two together thinking if what they saw had anything to do with the crop circles. I was told the fisheries technician would wake up every four hours to check the salmon traps to see if they had caught any fish. So the technician and her friend had spotted the object at approx: 4:00 a.m. and said it was so very bright and moving so strangely.
My phone number has been passed along to the fisheries technician so she can fill me in with the details of her sighting in Vanderhoof, B.C.
Thank you to the witness for the report.

UFO Sighting In Telkwa & Houston, B.C.

By Nicole Fitzgerald The Interior News
On July 29, winding down from a day on his Telkwa farm, Gordon Stewart settled into his chair facing two bay windows, overlooking the valley for a late-night movie.
At 10:45 p.m., a bright light flashed by his field of vision, raising him from his chair, astonished at the peculiarity and speed of the sight. After walking onto the front porch for a clearer view, only silence filled the valley sky smudged with light cloud cover. He called the RCMP.
There was no air force activity in the area. he woke his wife Joanna, who had already turned in for the night without hearing or seeing anything. On sharing his description of the round, white light with a yellowish hue, he learned his wife had seen the same light in the same location a couple of months earlier.
"I didn't want to tell him because he'd think I was crazy," Joanne recounted. Earlier that evening at 10.20 p.m. in Houston, a Canfor employee stepped from a forklift to examine a phosphorescent like white ball of light with yellow undertones, which appeared to hover, before slowly crawling across the sky line. The worker called out to two fellow co-workers who caught sight of the glowing light, which grew a tail as it gained momentum.
The phenomenon gained speed towards Tweedsmuir Park and shot out of view over the horizon. "I called them over because I wanted proof that I saw something and that I wasn't crazy," the Canfor employee explained. Despite having two witnesses, the Canfor employee wished to remain anonymous. Despite his wife having seen the same phenomenon's, Stewart was relieved a similar sighting was reported the same day.
Stewart caught the tail end of a movie when he was startled from his chair by an unidentifiable round light streaking across the valley. Combined with his house being stationed at 3,000 feet - Smithers sits at approximately 1,750 feet - and large bay windows, Stewart has an ideal birds eye view of air traffic.
Crazy and UFO are often terms that go hand in hand when trying to determine an experience that appears to be out of this world.
Already this year, over 70 unidentifiable sightings have been reported in northern B.C. Only two days before the Telkwa/Houston sighting, an erratically moving, bright light was spotted in Prince George. Sightings in Prince Rupert and Port Simpson were reported the same day of Stewart's experience. The two days that followed it reports from Terrace were filed on a glowing, cigar-shaped craft and four multiple sightings of an unidentifiable light.
"There is so much going on here it's nuts", Houston B.C. Canada UFO researcher Brian Vike remarked. Vike suspects action in space is growing with the number of hits he receives on his UFO website. "Recently, I have been getting numerous hits," he said, "Everything from the National Defense Department to Federal Aviation". He also noted that open information transitions between himself and the National Department of Defense has since clammed up with the publishing of the recent sighting in Telkwa - where three women attested to seeing an unidentified object with bright lights.
"No one wants to say anything and I am kind of wondering why", He questioned. "Is the military running a project we are not aware of? Something has happened I just don't know what ... yet". Many of these speculated extraterrestrial occurrences have been explained away as meteorites, flying exercises, space debris and the result of power towers.
A recent space ship sighting in Smithers turned out to be the planets Jupiter and Venus. Stewart dismisses many of these suspicions in his case. He began by explaining that the object flew in a flat line unlike meteorite or space debris's falling arc pattern. Planes might be a credible explanation, but because no sound was detected and the size of the light - the size of a pick up truck from the distance he sat at - flew so low, a plane wasn't a logical solution in Stewart's mind.
According to Central Mountain Air, there were no late night flights except for a training run July 29. Northern Thunderbird training was up between 10:07 - 11:04, however, a Central Mountain Air spokesperson saw no connection between the occurrences. She speculated that the tiny Cessna 185 would not emit a bright light of that magnitude and its engines would be heard at a close proximity.
Although a comet spotted the same evening would solve Stewart's mystery, its glowing green light, arc-shaped flight and Hudson Bay Mountain location did not pair up with what he saw - leaving Stewart questioning, "What the heck was it?" For Stewart, the speed of the light was the most notable. "If you had blinked, you would have missed it, it was that fast," he said. He assessed the light reached faster than the speed of light at over 650 miles per hour. Stewart is well acquainted to gauging speed, he assessed, after driving dragsters that reached up to 200 miles per hour. As to whether he believes in another life force traveling through the universe, Stewart has always believed since reading space comic books as a kid, that people on earth weren't the only ones out here. "There's too much on earth not to disbelieve," he argued, noting other phenomenon's such as the Pyramids. "I think there was someone before us."
Despite Stewart's open mind towards other life forms, he talked himself through other possible explanations, but came to the same conclusion: "I knew I saw something out of the ordinary".
Although highly skeptical, the Canfor employee agreed his sighting was something more than an every day occurrence. "In my mind it looked like a meteorite," he comforted himself, but wavered as he turned the 20 second experience over in his mind. "But, it was like no meteorite I've ever seen. I've seen meteorite showers before, but they never looked anything like this. I really don't know what it was."

