Dogs Agitated By UFOs Sightings Over Komoka Trails Ontario

Date: October 16, 2010
Time: 11:45 a.m.

Location of Sighting: Komoka Trails Ontario.
Number of witnesses: 3+1 human+ 2 dogs.
Number of Objects: 7 plus 1.
Shape of Objects: Long cylinder with appendage.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Hi Brian, in the past week we have been watching the night skies in the area south and west from our porch with great interest now. I say now because there has been a lull in the activity we noted in the same are through out the whole summer. This period of 'non activity' lasted approximately 10 days back dated from today's date. We have been watching faithfully now every night since July when we first noticed the weird darting, flashing, erratic movement of these 'lights' that seem to be awfully low in the sky. We have noted the regular flight patterns of familiar air traffic in the area during the same time frame when we have seen
these unusual things. By we, I mean four members of our family.

During the last 10 days we have seen nothing unusual in the skies until two nights ago. Sometimes it has been clear as a bell with ideal viewing opportunity and we've witnessed nothing unusual, other times it has been cloudy or thickly overcast. If you said we were relieved, you'd be right, we had even begun to toy with the idea that we had imagined everything we had experienced and attributed it somehow to an over active 'collective' imagination.

As you can imagine when you live in a heavily treed area, and you see low anomalies in the night sky on a regular basis, you begin to wonder what you might see when all the trees have fallen and your viewing area has increased 10 fold. Well, you see more of a panoramic view for one thing, and for another you are provided with an uninterrupted sequence of events. By that I mean, not only have we been able to note these unusual lights and erratic movement, but we've been able to track where exactly they move to, and how many there are are.

Last night we counted 4 simultaneous bright flashes and at least 3 other responding dimmer flashes. There definitely seems to be a purpose that none of us have been able to figure out. There is very obvious signaling as indicated when while watching one light we notice two other ones flash orange then red quite bright then dim. We have been able to see these lights dim completely while a commercial aircraft flies overhead then come back on immediately after it passes. All this we can see through the now leafless trees quite low over the Thames River in a South to West direction.

I must mention that these 'lights' are fairly close, within a mile radius from our vantage point, we have heard nothing except for the commercial aircrafts. We have also noticed that the light show and activity seems to be greatest just before the sound of the distant train whistle and immediately after. Every time we say in disbelief to one another, 'See, there's no sound,' we strain our ears then we hear the train whistle.

Last night we watched these 'lights' for over an hour travel back and forth above and along the length of the river and return to the same spot above the hydro lines/gravel pits at least 5 or 6 times. The height we'd estimate as being between 500 to 800 feet above the river. We noticed that while the lights flashed or flickered they seemed to sweep or cause arcs of light over the area. We thought maybe it only seemed that way because they were so low and there was something to bounce off the light as it were.

This was very faint, this arcing as if some one had quickly flicked the light switch on and then quickly off again. A bit like dull lightning or something. Late last night we decided to drive over to the top of the trails right beneath the hydro lines, this is pretty much where we thought the lights were coming and going as explained. Well, we had a perfect vantage point, we saw everything unobstructed from our view on a huge rock over looking the river below. We decided then that what we were seeing was not normal, nor was it our imagination.

The activity was definitely below us and returning to the hydro lines not beside us, but to the ones on the other side of the river. This morning I walked 2 dogs on the trails beneath a clear blue sky and looked up in an open area just for the fun of it and saw a long silvery white shape with a projectile about 2 to 3 thousand feet. I'm not sure here, I'm guessing because an aircraft could be seen higher in the sky traveling west with a long trail or plume and I couldn't even hear it. I grabbed my digital camera and took a few shots, not sure if I was getting anything because of the glare on the camera screen, I'd look up to see where this silver thing was and it was still there flying very slowly east.

It looked like a shiny piece of long metal moving along the sky, no sound, no plume nothing. I watched it the whole time from beneath a tree I was that afraid to come into the open, and when a small aircraft flew noisily overhead it just simply disappeared. I kept checking the sky and then looked at my camera to see whether I captured anything and there was nothing. This was no doubt due to my own ineptness, I think I will have to revert to an SLR for my walks.

I was quite shaken by this, both of the dogs were very agitated and kept running a few feet away then returning to my side and I hooked them back up and decided to return the way I had come rather than finish my walk and we hurried on our way. No sooner did I come to the river with the cliff to my right (southeast) and I looked up and saw it above the cliff flying north at a lower altitude silently. I confess, I stayed where I was and just waited until I thought it was gone, the whole time the dogs kept pulling on their leashes and whining. About 10 minutes later I left the trails and drove home.

I don't know what to think, I am still quite upset by this, I have read with interest what a person from the UK wrote to you in a sighting report and I'm inclined to think the same thing, namely that what ever is up there is definitely looking for something, very deliberately and very methodically. As always, thank you Brian for this excellent opportunity to share our experience, as we try to make sense and work through this.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Dogs Senses The Presence Of A Ghost

Posted: February 15, 2008

Hi Brian, You asked for ghost stories so here come some more! Actually this is about three different dogs and three different ghosts.

