Pitt Meadows, British Columbia A Rounded Bright Flash Of Light

Posted: April 11, 2008

Date: April 11, 2008
Time: 5.28 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Pitt Meadows, B.C.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Rounded bright flash of light.

Full Description of event/sighting: My son and I saw a large round really bright flash of light, not sure if anyone else seen this or not, but it sat for about a few seconds above the building across from us. Not sure if it was a refection from the sun through one of neighbors across from my suite. My son and I were at home doing some reading when we both saw this, our curtains were closed and it was an overcast day. But I looked out there and saw no other signs of it and if it was the sun it would have lasted more then what we saw and would have been more times then the once. All the windows across from me are sloped up like someone has to bend it up to open it, could this be what we saw. Just a reflection of the sun from someone opening a window? It was a very bright flash.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Location of Sighting: Over Whitby.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Round.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was filling air in my tires at a gas station in north Whitby and I had been there for about 10-15 minutes. All the sudden I noticed a flash in my peripheral vision, and when I looked up I saw what looked like a green firework falling from the sky. It lasted for only a few seconds and then disappeared! It was a clear night, and there was no noticeable trail of smoke or anything like that.

South West Of Ottawa, Ontario A Bright Ball - Reddish Flash

Posted: February 21, 2008

Date: February 20, 2008
Time: 6:30 p.m.

Location of Sighting: South West of Ottawa, Ontario
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Bright ball, reddish flash.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was driving facing South West of Ottawa, Ontario and I saw an extremely bright white light dart across the sky, then flash a reddish colour and then nothing. We had been hearing about the US Navy shooting down that satellite all day so I assumed that was what I must have seen (?) but now I'm thinking it may have been a meteor? I see someone else has posted about this same sighting however the direction seems to differ from mine.
I have never seen a light so bright in the sky before, it was amazing. Entire incident lasted about 1.5-2 seconds.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Oshawa, Ontario (Over Whitby) A Bright Green Flash

Posted: February 15, 2008

Date: October 5, 2007 Time: N/A (HBCC UFO will be checking on this)

I live in Oshawa, Ontario. The first occurrence happened on October 5, 2007 while I was sitting in my chemistry class. I was staring out the window looking out at what I thought was a plane to the west over Whitby. Suddenly all I saw was a bright green flash and it was gone. Puzzled I went to the window to double check and nothing was there.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Near Woodstock, Ontario An Intense Flash That Lasted 2 Seconds

Posted: January 15, 2008

Date: February 13, 2006 Time: Approx: 4:20 p.m.

Hi Brian, you seem real busy for February 6, 2006. I have a recent story to pass on to you, from a another fellow, who delivers at our place of work in Scarborough. On Monday,February 13, 2006 at approx: 4:20pm while on the ramp at Hwy 97 and the Hwy.401, near Woodstock. He witnessed about a quarter mile away, at about 200 feet max in altitude. An intense flash, that lasted 2 seconds, at about a size of a dime at arms length. He describes it as very bright,as this was still daylight. The outer part (rim) of the "circle" was bright white. Within the circle, a bright intense yellow colour. Now once again, this fellow questions of what he had witnessed. Funny that now he too, is skywatching his surroundings.

Thank you to the person for sending along this report.

Over Oshawa/Whitby, Ontario Two White Flashes

Posted: January 14, 2008

Date: September 10, 2005 Time: 12:52 a.m.

Hi Brian, your keeping real busy, as indicated by the growing reports on your website. I would like to share a recent account of two bright white flashes seen, in the night sky, over Oshawa/Whitby,Ontario. In the evening, at 12:52am and 12:55am approx, on Saturday, Sept.10, 2005. Two very bright, white flashes were observed. These were round whitish, blue flashes that had a approx.2-3 minute interval, of this repeat performance. The first one seen, was a head shaker, as you question? Did I just see a single bright white pulse in the sky?

