Milburn Lake, B.C. Bright White Light Shines Down On Kids Ice Skating

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: 1977 - 1978 ? Time: After dark.

The second strange thing to happen there was again with the same two friends. We were ice skating on Milburn Lake in or about 1977 or 1978, it was after dark and were about to head in of the ice when a bright white light shone down on us, at first we thought it was a parent with a flashlight come to collect us for the night. After a few seconds we realized the light was shinning straight down. I don't have to tell you how fast three scared kids can move.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

RM Of Rockwood 30km N Of Winnipeg, Manitoba Triangular Craft And More

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: 1976 (? - late 70s) Time: 11:00 p.m. (? - or later)

Location of Sighting: RM of Rockwood 30km N of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 2 Shape of objects: Triangular.

HBCC UFO Research Note: Just to let the witness and everyone know, I do not post anyone's personal information. The only time names are added is if the witness insists that their name be included in their sighting report, other than that, no private information is added to the reports.

Full Description of event/sighting: Please withhold my name from the story if you publish it on the site please.

I just read the Transcona Manitoba report (and letters) on your site. Oddly enough on the 8th of October on abovetopsecret (which I had just started posting on this month) I posted my story which took place in the late 70s about 30km North of Winnipeg in the RM of Rockwood. The Transcona triangle sighting reminded me eerily of my own sighting (although mine was at night) which would have occurred around the same year(s) proposed by the Transcona letter.

The following is my story:

Before I start, I'll explain my father was involved in rocketry, and worked in a rocket manufacturing plant located about 20 - 40 miles from my home in a rural area of the Canadian prairies. Because of this, I was quite familiar with seeing man-made aircraft including military aircraft etc. And I knew what they looked like at night. One of the advantages I guess of having a father who worked in the military/industrial complex" as it were I guess, is you have exposure and access to a lot of pictures, booklets, were taken to air-shows etc.

When I was young, about 14 or maybe 15, so this would be in the late 70s, my brothers and I were allowed to stay up late as my Aunt and her daughters were over for a barbeque. It was a perfectly clear evening, but as it got later there wasn't much in particular for me (and the other kids who were "played out" and tired) to do. So I began staring at the stars. While looking Northward about oh say 35/40 degrees up from the horizon, I noticed a funny star, and when I looked closer it was actually 3 stars in the form of a triangle. Only, it quickly dawned on me these weren't 3 separate stars, these were all part of one object that was rotating and the lights at the corners of the triangle rotated in a counter-clockwise direction, fairly slowly, and the object itself moved slowly left and then slowly right.

Then astonishingly, the ship zipped off. It crossed a good portion of the night sky in only a heartbeat. It was absolutely an incredible speed, unbelievable speed judging from the height of the object that would have been a huge distance to move. But I still managed to follow the movement (with some difficulty) and saw the object (still slowly rotating counter-clockwise). The object stood stationary for a few moments then whoosh - went back to the relative position I had originally viewed it at. At this point I knew it was something not-of-this-earth and pushed my younger brother to go get the binoculars while I kept watch of the object. By the time my brother got back the object had made a few shorter distance "hops" and by the time I put the binoculars in hand I just caught a new arrival - another object - a second set of triangle lights that came in (from nowhere it appeared?) and slowly joined the original. Through the weak binoculars you could clearly see 3 distinct lights in the form of a triangle, and from time to time in the counter-clockwise rotation a light that seemed to come into view on top of the object (this was without a doubt a 3-dimensional object). Both craft continued to come very close to one another. My mother at this time finally was curious as to what we were doing and came over to see what the fuss was.

She looked in the area of the sky my brother and I witnessed the objects in. but she didn't seem to see what we were trying to show her. Although I think she saw more than she let on, but wanted to not scare us - or she may have not caught a glimpse of the two objects spinning in the night sky - she had been drinking most of the evening. At that point she decided we needed to call it an evening and get to bed. So we left the backyard and our vigil and did as we were told.

Growing up I remember some evenings waking up terrified in bed for no apparent reason as though I had a nightmare but couldn't recall the dream. Some nights I would have an overwhelming irrational fear before going to bed as well. I did have a morning when I awoke and experienced "sleep paralysis" I couldn't move although my brain was awake and I could see. I've noticed that this/these types of experiences sometimes occur to people who have witnessed UFO phenomena.

Anyways, it was that evening I knew, without a doubt that there is intelligent life outside of our little ball of dirt, and that they were visiting us. I have continued to watch the skies, and continue to catch glimpses now and then of things I can't easily explain.

Thank you to the eyewitness for the fascinating sighting report.

Meaford, Ontario Object Changes Color & Makes Sporadic Patterns

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Summer of 1976 Time: Evening

(I remember more detail): In the summer months of 1976, a Saturday, I was in Meaford, Ont. with a group of my friends and my boyfriend. Earlier that day we had gone horseback riding and my horse threw me when he went into a full gallop from a trot. My foot was stuck in the stirrup and I still had hold of his reins. I hadn't yet hit the ground until he stopped dead.

That evening, everyone was partying, drinking and smoking but I opted for sitting on a boulder looking up at the sky. In Meaford, there is a small mountain with a flat peak. I was observing the sky above it. Again, the sky was filled with stars. I pin-pointed an 'object' in the distance which looked like a plane due to the colour changes of the lights. After watching it for several minutes, it seemed like it was stationary and hadn't moved. Then it darted across the sky at a great speed, changing colours and in sporadic patterns for several minutes. Off in the distance, a real plane appeared and the 'object' disappeared. While this was happening, I felt no threat or fear. Simply awe and a connection.

I wanted to share this experience with my friends and over the course of the next hour or so, I convinced 3 of them, individually, to sit with me on the boulder. The 'object' performed it's wondrous dance, at different intervals, for each of them. My first male friend said that it was simply my powers of persuasion. My second female friend said that she just didn't want to deal with the unknown. My boyfriend said "It's not real. It's just a paranoid illusion" and left. Each of them were afraid and refused to discuss it from then on.