"In my mind it looked like a meteorite," he comforted himself, but wavered as he turned the 20 second experience over in his mind. "But, it was like no meteorite I've ever seen. I've seen meteorite showers before, but they never looked anything like this. I really don't know what it was."

Winnipeg, Manitoba Disc Shaped Object
Posted: January 21, 2008
Date: January 24, 2007 Time: 4:40
Location of Sighting: North west horizon while standing at Convergys Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Disc
Full Description of event/sighting: Well I'm not 100% sure what I saw, I was outside in the bus shack when I noticed what looked like a white reflecting line that was horizontal, and to my eye looked about 4 mm long. I went out side to watch it because it seemed odd and I was looking through glass. It drifted slowly towards the west and slightly upwards, it seemed like it was closer then most planes fly unless landing and normally you can see its shape at that size. At one point it reversed directions and went east about an inch and headed back west. When it changed directions it didn't change shape like a plane or a helicopter viewed at different angles while changing directions, it stayed the same. Not to mention there was no trail like jets leave, and if it was a prop plane it would have to have been closer because of it being a smaller plane. It then seemed to head directly away from me as it disappeared into the blue of the sky, it didn't look normal the way it kind of when up and out of sight. There was a jet in the sky at the tie way to the left and I could see its trail coming from the horizon and its approach was very slow compared to the object which didn't go down the horizon like a plane fallowing the shape of the earth.
Thank you to the witness for their report.

Smithers, British Columbia Object With Glowing Center (Graphic)
Posted: January 21, 2008
Date: February 20, 2003 Time: 2:40 a.m.
I had a witness call from Smithers, B.C. this morning. She mentioned to me that her husband thought she was seeing things, but it sounds like she was certainly witnessing something rather strange. The woman was up with her baby at 2:40 a.m. and has a great view of Hudson Bay Mountain and the ski runs, (which are located in Smithers). Actually the witness sits at the base of the mountain. Her blinds were semi open and allowed her to see a very bright light crossing the mountain, and then coming to a complete stop over one of the largest runs, which is called "Cold Smoke". She went on to say the light was dead center of the run, and wondered if it was just hovering, or "maybe" it had landed. She also reported hearing a clicking sound from the direction of the object. (HBCC UFO Note: My son lived a while back in the very same area as the witness lives now, and I know many sounds bounce off the mountain which allows everyone to hear different noises much clearer). The object moved from east to west before coming to a complete stop over the run. Approx: 5 minutes went by and a train could be heard coming in the distance and the object disappeared. Her words, "turned off". After the train had come and passed, and approx: one hour later, the object once again showed up. She knew the times for certain as she was up with their baby.
After the second time the light showed up, she said "I got frightened and closed the blinds." I asked if she could describe the color of the light to me, she went on to say it was an extremely bright white, with an orangy light coming from the center. The light moved quicker than a helicopter, or any small plane that she knew of. (keep in mind that this light was spotted travelling some distance just below the peaks of the mountain and came to a sudden stop above the ski runs).
When the witness observed the light the second time, or after the train had long passed, she did not notice the light moving, but it just showed up in exactly the same position it was observed before. The second sighting only lasted a couple of minutes. She reported that her cat, which was also sitting on her bed, perked it's ears up looking in the direction of the window. I asked her an approximate size to the light. She said it may have been half of her thumb nail (held at arm's length) and round in shape.
Thank you to the witness for the report.