To confirm that thought, another flash followed 2-3 minutes later, in the same part of the sky, southwest, very high up. In a noted observation, that it was not jet, not a plane, nor a helicopter. I'm open for a natural explanation, as this night-timer, is a first one I've seen. Could this be a signal for a introduction of contact or monitoring? I remained outside, facing west for another half hour and saw nothing else of these flashes, only a shooting star. These were only seen for a split second, as they did have a definition of roundness. The signature was like a star in colour, only much more brilliant. So again I question to you Brian, have you had similar reports of this type? Take care, as I will continue to skywatch for the strange.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Port Maitland, Nova Scotia A Large Multi Colored Flashing Ball

Posted: January 13, 2008

Report Received: February 05, 2007

Date: September 2005 Time: Evening (nightfall)

Message: I should like to report a UFO sighting I had in 2005 - I did report this to local radio station to see if anyone else had called in with it, but they never got back to me.

It was a late Summer evening and dark out. I happened to look out of my upstairs bathroom window which overlooks the ocean and in the sky was this large multi colored flashing ball. It hovered for a few seconds then darted right to left. I called my husband to see this, but by the time he had arrived the flashing ball had come to a stand still, although still flashing colors. It then rose high in the sky and was gone, I went to the front of the house to see it, it had gone into the eastern sky but it was nowhere to be seen. I called a neighbor to see if he had seen anything of the same nature but he had not.

Did you hear of anything being reported of a similar nature. I was not drinking as I don't drink. I am not one drug. This really did happen, but when I reported it no one seemed to care. But I would like to know what it was, nothing I know of could move that fast, or in a left to right and up and down formation. Please give me your views.

Additional Information Below:

Hi, thank you for replying, As I said I viewed this from my home which is in a village called Port Maitland, population about 500, nearest large town is Yarmouth with a population about 15,000, province of Nova Scotia in Canada. Not sure now what month of summer this took place now as I did not record it, but my husband thinks it was September. I watched for no longer than five minutes, the colors were very bright, mainly red and blue. I first viewed it just above the trees, but I thought at the time that it was over the ocean, or just above the shore line, (we live very close to the ocean) I hope this is of help. I have at different times watched for it but it has never appeared again.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Western Oshawa, Ontario Low Flying Flashing Light

Posted: January 12, 2008

Date: August 13, 2005 Time: 11:26 p.m.

Brian, I would like to report a UFO sighting that was extremely close to my position tonight. They don't get much closer than this! I'm outside at home in western Oshawa, sky watching tonight, facing west on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at about 11:20 pm. In the description of what I saw, was simply amazing. This roundish, white star object, flashing ever so slightly, moving along north of my position.

Here's the kicker, this object was very low, at about between 100-150 feet above the ground. The distance from myself and the object, would be also between 100-200 feet max. away. The speed of the object to guess, would be around 80-100 + mph. This object appeared to be flashing, and it's size would be 2-5 ft. in diameter. It's flight path was from the east to west, towards Whitby,Ontario. The object's light intensity was just like that of a star, whitish blue. It did appear to have a ever so slight, up and down movement (waving). I had only a window of about 3-4 seconds to view this star-like object. I recorded the time at exactly 11:26 pm EST. How much closer will "they" get. I please urge any other people, to report any similar sightings to this recent one I have encountered.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Regina, Saskatchewan Flashing Lights

Posted: January 3, 2008

Date: March 30, 2005 Time: 9:21 p.m.

It was only about 15 minutes ago myself and my wife were outside, having a smoke. In a matter of five minutes we had seen four UFOs for sure, and I believe I had seen at least another six flash for a split second. We had first seen just one light moving south in the sky at an extreme speed, then just disappeared, a minute later we saw a light going back in the opposite direction, at a slower speed than the first, and again disappeared. About two minutes after that, we saw two lights moving towards each other, and then cross each other's path. But just before they disappeared I thought I saw six more flash for a split second, all around the two that crossed. Something is definitely going on.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Port Coquitlam, Burke Mountain Flashes Of light

Posted: January 2, 2008

Date: February 15, 2005 Time: Between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