The events that followed are perplexing and seem to be in bits and pieces. I have no recollection of the time between sitting on the boulder and laying on my friends couch. The weather was not cold or damp yet I shivered, uncontrollably, all night.

A few weeks later, my doctor told me that I was in my second trimester of pregnancy. No symptoms, no body changes, religiously taking the 'pill' and still having a regular period each month. The rest is another story.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Sudbury, Ontario Circular Shaped Object

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: August 1975 Time: Evening

Number of witnesses: 5 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Circular (distant)

Full Description of event/sighting: With friends in a row boat near Sudbury Ontario I saw what I thought was a satellite. After showing my friends this object we observed it for several minutes. After a short time this object seemed to ricochet across the night sky, we followed it. It stopped for a short time then appeared to glow or seemingly smaller objects appeared around the main one. Then in an instant it "skipped" or "accelerated" itself out of our sight. I never reported this and am not sure if any of my friends did.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Loyola Campus, Montreal, Quebec Unknown Object Acting Erratically

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Spring of 1975 Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.

I have one personal sighting story from the spring of 1975. Myself and 5 high school friends were in a schoolyard close to Loyola campus in NDG, enjoying the late May or early June evening. It was around 10:00 pm. We had climbed onto the roof of a maintenance shack attached to the school and had a good view of the sky, we faced west towards Dorval airport (about 7 -10 K away) and were watching the planes as they took off and landed.

Someone pointed out a light that looked like one of the planes circling for landing that didn't behave like the rest. We watched it move slowly across the sky from left to right, then it stopped. It sat there for about 30 seconds then abruptly started moving in the opposite direction at least three times as fast as any plane we'd been watching. It repeated the whole process again but stopped in the middle this time. It then shot straight upwards and disappeared.

We all knew we'd seen something very strange. The father of one of the girls present at the sighting was a university professor and UFO buff/researcher at the time (name removed - maybe remove name). We found out the next day that he had received numerous calls about the sighting from all around the Montreal area.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Paipoonge Township, Outside Of Thunder Bay Ontario Lights Chasing One Another

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Approx: Mid 1970s Time: Evening

Message: In my younger years (approx. mid 1970's), our family home was approximately 20 miles outside of Thunder Bay, ON, Canada on Concession 6 in Paipoonge Township. Myself and 5 other people (adults and young teens - both Canadian and Americans) witnessed two lights chasing each other across the milky way at high speeds and tight angles that an aircraft is incapable of travelling. They zig-zagged directions and changed speeds in a game of chase for approximately 20 seconds. The two lights then came to a sudden stop when a third light approached equally fast from another angle. The three lights formed a triangle for a short period of time (approx. 5 seconds) then very quickly separated ways in three different directions. As they travelled they disappeared. The lights appeared as brighter stars within the milky way. We noticed them because of their "very" unusual pattern of movement. We could not make out any shapes.

Thank you to the eyewitness for the interesting report.

Transcona, Manitoba Objects Stunned Residents & Object Hovers Over Highway

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: 1975 or 1976 Time: Evening.

Brian, With regards to your recent phone conversation concerning UFOs, the following are the events which I witnessed, each several months apart, in 1975 or 1976

I've included as much detail as I can recall, perhaps more than necessary, but you can edit it. I hope I have explained it well enough to make sense. Feel free to call me if you have any questions or if it is not clear enough.

The occurrences regarding the "star" which enlarged to the size of a large moon (though oval instead of round like the moon) is the one which is completely unlike anything I have ever heard or read about. It you know of a similar sighting I would be very interested in hearing or reading about it.

I think my daughters (names removed) and others who know me, would agree that I'm quite stable - minded, not easily excited, and I question everything !

Thank you for your interest.

In July, 1973, I moved with my husband and my daughter, aged 11, into a house on the western outskirts of Transcona, a Winnipeg suburb. It was part of a new government development, one block of houses backed by government owned Condos. The houses, all along one side of the street, faced older, privately owned homes across from us. It was a couple of years before we got cement sidewalks and street and another couple before streetlamps were installed. At the eastern end of our street, Plessis Road, was well-lit and part of the older section of Transcona. Our new street, Kernaghan Ave., was only one block long.

I believe it was the summer and fall of 1975 or 1976 when several unexplained events occurred, months apart.

Incident #1

On a beautiful sunny day, my husband and I were chatting with a neighbor lady in front of our house. At about the same moment, we all noticed two triangular - appearing objects, gleaming against a clear, cloudless blue sky in the north, northwest.

We couldn't determine if the outward projection was part of the main object or a short, powerful energy steam - certainly not like the jet-stream of some aircraft. It was more solid looking and bright. They shone like stars, probably from the sun which was in the northwest, and the object were absolutely motionless for perhaps 3 to 5 minutes.

Then, in perfect unison, they shot upward, then turned very sharply and sped away in a north, northeastern direction and disappeared. The entire motion took only a second or less.

We couldn't judge the altitude, though they appeared to be about the size of large, bright stars. We agreed that the speed had to be in excess of 2000 miles per hour, probably a gross understatement.

Incident #2

On evening I went to bed while my husband stayed up to read in the living room. It was around 10:00 p.m., or so, but I couldn't sleep. After about a half hour, for no reason other than restlessness (it was very quiet), I got up and stood at the window which faces north. I was gazing at the stars which were bright against the dark sky. No streetlamps had been installed yet which made the stars more visible than we normally see in the city.

When I turned my attention to the right, the northeast, I caught sight of what appeared to be a star, then a plane, but it was moving very erratically toward the northwest. It stopped every 5 to 20 seconds, as a plane will appear to do when changing directions. But in this case the bright light never stopped or dimmed, but remained steady. It would stop, with no regularity as to distance between stops, and then continue on it's path.