Calf Mute in Lumby, B.C. Conversation With Conservation Officer
Posted: January 21, 2008
Conversation With Conservation Officer By Way of Telephone
I phoned a conservation officer in Vernon, British Columbia this morning and left a message on his answering machine to request he call me back as I was looking for any help (information) on a cattle mutilation which took place in Lumby, British Columbia, Canada. I didn't have any information on this case such as date, time, etc.... He phoned me back about a half hour later and we had a informative talk.
I asked if he had any information dealing with this calf mute in the Lumby area. He told me he had none at all as their field is dealing pretty much with wild animals. But he was kind enough to set me up with the information in which I needed to contact the rancher to discuss the calf mute. The conservation officer also told me this mutilation took place approximately 2 years ago.
The officer was kind enough to fill me in on some of the ways in which a wild animal can do this to a dead carcass. Below is our conversation.
I mentioned to Brent that I had received his name from the RCMP when investigating the Falkland "Mutilated Cow" report. I explained who I was, and that I was trying to investigate and gather information on the cattle mute which took place in his area.
After filling Brent in on how I came about acquiring his name, and a little about the case in the Falkland area I asked him if he possibly had a case file on this mute. He said no, and then told me that this mutilation report took place about 2 years ago and went on to inform me that this type of report (case) was not for their department and basically was not classed as wildlife.
Brent's comments to me were the ranchers found a cut up calf and did not have any ideas on what had taken place, they thought the mutilation was done by a cougar. But from the description the ranchers gave to the conservation officer it seemed that this was done by a knife which didn't make any sense to the him.
Brent asked me what was the nature of the mute down in the Falkland area. Did it have knife cuts on the animal ? I told him that the RCMP Constable, when he observed the dead animal, said that it looked as if a knife or fine instrument had made all the cuts. I also told him that in the Falkland case after an inspection of the dead animal, there was "no" blood remaining in the animal, no blood found around the scene whatsoever, also I was told there was a rectal core had been taken from the animal. The udder was removed, and sexual organs were also missing.
After giving Brent the information as to the shape of the dead animal he mentioned that it was not uncommon as coyotes will eat the udder off. Not only that, it looks as if the coyotes peeled it, or stripped it and a lot of times they will eat a hole into the back end of the dead animal as that is where they start to feed. He also mentioned that the damage at the back end could be done by turkey vultures as they are known to do this as well to the cavity. Brent said he wouldn't be surprised if that was predation.
Brent went on again to mention that the mutilation in Lumby had knife cuts on the animal and the organs, udder, whatever were also taken. We then chatted about different types of ideas as to what may cause these events, other than wild animals such as a possible cult or someone out to cause problems for others.
I mentioned a case from the United States which recently happened where the organs were removed and there was no blood left in the animal. Not to mention no trace of blood at the area where this cow was found.
Brent brought up some good points on the loss of blood for a mutilated animal. He said that a cougar will kill to the base of an animals head. He also mentioned that with a smaller animal such as a sheep or goat the cougar will basically eat the ears and open up the throat and drink the blood out of the animal. He said this can be common with cougars.
Brent also added that farmers/ranchers have phoned to report that their sheep were cut open and left on the ground. Brent went on to tell me that when he went out to look into this report it turned out to be the work of a cougar. He tells me the cougars use their teeth like snips and peel back the hide with their incisors which looks as though this has been done with a knife. Basically they will cut a hatch into the ribs and it appears as if a set of shears have done it. Peel the hide back and it seems like its done with a knife and that way they get at the organs better. A little port hole in the side and eat all the heart and lungs and get all the good parts.
I still have to talk to the ranch owners on this matter and get their version of the occurrence. This case is still unsolved but investigations are still in progress. I am inclined to think it was a wild animal but probably will go down as an unsolved case. More to come on this matter.

Cattle Mute RCMP Investigation HBCC UFO Received
Posted: January 21, 2008
September 2001
I have been in contact with CBC Radio News and they have provided the following information.
The area where this took place was between, Fulton and the Chase area in British Columbia. Some horse back riders had found the carcass of the animal (cow) and had contacted the farmer and the RCMP were also contacted. There was only one set of tracks leading to the animal, these tracks were left behind by the farmer as he inspected the dead animal. No other tracks were found around the area, leading in or out. After an inspection of the dead animal, there was "no" blood remaining in the animal, no blood found around the scene what so ever, also I was told there was a rectal core was taken from the animal. The udder was removed, and sexual organs were also missing.
From Constable Lange of the RCMP:
Brian
Here is a copy of the portions of our file that we are able to release to you. It has taken a fair amount of time to conclude this matter. Hopefully this information will prove helpful to your research.
Thank you , Cst. C.D.H. Lange - RCMP
I have now talked to the RCMP investigating officer and I will be faxed their full report in a week or two after they wrap up their investigation. I will post all results from this, and my look into this strange event.

CST Lange phoned the Saskatchewan Research Counsel and spoke with Eve Plante at (phone number deleted by HBCC UFO). Plante asked about several contacts of his whether they had any statistics. His contact on the matter with the breed association in Calgary had no records available. His contact at the Saskatchewan Pasture Management like wise had heard of cattle mutilations but had no statistics. Plante's contact at the University of Saskatchewan also had several cases of cattle mutilation reported to them however, the cases turned out to be the work of scavengers eating their way through the soft tissue area of the body.
Date: 2001-12-07 - Time: 16:40
No further information to add to this file. Although it is unknown exactly what has happened, all evidence points towards the work of small scavenger animals.

Spoke with Cpl. Ramsay of Clinton RCMP. He explained that he had previous dealings with the University of Saskatewan concerning cattle mutilations. He suggested that most likely the situation was caused by rodents. They apparently leave the impression that the hide was cut with a knife. They chew the soft tissue and essentially saw out the utter and other areas of soft tissue.

End of RCMP Investigation report. I was told other information was given to another unit of the RCMP for possible more investigation. But this information is not for the public, at least at this time.
Other do*****ents that were faxed from the RCMP are pages from the Freedom of Information Act which are rather interesting also.
I would like to extend my many thanks to Constable Lange of the RCMP for all his help. The RCMP at this time are placing small animals which may have caused the damage to the animal after it died. Also more information on this will follow soon.

