Abbotsford, British Columbia Strange Contrail

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 6, 2007 Time: 11:00 a.m.

Tuesday March 6, 2007 about 11:00 a.m. mostly clear blue sky while traveling east on Hwy 1 noticed a very strange contrail just south of Sumas exit in Abbotsford.

A 'J' or 'L' shape in the sky indicating a 'jet' that could turn an almost 90 degree turn at speed.

I could see the start and the end of the trail that at arms length would be about twice the width of my fist.

I have never seen a contrail with a shape like this. Not even close. No idea the altitude, but width, etc. of trail appeared like any other I have seen. Seemed to be dissipating like any other trail. I had to turn north to Mission so did not see it more than a couple of minutes.

Thank you to the person for the report.

Whitby, Ontario A Large Hovering Disc And Military Jets

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 8, 2007 Time: 2:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: 401 Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Disc shape.

Full Description of event/sighting: Around 2:30 pm heading east on highway 401, I looking to the north, that's when I saw this huge disc, just hovering. I would have to say it was the size of a 747 and approx: 25,000 feet high. I pulled over to the shoulder to watch, than it started moving in a northwest direction. Around 3:55pm, my friend left a message on my cell to say go outside and look up above my work place. You will see a huge disc hovering very high in the sky. When I got to my desk, my cell notified me that there was a message. I went outside to look but it was to late. But I did see 4 military jets in formation traveling in same direction few kilometers apart. I think the jets were looking for the UFO or chasing it away. We have Darlington Nuclear Power Plant to the east and Pickering Nuclear Power Plant to the west. The UFO was in the centre. What does it want or is it watching over the plants so nothing happens.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Between Stoney Creek And Hamilton, Ontario Meteor (March 11, 2007)

Posted: January 26, 2008

Hey Brian, I was on the QEW driving between Stoney Creek and Hamilton and saw the burning object falling from the sky. Since it was dark out, there was no means of determining a size of the object. But at my perspective it looked similar to that of a helicopter coming in at a 40-50* angle. After that the flames diminished and the object just vanished.

Thank you to the witness for sending in the report.

Mississauga, Ontario UFO Hovers Over Halton Hills

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 11, 2007 Time: 8:00 p.mm to 8:26 p.m.

HBCC UFO Research: I kind of figured there was something happening in the skies over Ontario. I popped into the referrals area of my website and there are stacks and stacks of people searching for something taking place over Ontario on March 11, 2007. This is why I posted a short note to the website asking for any reports for this date. I would still like to hear from anyone who has information on what has happened in the skies over Ontario for the date mentioned here.

Location of Sighting: West sky Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 3 Shape of objects: Linear + planes and flashes.

Full Description of event/sighting: My wife and I were heading westward on the 401 back to Guelph. Around 7:45 pm going over the Top of Toronto I said to my wife, there is Venus. I immediately afterwards said that there must be a military operation going on due to the high vapor trails. As we went through Mississauga at around 8:00pm I said to her that one trail looks likes something has been shot out of the sky. Seconds later I see a linear strobe lit object go from south to north and hovered over the Halton Hills to the northwest. I told her that was no way an airplane.

No tailfins, fuselage. I suggested to her that it was a military drone. Two minutes after that there was a bright flash which resembled a meteorite, but wasn't directly over the 401 at Erin Mills Parkway. The flash was strong for about 4 seconds, but as an astronomer and military buff this wasn't cosmic debris. Not with all the other stuff going on. The most noticed was this abrupt smoky vapor trail which looked like something was shot up in the sky over Halton.

Around 8:16 pm or so we were approaching Camblebille past Milton and the sky was now dark. I again told my wife to look up and we saw a long stretch of light, with an odd strobe formation. We pulled over while others just carried on their trip. We were right. One was a commercial command type plane with front and rear spotlights, followed by about 1,000 feet or so by an escort plane of some sort flying at subsonic speed to the south east. Thus no sonic boom and leaving the area under the cover of dark. Something over Ontario happened today on March 11, 2007 and from other reports we've come across, activity had been going on all day from around 2:30 pm or so. We tried to use the cell phone camera, but my wife didn't know how to use it.