I was quite fascinated and continued to watch it as it made its way across the sky in this fashion, as though its intention was to be seen. When it reaches a point in the northwest, it began to curve southward and continued in it's stop and go pattern. When it appeared, I would lose sighting of it. I ran through the living room to the front door, insisting that my husband come too. We went outside and stood on the sidewalk facing west. Beyond the end of the street was open prairie, undeveloped for several miles and quite dark at night. The lights from Winnipeg could be seen on the horizon beyond that. Even there, the sky was dark and stars clearly seen.

My husband and I stood silently watching the "star" as it continued its southward path. When it was exactly in line with out sidewalk, it stopped for a few seconds, then suddenly it zoomed toward us in a direct line (more than half the distance, I would guess) and as it came towards us it increased in size until it became the size of a large moon, like a harvest moon, except oval in shape.

It glowed in a very bright, yet soft light and seemed to pulse as it hovered there for perhaps ten seconds, then it zoomed back to its original size and position. It stayed there for a few more seconds (10-15), then continued its journey southward and we soon lost sight of it as it disappeared behind the black silhouette of tall trees.

I turned to my husband, who looked stunned, and asked him "Did you see what I saw and what it did?"

He shook his head and went inside and refused to talk about it. He later denied he'd seen anything unusual and I never spoke to him about it again. He seemed quite shaken at the time and I felt that he might have been afraid. However, I'm not so sure of that now, in light of another event concerning another neighbor.

Incident #3

Later one night, perhaps close to midnight, I sat alone in the living room, reading. he house was in darkness except for my reading lamp. The sofa where I sat faced the larger window, looking north, and the drapes were partly open. Outside, it was very dark and the sky was covered with an unusually thick layer of very dark clouds which I hadn't noticed earlier. They were very low.

Very suddenly, the entire room lit up as bright as daylight and I rushed to the window in time to see a bright light above the clouds, moving toward the north. I couldn't see the craft, but judging from the expanse of light coming through the clouds, it appeared to be the size of a football field - the nearest description I can give. It was moving steadily, directly northward until it vanished from my sight, rather slowly. I would guess no more than 40 to 50 miles per hour, and there was absolutely no sound or vibration of any kind, nor any other sound or activity from any local source.

I know it was not a signal light from the Winnipeg airport which was more then 10 miles to the west, because on the few occasions when I observed that light, it moved in an arc, counter clockwise, and the circular path was evident, besides which it would have reflected on the underside of the clouds. The light I saw moved in a straight direct path northward until it faded and disappeared.

In time, I got to know another neighbor who lived across the street on Kernaghan Avenue and we became friends. One day I told her about the incident (#2) concerning the "star" that became huge, and mentioned my husband's reaction and refusal to discuss it. She then told me of her strange experience.

I few years earlier, she and her husband had been driving home to Winnipeg (Transcona), her husband at the wheel. It was quite late and very dark and still some miles from the city. They suddenly saw a very large bright ball, fiery orange red which descended from the sky and stopped, perhaps 10 feet above the road, quite low, and appeared to be in the diameter, roughly the width of the highway. Her husband slowed the car, and stopped. Perhaps 200 yards or so before the object. It was apparent they would not be able to continue and would have been foolish to attempt the drive under and passed it. They watched in silence for what seemed to be several minutes as it hovered above the road. Then it lifted off, going straight upward until it disappeared from site. She said they never spoke the rest of the way home and she assumed he was as stunned as she was.

However, the following day, upon recalling the incident, she tried to discuss it with him, but he claimed he saw no such thing and had no recollection of stopping the car. Is it possible that both he and my husband really did not witness these things and were perhaps in some sort of trance?

We moved from Kernaghan Avenue in September of 1988 and I have not seen these neighbors since. During the years 1974, 1975, 1976, my husband was away a lot, working up north on hydro dam projects. There were many changes in my life and I put the events behind me. Never recording dates or events, but the details are still vivid in my mind.

My husband and I separated in 1986 and later divorced. He died in May 2003.

I have heard many strange stories from people whose honesty I trust, who are reluctant to confide except in someone they believe is trustworthy, and so I consider myself fortunate in this regard.

I only believe what I cannot find any other explanation for, and I also believe that there will be many more such occurrences in the future.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Montreal, Quebec Ball Of Fire

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: July, 1974 Time: 9:45 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Ball of fire

Full Description of event/sighting: I was 10 years old at that time, and I was walking on the sidewalk to my friend's house when my mother called me. When I turned around, I saw this giant tip, that I think was a ball of fire passing over the 5 story building that I use to live in and it was heading towards Dorval Airport. My friend and I ran to see if it was going to crash, but we didn't see a thing. But since that sighting I had, I do believe there is something out here that's not from this world. I still do some research on the phenomena. With the digital camera that is on the market and affordable we will soon find out.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Golden Lake (Lac Golden) Val David, Quebec Object Hovers Then Shoots Off

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Mid-summer 1974 (maybe 1975) Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.

Approach Direction: Stationary at first. Departure Direction: Towards north (towards Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts). Witness Direction: Westerly.

Description: I was walking home from the Golden Lake Country Club around 10 pm and I was about 14 or 15. It was quite warm so I didn't have a sweater. Suddenly, I was compelled to stop. It was as though the breeze had just stopped and the air seemed very still. I remember getting Goosebumps. I was staring toward the west at the silhouette of Mont Condor. We had local nicknames for each of the peaks of Mont Condor. King's was the highest and from there, an object of white light hovered over the tree-line, and then shot off into the atmosphere with a northerly vector. The acceleration seemed instantaneous and the object blinked from sight.