UFOs Create Tourism Boom In Terrace, British Columbia
Posted: January 21, 2008
By Jennifer Lang - Terrace Standard
Terrace's reputation as B.C.'s UFO capital is creating a new kind of tourism boom in the region.
Curious travellers from across North America are inquiring about the tourism facilities in communities across Highway 16, including Terrace, says a UFO researcher based in Houston, B.C.
"You would be surprised just how many emails I get over the months requesting information for our areas," says Brian Vike, editor of Canadian Communicator, a magazine specializing in the paranormal, and director of HBCC-UFO Research.
Savvy tourists know they're more likely to see a flying saucer than the elusive Kermode bear, the white form of a black bear that is the city's official symbol.
Vike says he's often contacted by UFO buffs and the just plain curious who want to know about the region's tourist attractions and accommodations.
"Many have never been up this way," Vike says. "So I give them the lowdown on what our communities have."
He tells them about camp sites in the area, the excellent hiking, fishing and boating opportunities here, the beautiful scenery and the range of wildlife.
"As a matter of fact, I receive so many emails, I was going to put up a page on my website which would give information to tourists on what we have."
Vike says 2003 is shaping up to be another record year for UFO sightings in the skies over Terrace, where 25 sightings were recorded last year, suggesting more national and international attention could be on its way.
"Right now Terrace has darn near caught up to last year's total count for sightings," he says.
UFO-related tourism is a growing market in the rest of the world.
Vulcan, a town of 1,700 in southern Alberta that's home to a replica starship and a tourist information centre built to look like a space station, isn't the only place cashing in on its Sci Fi cachet.
St. Paul, Alberta was out of the gate back in 1967, when it built the world's first UFO landing pad, ensuring that future space travel would be safe for all intergalactic beings.
"All visitors from earth or otherwise are welcome to this territory and to the Town of St. Paul," reads an inscription beside the 12-metre-diameter concrete pad.
The tiny U.S. town of Rachel, Nevada, meanwhile, has capitalized on its proximity to the mysterious Area 51, thought to be a secret U.S. military base.
Rachel's tourism industry began to take off in the late 1980s, thanks to its reputation as a reliable location for sightings, drawing ever larger numbers of "UFO tourists".
Nearby Nevada State Highway 375 was officially renamed the "Extraterrestrial Highway" to reflect the large number of sightings along this stretch of road.
Enterprising community leaders in other countries have boarded the UFO tourism spaceship, too.
Last year, a Chilean mayor took the bold move of designating the region near his town as an official UFO tourism zone because so many sightings have taken place in the Andes mountains there.
That's the kind of notoriety places like Terrace, Houston, and other Highway 16 towns could easily take advantage of.
While Terrace may presently lack an officially-sanctioned UFO tourism strategy, Vike is functioning as an unofficial intergalactic ambassador, sharing the region's latest eye-witness reports and his own pet theories with a curious world.
From Houston headquarters, he keeps busy doing interviews with newspapers, TV shows and radio talk shows all over North America.
Canada's Life network shot 18 hours of footage with Vike in Houston, Smithers and Telkwa in February. A documentary will air this fall season or early in the new year.
"All of this is great for tourism," he says, reminding northwest residents to keep their eyes to the skies this summer.

Coming In The Air Tonight

KIMBERLY -- Did anyone in the Wycliffe - St. Mary Lake area see something strange in the sky late Saturday night, early Sunday morning? Rhonda Brass of Cranbrook would like to know, because she saw something she can only describe as an unidentified flying object.
Rhonda and her family were camping at St. Mary Lake over the weekend. At about 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, she and her husband took a walk on the road near the old cabin.
"The kids were sleeping and we wanted to take a few minutes to admire the stars," Rhonda said. "We saw a bright, white light coming from over top of Bootleg Mountain, about 4,000 to 5,000 feet. But then we realized that there was no noise and the light was really bright and much bigger than the light on an airplane." Rhonda says the light travelled across the lake and seemed to vary speed."
"It would go fast, then slow and it was zigzagging a bit, almost like a wobble. I know it wasn't a satellite, it was far lower down and it definitely wasn't a shooting star.
"All you could see was the light. It was like when you see Venus at night, just as bright, only 10 times bigger."
Rather than being unnerved by the sight, Rhonda said that she used her big flashlight to try and signal whatever it was.
"It was really neat. It didn't scare me.I was quite impressed. I would have loved to meet whoever it was. After it was out of sight I said to my husband, 'I think we've just seem our first UFO'".
Rhonda called the Cranbrook airport to see if any planes were in the area at that time. There were none. Cpl. Rod Caronneau of the Kimberly RCMP said the Detachment received no calls. "Usually that type of thing draws a lot of attention," he said.
Rhonda Brass would be very interested to know if anyone else saw it. "Both my husband and I saw it. We weren't drinking. I would really like to know what it was."

