Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.
Date: October 27, 2011
Time: Evening.
Hey, I was out for a beach barbecue, in San Clemente State Park,
CA with a couple friends last night, and we noticed a fairly bright orange ball
that appeared slightly above the horizon shortly after sunset. At first, I
thought maybe it was a planet, but it was a bit too large, and oddly placed.
While we were trying to figure out what it could be, a second
orange ball appeared just above it, and a few seconds later, the bottom ball
disappeared. This process continued for quite some time.
The ball would start to grow a bit dim, and then the second would
appear above it, and the old one would flicker out. It seemed to occur every
four and a half minutes.
It was very strange, but since I live quite close to Camp
Pendleton Marine Corps Base, I thought perhaps some aircraft or some such was
being tested, or something of that nature. But having poured through Google
this morning for any information, all I found was your description of a similar
sighting you experienced.
Anyway, if you have any information, my friends and I are very
curious!