Thank you to the witness for this report.

Smiths Falls To Kingston, Ontario White Object And Fiery Blaze At The Tail End

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 11, 2007 Time: Approx: 8:20 p.m.

Message: Tonight at approx 8:20 pm we were driving along Highway 15 from Smiths Falls to Kingston, Ontario. As I was driving I happened to glance out to the right of the windshield as something caught my eye. As I did, my husband and daughter said, "Do you see that?"

We have no idea what it was, but this is the best description I can offer. It was something white at the front with a fiery blaze at the tail end of it. The white portion wasn't that large but seemed to have a pointed tip. The sky trailing this object was well lit with a red/orangy glow and seemed to have black specs within it. It was descending very fast on a 45 degree angle. We saw it for approx 5 seconds before it disappeared.

As we travelled, we kept looking for any other sign of it, perhaps a fire from where it landed or something, but we didn't see it again, or any sign of it, it just disappeared.

We talked about it the whole ride home and tried to figure it out, so if you do find out what it was, we'd love to know!!

The object was a distance off, but I can still picture the brightness of it.(To be honest, we wondered if it was a small passenger airplane, but heard nothing about it on the radio.)

Hope to hear from you.

Thank you very much to the witness for their report.

Meteor Sighted By Witness Driving To Toronto, Ontario (March 11, 2007)

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 11, 2007 Time: 8:00 p.m.

Hi There, I saw the amazing show last night. I was driving into Toronto last night (March 11, 2007) and the time was about 8:00 pm EST and when I looked up to the west, I saw this object falling approx towards the SW direction. It lasted for a few seconds and I was startled, as I first thought it was a plane in trouble.

I have seen "falling stars" before, but I have never seen one like this: It had traces of green light, that changed to yellow, then orange, before it disappeared...I wondered if the odd light wavelengths indicated that it was "space junk" coming down, instead of a meteor ! Thanks.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Color/Shape: Green ball with white bright "sparks" off the tail. It looked like a plain crashing or a comet.

Brampton, Ontario Fireball/Meteor Sighting (March 11, 2007)

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 11, 2007 Time: Approx: 7:20 p.m.

Saw a bright light in sky.

Brampton, ON. Me and my family were traveling in car at about 7:20 pm on March 11,2007. We saw a very bright light like sun. It traveled downwards on land and was visible for only milliseconds. It was greenish very, very bright in the center and a little greenish on sides and was very bright. As it disappeared traveling downwards. The sky beginning from land until half way the sky was greenish and bright and the sky on opposite side was normal and black. Then we decided to turn in light's direction. After some time we saw lights in the sky like a plane. But it was much faster than plane and disappeared into the sky. The sky on one side remained like that for about an hour. I was surprised why anybody else didn't see it. And why it wasn't on news instantly. Maybe because it was for milliseconds only.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Mississauga, Ontario Fireball/Meteor Sighting (March 11, 2007)

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 11, 2007 Time: Between 7:55 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. (Approx:)

Message: I saw this object shoot across the sky, it had a green tail. It only lasted a couple seconds, but it seemed as though the closer it got to earth the smaller it got, then it looked like it exploded in mid air. It freaked me out, but I'm being told it was only a meteor and this happens every hundred years or so. Do you think this was a UFO? That's what I thought at first!

Additional Information:

It was probably between 7:55pm and 8:00pm on March 11,2007, and I was driving home on Hwy 403 about the get off on the Erin Mills Pkwy cut off (that's in Mississauga, ON, Canada) and it happened right in front of me. It might have been a meteor, but why was the tail green and why did it explode, or seem to explode.

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 11, 2007 Time: Approx: 7:55 p.m.