Daylight UFO Over Resolute Bay, Canada (Photo)

Resolute Bay, Canada
Date: Week of November 6th to Nov 14th 2001 Time: 12:45 p.m.
Hello, my story starts with a visit to Cornwallis Island on the week of Nov 6th to Nov 14th 2001.
After my visit was complete we departed Cornwallis Island and flew to Resolute. We had about a 3 hour wait for our connecting flight to Nanisivik. So we stayed in the airport and waited for our plane to show up.
On a previous project I had purchased a new Sony digital top of the line camera and I had this with me for the site visit to document an area where I was going to, etc.
I took several shots of the surrounding airport terrain and when I got back to the office a week later I went through the 100 plus photos. To my surprise picture number 97 had an object in the background. This shot was taken at approx. 12:45 in the afternoon in the direction of the end of the runway.
I have enlarged this photo and examined it in many ways. It sends a little chill up and down my spine every time I look at it. My friends and work colleagues are speechless . Those that are do not believe in UFO's don't know what to say or can't.
When you enlarge this photo you will see this object at an angle and underneath it you can see three columns of disfigured airspace (possibly drives). The afternoon was clear and crisp and the shacks at the end of the runway clearly are proportionate to the object passing just past the end of the runway. I did not see the object to take this photo I pointed at the end of the runway and took the shot, what was in the shot as I said was discovered later.
Let me know what you think of this photograph.
Regards.
I would like to thank the witness for the report and photo. Also some information was removed from this report to keep the witnesses identity private. Posted with permission.

Cariboo Airspace A-Buzz With UFOs
Posted: January 21, 2008
By Neil Horner © 2003 Quesnel Cariboo Observer
The skies above Quesnel and the rest of the Cariboo area have been relatively crowded lately, and not just with airplanes and helicopters.
In fact, says UFO researcher Brian Vike, nobody is exactly sure what they are.
In an interview from his home in Houston, B.C., Vike said he's amazed at the number of sightings in the Cariboo over the past summer and fall.
I've been getting stuff like crazy from your area, he said. All kinds of things are happening. It's been very busy ever since mid-July.
One incident, he said, involved some Quesnel women who said they saw an object that looked like a giant plasma ball moving slowly across the sky one night.
"It took about eight seconds, which is a very long time, Vike said. They watched it from their kitchen."
In another incident, he said, a Wal-Mart employee working a late shift, saw a great big red object shoot across the heavens.
Vike said he received reports of a fireball coming down in the Quesnel area recently, which was seen from Vanderhoof to 100 Mile House.
It was very bright, very low, he said.
These are just a few of the local sightings that Vike has had reported to his web site at www.hbcufo.com.
I've had reports coming in about just about every shape and form of unidentified craft you can think of, from triangles to crescent shapes and cylinders, he said. I had reports of a really dark object, really low over Okanagan Lake. According to witnesses, two jets flew over just after this object went through, although that's hard to verify.
One of the most disturbing elements of any UFO report is the possibility of missing time - where witnesses find they can't account for several hours just after seeing something. This, too, he said, has happened in B.C. this year.
In Kelowna on July 31, two women were out star gazing and they pulled over, and got out of their vehicle. When they did, they saw three white lights come together to form a triangle and then drop out of the sky, Vike said. They tried to run, but they said it was like running through quicksand. One of them said she felt like she had been zapped with electricity, and the other agreed. They managed to get to a house, with the lights still following, and that was it.
Or was it? The women reported between 25 and 35 minutes of missing time.
Interestingly, Vike said, the womenâs tale was bolstered by a report from someone else living in the area who said they could see where the ladies were and could see the lights over the highway.
In the morning, one of the two women was sitting at a table and all of a sudden said, she felt awful and then blood started trickling from her right nostril. As well, she found she had a burn mark on her tailbone that she couldn't explain. The doctor, Vike said, suggested it looked like a radiation burn.
Those ladies went through hell with this, he said.
In another local incident, a Quesnel area resident was looking up at the stars when a number of them all of a sudden moved and fanned out in different directions.
In all, there were 150 reports of unidentified flying objects in British Columbia over the past year. That, Vike noted makes up about 50 per cent of the entire crop of UFO sightings in the entire country.
Vike has been working as a UFOlogist since mid-2000, following up a lifelong passion for astronomy. When he moved to Houston, he set up his web site and started posting some old UFO pictures, and people started calling in their reports.
One thing I would like to stress is that if people make a report, their personal information will not be given out, a Vike said. This is very important.ä To report a UFO sighting, call Vike's toll-free number at (not operating anymore)

Houston BC Resident Vike Busy Researching Sightings In Sky
Posted: January 21, 2008

A Houston man who researches celestial phenomena says a number of unexplained objects have appeared in the night sky over Prince George and the Northern Interior in recent years.
Brian Vike hopes local residents will phone his toll-free line, 1-866-262-1989, to report any unusual sightings.
Vike owns and operates HBCC UFO Research (HBCC stands for Houston, British Columbia, Canada), which he established in 2000. He says the number of reports of unexplained night-sky phenomena has increased dramatically since 2002.
"There is no doubt something is happening in our skies", he said. "Particularly in the last two months there have been a lot of strange things."
Vike said a Prince George resident reported a red ball of light just west of the city Jan.30 around 9.30 p.m.
"The first time it rose from behind trees, and then it moved to the west and hovered above the trees," he said.
"Afterwards it jumped higher quite suddenly, took off for the west, and made a curving motion.
"She said that, being so close, they thought it may be a helicopter but it made no noise." Vike says.
Another resident called around the same time to report exactly the same phenomena, he added.
Other Prince George residents saw a ball of light over the industrial area east of the downtown core, the evening of January 29th. "It flew over and split in two," Vike said. "Each part went in a different direction".
This week a city resident near First and Tabor told The Citizen she and four friends saw two orange objects in the northern sky, January 31st around 10.p.m. After five or 10 minutes they moved lightly apart, one more slowly than the other. The first one disappeared fairly quickly into clouds afterwards, while the other moved out more slowly and faded off.
Above a month and a half ago, Prince George residents phoned about a possible meteor, Vike said. "It was a real good fireball streaking across the sky just west of Prince," he said. "It was blue and left a long bright trail behind it. It lit up quite an area as it travelled through."
Another incident occurred in the city about a month ago. A resident was standing by the Future Shop, looking west just after the sky had turned dark. For two minutes the resident saw a large flame, such as from a jet afterburn, but they didn't see any aircraft anywhere.
Last Fall, a Quesnel resident driving north towards Prince George saw an oval shaped light from highway 97 between the two communities.
"In the last while dozens of people in Prince George have seen unusual phenomena," he said.
Reports of sightings may be faxed to Vike at (old number) or email to hbccufo@telus.net

