Unexplained Sighting In The Area

Have you ever spotted strange lights in the sky? What about a fast moving object that defies the laws of gravity? If you haven’t, your chances of seeing a UFO in Northern B.C. is greater than any other region of Canada.

The communities of Terrace and Houston have just recently been named in the top 10 list of UFO sightings across Canada.

Terrace is the B.C. capital for sightings and third across the country, while Houston placed second in B.C. and fourth across the country.

The list compiled 483 eyewitness reports from around the country in 2002. One-third of all the sightings were reported in B.C.

Brian Vike is a leading Ufologist based out of Houston, B.C. who is the founder of the HBCC UFO website and investigator of strange phenomenon in the region since 2000. Since the survey was released, Vike says his phone has been ringing off the hook.

“People are aware now that there is actually someone who investigates  and talks to people and tries to figure out what people are seeing,“ says Vike.

Even in the last week there have been many sightings reported in the northwest region.

One “large disk shaped object” was spotted on February 22 over a one hour period by observers in three different areas of B.C.

The object was described as very large, slow moving, with bright lights on the underside and completely silent.

The first witness spotted the object in Mill Bay, Vancouver Island at 9:15 p.m. followed by two Alcan employees in Kitimat, B.C. at 10:20 p.m. Shortly after, a husband and wife stopped their vehicle between Terrace and Prince Rupert to watch the object.

On February 3, 2003 a Canfor employee out of Houston noticed three bright, hazy blue/white lights in the shape of a rectangle fly past them quickly at a very low altitude.

Other witnesses have come forward in Houston since the sighting was released to inform Vike that they had witnessed the same object 12 hours before the Canfor employee.

The Lakes District has also had it’s fair share of unexplained that have been investigated by Vike, who said he gets many calls from the area.

On February 14, 2002 two residents of Francois Lake noticed a bright fast moving object come towards, when all of a sudden it came to a complete stop and went totally dark.

The witness said that a bright flash of light was suddenly emitted from the object. They said a ray of light began to sweep the ground, which lit up a very large area. The object continued to scan the ground for a few minutes until it suddenly left the area at unprecedented speeds.

Vike also investigates the phenomenon of ‘crop circles’ that have been reported in the Vanderhoof area over the past few years.

While there have been hundreds of sightings in the northwest, many have been explained by military exercises or cosmic activity, such as planets or shooting stars.

“There is still so many of them that remain unexplained , but people are seeing things all the time ,” says Vike.

A film crew from the Canadian Life Network arrived in the area recently to start shooting a new series called “The Magnificent Obsession.”

Because of the surge of sightings in the northwest in the past two years, Vike was asked to take part in the documentary, which will include other Ufologists from the U.S. and England.

Vike is hoping that other people will come forward to report any strange occurrences, phenomenon, or generally, things that go bump in the night.

U.S. Army Service Personal Have A Unexplained Experience At Crailsheim Germany

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date: May or June 1980 Time: Evening

Message: In May or June of 1980 I was stationed in Crailsheim, Germany. One evening an Army buddy and me where given a ride out to a lake (approxamtlty 6 miles from town). There was suppose to be a large party out there.

When we arrived there were probably thirty or forty people, drinking and smoking hash, around a dying bonfire. My buddy and I had one beer each and decided to leave the lame party, and head back to town.

After walking about two miles we left the small paved road we were on and started across a field with two foot high grass. Soon I realized my buddy wasn't beside me. I started back through the now bent grass, until I came upon my friend laying on his back.

Worried, I ran over and looked down at him. Being from Minnesota, he looked as though he were laying in fresh snow, making snow angels.

At this point I figure someone from the bonfire either slipped him some drugs, or he is playing some, uncharacteristic, game. I'm start getting upset because all I want is to get back to town before the bars close.

I tell him to get up, so we can get back to town. He lays there looking up at me saying " you gotta see this". He says this a few times when I suddenly realize, he's not looking up at me. But rather up past me.