From approximately 18:00 to 23:00 I left my camera aimed at about a 45 degree angle over Burke Mountain twice during that time I picked up a number of flashes of light and when I stopped the tape and zoomed in on them I found two of them to consist of two ovals one above and slightly to the right of the other, the top oval was pink and the bottom purple and they were connected by a purple tube. During that time I also spotted what appeared to be satellites passing over in a southeasterly direction, when I zoomed in I found the first to be 3 round white objects connected by a tube and the 2nd. consisted of 7 round white objects which appeared to be touching each other. Just before 23:00 there was a really bright flash and when I checked found it to be a large single oval a brilliant blue in color similar to that of a bottle of Listerine. Also saw a number of normal satellites passing over.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Lynn Valley, North Vancouver B.C. Flashing Light

Posted: January 1, 2008

Date: From - December 3, 2004 Time: 4:40 a.m.

Here is the latest picture of, an object I have been able to capture digitally on a pair of Meade 8x42 binoculars/digital camera. I have seen this object at least six times since December 3, 2004. Typically it appears in an easterly direction as you look from Lynn Valley, North Vancouver British Columbia. However, this image was captured looking due south. It was midway between the horizon and the zenith. I took the avi video clip at 4:40 am.

Normally I'm asleep at that time but today I was on my way to pick up my daughter and take her to the airport. The brightness of the object as well as it's twinkling caught my eye as I was leaving my driveway. As I was pressed for time I quickly pulled over took 15 seconds of video. Although it looks like the object is moving it's stationary. However, because it was at a high altitude and there is no motion control it appears to be moving. I should have emailed you the picture first and added the notes but I will send you the video separately.

Thank you to the witness for the report,

Edmonton, Alberta Unknown Flashing Light

Posted: January 1, 2008

Date: December 15, 2004 Time of Sighting: 4:50 p.m. +/- 10 min.

Number of witnesses: 1 Number of objects: 1 Shape of objects: Unknown, flashing light only.

Full Description of event/sighting: Hi, Brian. I thought I'd report this, even though I'm pretty sure there could be a "reasonable" explanation for it. I'm always sure to check the skies at red lights, in slow traffic, etc, to see if anything interesting is going on. Well, on my drive home (traveling south on Terwillager Drive, in south Edmonton), I noticed a plane traveling what seemed to be NWW. It looked like a pretty standard passenger jet, but I couldn't make out any details, save for it's lights.

However, as it was passing in front of a fairly large cloud (there were few clouds in the sky at this time), a seemingly stationary light, approximately 3-5 plane-lengths above the plane, and much smaller than the visible lights of the plane, flashed 5 or 6 times. The light was very bright, and noticeable, but small (like it was smaller, but had more output). I could not see anything in its place when it flashed "off," and could see nothing after the plane had moved further on its course. Is it standard procedure for aircraft to "flash" each other like this when they're flying in each others' airspace? Perhaps you've determined the cause of similar events. If you have, please let me know. Thanks.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Montreal, North Quebec 3 Colored Beams Flashing

Posted: January 1, 2008

Date: December 17, 2004 Time: 5:00 a.m.

Hi...my name is (name removed) from Montreal, North Quebec, I am presently seeing 3 colored beams flashing towards the sky from my apartment window...they must be no further than 5 km away, I cannot see from where the beams start as there houses that are in the way, but I a can notice that the base of the beam is pretty intense. The brightest beam is yellow and flashes pretty strait up in sky. There are about 3 other colored beams on the right and left of the bright yellow beam, but they are less brighter.

There is a blue and green and maybe a faded red. I have never seen anything like this before especially that bright, and straight up motionless..and have never seen anything in that direction like that either. This is the first time. I doubt it would be some kind of publicity or attraction light because earlier in the evening there was no lights there and its 5:00 a.m. No use to publicize anything in sky at this time.....anyways....just felt I needed to report this unusual sighting.....very strange....please keep me posted if you might have any clue or need any additional help from me.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Surrey, B.C. Large Yellow Light And Flashes

Posted: January 1, 2008

Date: December 27, 2004 Time: Approx: 5:30 and 6:00 p.m.