Kincardine, Ontario 3 Bright Lights Explode From The Water
Posted: January 21, 2008
Report received January 29, 2007
Date: About 14-15 years ago Time: 10:00 -11:00 p.m.
Brian, well I live in a small town called Kincardine. It's in Ontario on the Western shores of Lake Huron. This is home to one of the worlds largest nuclear power plants, Bruce Power. This experience happened about 14-15 years ago. I was around 12 years old and it was the summer before I entered high school. So how ever old you are then.
Anyways, this is what happened, It's about 10:00 - 11:00 pm., myself and two friends at the time were on our bikes down at the harbor on our pier. We have two piers, a north and south pier. We were on the north pier, cause back then we had a diving board on the pier where everyone would hang out. So we were out on the pier standing around talking about having a sleep-over out at my dads house. About 50 meters or so off the pier it looked like there was someone out in the water swimming. It looked like someone was doing the breaststroke, doing maybe 30 feet lengths back and forth, back and forth. We didn't think anything of it really. So anyways my one buddy already knew he could stay the night, but my other buddy didn't as he had to ask his parents. So he took off on his bike back uptown to call his parents and ask.
Me and my other buddy stayed at the pier. 10-15 minutes later he comes back. This is where things get weird! So we notice that things still there, doing the same thing, same pattern like someone was swimming! Only out a little deeper, basically right out in front of the diving board now. Still parallel to the pier. Now were starting wonder what this thing really is as were curious, right. We start walking towards the diving board, which is maybe 15 feet from where we were, asking each other "What is it?" As we reached the diving board I yelled out " It's a mermaid, " joking around. Just as I finished yelling that, this thing stopped moving in the water and it looked like it looked at us.
It went under the water and exploded out of the water in 3 bright lights in the shape of a perfect triangle. Maybe 10-15 feet between each light. This thing was out of the water and hovering literally 7-10 feet in front of us, off the pier in a matter of milli-seconds. Not a sound was made by this thing and deadly quiet! It rotated one way coming out the water, stopped in front of us, hovered there for maybe 3-5 seconds then took off rotating the other direction out over the break-wall then up into the air and gone! I remember having to grab onto the diving board ladder because my entire body turned to, basically Jell-O and I could feel some sort of heat on my face.
After we could move again, we looked at each other and ran like hell! We left our bikes and just ran off the pier and it took us about an hour to go back to get our bikes. This happened and I will never forget it. Feels like it happened yesterday. Back then I had no clue about UFOs and such things. We were all into our sports. The only thing that came to our minds was a ghost. But as I got older I started seeing TV shows and documentaries about UFOs and now I'm 110% sure it was a UFO, and to be honest I think we saw some sort of Alien species doing whatever it was doing in the water until we spooked it. Maybe it hopped in it's craft and zipped up on us out of curiosity. It's a crazy story I know, but 100% the truth.
Thank you.
Thank you very much to the witnesse for their report.

Mysterious Lights Over Prince George Explained
Posted: January 21, 2008
By Bernice Trick Citizen Staff ©Prince George Citizen Newspaper
The mystery of the orange lights in the sky above Prince George about a week ago has been solved.
"The lights turned out to be parachutists jumping at night," said Brian Vike, a UFO expert from Houston.
"The jumpers were doing acrobatics -- almost doing somersaults at times -- and the orange lights attached to their feet or ankle areas would appear to rise upwards during the acrobatics," Vike said. The mystery was solved by a retired military man who viewed the action with a pair of binoculars, he said.
"One landed close to his home, and he said just before landing, the jumper turned the lights off."
On Friday the Citizen ran a story of the unusual sightings reported by Andrea Lanoue who, with four friends, observed bright orange objects.
She described the lights as hovering for a time before moving slightly apart at different speeds, and some of them "fading off".
Vike said he's not sure if the skydivers used the lights to keep track of each other during formation jumping or if they were "playing some kind of hoax".
A UFO survey released Monday by Ufology Research of Manitoba shows the top 10 communities in Canada for reported UFO sightings, Vike said. In 2003, there were 673 reported sightings across Canada, with Vancouver leading with 41. Toronto ranked second with 34 sightings, followed by Houston at 33, Terrace at 30, and Airdrie, Alberta at 17. Prince George is not among the top ten.
"Most reported unfamiliar lights in the sky are identified as meteors, planets or stars," Vike said, who became heavily involved in UFO sightings in 2000 after moving to Houston. Since then he's participated in radio shows in Canada and the U.S. and was one of the main characters featured in a 2002 TV documentary called "The Magnificent Obsession".
Among cases still unsolved is one involving two women travelling away from Kelowna last July. "They reported seeing three white lights which turned green and dropped down in front of them on the highway. They both reported a loss of 45 minutes, and a tingly throughout their bodies," Vike said.
"They turned around and headed back to Kelowna with the light following them for a short distance before disappearing," said Vike, noting eight other people also reported seeing green lights. The next day, both women felt ill with a passenger having a nose bleed and finding a burn mark on her tail bone which the doctor said appeared to be a radiation burn. Since then, both have experienced weight loss, hair loss, nausea, salt cravings, dehydration and pressure to the back of their neck. But doctors cannot figure out the problem, Vike said.