I felt frightened and it took me a minute to regain control of my rationality. I do remember running from light post to light post in order to get home. The feeling has stayed with me all of these years.

I know I was witness to something either ethereal or otherworldly.

Color/Shape: White object, circular

Height & Speed: 1/2 mile away 100 feet over the mountain. It reminded me of a shooting star... only falling up instead of down.

TV/Radio/Press: Not that I am aware of.

Thank you to UFOINFO for this report. http://ufoinfo.com/

Peterborough, Ontario Two - Four Oval Objects

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Summer 1974 Time: 10:00 - 11:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 2-4 Shape of objects: Oval-round.

Full Description of event/sighting: My cousin and I were walking home from a friend's, when we reached the Stewart St. and Townsend St area by the railroad tracks in what is roughly south central Peterborough. My cousin (name removed) looked up and said "Oh look". When I looked up I saw 2 oval shaped bluish objects traveling North in a zig zag pattern which I have never seen before or since. When I looked up it was straight up, and I followed these things to about a 50-60 degree angle into some trees. It was less than 10 seconds from the time I saw them to the time they disappeared.

They were incredibly fast. I saw jets in the same area years later when my uncle lived in the same area that took at least twice as much time to cover the same area. The most distinctive thing about them was the zig zag motion of traveling. They traveled in a "W" pattern, just left, right, left etc, amazing, I new immediately that they were not anything I had heard about and even at 13 I was well informed. When I asked my cousin what she had saw she told me "I saw 4 UFO's that split up, 2 went north 2 went east." (Name removed) would have been about 16-17 at the time. I've seen meteors and comets over the years but nothing like this experience.

Additional Information:

Weather conditions were clear no clouds. No moon that I remember. Not overcast or raining.

I spotted the UFO's, moving side by side, at approx a 50-65 degree angle, moving south to north. My cousin saw 4 all together, they split and 2 went east and 2 went north. No sound. It was a quiet night and I have excellent hearing. No trail.

Best I can say is that they moved in a left to right fashion very unusual, they moved in unison in the WWWWWW just back and forth. They did not leave the straight line moving north but they did move back and fourth.

Shape was oval/round, the oval was not elongated not perfectly round either. Bluish in colour, texture unknown. Moving faster than anything I have ever seen.

Distance would be difficult to guess. They were high enough to look smaller than a dime. That's 1 UFO smaller than a dime. Not both UFO's smaller than a dime.

Again the most notable thing about them was the left to right movement. I have seen other things in the sky, I have been interested in astronomy for sometime and have seen many things but nothing like this.

My cousin was the one that spotted them and I don't know which way they came from when she picked them up but they moved from South to North when I saw them.

There were no lights, portholes or anything I could see above the disc, all I could see was from the bottom. But there was a bluish light coming off of the bottom of the discs.

The area has no airport, it is outside of town on the South side about 2-3 km. No military base. No research facilities that I know of. The only notable feature would be the General Electric Factory 1 block away. I worked at this factory for 2 years and I don't know of any research being done there. The most notable thing they do there is make nuclear reactor fuel pellets for the Candu reactors and large engines for airplanes like the Dash 7 and 8's. They also make large generators for large electrical plants around the world. And I'm pretty sure they weren't making UFO's in the basement at least they never let me ride in one.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

North of Toronto Ontario, Hwy 48 Very Large Two Storied Oval Shaped UFOs

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: 1974 Time: 10:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Very large two storied oval shaped.

Full Description of event/sighting: My father, mother, myself, my three small children driving north on Hwy 48 north of Toronto (Ontario) about 30 miles. Mom and I were sitting in the front with my father driving. Mom and I saw a massive object to our left in a field. It was much larger than a farm combine in the air about 50 feet off the ground. It had windows which were lit and it seemed to be revolving. It was frightening. I said to my mother "What is that?!!" She looked at me and said "Don't frighten the children". We never spoke of it again until a year ago. Never mentioned it to a soul for all those years. It was not my first sighting. I reported seeing with my husband about fifteen miles from the first sighting on County Rd 23, Brock Township, Durham Region a large white light at the side of the hwy. We stopped the car and immediately from this white came three objects, two flew horizontally, one vertically at a high rate of speed.

We carried on into town and when we returned the hydro was off in the subdivision. The weather good, but hydro not off in town. We proceeded into our house and there was one of the objects over the field behind our house. I had a reporter from the Beaverton Express come and do an article regarding this and shortly after I heard from a neighbor who told me she had been watching them for weeks, but did not want to tell anyone else. I can find the archival newspaper with some work. Around the same time a police officer we knew told us that scientists were performing experiments on the frozen lake near us, Lake Simcoe. He went out there and they informed him they were performing tests regarding a black hole into space. The time frame have been about 1974. The thing that really bothers my mother and myself is that we had never spoken of the incident on the highway with the cylinder type object until recently and my father never mentioned it. Gallants Deer Lake Airport, Newfoundland Lights Hovering Over The Ground

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: December 1973 Time: 9:00 p.m.

Full Description of event/sighting: Driving to Deer Lake Airport in December of 1973, my friend and I saw 3 bright lights hovering close to the ground ahead, thought the light was a car with one headlight. Two more came out of nowhere and joined, and all 3 went straight up into the sky very quickly and stopped, zipped together in formation, straight lines up, down and sideways. They went directly above car and as we stopped they sped out of sight over the hill tops. We continued to Deer Lake and picked up friend, never discussed the incident to anyone until about 1996 when we met in Vancouver.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Oshawa, Ontario Silvery - Aluminum Round UFO

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: August (?) 1973 Time: Approx: 9:00 p.m.

Approach Direction: Stationary when first seen. Departure Direction: East. Witness Direction: East.

Description: I was standing at the corner of Hortop Street and Rossland Road in Oshawa Ontario. The time was approximately 21:00 hrs. I had just left a variety store and was walking eastbound across the parking lot.