We all know that animals sense things that we humans aren't consciously aware of. That is why when a dog sees a ghost you really know something strange is there!

The first story is about my German Shepherd/wolf cross. In Victoria where I live there are many locations known to have resident ghosts. A popular location for ghost hunting is the Oak Bay Golf Course, isolated, quiet and looking out over the ocean. One night my mother and I decided on a whim to leave the house about 11 P.M. and go look for the ghost. We took my dog with us. After an hour of sitting in the car and staring out over the golf course we had seen nothing at all resembling a ghost. We decided to give it another 10 minutes then go home. I then noticed a white haze forming across the greens and near some bushes on the edge of the ocean. So did my mom. We both acknowledged that what we were looking at could be normal fog or even our active imaginations. Then suddenly from the back seat my dog began a low growl. I turned and looked at him. He was on his feet (he'd been asleep up until then) hackles up and staring at exactly the spot we'd been looking at. The white haze was getting thicker and the dog was getting more agitated. Mom and I looked at each other, looked at the dog and then looked at the white fog slowly becoming more solid. We left!

The second dog story took place in Yaletown in Vancouver. My daughter lived in a seventh floor condo with her Border Collie. She had a corner condo and her windows looked down four floors to a storage locker building roof across the alley and along the alley below. Late one night she awoke to the sound of her dog barking non- stop in the living room. This was very unusual. Her dog seldom barked and had never barked indoors. The alley below was often very busy as it was a convenient shortcut. She had heard parties, fights and gun shots but it had never bothered the dog. Concerned she got up and found her dog staring at the window overlooking the alley. She would not stop barking until my daughter got quite firm with her. She then continued to quietly whine. Of course my daughter looked out the window to what was disturbing her dog. She opened the window so she could see the full length of the alley. Right away she heard two women talking. She also very clearly heard their footsteps. The only problem was there was no one there. For security purposes that alley was very brightly lit and there were no alcoves or doorways that a person could stand in. As she listened and watched she heard them walking towards her from the far end of the alley, pass right under her window and then continue to the end of the alley and around the corner. Although she could hear them very clearly talking and laughing and their foot steps, which sounded like they were walking on wet pavement (it was dry), there was no one in sight. The moment they "appeared" to walk around the corner the sounds stopped and the dog stopped fussing and curled up and went to sleep. The dog never again barked in the condo and my daughter never again heard the sounds of invisible people.

My last dog story took place near a large city in mid Canada. I am purposely vague about locations since the man who told me this story is reluctant to talk about it and I don't want to say anything that might identify him. I know him very well and have absolutely no reason to doubt his story. It happened several years ago. For reasons that aren't important to the story he, his wife and three dogs were staying in a very large but empty campground for a couple of months. Their tent was quite far from the others and on the edge of a large field. One evening the dogs were restless and not interested in eating or playing. When my friends went to bed the dogs, who were tied right outside the tent, had a hard time settling. Shortly after midnight the dogs started to whine and growl and the man got up to see what was going on.

He noticed the dogs were looking out across the empty field so he looked that way as well. The sky was clear and there was a bright moon shining. At the far edge of the field he saw a woman slowly walking towards them. She was easy to see in her long white dress. She was walking slowly but definitely in their direction and the dogs were jumping and spinning in their agitation. The man's first thought and concern was that it was another camper who was sleep walking. As she was obviously heading directly towards their tent he wanted to intercept her before she got tangled with the dogs. He walked a little way towards her then noticed something very strange. The field was not flat. It had bumps and hollows but she was floating across all the hollows. She was just above the ground. By now the dogs had given up barking and were huddled together whimpering. The man just stared, then realized the woman would be passing in front of the car. He waited until she was directly in front then reached in the open window and turned the headlights on.

She instantly disappeared, the dogs sighed and went to sleep. He looked around, went back to bed but stayed awake. His wife slept through the whole event was quite annoyed the next morning to find out what she had missed. The lady in white never returned and the dogs never had another bad night.

Hope you enjoyed the stories!

Thank you to the person for all the wonderful ghost stories.

Vernon, British Columbia Strange Noises & Dogs Franticly Barking

Posted: January 14, 2008

HBCC UFO Research Note: I just wanted to point out that alot of UFO sightings have come from Vernon, B.C. and the surrounding area.

Date: September 9, 2005 Time: Between 12:00 am and 1:00 am

Hi Brian, I wanted to report an unidentifiable noise that was over Vernon between those hours. I had been sitting up winding down after work and my porch door was open to the night noises. The noises were loud and different as I listened to dogs franticly barking, the wind was gusty and warm coming from a different direction for Vernon and I heard birds franticly calling. I also heard this beep, beep, beep at a steady high pitch. The noise was coming from above. I could only relate the noise to a metal on metal pitch beeping in the pulse of a vehicle backing up.

So what I want to report is the intensity of the sound and the response of the animals around the neighborhood. I was unable for some reason to go out on the balcony to investigate the noise, I can't explain that either. The noises suddenly stopped and I fell asleep just as suddenly. I never fall asleep that fast. It was a strange night.

Thank you to the person for the report.