Message: I saw the meteor in Sarnia, ON on March 11, 2007 approx. at 7:55 pm. I was driving south and seen it travel north to south on right (west) side. I only seen for a few seconds. It was very bright red and orange ball with long tail. I didn't see any green as other reports indicated. It disappeared very quickly. I seen a confirmed meteor approx. 8 years ago. That one was very yellowish with green and blue tail. Yesterday meteor seem to be moving alot quicker and seem closer than the one I seen in the past. Could the colours indicate distance as to wavelength spectrums? I have seen shooting star and this was no star. The sky was still pretty bright at that time. You can call be crazy but I swear I heard it bang (high pitch sound) when it disappeared so quickly. Did anybody else hear or feel that experience. Thanks.

Thornton, Ontario UFO Was Bright Like A Reflection

Posted: January 26, 2008

Location of Sighting: Thornton approx N 44° 15.927 W 79° 46.148 Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Light

Full Description of event/sighting: I was driving southbound on the 9th line and saw what I thought to be a plane in the sky. It was bright like a reflection, I thought little of it other then it was interesting to see a plane flying low on a parallel trajectory to me.

I continued to drive for about 10 seconds and the plane completely disappeared. I looked around for it but could see not a single trace, despite being surrounded by farm land, and a clear blue sky.

I only thought about it later today after hearing the reports of the fireballs over the 401 (but my sighting was at a different time)

Stoney Creek Mountain, Ontario Fireball/Meteor Sighting - Glowing Blue/Green

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 11, 2007 Time: 7:55 p.m.

HBCC UFO Research Note: After receiving so many sighting reports for the March 11, 2007 Fireball/Meteor sighting this is getting interesting. My question is, were there more than one meteor that night on March 11, 2007 ? From media articles the meteor was burning up over Ontario, and the meteor reported to be heading from north to south was also seen from New York, Ohio and Michigan in the United States. The way I see it, either the reports from some of the media are incorrect, and the meteor traveled a longer distance than reported, or were there more than one meteor ? Also reports have come in where the meteor darn near hit vehicles on the road in several areas, being in Ontario and the United States. If others have witnessed the meteor and have not filed a report on this as of yet, I sure would like to hear from you. Please use the Report A UFO form on the left hand, top area on the page. Please add as much detail as possible.

Location of Sighting: Stoney Creek Mountain Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Fireball-round.

Full Description of event/sighting: Hey Brian, I saw the March 11/07 fireball come to the ground on the Stoney Creek Mountain. Came from the north at about a 35% angle to the ground. Glowing blue/green, approximately 50 feet over my car. I was travelling west, and it was coming at me from about 2 o'clock. Hit the ground somewhere within 1/2 mile of the Linc, near the Leon's store. I was taking an exit ramp, and went to see if it had hit anything. Lots of fields in the area, but a fair amount of development. It definitely did not burn out before impact, that thought had crossed my mind. At approx: 50 feet, it had a 1 foot diameter, was traveling at approximately 1 mile/5 seconds, or 720 miles/hour. I happen to be a private pilot training in instruments, so noticing particulars and spacing was quite easy, especially since it was so close. I happened to be on the phone to the client that I had just left when it occurred, and informed her that I had almost gotten picked off by a meteor! lol

Stoney Creek Mountain is approximately 700 feet higher than the QEW where it was sighted, and the angle of which it was travelling would coincide with that sighting. Was actually going to go back to exactly where I saw it and try to locate it, because it definitely hit the ground a second or two after I saw it.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Forest, Ontario Meteor Sighting Or A UFO ?

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 11, 2007 Time: 8:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: South Sky Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Round with flames.

Full Description of event/sighting: There seemed to have been a greenish colour to the tail of what looked like flames following a bright round shaped object. Some could say it was just a meteor, but to me it looked to me as if it possibly could have been something else. There are claims of it coming down to the surface of the planet, but from what I saw it burnt up before it was even recognizable. I'm not going to claim it as something ridiculous but I'm just saying there's a possibility it wasn't just a meteor.