I observed a large round object hovering over what appeared to be the east of Simcoe Street and north of Rossland Road. The object was extremely large as it appeared to the size of approximately 1/2 a city block.

I went back into the store and told my friend to "come outside now!" He did and we both stared at the object for about another 3 (at least it seemed that long) minutes.

The object slowly began to move eastward and because of trees and houses eventually went out of sight. We went further south towards Rossland road to see it again but it was gone. Seemingly vanishing into thin air.

I have over the years told many people of the sighting, but since that night, my friend has refused to speak of, or even admit that we saw the object.

Color/Shape: Colour - Silvery/Aluminum

Shape - Round.

Lights - red, blue, yellow. (cannot recall if the lights were stationary or circled around the lower section of the object) (cannot recall if the lights blinked on and off or if they remained constant)

Width (approximate) - 100 to 150 feet across.

Height (approximate) - 1/4 the width. About 30-40 feet.

Height & Speed: Height of object from ground - 200 to 250 feet.

Departure speed - 30 to 40 miles per hour. Sighting lasted approximately 4 to 5 minutes.

TV/Radio/Press: Not reported to any media. Who would believe a couple of 16 year old kids?

You may share this report with HBCC.

Thank you for allowing me to finally put this on record.

Wilmer - Near Windemere, British Columbia A Circular Shaped Craft

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: 1973 - No month given. Time: Daytime close to dusk

One afternoon three girls were in a farmers field on their way to the hayshed to enjoy a cigarette unbenowns to their parents. After their sojourn to the shed they thought it was time to go home again and walked back down the field where there was a hole in the fence close to Sandy Bend Road. Before they got to the fence they heard a sound like a vehicle trying to start, similar to the engine turning over and over. They all looked in both directions but there was nothing to be seen. The same noise happened again but they could see no vehicle anywhere. Suddenly they realised that the sound was coming from above their heads. Looking skywards they saw a circular shaped craft with different coloured lights around the cir*****ference, and the object was silver/metallic in the centre.

All three girls were stunned, scared and spooked and ran as fast as they could towards their homes. One of them doesn't remember exactly how she got back to her parents. She had no real recollection of the path she took but when she arrived she told her mother about her experience. The other two girls were so scared they got the first girls dad to take them home. None of them seemed to realise how long the occurrence was, but realised it was way longer than they planned to be away from home, in fact it had become quite dark.

The whole episode was never talked about again and the mother didn't want to discuss it.

This story was recalled to me by the first girls' sister (and I also took a telephone interview with this witness). I plan on contacting one of the other girls to get her story of what happened but so far I've been very busy and will endeavour to do that as soon as I can.

I would like to thank the witnesses for the report.

SW Calgary, Alberta Three Witnesses To A Solid White Triangle

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: August 2, 1972 Time: 0315

Number of witnesses: 3 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Triangle. Full Description of event/sighting: This was a solid white triangle appearing out of the south. With a steady speed, it proceeded northward. The base of the triangle was the leading edge. It came to a full stop directly over us. It was stationary for about 5 seconds. It rotated 90 degrees to the left (now facing the west). Stopped again for about 5 seconds. Then it proceeded directly to the west.

As this was roughly 33 years ago, some details I no longer recall (i.e., precisely where and when in the sky it appeared and disappeared.

There was no sound. The color was solid white. Against the night sky, I would compare the base of the triangle to be nearly the same as the diameter of the full moon. The height of the triangle was about a quarter to maybe a third of the length of the triangle.

I called the Calgary Planetarium the next day or so to report it. They sent out to my home a Mr. Allen. A gentleman in his late 50s or early 60s. He took our statements, and indicated a similar object was seen in other locations in Calgary at different times. Once a 9:00 p.m., another at 10:00 p.m., then finally ours at 3:15 a.m.

At the conclusion of the report, Mr. Allen said he would get back to us with any additional information. I have not heard from him.

I am interested to know of others with a similar experience, or of any database that may have my original report in it.

Thank you to the witness for the interesting report.

Location of Sighting: Prince George, B.C. Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Orange ball.

Full Description of event/sighting: 1972. Both my former wife and I saw a orange ball come toward us and it flash before our eyes. I thought I was nuts. I asked her if she had seen it as I had. She said that she had. We were driving home to my parents house and she was sitting in the car right beside me. I looked up and I saw this orange ball coming out of the sky towards us, then a flash and then it was gone.

Topley Landing, British Columbia A Bright Luminous Sphere

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Early Spring of 1972 Time: Evening (dusk)

The second sighting I was alone. I am a heavy duty mechanic and was working for the Houston, B.C. branch of Finning Tractor at the time on a temporary transfer. During one of my field outings in early spring (not sure of the date) I had just completed repairs on a piece of logging machinery on a landing of a logging operation near Topley Landing on Babine Lake. Dusk was setting in as I travelled the logging road back to the highway and the trip back to Houston. As I began across another landing on the logging road I was startled to see what appeared to be a bright luminous sphere across the landing to my left. Venturing a guess I would say that the sphere may have been between 10 and 20 feet in diameter. The sphere rose upward off the landing and almost immediately began to accelerate upward at an incredible rate until it was out of sight. The time from first sighting on the ground until it was out of sight could not have been more than 5 seconds. Events like this make one entertain the thought that perhaps I was hallucinating as this does not fit in with my normal worldview.

I hope you find this interesting and that it could tie in with similar sightings in the same time frame and locations.

Tranquille, North Of Kamloops, B. C. Lights Move Apart From One Another

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Early 1970's Time: Evening.