The last thing I remember is turning my head to look up and then slowly spiraling to the ground.

The next thing I remember is waking up walking, and I mean literally, one foot coming down in front of the other on the pavement (walking trail I believe).

At first I was disoriented and didn't know where I was. Soon I got my bearings and realized I was a half mile out of Crailsheim.

I figure it was three miles from the field to where I, I guess came to.

My buddy and I never spoke about that night, actually we very seldom spoke to each other after that night. We both left Germany in early within two months of that night (early July).

I left Germany almost twenty-five years ago. The first twenty-two years I rarely thought of that night, but the last three, almost daily.

The people I have told this story to have tried to explain it as some drug induced, or some sexual experience that has been blocked by my subconscious. I have too much awareness for those explanations.

I'd like to know if there has been any similar stories related to that area of Germany in that time period. Thanks.

Additional Information:

Hi Brian, Thanks for your quick response. I wish I could tell you that I turned and looked up into the belly of the mother ship, or that I saw even a flicker of a light in the night sky. But, unfortunately what I mentioned earlier is all I remember. As far as my buddy at the time, I haven't spoken to him since about two weeks after that night. I would like to also state that I have never, before or after that evening, blacked -out. Which makes what happened twenty-five years ago frustrating as hell.

It's hard for me to articulate the almost emotional numbness, until recently, I've felt towards that evening. When I would tell friends and family about it, they would say that it was very strange, while I would blow it off to maybe being overly tired that night.

There is one more thing that I remember. It's actually a feeling. I felt as though the U.S Army (which if I failed to mention, I served 6 years in) was looking out for me. Almost in an overly protective way. As an example; lets just say there were thing I did in my last two months in Germany I am not proud of.

Let me preface this next part by saying that I was a good soldier. I had planned to be a lifer. The following I have never spoken to anyone about.

One evening about a week after my night in the field, my platoon ( about twenty-five of us) were guarding an ammo site about twenty miles outside Crailsheim. On about the tenth night, of a two weeks assignment, I remember thinking that I had had enough of the Army. There was no big event that drove me to this realization. I had just had enough.( to this day I don't know where that thought came from) I walked out of the barracks, and along with another soldier I had told my plan to, climbed over the fence and left. I spent three days with an on again off again girlfriend.

When I met my platoon back at Crailsheim nothing was said by my platoon Sgt. or company commander. Everyone knew I was AWOL, it was no secret. but none of my superiors would mention it. The soldier I jumped the fence with, was only gone two hours before he went back to the ammo site. He was court marshaled. My last night in Crailsheim, my platoon Sgt came up to me at the NCO club. He said "Someone must really like you". I knew he was talking about the night I left the ammo site. I also know there was something else he wanted to say, but he never said it.

There were also times after that night in the field that I felt I was being watched. But nothing I can point to and say, one night I saw something hiding behind a tree.

Anyways, I came back to the States where I re-enlisted and served three years of honorable service filled with awards and commendations. (I taught basic training in Fort Bliss, Texas) I was suppose to go to Fort Lewis, Wa, but I was reassigned to Texas. Forty miles from White Sands. Hmmm. My life in the military could go on for hundreds of pages, but I wouldn't do that to you.

So thanks for your time. And no, I don't recall any strange experience from my time in, TX and N.M.

Today was the first time I've been to your site. I like it. Keep up the good work.

PS I'm believe firmly that we make our own choices and that no one can makes us do what we don't want, but I'll always feel guilty for the young soldier that climbed that fence with me.

Thank you to the fellow for the interesting story.

Unexplained Hovering Being Over Large Pond In Corner Brook Newfoundland (Written Report/Audio Interview)

From Brian Vike's UFO Files.

The Vike Report.

I decided to re-write this story to include more details and to correct the mistake I made in my estimated distances. I was out yesterday at the pond with someone and got a better estimation of distance.

