Hi Brian, This is a report of a sighting I had with my family when I was about 8 years old in 1967, but which has stuck in my mind very clearly because it was so weird.

We were having lunch in Hyde Park, London during a family outing there in the summer of that year.

As we sat eating and talking, I suddenly noticed several dark coloured, inverted horseshoe-shaped objects, bobbing up and down as if on strings dangling from the sky, away over some buildings in the distance.

There was about 10 of them and they were just so weird that I pointed them out to my mum and dad, who didn’t have a clue what they were or even what they might be.

As I said, they were kind of upside down ‘U’ shaped things, and I seem to remember they had maybe a couple of lighter coloured spots on them.

I also got the peculiar feeling they were aware of us in some way.

Anyway, there they were, in broad daylight, bobbing up and down as if suspended in mid-air above central London on wires. No-one else seemed to notice them.

They seemed to be different sizes, but this may be because they were different distances away from us, but I have never seen anything like them since. Nor do I have any idea myself, as a now grown adult, what on earth they may have been.

I don’t believe fancy advertising using expensive props was used a lot in the sixties and I certainly don’t believe that civilian aircraft could look like that or appear so low as that over London.

So unless someone else can offer a feasible explanation, they remain a mystery to me.

Amber Orange Bright Light Over Camelon Village Central Scotland UK

Dear Brian, I also want to report a UFO I spotted in the sky over Camelon at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday 16, October 2010.

I was looking out of my flat window because there were a couple of drunks in my street causing a disturbance, when I looked to the sky this is when I saw a suspicious light moving, well, not in a normal way for it to be an aircraft.

To be sure, I put my glasses on and checked again and this is what I saw,  an amber/orange bright light, it wasn't that close, but the shape was 2-3mm wide (i.e. much larger than the average star in the sky), it was moving in one direction, but in a haphazard way, it moved forward slowly a little, hovered, moved forward again and sped up before hovering again.

It wasn't moving in the trajectory of a straight line, more of an arc, then it disappeared into a cloud. I am a final year science student at university and am a rational person. I would not be reporting this weird sighting if I thought it could be explained away by anything else other than it being it UFO. Interestingly, Camelon is extremely close to Denny, where another sighting was reported on your website on Friday 15 October. Many thanks.

Bright Light Filmed By Witness Over Westfield Road Runcorn Cheshire UK (Photo)

Time:  Between 7:20 a.m. and 7:25 a.m.

I originally sent this earlier this morning on, but I have now been able to upload to picture from my phone. I could not attach the picture on Hotmail so I have had to send it through my work e mail, this time with spell check! This sighting took place between 7:20am and 7:25am on the 27th January 2011.

As I was walking down Westfield road, just level with Westfield crescent, I noticed a bright light in the sky like a plane coming in to land from the direction of Liverpool airport. The light just seemed to hover, but I know from watching planes coming in to land that on certain angles they can give this impression. I kept watching for a couple of minutes and the light stayed where it was. I moved closer to a telegraph pole to use this as a point of reference as to whether the light was moving.

The light then slowly moved to my right, hovered, and then went from my view behind a rooftop.

Westfield road is quite elevated me giving a good view of Liverpool and Wales, so I judged this to be coming down somewhere near or on the river Mersey. I managed to rule out a plane landing at the air port, leaving just the possibility of it being a helicopter.

Now there was not a sound in the sky and the light beamed forward towards me and not down for the five minutes in which i watched it, leaving me to believe it wasn’t a police helicopter either.

This is the 3rd time I have seen this light at the same point over the last 6 months, which is why I gave it my full attention. I took a photo on my camera phone the 2nd time which was taken in daylight. When I adjusted the light settings on the phone it showed a black ball inside the light.

I managed to take a photo of this sighing with my new camera phone which was much, much clearer and fully shows the large bright ball of light over the houses. Once I work out how to upload the picture onto my laptop (hopefully this weekend) I will e mail it to you so you can take a look at it. Hopefully you can adjust it to work out what it is.

Very odd to see this three times in the same place doing the same things each time in silence. There is a large chimney being built (The Incinerator) which was to my left which workmen on the top would have had a perfect view of the light if they were on top at that time. Regards.

White UFOs Filmed Near Contrail Over Southampton UK (Pictures And Video)

Hi, here's my latest daytime infrared footage that you may find interesting - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCNWuJe3lvQ, Captured at around 3:00 p.m. on 10 April 2011, Southampton UK.

The camcorder used is a modified Sony DCR TRV140E with a 1.7x tele-converter, recorded in infrared/visible light mixed and the manual focus in use.

The solid object that appears to be made up of two sections, looks white in colour and also may only be reflecting IR light as no shadows or other colours can be observed.

With all the concentrating trying to keep the object steady in shot, it never crossed my mind whether to switch between light spectrum's to see if the object would disappear in the visible spectrum only. 

No eye contact with the object was made as I knew it must have been so high in altitude and didn't want to risk losing it from sight. I estimate the object being of at least 25000 feet in altitude as it looks like it disappears into the contrail/chemtrail of the passing plane.