Hi Brian, By the way, minutes after I finished the interview with you the other Friday, my younger sister (the one from the 1968 sighting in Tranquille) called from Washington State and I told her about my interview with you and how you had asked me if anyone else in my family had seen any other UFO's. I was unaware of this when I was speaking to you, but my sister and my grandparents had a sighting that I was not aware of. It was in the early 1970's and my grandparents and sister were driving home to Tranquille after going out for dinner in town. My sister said they saw two lights side by side flying west away from the airport. At first, they thought they were seeing the wingtip lights from a plane that had just taken off from the airport, but after about a minute or so, the lights kept moving west, but started moving away from one another while still flying west, i.e. the north "wingtip" light started veering north while the south "wingtip" light veered south. The lights eventually disappeared. I asked her if the lights were flashing like an aircraft wing light but she said no and they were just solid white lights. Anyway, just thought I would pass that along to you.

Thank you to the person for relating the sighting report.

Nova, Scotia UFO Making Zig Zag Pattern In The Sky

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: 1971 Time: Evening

Number of witnesses: 4 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: N/A

Full Description of event/sighting: Looking up at the night sky a friend pointed out a satellite going across the sky. All four of us were looking at that point since back in 1970 seeing any satellite in a night sky was still sort of new. The UFO went from moving in a straight line to moving in an exact zig zag pattern and then faded from sight. Each of the four of us agreed right then we had seen the exact same thing.

British Columbia UFO Reports

Posted: December 26, 2007

Yes I do believe in UFO's. I have seen a few over the years. About a dozen of us saw a huge triangular ship in Tsawwassen near the Tsawwassen Ferry about 25 miles out of downtown Vancouver. It had about 9 round red lights that were spaced evenly on its edges. The ship looked huge according the distance the red lights were spaced. It was around 8 PM, though it was dark out the size was easy to distinguish. A few days later around 5:30 am a huge triangular shape UFO was hovering over Tssawwassen Hill in Delta, BC which overlooks the Tsawwassen Ferry terminal.

Back in 1971 on the Queen Charlottes we watched a round UFO ship which was orange in color with a bright green band through the center of the craft hovering across Masset village to Masset Island. It had beamed a foot wide band of light on our house, about 10 feet up from the ground. They could have responded to us because we (7 of us) were blinking flashlights at it while we stood watching from the beach shoreline and the night was clear. About a week and a half ago in the same area there were bright balls of light dancing around. Many residents here on Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands) witness UFO's so it in not usual for us to see them.

Thank you to the person for sending along the report.

Cornerbrook, Newfoundland A Cluster Of White Lights

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: December 26, 1969, 70, or 71 (?) Time: Between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Approach Direction: One object approaching from east. Departure Direction: Departed to west. Witness Direction: North.

Description: It was boxing day and I was a child. My father worked shift work and we missed Mass on Christmas day so my parents took us children to visit church after dark to see the manger.

Upon coming out, I looked up in the sky and saw a cluster of white lights in the shape of an oval slowly moving from east to west. My whole family then watched. Being a kid in the early 70's, I loved "space" and wanted to be an astronaut and would always look at the sky.

The object was a bit north of us traveling in a straight line almost floating east to west. It was at ~ 80° East when I first saw it and flew through 90° (nearly overhead) then continued its slow straight course west.

I did not know about checking to see if it blocked out stars as it passed or count how many lights there were. I would estimate there were between 12 and 20 spaced in the shape of an oval. They did not blink or dim. It was a quiet night and we heard no noise from the object. I am sure of this as we were not on a flight path so any airplane above the city would pick our keen ears as children. We would always look up when we heard one. I heard nothing.

I would guess the object moved across the sky slightly faster than a typical jet at cruising altitude.

Color/Shape: 12 to 20 solid white lights in a symmetrical oval shape. The narrow ends formed the leading and trailing points. It was not as pointy as a football.

Height & Speed: I don't have a clue. It could have been a huge object at high altitude or a smaller one at lower altitude. It was approximately the size of the moon so ~ 0.5°

TV/Radio/Press: It was reported by others in the Western Star paper according to my parents. It is a shame I know the day of the year but not the year.

I speculate that it may have been some high altitude experimental craft since space exploration was in its hay day during that time or possibly a blimp.

Saint John, New Brunswick A Pattern Of Lights

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: 1970 Time: 8:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 20 Number of objects: 7 Shape of objects: Dots.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was snow sliding at a local golf coarse with a friend and his family along with about fifteen other people. We were facing the north when some one or myself, I can't remember said "look at the pattern of lights on the horizon. Calculating the distance I would have to say they were hundreds of miles apart, however when one moved they all moved, it was quite spectacular really. I can't remember why we stopped watching them, whether or not they simply vanished or shot off into the night, all I can remember was every one stopped what they were doing and watched.

Strange as it seemed, I don't recall anyone being amazed or mystified by what we had just witnessed. When it was over (maybe two to three minutes) we all just went back to what we were doing. I don't even recall talking about it after the fact.

Edgewater, British Columbia Bright Light Follows Witness

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: 1970's ? Time: Approx: 11:00 p.m.

A friend reported to me that she knew of a girlfriend's husband who was on his way to work. It was the graveyard shift and he was heading off along the highway to his place of employment, which was some 10 -15 minutes away from his home. As he travelled towards his destination he became aware of a bright light which seemed to be getting bigger and bigger and following him alongside the highway. He was too curious to keep on driving until he'd had a better look at what was going on. Stopping the vehicle he watched for several minutes. But strangely enough when he finally got to work he discovered that he was over 2 hours late.

Investigators Note: I would have liked to have contacted this gentleman but he has passed away... but I was indeed grateful that his experience had been passed on to me for inclusion in my files.

Spring Hill Ranch, Telkwa Hi Road In Smithers B.C. Strange Craft

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Between 1970 & 1983 Time: ?

I grew up on Spring Hill Ranch on the Telkwa Hi Road in Smithers during mid 1970 till 1983. I live in Saskatchewan now.

