Thornton, Ontario UFO Was Bright Like A Reflection

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 11, 2007 Time: 1:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Thornton approx N 44° 15.927 W 79° 46.148 Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Light

Full Description of event/sighting: I was driving southbound on the 9th line and saw what I thought to be a plane in the sky. It was bright like a reflection, I thought little of it other then it was interesting to see a plane flying low on a parallel trajectory to me.

I continued to drive for about 10 seconds and the plane completely disappeared. I looked around for it but could see not a single trace, despite being surrounded by farm land, and a clear blue sky.

I only thought about it later today after hearing the reports of the fireballs over the 401 (but my sighting was at a different time)

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Stoney Creek Mountain, Ontario Fireball/Meteor Sighting - Glowing Blue/Green

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 11, 2007 Time: 7:55 p.m.

HBCC UFO Research Note: After receiving so many sighting reports for the March 11, 2007 Fireball/Meteor sighting this is getting interesting. My question is, were there more than one meteor that night on March 11, 2007 ? From media articles the meteor was burning up over Ontario, and the meteor reported to be heading from north to south was also seen from New York, Ohio and Michigan in the United States. The way I see it, either the reports from some of the media are incorrect, and the meteor traveled a longer distance than reported, or were there more than one meteor ? Also reports have come in where the meteor darn near hit vehicles on the road in several areas, being in Ontario and the United States. If others have witnessed the meteor and have not filed a report on this as of yet, I sure would like to hear from you. Please use the Report A UFO form on the left hand, top area on the page. Please add as much detail as possible.

Location of Sighting: Stoney Creek Mountain Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Fireball-round.

Full Description of event/sighting: Hey Brian, I saw the March 11/07 fireball come to the ground on the Stoney Creek Mountain. Came from the north at about a 35% angle to the ground. Glowing blue/green, approximately 50 feet over my car. I was travelling west, and it was coming at me from about 2 o'clock. Hit the ground somewhere within 1/2 mile of the Linc, near the Leon's store. I was taking an exit ramp, and went to see if it had hit anything. Lots of fields in the area, but a fair amount of development. It definitely did not burn out before impact, that thought had crossed my mind. At approx: 50 feet, it had a 1 foot diameter, was traveling at approximately 1 mile/5 seconds, or 720 miles/hour. I happen to be a private pilot training in instruments, so noticing particulars and spacing was quite easy, especially since it was so close. I happened to be on the phone to the client that I had just left when it occurred, and informed her that I had almost gotten picked off by a meteor! lol

Stoney Creek Mountain is approximately 700 feet higher than the QEW where it was sighted, and the angle of which it was travelling would coincide with that sighting. Was actually going to go back to exactly where I saw it and try to locate it, because it definitely hit the ground a second or two after I saw it.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Forest, Ontario Meteor Sighting Or A UFO ?

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 11, 2007 Time: 8:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: South Sky Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Round with flames.

Full Description of event/sighting: There seemed to have been a greenish colour to the tail of what looked like flames following a bright round shaped object. Some could say it was just a meteor, but to me it looked to me as if it possibly could have been something else. There are claims of it coming down to the surface of the planet, but from what I saw it burnt up before it was even recognizable. I'm not going to claim it as something ridiculous but I'm just saying there's a possibility it wasn't just a meteor.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Sudbury, Ontario A Bright Yellow Streak In The Sky

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 17, 2007 Time: 11:20 p.m.

Approach Direction: South. Departure Direction: North. Witness Direction: East.

Description: It was a cold night when I was walking my dogs. I do about 3 loops up and down my street with my dogs. Coming around the first time something caught the corner of my right eye. I looked up, without tilting my head and saw a bright yellow streak in the sky. I know what your thinking, it sounds just like a standard "shooting star" but it was very thick and lasted a while. It wasn't as fast, probably lasted for about 2 seconds or maybe 3. I could almost make out a ball formation at the end of it (and am fairly sure of that) but I can say for sure. I also can't say how long the streak was, the beginning of it was blocked out by my hood. As I saw it, the ending of it stopped at a specific point and the tail just disappeared nearly instantly following into the same spot.

Normally I would not report this if it was not for my dog, the light was about 75 degrees up from us and it really drew my dogs attention. Planes pass over my house every night and he never cares. But as he watched it, and watched it disappear, he kept looking, probably 10 seconds after it was gone. Like he was waiting for it to come back. I don't think it made a sound, but I couldn't tell, I had my headphones on.

Color/Shape: Yellow

Height & Speed: 15,000-20,000 ft

TV/Radio/Press: Not yet, highly doubtable.

Toronto, Ontario Fireball/Meteor Sighting

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 11, 2007 Time: Approx: 8:15 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Toronto, 401 Highway Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Ball of fire.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was driving from Ajax to Toronto at approximately 8:15 pm on Sunday March 11, 2007. I noticed a very large bright object moving extremely quickly across the horizon. It was travelling south-south-west as near as I could tell. And by quickly, I mean faster than any plane could ever travel.

After maybe 2 seconds it seemed to explode into flames and continued on at the same speed and in the same direction. The ball seemed to disappear across the horizon and did not seem to be descending. It almost seemed like the point of entry for a large meteor was right above Toronto.

Not only did this alarm me but several other cars in other lanes on the 401 began swerving and/or slowing down.

I've seen falling stars. This was like a falling star but about 1,000 times larger than any I've seen and travelling many, many times faster. It seemed to cover the entire horizon in about 4-5 seconds. And one could see the actual yellow flames as it began to burn up.

It's been about a week now and I still cannot get the spectacular image out of my head. It was beautiful and terrifying all at once.

Anyway, once I arrived at my destination, I learned that the friend I was meeting had seen it as well. He was actually quite shaken up by it. He had been driving in to Toronto from Unionville.

Is there any reports on this meteor or whatever it was? If so, did this touch down on earth anywhere or would it have burned up before landing?

Cheers.

Thank you to the witness for the report.