This experience took place in late May, 1999 in a logged out valley 5 minutes outside the small city of Corner Brook, Newfoundland. I was out for a solo hike in the mid afternoon of a warm, overcast (no fog) calm day.

I have been living in Newfoundland since 1994 and have spent a great deal of time walking/skiing/camping/biking in this particular valley and have never had any experiences similar to this one.

Before I describe what I saw I will state that I am rational, lucid individual with no history of hallucinations. I work in the health care field and have, I would say, a strong foundation in critical thinking skills. I have no opinion of what it was that I saw. All I can do is describe my experience and try to convey a degree of the shock and disbelief that I experienced before and after the event.

After hiking for about an hour I reached the top of one of the low mountains at the edge of the cut line and was about to enter the woods when I felt this strong sense of uneasiness.

The fear seemed unwarranted so I kept going and I was again struck by an even stronger sense of discomfort so I turned around and took a short cut back out. I scrambled down the face of the low mountain and across a large bog and hiked out the majority of the path.

When I was about 5 minutes from the car I decided to turn up a different path which led to a pond about 2 minutes up a small dirt track.

The "front" of this pond is exposed and open, but the remaining 3/4 of the pond is surrounded by spruce trees that continue behind and around the pond.

I have spent countless hours sitting by this pond where I watch the beavers and their babies in the spring swimming and playing. As I was walking up the dirt track I stared straight ahead and was approaching the pond on my right side and as I reached the pond I noticed something out the corner of my eye.

Nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to see. I turned and there unobstructed, approximately 7 meters directly in front of me was a tall white humanoid figure floating just above the surface of the water, roughly in the middle of the pond. The figure was by my estimation, about 7 feet tall, dressed in a white suit that was consistent from head to toe.

The suit was not form fitting nor was it overly loose and had no designation or writing on it. The head was covered by what appeared to be a helmet that also seemed to be consistent with the suit. The hands appeared to have 10 digits, though I didn't count, and were covered in what appeared to be gloves, again consistent with the suit.

Also, this may sound strange and it's difficult to explain, but the figure appeared to have a soft glow around it, like it was radiating some light. The suit was gleaming white and the face area was covered by a dark shield.

The contrast of the gleaming white against the dark water and the dark woods behind the figure is what initially caught my attention. I would estimate that I stood in front of this figure, staring and observing for roughly 10 seconds before I felt physically able to run in the opposite direction. The figure appeared to be in a trance like state and floated motionless over the water "standing" in anatomical position (palms facing forward), legs slightly apart and head looking forward.

As soon as I turned to run I saw movement out the corner of my eye and then immediately heard the very clear sound of branches breaking on the far opposite shore. I didn't look back and began running for my life, as I was beyond terrified ( and quite frankly, had no desire to ever see it again). My body was coursing with adrenaline and don't think I have ever run so fast in all my life. I was shocked by how quickly I heard branches breaking and how there was no sound of splashing water, not so much as one splash.

I got back to my car and sped back to town and sat in my house wondering what to do, who to call, who to tell? This was the hardest part, not having anyone to talk to about this. These experiences can be incredible, but they can also be very isolating. How do you bring these things up in conversation?

"Nice weather we're having today...by the way, you'll never guess what I saw on my walk the other day....". It's for this reason I have only shared this story with a few people whom I trust. Now, after years of wondering I've decided to share it and see if there are any other people who may have seen something similar.

I have spent years trying to rationalize what it was that I saw, what I could have mistaken it for. I have come to this conclusion--- nothing can account for what I saw. This figure was real, it was alive, in close proximity to me and displaying abilities that I can't understand.

I realize this all sounds like science fiction, but it's not. You may not know me but I am taking the time to write this out because I think it's important for people to share experiences like this with others. I have included pictures of the pond where this took place (I still continue to walk there). If anyone has any questions or have had similar encounters, I would be very interested in hearing from you.

The audio interview was done with Brian Vike of The Vike Factor.

