Hello, it is October 22, 2012. At approximately 10:50 p.m. - 11:05 p.m. in Caledonia, Ontario I witnessed 3 orange glowing balls grouped close together in the sky above the Grand River and 1 that was a bit further away.
They looked like they were moving, but then suddenly faded away. Any idea what this might be?

Seen this in Winnipeg a few years ago with a group of my friends. Others in Winnipeg have as reported similar sightings in Aug 2012 and multiple people in various locations in Winnipeg in early jan 2013 (that I know of). This pattern actually seems quite common in these parts.
ReplyDeleteThe ones we saw years ago moved silently across the sky in a fixed triangular shape. Didn't look like it was very high off the ground and the lights appeared to have all been part of a single object.
Our assumption is that it was an experimental aircraft that that is still secret; similar to how the stealth bomber was mistaken for the longest time as a UFO.
I just read of a sighting on your site similar to something I saw years ago.
ReplyDeleteSometime around 1992-1994, during late summer, I was out with a friend on Simcoe St. north of Port Perry Ontario. We saw an orangish glow from roughly the west. It appeared to be the glow from a large fire.
We cut down some sideroads and made our way to Hwy. 12 in Greenbank. The glow was now north of us so we headed in that direction.
Just north of Greenbank maybe a mile or two there was an empty field on the west side of the highway. It was by now fully dark. The glow was coming from this field.
I stopped my truck on the side of the road and made my way towards the glow, thinking it was a grass fire. As I came into view of the glow, aproximately 100 ft. away, I saw three glowing orange balls, each maybe twice the size of a basketball, arranged in a perfect triangle, sitting in the field. There was no sound at all, and the light seemed to have a slight pulse to it.
As I watched, all three balls rose slowly at the same time, picking up speed a little at a time, to a couple hundred feet up, then seemed to accelerate straight up at a high rate of speed.
The following day, my friend and I talked to others who had seen the lights from a distance. We were waiting to see something in a local paper about it.
A few days after that, I asked my friend as well as the others I spoke to if they had heard anything about the lights. They all had the same response: "What lights?" At first I thought they were pranking me, then saw they were serious and completely mystified by my questions.