Last night December 27, 2004 at approx. 17:30 I happened to glance up at the sky and noticed a large yellow light heading in a northerly direction. It appeared to be a satellite but very large, similar in size to the Space Station. I grabbed for my binoculars but it winked out before I could get them to my eyes. Possibly went into earths shadow or just turned off. Not sure what.

I set my camera up and left it running pointed to the same area where the light disappeared, approx at a 45 degree angle to the north.

At approx. 18:00 give or take ten minutes. Two bright lights flashed on for approx. one or two seconds approx. as bright as Venus during the summer. First # 1 - Which showed up as a bright red object on the view finder, when I freeze framed it and zoomed in it appeared to be a black oval shaped object with a large white area covered by a reddish cloud which extended out from the upper left hand side. It blinked out and then a few seconds later the other light flashed on.( #2 ) Zooming in on it revealed a perfect black circular object with two oval white areas. It was below and off to the left of the first object. Camera was set at 20X with the night vision on. ( #3 ) White object composed of two large white rectangular lights attached one below and slightly to the rear. It flew through the field of vision heading roughly NNW. Could possibly have been a plane but I didn't see any blinking lights just a steady glow as it flew bye. Camera was set at 40 X zoom so it must have been quite far away. My window was open but I did not see or hear any planes in the area. The attached drawing gives a rough idea of what they looked like.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Over Lake Ontario, Toronto Flashing Light

Posted: January 1, 2008

Date: November 14, 2004 Time: 7:00 p.m.

Hi Brian, Well it was such a clear starry night here tonight, 7:00 p.m. I went out to my deck to fill the bird feeders and had a smoke I looked around the sky, I saw all the usual stars and then I observed approx. over Lake Ontario (60km south east of here) a flashing light. Because I had the tree line, it made it easier for me to see that it wasn't a star or a plane. I waited for a good 45 min. Then went in to eat dinner, my son's friend and his girlfriend dropped in just before we sat down and I pointed it out to them, well that was it the two of them watched for quite some time and they said they could see it move up and the lights were flashing reds, blue and yellow.

We kept going to check on it. It appears to be coming directly across the sky slower than a satellite, but much faster than the star formations move. Anyway the 26 year olds that were here tonight were pretty convinced, and every time I get a chance to show these UFOs to people, the more people I get to believe.

Something tells me we're going to have a lot of activity over the next couple of months, so I'll keep my eyes open to the sky, as always!

Additional Information:

It appeared to be over Lake Ontario, Toronto. Which is south, south, east from me I'm on the Niagara Escarpment, north west. It was at my tree line when we first noticed it, we watched it slowly work its way up and then within a couple of hours it seemed to be coming directly towards us.The lights were visibly turning, and it would sway back and forth as it got higher in the sky. Honestly, to the naked eye it may have appeared to be a plane, but of course a plane couldn't possibly take that long to come across the sky. And as I said I had new witnesses here who were totally in awe.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Hamilton Beach Way, Ontario White Light With Blue/Green Flash

Posted: December 31, 2007

Date: September 26, 2004 Time: 8:10 a.m.

Hello, My husband and I were taking our dog for a walk around 8:10 am on the Hamilton Beach Way (just west of the Burlington Lift Bridge parallel to the Burlington Skyway Bridge (aka QEW Niagara), when we saw a bright flash in the sky that travelled from Lake Ontario (South) right over the Lift Bridge and Skyway Bridge (North) and disappeared over the horizon to Stelco Steel factory (or the Burlington Bay) The light was white and had an incredible blue/green flash to it. It was travelling so fast that we thought we may have imagined it.

When we got down to the Hamilton Beach to walk our dog, a complete stranger on the beach asked if we say the 'meteorite' across the sky.! Imagine our surprise.

We did not imagine it!

Did anyone else see this sighting?

Thank you to the witness for the report.