Sudbury, Ontario A Bright Yellow Streak In The Sky

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 17, 2007 Time: 11:20 p.m.

Approach Direction: South. Departure Direction: North. Witness Direction: East.

Description: It was a cold night when I was walking my dogs. I do about 3 loops up and down my street with my dogs. Coming around the first time something caught the corner of my right eye. I looked up, without tilting my head and saw a bright yellow streak in the sky. I know what your thinking, it sounds just like a standard "shooting star" but it was very thick and lasted a while. It wasn't as fast, probably lasted for about 2 seconds or maybe 3. I could almost make out a ball formation at the end of it (and am fairly sure of that) but I can say for sure. I also can't say how long the streak was, the beginning of it was blocked out by my hood. As I saw it, the ending of it stopped at a specific point and the tail just disappeared nearly instantly following into the same spot.

Normally I would not report this if it was not for my dog, the light was about 75 degrees up from us and it really drew my dogs attention. Planes pass over my house every night and he never cares. But as he watched it, and watched it disappear, he kept looking, probably 10 seconds after it was gone. Like he was waiting for it to come back. I don't think it made a sound, but I couldn't tell, I had my headphones on.

Color/Shape: Yellow

Height & Speed: 15,000-20,000 ft

TV/Radio/Press: Not yet, highly doubtable.

Toronto, Ontario Fireball/Meteor Sighting

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 11, 2007 Time: Approx: 8:15 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Toronto, 401 Highway Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Ball of fire.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was driving from Ajax to Toronto at approximately 8:15 pm on Sunday March 11, 2007. I noticed a very large bright object moving extremely quickly across the horizon. It was travelling south-south-west as near as I could tell. And by quickly, I mean faster than any plane could ever travel.

After maybe 2 seconds it seemed to explode into flames and continued on at the same speed and in the same direction. The ball seemed to disappear across the horizon and did not seem to be descending. It almost seemed like the point of entry for a large meteor was right above Toronto.

Not only did this alarm me but several other cars in other lanes on the 401 began swerving and/or slowing down.

I've seen falling stars. This was like a falling star but about 1,000 times larger than any I've seen and travelling many, many times faster. It seemed to cover the entire horizon in about 4-5 seconds. And one could see the actual yellow flames as it began to burn up.

It's been about a week now and I still cannot get the spectacular image out of my head. It was beautiful and terrifying all at once.

Anyway, once I arrived at my destination, I learned that the friend I was meeting had seen it as well. He was actually quite shaken up by it. He had been driving in to Toronto from Unionville.

Is there any reports on this meteor or whatever it was? If so, did this touch down on earth anywhere or would it have burned up before landing?

Cheers.

Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia Object Hovering Close To Car And A Humming Sound

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 10, 2007 Time: 2:30 - 3:00 a.m.

Location of Sighting: Hammonds Plains (Kingswood/Voyageur Run). Number of witnesses: 2 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Uncertain.

Full Description of event/sighting: It was the night of March 10th 2007 at around 2:10 in the morning. Me and my best friend were sitting in his car waiting to go on a school-organized trip to Quebec. The bus left at 5:00 am so my friend and I decided to stay up and wait to drive to the bus and sleep the whole drive up. We decided to wait on a new road that connected two different subdivisions (Voyager Run and Kingswood). The road was off of a lake and had no streetlights because it was just built. We parked the car near the only source of light, which I believe was a little watershed or hut with one light bulb at the top.

While sitting in the car my friend pointed out a bright white light in what we assumed was a far distance in comparison the trees on the lake. At first my friend thought it was a planet because of the random blinking of the light. After looking at this light for 5 minutes the passenger window become streaky and slightly fogged. After the streaks were formed we both realized this light was moving by keeping our heads completely still and by comparing the close streaks on the window to the light in the distance.