Strange Lights In Sky Reported By Resident
Posted: January 21, 2008

A local resident wants to know if anyone else has seen fast moving balls of fire in the sky above Prince George in recent months.
Lisa Hallam says she's witnessed the sight on three separate occasions -- including Monday night -- as well as August 18, 2003 and January 31, 2004.
"The first time I saw this intensely red ball of fire was last August 18 above Punchaw Park, just off Ness Avenue where I live," said the 35-year old Hallam, describing the object's size as about four times the size of the brightest star in the sky.
"I knew it wasn't Mars because it was located behind me," said Hallam.
She said another strange thing at the time was the electronics in her home "started acting funny. We'd lose the TV signal and the screen would go green, and the VCR and DVD player turned themselves on and off," said Hallam, who's a CNC student.
"I saw the light again January 31. I thought I was losing my mind, so thank goodness my mother saw it, too. "(On Monday) night I was coming home about 6:30 p.m. along Rainbow Drive and there it was again, travelling northwest above Cranbrook Hill acting in the same manner as the others. It moved pretty fast. It's so intensely red."
When Hallam reached home she continued to watch the sky, and said there were two other unique sites.
"Above Cranbrook Hill there was a circular shaped blue green hue that appeared both in front of and behind the clouds, and then I saw a long, rectangular hue of light-green light. It resembled the northern lights, but moved horizontally instead of up and down. My neighbour saw the bar-shaped hue, also."
That same day, Lisa's mother, Cheryll Hallam, said the electronics "went wonky" again. Gil Self, vice president of the Prince George Astronomical Society, said there had been no reports of the lights described by Hallam. "Right now Venus is brilliant due to its location in its orbit high in the western sky. It sparkles like a jewel", said Self, who said he never discredits reports by people, but instead, tries to explain the likely causes.
Self said there are many explanations for lights in the sky - refracted light from aircraft, electrical phenomenon in the sky, fireballs, meteorites, and electrical discharges from time to time.
UFO expert Brian Vike of Houston said: "I have no explanation for the sighting, but I am going to check out a few things regarding it and a few more sightings in the Prince George area."