I can remember an encounter I had on the ranch sometime between those years, while I was fetching the horses out in the pasture. The area was well treed and I was walking along the fence line heading back toward the house, when I just had the notion to look up. Not far above the tree line, above my head was the strangest looking aircraft I had ever seen. There was absolutely no sound to it at all, which amazed me, for one.

The other thing which really sticks out in my memory is the design of it. Everything backwards. It had two sets of wings. The front set was smaller than the back set and the wings faced inwards. Normally wings are designed the opposite way. I don't know how long it was there before I had noticed it. But when I did look up, it was there for maybe thirty seconds before it took off and disappeared into thin air. I never saw it again and never heard of any other report like it. I do remember hearing an account of how (name removed) and (name removed) (who lived at opposites ends of the Bulkley Valley) had seen the same UFO one time.

Sincerely,

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Dawson Creek, Northern B.C. Fluorescent Emerald Green Light

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Early 1970's Time: Approx: 1:30 a.m.

This is my third sighting of what I am sure was not of this planet in the last twenty-five years. The first was on our farm 6 miles from Dawson Creek in Northern BC. In the early 70's when sitting with relatives approx. 1:30 in the morning. A large fluorescent emerald green light came down on an angle stopped and you could see a red light then shine below it and it came straight down. The next day we went over to the field we were sure it landed in and couldn't find anything. Four (non-drinking) adults saw this. The two visiting from Alberta were strong Pentecostals who do not believe in UFO's or any such thing so I tried to explain it as a plane going down - which I knew it wasn't and they said "You know that was no plane".

North Of Fort St. John Three Saucer Shaped Objects

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Early 1970s Time: Early afternoon

I was going to an auction sale North of Fort St. John about 30 miles in quite a remote area. It was a cold bright day. Early in the afternoon we could see the sun reflecting on something in the sky. We pulled over and parked, and behind the only small little cloud in the whole blue sky there were three saucer shaped objects staying in one position. We sat at least 15 min. and they did not move. There were no other vehicles or houses around so I'm not sure if anyone else saw them. This would have been in the early 70's.

Noelville, Ontario UFO Lands In The Forest

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Mid 1970's up to 1980 Time: 9:00 p.m.

Message: I was born in Sudbury Ontario and lived in Noelville until the age of 20. In the mid 1970's up to 1980, I have seen 2 UFO's that were very close. The first one was during winter and it appeared like it landed in the forest behind my grandmother's house. It was 9:00 p.m. during a weekday. My friend and I ran into the local restaurant to tell everyone, only to be laughed at. We wanted to go into the woods but were more scared of wolves than aliens. I was only in high school then. The next day in made front page of the Sudbury Star with sighting all the way to Detroit.

My second close sighting was at Bear Lake in Noelville. It was a summer night. The object appeared out of no where and hovered over the lake. Because it was such a calm night we could hear people talking from across the lake. Everyone came out to see it. It changed colors with every moved it made. It slowly followed the lake without making a sound. People got into their boats to follower it and as sudden as it appeared it disappeared.

I've seen many strange objects which I believe were UFO's but they were always too far away to get a good description.

My mom told me that in the 1960's at lunch time one appeared over our little village of Noelville. I barely remember that one.

Since I have moved away from the area in 1982 I have never had another experience.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

HBCC UFO Research: If anyone may have witnessed something unusual flying in the sky back on Easter in 1966 I would be grateful if you would please contact me over it with as much detail over the sighting as possible. Thank you, Brian Vike.

Date: Easter in 1966 Time: N/A

I was 15 years old on Easter in 1966 and lived in St. Albert, Alberta on Sir Winston Churchill Ave. A UFO was directly over our back fence. I don't recall any talk about a UFO sighting on Easter Sunday and I certainly didn't see it, but it still may have been too cold to hang out in the back yard and perhaps no one that I knew saw it. It was a small town but there was a religious line that was as divisive as in Ireland and I had few Catholic friends or acquaintances. I would be very interested to know if you have had any confirmations and more details. Thank you.

The person who filed this report was referring to another report from the same area.

Ontario Brothers Have A UFO Close Encounter

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: Approx: August 29, 1966 Time: Evening

I received a telephone call from a man by the name of Walter. He and his brother ended up having an unforgettable experience in Ontario.

It was late August of 1966 and Walter said this is one of those haunting things that comes up from ones memory from the distant past. Walter said over the years he and his brother have had some discussion over certain aspects of the event. He also noted that the brothers never talked about the experience to anyone for about two or three years after the event took place. They were quite reticent from openly speaking about it. When the men finally did start talking about it their story came in a fragmented way. Walter mentions that the differences in the brothers story were not actually the event itself, but rather the time sequence. After the two fellows really dove into what took place, Walter's brother was convinced that they were coming to their summer residence and Walter was convinced they were leaving to go home.

Another important note to this is that they wondered if the date of the sighting was correct, but after Walter started checking around finally was able to make contact with the owner of the newspaper for that time period and he was able to recall the event because there were others who were witness to some unusual sightings on that same day. Two reports were made and no explanation was found for what these witnesses reported. Also folks had reported seeing strange sights in the sky north of a small settlement along Highway 71 going from Corona to Fort Francis, Ontario. The government dismissed the apparent phenomena as a large release of incandescent swamp gas, the owner of the newspaper told Walter. Walter of course thought this was pretty amazing swamp gas as it retained an ellipsoidal shape and paced the two brothers vehicle for a long distance as they traveled down the highway, plus it could ascend vertically at a tremendous rate of speed. As Walter said, he had a hard time with the swamp gas explanation!