Once we made this realization after about 10 minutes of the movement of the light we noticed a drastic increase in the speed it was moving and could notice that it wasn't moving sideways anymore but towards us and was getting bigger. After watching this light move closer for 2 minutes, 3 more lights other than the original white flashing light were becoming visible. The other lights were, a very light blue on the left side, a bright red on the opposite side, and an even brighter white/yellow light on the top which would make it a triangle if it weren't for the other original flashing white light which was flashing slower and in different places making the shape unrecognizable.

At this point the shape was still to far to recognize a flying pattern which was the last thing leaving my friend and I to believe it still might be an airplane or something explainable.

After only another minute or so trying to interpret what this was the distance this thing seemed to travel in a short period of time seemed unbelievable. Once the object seemed to be close enough to be able to hear an engine I rolled my window down. As soon as my window went down I can't explain the feeling I got instantly, it was a feeling of panic. My friend panicked as well because the object was hovering with a very slight humming sound over the lake in front of us. As the object was getting close it moved in a very slight up and down movement but continued to move in a forward direction. The object wasn't very high in the sky, maybe about a 10-story building. The way it moved made it hard to tell a shape. I only got about a 5 - 10 second detailed look at it. I am positive that I saw a curve to the shape on one side. The curve seemed to progressively light up with three different colors one at a time then fade them backwards' in the same manor. It was identical to the way the equalizers show the bass hits in a song but only horizontal and on one side of the object. The colors that lit up along the side were red, green, and yellow.

My friend instantly started the car in fear when the object was flying in a direction that would pass behind the car. As my friend started the car and put the car in gear the object had just passed behind the car and it instantly changed directions towards the car. The feeling of fear and curiosity that this thing had spotted us was a feeling I could not describe. My heart was beating incredibly fast, I have never felt anything like this. At first the feeling was fear and the feeling of a much greater power or energy in the sky that was capable of anything.

As my friend and I drove out towards the other end of the road that connected the two subdivisions the object would appear out my window one second and then my friends window as we went around every slight turn. Eventually when we reached the main road the object was no longer in sight anywhere.

I know what I saw was something of the unexplainable because of the feeling I got. I described the whole 20-minute encounter as best as I could with as much detail. If anyone has a similar story around the same area or different "please" let me know. I will never forget this experience that I witnessed just the other week. I am only 18, but my friend and I know that whatever we saw was not explainable. I decided to keep the story to myself the whole time in Quebec because when I tell it its impossible to share the feeling of the experience.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Northern Whitby, Ontario Possibly A Disk Shaped Craft

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 19, 2007 Time: Approx: 11:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Northern Whitby, Ontario. Number of witnesses: Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: The object was long and thin, possibly disk shaped.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was outside my house at around 11:30 on Monday night having a smoke and I looked up towards where I usually see lights and noticed a light quite far away and at a high altitude but not high enough to be a satellite. It looked like it was over northern Whitby, and in a stationary position not moving at all. It was a bright white light, with a clear red light going around it or flashing on it, and I'm sure I could make out a blue light flashing also. When I saw this light I said aloud to myself "There it is!" as soon as I said this the lights seemed to dim and then the entire thing vanished before my eyes. Maybe it was watching or could see me. Just wanted to report that.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Brampton, Ontario Fireball/Meteor Sighting Bright Green Ball Of Light

Posted: January 26, 2008

Date: March 11, 2007 Time: Approx: 8:00 p.m.

Message: I read this and its so strange because I live in Brampton, and my friend Alejandro was picking me up from Winners at around 8, close to there, this was off of Queen street, in Brampton I was walking from Rona to Winners. And as we were driving out of there we saw a bright green ball of light heading down. Both stunned we wondered what the hell it was but I then suggested it was either a flare or it was a piece of meteor and I was interested in where it landed. We're glad that we weren't the only ones who saw it though.

Thank you to the witness for the report.