Observed for around seven minutes, before heading north and disappearing out of sight.

Very Bright Orange Light Observed Over Brighton UK

Hi Brian, I just saw a extremely bright (not Chinese lantern) orange light that looked like a plane on fire over Brighton. I have seen a large meteor burn up before (it cast a shadow) which was bright green. This was totally different, slower moving, wider dispersal of light, but still very bright and was between clouds moving relatively fast across sky.

Extremely unusual, I thought it might be a passenger jet crashing. I caught my attention when I saw something bright out the corner of my eyes I ran over to window when I realized how bright it was.

I did expect an explosion as it disappeared behind trees at the bottom of my garden. It was hard to estimate distance but I would say about 1-2 miles away. It was extremely bright, wish I was in garden to see if it cast a shadow like the meteor did as this is a good gauge of distance and intensity.

Have you had many other sightings as I am intrigued. Thanks.

Unusual Object Moves Across The Sky Over Warrington UK

Hello Brian, my name is (name removed) and I live in Warrington UK. It's halfway between Liverpool and Manchester.

I was outside at 23.15, looking up at the stars as I had my last cigarette of the day. I noticed a single star get significantly brighter, just south of the Plough constellation. I watched it as it remained in place for around a minute. It appeared from nowhere as if powering up. No movement.

Then it started to move west at a speed similar to that of a jet at altitude. There was no perceivable acceleration. It was still, then moving. It moved across the sky about two hand lengths (if hands outstretched). This took about 10 seconds. During this time I argued with myself:

Shooting star? Too slow.

Helicopter? Too high, too quiet.

Jet? Stationary? No! and no flashing lights.

Then it moved straight up from a horizontal to vertical path and faded slowly away. The moment it disappeared, 2 parallel shooting stars came from the north behind me and across the path it had just flown.

I had not drank anything and the cigarette was 'straight'.

I hope this makes sense as I'm still a little excited and hope it is of interest to you.

Unknown Round Object Hovering Over Rainham In Essex UK

Hello, I saw something strange over the sky of Rainham in Essex, UK. It Tuesday afternoon when I noticed in the sky a round object sitting in the sky and not moving. It was a windy day and the clouds were moving fast, but still it hadn't moved at all. As I was watching it, the object seem to shine in the sun and then would just disappear out of sight and then reappear.

I know in my area they stack planes and it seem like there was a lot of planes in around this object, like they were going to have a look. It look like a roundabout for planes as so many flew up and down and even past it. This object didn't move an inch, and held its ground for 10 minutes at least.

I have seen all sorts of things in the sky and I never seen an object to not to move. I saw this around 1:00pm over Mardkye Fields, but hard to tell as it was high up. It wasn't a star or planet, because it was with the planes. I guess 20 thousand or 30 thousand feet up.

I looked at sky to observe Lyrid meteors and noticed an irregularly blinking orange light, at apparent center of faint triangle, near Regulus in Leo.

Object moved north across sky with high cloud, disappearing behind trees in northwest after about one minute.

There was little or no wind at ground level. Could not rule out single Chinese Lantern, but appearance and fairly rapid movement suggests object was not lantern.

UFO With Orange Lights And Red One At The Bottom Seen Over Yorkshire UK

I live in Yorkshire and I've seen the same type of craft twice over the last few months. The latter a few weeks ago over my own house. I am not given to imagine such idiosyncrasies and can tell you this was for real.

It was almost ball shaped and slow and lower than a normal aircraft would fly in this area (we have about 4 airports within 40 miles round us.) I heard the sound of props. But what surprised me, was that it had orange lights and one red light at the bottom which seemed to rotate under the craft.

I took a photo with my phone camera (not very good at all) but, when my phone cam flashed the lights on the craft were turned off and it continued - after veering left before going over my house and on towards the south side Manchester/Derbyshire direction.

It didn't appear in any hurry either. I saw no wings at all, but have found a similar looking craft on a site in the US that had been seen. My son said he was aware the Russians had a similar 'drone' type that could pick up conversations in your own home. One wonders!

UFO Moves Toward Witnesses At Westexe South Tiverton UK

Time:  Late evening.

Sometime during the sixties, I cannot remember the year during the late evening in Westexe South Tiverton. We were saying goodbye to friends when we noticed a globe of light which appeared to be circling the town and gradually losing altitude.

It became apparent that the object was in fact solid and illuminated in some way, we were unable to calculate the size. One of our friends took a powerful torch from his vehicle which he flashed in the direction of the object, to our surprise the object became immediately stationery and began to move in our direction.

At this point the ladies became very frightened returning to the house, followed by one of the males. The object continued to approach my friend and I, at this point we became very uneasy we to returned to the house losing sight of the object.

Following much discussion, and I must admit regaining our nerve we again looked for the object, we did not see it again.

The object was also observed by workers at the John Heathcoat factory and I believe reported in the local newspaper. I can give no explanation of what the object was.

I am however certain that it was not a natural phenomenon, but controlled by some form of intelligence.