Walter describes what exactly was witnessed:

There is a tourist camp at Caliper Lake which is located approximately seven to eight kilometers south from Nester Falls in northwestern Ontario. Their vehicle had just passed south of Caliper Lake. In the back seat of their car were the family pets they were taking back home. The men had a large tabby cat by the name of Tiger, and a male bulldog by the name of Eric and last but not least a nile monitor which was kept in a box as the cat and the monitor didn't get along all that well. It is roughly 11:00 p.m. at night, the men heading south and they were passing Larson's Camp and noticed the lights still on at the camp. There was no other traffic on the highway at this time. Walter is in the passenger's seat and his brother is driving. Walter dozed off briefly and was awakened by his brother jabbing him telling him how bright it had become around the car. The witness said there was an intense bright light which lit up the entire area. Walter said it was so bright that they were able to see way off the road and into the forest. Also he turned around to look out the back window of the vehicle and it was lit up as well. As Walter is looking out the back, he can see the cat is sitting up close to the window very agitated, the dog is on the floor of the car moaning and the nile monitor has it's head out of the box with it's tongue working rapidly. The cat not bothering with it as it was hissing at something else.

Walter turned to his brother and said something had to be over top of the car. The speed at which they were traveling was about 60 miles an hour at that time. Also they had been listening to the radio when it started to get alot of static. As the fellow told me, at that time of night one would be able to pick up a number of radio stations as the reception is much better than during the daytime hours. They instantly tried other radio channels and all they heard from the different channels was static. Both men looking at one another in amazement, with a bright light sitting over top of them, the animals acting up in the car and now losing reception on the radio, they wondered what was going on!

Still traveling along the highway with an intense light above them, they were coming to a second hill, when in front of their vehicle, only about 200 to 400 meters away traveling over top the highway was a huge ellipse of white light. This object in front of them was pacing them and not far off the highway's surface. The men guessed the second object was about 10 to 15 meters off the ground. It seemed that one object was above them and one object was in front of them. Walter told me they were more curious than anything and sped up to see if they were able to catch up to the object in front of them, but as they did, the ellipse of white light stayed pretty much at the same distance away from their car. No matter how fast they drove, there was an equal distance between the object and vehicle.

(HBCC UFO Research Note: The distance the event took place in was approximately 25 kilometers. The time everything started was at 11:00 p.m. The men came to an intersection/small community called Finland. They came off the high ground, curved around on the highway and dropped down onto a straight stretch in a low lying area which was about a kilometer in distance. While on the straight stretch the light in front of them ascended vertically at an incredible rate of speed. Walter said if he was to count to four the object had completely vanished from their sight. It went that fast. As the object in front of them disappeared so did the light above the car. Walter said it just winked out. There may have been a split second between the two objects disappearing. The static on the radio cleared and they were able to pick up the radio stations once again.

Another peculiar thing they found was that they were traveling through Finland at about midnight when they realized that it had just taken them about an hour to travel the 25 kilometers. Like Walter said, they didn't travel less than 80 to 90 kilometers an hour. He said there was a hiatus, something happened in that period of time.

What Walter and his brother find puzzling is the time, (an hour to drive the 25 kilometers) that they have no explanation for.

Where was the missing time?

Walter saw a friend and told her about what had gone on, and how nothing seemed to make sense. She offered to try a regression session with him to see if he was able to recall anything that took place that evening. He agreed to give this a try as he wanted answers if possible as he said his brother and he have been arguing for years about the absent piece of time and the actual going and coming issue they can't seem to agree on. One brother thought they were on their way home, and the other believes they were traveling in the other direction away from home.

Apparently, through the regression and during this event the brother driving did stop the car. The brothers could not recall this taking place as they always felt they continued traveling the highway and did not stop at any time. Both men after stopping the vehicle got out and walked off to the right side of the road. They stood looking upwards and observed the light that had been above their car move off and hover above the trees close by. Walter recalled seeing what appeared to be portholes along the side of the craft. They apparently stood there for a few minutes watching it. Walter also has been trying to encourage his brother to go through regression in hopes of getting some more parts to the puzzle. So far his brother has been reluctant to go through this procedure. Walter also doesn't recall been taken aboard the craft and it was not brought out in the regression session that this did take place. So another mystery, were the men taken or not ?

The regression took place in 92/93 and HBCC UFO Research has telephoned the lady who preformed the regression and she told me that indeed the session did take place. Also Walter and the lady told me an audio tape of the session was recorded and we are trying to find this at this time.

I would also like to add that this gentleman who related this story to me, is a very credible man.

My deepest thanks to Walter for coming forward and telling his story. The audio clip of his story can be heard on the Jeff Rense radio program (http://www.rense.com/) in hour one - Brian Vike - B.C. UFO Phenomena with special guest Walter on February 18, 2005 in the show's archives. The way the gentleman goes step by step through the experience is one you do not want to miss.

Parksville, British Columbia Strange Lights

Posted: December 26, 2007

Date: June 1969 Time: Late evening.

Location of Sighting: Parksville, B. C. Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 3 Shape of objects: Lights.

Full Description of event/sighting: Late one summer evening I was on the beach in Parksville with a friend. At one point in the evening, I spotted two lights up island from us. It was hard to tell how far away they were, or how far apart the lights were. But they were in line with the airport and Canadian air force base at Comox, B. C.

I naturally assumed they were helicopters or flares. Sometime later I noticed that the two lights had not moved. There was no noise that we could hear, and there was no movement of the lights.

The evening was quiet, with no wind, so if they were helicopters, I thought we might have heard them. And judging by the size of the lights, I knew that if they were helicopters, they were closer to us than to Comox. Since there was no movement of the lights, I dismissed the possibility of them being flares.

About 20 to 30 minutes had passed at this time when suddenly the lights reappeared to our right and at a slightly different elevation. This time the lights stayed in this spot for at least 10 to 15 minutes, maybe more. The next time we looked, they were gone.

What makes this sighting so interesting, is that on this website, I found a report of a very similar sighting in New York, same month, same year.

Thank you to the witness for the report.