Seeing Things

By Jennifer Lang Terrace Standard News
Have you seen anything unusual in the skies over Terrace lately? You're not alone.
From the Horseshoe to Ferry Island, and from Krumm Road to Highway 16 West, residents of the Terrace area are seeing weird things in the sky that no one has been able to explain.
According to the latest annual UFO survey, Terrace remains a hotbed of activity, accounting for about 10 per cent of all the sightings reported in B.C. last year Terrace is ranked in fourth spot in the country for UFO reports, according to the 2003 Canadian UFO Survey.
We're just behind Houston, B.C., Toronto, and Vancouver, which has emerged as the Canadian UFO capital.
"There's something happening, and I don't know what it is," says Brian Vike, a Houston, B.C.-based researcher who operates a 1-800 UFO hot line and sends in data to the UFO survey.
A while back, every time he got a new UFO report from somewhere in B.C., he,d put a pin into a map of the province he,d hung on the wall. An unmistakable pattern has emerged.
To Vike, it sure looks like most of the reports are coming from inside a band that stretches southeast from Terrace to the Cranbrook area in the Kootenays.
"This is where the majority of sightings of unusual craft are being seen," he says, adding a number of the locations along this line are larger lakes, mines and power stations.
"Terrace has a number of natural and manmade things which may attract these objects," he adds, pointing to Alcan, a relatively close source of hydro electric power.
The natural thermal power of the hot springs may also be responsible for local sightings over the years.
"I get lots of reports around there of strange lights," Vike says, pointing out that seismic activity is sometimes associated with UFO reports.
But that certainly doesn't account for other unexplained Terrace area reports Vike's logged over the past year.
In February, 2003 a couple driving home from Prince Rupert spotted a huge, disk-shaped object travelling north across the Skeena River, about 85 km west of Terrace on Highway 16
It was dark, with two large, rectangular glowing lights on the bottom.
The husband wanted to pull over, but his wife insisted they keep driving, Vike says. Both were disturbed because the object moved so slowly.
In March of last year, a Tuck Ave. resident noticed a bright glowing object in the sky above the Eby St. intersection that looked like a meteor hurtling down to the ground.
The eyewitness said it was moving from side to side, and didn't make any noise.
In July, a couple with a great view of Terrace and the Skeena Valley was enjoying the view, relaxing with cup of coffee.
At around 11:45 p.m., they saw a large, glowing object moving slowly along the side of the highway near the 16/37 intersection. At first they thought it was some sort of aircraft. because it kept pace with some of the cars. But then they realized it was flying too low.
It appeared to stop suddenly before shooting off towards the west.
Other witnesses reported seeing a flying cross -- a huge, dark-coloured object with lights along the bottom panels -- above the Skeena River.
The sighting lasted for just a few seconds, before the object flew behind some trees, blocking their view.
Vike is convinced people are seeing something. He just doesn't know what.
Last year, Canadians reported nearly two UFO sightings a day, adding up to 673 in all.
That's an all-time high for the Canadian UFO Survey, released by Ufology Research of Manitoba, an independent study group based in Winnipeg.
Most UFO reports are eventually identified as planets, meteors, or aircraft.
"Popular opinion to the contrary, there is yet to be any incontrovertible evidence that some UFO cases involve extraterrestrial contact," study author Chris Rutkowski said.
Just seven per cent of sightings in the survey's "unexplained" category are deemed "high quality" unknowns.
Many eyewitnesses are pilots, police and other individuals who are expected to have good observational skills -- and good judgment, Rutkowski said.
Nation-wide, the number of UFO sightings climbed by 39 per cent in 2003.
British Columbia leads the rest of the country in terms of sheer volume of sightings, with 304 reported here last year, compared to 150 in Ontario and 76 in Alberta.
Most sightings have two witnesses and last for 10 minutes.
Mass sightings sometimes stem from a big event -- like a major fireball in 1993 that hundreds across Canada witnessed.
Similarly, last year, a major event in the Okanagan helped boost the number of sightings. "Literally hundreds of people" saw a band of white light arching across the sky" on July 28, the report says. That mass sighting is unexplained, but some think it may be a phenomenon long-time residents call the Okanagan Arch, a whitish band that crosses the sky.
The reports offer no "positive proof that UFOs are either alien spacecraft or a specific natural phenomenon," the report cautions, but notes something people call a UFO is continually being observed.
Various agencies and individuals participate in the survey, including the Houston, B.C., Centre for UFOs, which supplied seven per cent of the reports in this year's survey.
Vike, meanwhile, says the northwest's growing reputation as a UFO magnet, is resulting in a tourism boom. He fields many calls from people who want to visit the region.
That's why he's started to showcase the region's natural and tourist attractions on his website.
"I get lots of letters about the beautiful scenery," he says. "That's what's catching people's attention, too. They're saying, 'Yeah, I'm coming up your way., People are saying, 'This sounds good -- you,ve got fishing and hiking.,"
He can't understand why the towns of Terrace and Houston don't capitalize on their reputations as great places to see UFOs.
Vike is in demand as a guest on talk radio shows in the U.S. He also runs his own website, tracking the reports from northwest B.C. -- and far beyond. "I reach about 13 million people now a month," he says

Photos Of Large Scoop Mark On British Columbia Man
Posted: January 21, 2008
Trail, British Columbia -- I had an email from a fellow who resides in Trail, British Columbia. He asked if I would like to see some photos of an unusual mark he has on his back. He added his phone number in his letter and I called the man straight away and had a nice talk with him.
The fellow told me when he was around 9 -12 years old a large scoop mark appeared out of nowhere at the base of his spine. The gentleman said at that young age (9 - 12) he was literally plagued with vivid dreams which were very real to him. When the mark appeared out of nowhere on his back he was seen by a physician who told them that it looked as if "someone" had taken a chunk out of his back. The man said there was never any pain associated with it and no scaring. The fellow explained that there is a thin layer of skin which is covering the indentation and nerves in his back. The nerves are sensitive to the touch.
The scoop mark focused around a very detailed dream of hearing a strange chatter. In his vivid dream he found himself standing in front of his father's property, which is located in the Creston, B.C. Approximately 40 feet in front of him was a craft which was hovering about 6 to 10 inches off of the ground. It was round in shape but flat on the bottom, a dull aluminum in color and had no distinguishing markings on it. He said there was a green glow (a vapor cloud) which surrounded the craft. It made no sound but he did feel an odd vibration the craft emitted. (His example was, if you took your hand and placed it on running equipment and felt the vibrations from it) He didn't find all of this disturbing at all. The fellow never saw any kind of creatures of any sort.
Also the man was in a state of paralyses and all the time hearing this strange chattering sound. He went on to say that he eventually work up laying on the floor in a pile of laundry and to find his socks were wet from what he believed was from the morning dew outside. There were also was small twigs and a little soil laying about the floor. The fellow told me he is still wondering what actually happened that night many years ago. Also he wanted me to know that this was a one time experience.
Thank you to the person for the report and photos. More photos are being taken and will be sent along to me.