Witnesses Stopped Vehicles To Watch UFO Float Around In The Sky Over Smithers British Columbia

(From Brian Vike’s UFO Files) Re-posted by Brian.

Date: 2001
Time: Approx: 12:00 a.m.

I will start when I first noticed a UFO, way back in 2001.

It was the Summer time and I was coming home from my grandmother's house on Slack road in Smithers, B.C.. I noticed the bright white light in the sky immediately after departing my grandmothers house, and assumed that it was a large star or satellite.

When I got to the bottom of the hill, I realized that light was very bright and close, so I slowed down. By the time I reached highway 16, I was by the golf course and I had pulled over behind a truck who was also watching this thing.

I can describe why I ruled a plane flying by. I called the airport to find out if an medevac or any flights were due to arrive, and there weren't any.

The couple that was standing on the hill with me, thought that maybe it was a meteor, but it just floated in one spot. It was very close. I went home and told my husband, he laughed and said that I needed some sleep. It was almost midnight.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

If people have seen unusual lights or strange craft in the sky over British Columbia, Canada, please drop me a line and I will get your sighting report to a group for investigation. (Email: sighting@telus.net)

Strange Lights/UFOs Maneuvering Over The Woodmere Tree Nursery At Telkwa British Columbia

(From Brian Vike’s UFO Files) Re-posted by Brian.

May 4, 2004
Time: 11:30 p.m.

The night of the orange moon, I saw some strange lights happening above the trees near our home. It was 11:30 p.m. when they appeared.

It was scary because they went all over above the tree nursery and left. I am not sure if these are UFOs or not, but I can't describe what else they could be.

I hope that you could give some insight into what these things could be, if they are not UFOs. Thank you for you attention.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Unexplained Lights On The Ground Outside Of Houston British Columbia

(From Brian Vike’s UFO Files) Re-posted by Brian.

Date: Winter of 1998
Time: 3:00 a.m.

I was in our local store the other day when a fellow had seen the logo on my winter coat and asked did I belong to HBCC UFO Research. I told him I was it, (the one looking after HBCC UFO).

He started to tell me about a strange sighting he had back in 1998 when hauling logs out of the Morice Lake area which is approximately 80 kilometers southwest from Houston, B.C. I asked him if he could call me when the man found a little time. He did indeed call a couple of days later and told me what he saw that early winter morning.

The witness was driving along the Morice West Road and just came over the top of a hill. Looking straight ahead of him he saw what he described as aircraft landing lights which were sitting on the ground. The lights were extremely bright and white. There was no flashing nor did the light move. Whatever it was, it was not moving.

He also said there was no one logging in that area at that time. He also told me that a road which did lead into the area was blocked by a huge bank of snow and the road itself was covered with approximately four feet of snow.

The driver said he was really curious to know what he'd seen. The logger would have liked to have stopped but seeing the roads were icy and extremely slippery, a 70 ton load, plus other logging trucks coming behind him a kilometer away he thought it best to just keep going.

The witness got on his radio and asked the drivers behind him if anyone was doing any forestry work where he saw the light. Everyone called back telling him there was nothing in the area. (It would be doubtful that it would have been a helicopter at that time of the morning).

Also I asked if it could have been a snowmobile and he told me no. There were no signs of anyone going in along the snow covered road and that was the only access to the area where the light was. He told me all areas around where the light was sitting was dense forest.

As some of the truck operators drove up over the hill they too were able to see the light and found it very unusual.
It was a clear cold night and the northern lights were dancing across the sky.

I mentioned to him that the Huckleberry Mine was having a lot of sightings around it. He said he had also heard of a number of reports coming out of the area from the workers.

If people have seen unusual lights or strange craft in the sky over British Columbia, Canada, please drop me a line and I will get your sighting report to a group for investigation. (Email: sighting@telus.net)

Two Unexplained Objects Seen Over Cambridge Ontario (Venus And Jupiter)

Date:  March 13, 2012
Time:  Evening.

I live in Cambridge, Ontario, and I saw those same unexplained lights last night too. I wasn't sure if they were planets or stars, so I watched them for a better part of an hour.

During that time, the brighter of the 2 lights started to move a little, first to the right, then the left then up and down, then without warning it just disappeared, the second light then slowly faded till it was gone.

I have never seen anything like that before in my life.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Alaska Highway, Yukon Territory Unexplained Lights (UFO) - Missing Time ?

Posted: June 15, 2008

Date: September 1970
Time: Night time event.

Location of Sighting: Alaska Highway Yukon Territory.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 2
Shape of objects: Bright lights.

Full Description of event/sighting: Hi Brian

About a week ago I sent you an article from the Whitehorse Star titled "Santa, was that you". I sent it because I knew the people involved, the RCMP Officer very well and the others slightly. I have also looked at other Yukon sightings and because of what I've read I am sending you a report.

At the time of the event, I just left it as something I could not forget and could not explain. Now after reading of similar reports and from a person (RCMP) I know to be very calm, levelheaded and truthful, I feel better mentioning what I saw. I will also mention that he was not happy about his sighting and did not like to talk about it.

The drive from Whitehorse to Vancouver is about 1500 miles. When I was living there the first 800 miles from Whitehorse was a empty isolated gravel road. There were very few communities and no side roads. For many hundreds of miles on both sides of the road were nothing but trees, rivers and mountains.

In those days if we wanted to drive "outside" we usually drove non stop with at least two drivers. I was working as a technician at the local Hospital and decided to drive to out with one of the Doctors who also needed to go to Vancouver. At this time I'd already driven the Highway five times, so was quite comfortable with the idea of the long drive.

We left early on a Friday afternoon and took turns driving. In September the sun sets early in the Yukon so it was not long before we were in complete darkness. There was no light except from the headlights and the stars. Very late at night it was my turn to drive. As soon as he got in the passenger seat the Doctor fell asleep. The drive was easy. There was no other traffic and all I had to watch for were animals and broken grader blades that could shred a tire.

For at least half an hour I drove with nothing to see but the gravel road, our headlights periodically reflecting off train tracks on the left side the road and a faint outline of trees. Off in the distance I saw the bright light of an approaching train. It was flickering as it passed behind trees and got steadily brighter but before we met, it was out of sight. Assuming the tracks had moved farther from the road I thought nothing of it.

For another two hours I drove and nothing had changed. The doctor was still sleeping. There was still nothing but gravel road, train tracks and tree outlines. I began to feel I was on a treadmill! Then again I saw the distant light of another approaching train. This time it got brighter much faster and within minutes it was only a few hundred feet in front of me. With nothing else around but blackness the light was blinding. Then in a great flash it streaked along the train tracks and disappeared behind us.

The train had made no noise and there were no following cars. I stopped the car. The Doctor woke up and asked why I'd stopped. All I said was "We've been following train tracks for two hours and I've seen two trains go by" He looked at me oddly and all he said was "I'll drive". Numbly and uneasily I got out of the car and we changed places. We never spoke of it again.

You see, the problem was this. The train from Whitehorse is the White Pass & Yukon Railway. About 10 miles out of Whitehorse it turns west, leaves the Alaska Highway and heads to Skagway. There were (and are) NO train tracks or trains running beside the Alaska Highway hundreds of miles from any towns and in the middle of nowhere.

I know I saw two large bright lights and non existent train tracks. What I really saw I don't know. You often ask, was there any missing time? I don't know. There were no landmarks to orient where we were. I do know we finally arrived in Vancouver at least three hours later than we'd planned but in 1500 mile there could be rational reasons for the delay. Although we were not aware of any delays, ten minutes here and there can add up.

So Brian. This is my contribution to the stories of the Yukon lights that were appearing in the 60' and 70's.

Thank you to the witness for the very interesting report.