UFO Hovering A Hundred Feet Above Gadsby Street Nuneaton UK

Hello, I have just stumbled across your post about lights in the sky. When I was little, I lived in Gadsby Street myself. When I was four we moved to Weddington. At that time my dad worked for British gas, digging up roads, fixing leaks on 24 hour call.

To my recollection it was soon after Christmas Day within a year or two of moving, that my dad got called out along with his crew to a leak in Gadsby Street in the early hours.

The next day he said he and his crew were repairing the leak, and having already made a lot of noise digging the hole of course when the crew and many of the residents out in the street complaining about the noise, when they all witnessed an unidentified object hovering silently above the houses.

The was a matter of a hundred feet or so above. How long it stuck around for etc., I don't know. He said he was sure it would be front page of the Tribune at least, but when he looked in the papers he found there was a tiny mention a couple of pages in.

There are and were only a couple of tabloids in existence in Nuneaton and this I estimate must have happened between 1980-85. It changed my dads outlook on the subject forever, and since has become a silent believer that we are not alone!

Egg Shaped Object Flying Silently Over Bournemouth Dorset England UK

Time:  Between 9:00 - 9:30 p.m.

I have been fascinated by the subject of UFOs since I was a small child, I'm 24 now. Around October time of 2003, I happened to have a sighting. It was probably around 9:00 -9:30 pm. I was walking back from the shops to the block of flats where I lived with my mother at the time, when an egg shaped object flew above me. It moved without sound, point forwards, with a tail of light (maybe as long as the craft itself), south-east-south over the road and disappeared above the flats where I lived. 

There are a number of variables that make this sighting hard to describe. Its speed, I suppose, could be comparable to the speed of a jet plane when viewed from the ground, namely very slow but if this thing was flying at the same height as a plane then it was about the size of a football field.

You see the problem. If I make a guess at size, speed, or altitude then all other factors have to change accordingly. Added to this is the fact that it happened two years ago and it was a clear night (no clouds = no frame of reference). If I had to guess though I would say it was moving at around ten miles an hour and was the size of a school bus, maybe 75 feet high. 

My second problem is in actually describing the object itself. As I have already said it was egg shaped flying silently point forwards with a tail of light following behind it. It was the way it was lit that is hard to describe. It was seemingly lit from within, white/orange and white/yellow but it was not transparent. Maybe a better description would be than it seemed to be superheated.

It's my opinion that most of us, even those who want to believe are completely grounded in reality and not really well equipped to deal with events dubbed paranormal. I don't mean to say that we panic but that we have a hard time with acceptance. 

Maybe that's just me. As a result I have spent the last two years half doubting what I saw. You have to wonder how many people experience such things yet don't report them out of just such skepticism or fear of ridicule. Luckily I have faced no ridicule but I have faced incredulity from the people I have told. I can't blame them for this, I doubted myself after all.

This morning came like a wakeup call. What I saw was no conventional aircraft, it was not swamp gas, Venus, or streetlight reflecting of duck buts and pardon the expression, but if that was a comet or meteor then we would all be goofed right now.

What I saw was something else.

Two UFOs Using Cloud Cover To Hide Over Tottenham London UK

I am at present in Tottenham London at my brothers house. I saw something strange in the sky that I couldn't recognize. There were two craft moving equidistant and from west to east using low cloud cover, slipping in and out of visibility. there was also a (usual) plane flying much higher, that I could compare them with.

Also there was a ball of light that zoomed across the sky to and fro. I was outside with my dogs, they were very unsettled and uneasy.

One of the craft seemed to have a spinning outer circle and lights, the other no lights visible. I mentioned it at the time to friends and relatives as it was weird. Today I go on yahoo to find out about the sightings over the BBC (they think faked) there was also a man in Edmonton called Dino (about 4 miles away) that also saw something odd.

I am 56 years old and not given to hoaxing, I hope you find this interesting.

Two Strange Orange Lights Over Drumchapel Glasgow Scotland UK

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was driving home with my wife and we saw a strange orange light in the sky close to our home, we are on a flight path to Glasgow Airport and used to seeing air traffic on this route, but this did not conform to anything we have seen before in terms of commercial aircraft or helicopter.

When I arrived at my house (within a minute), I stood in the drive and gazed up into the clear sky to see the orange light had now changed direction, before stopping absolutely still for a minute or so, then another orange light then became visible moving towards this one, before both moved upwards, fizzled out and disappeared.

Many people must have seen this, but I can't find any press reports today.

Two Orange Lights Over A Field While Traveling From Old Meldrum Towards Craigdam UK

Hi there, I recently saw orange lights (two to be precise) in the sky after driving home late one night from Old Meldrum along the road towards Craigdam. After witnessing this, I was certain it was not a plane or helicopter and researched online to see if there were any other stories online similar to this to explain what I had saw.

Then I came across your article about the orange lights above Inverurie. It sounds freakishly like my experience, but with only two and being a clear sky (no clouds).

I noticed one orange light while driving, did not look like a helicopter or plane and appeared to be a lot closer to the ground compared to the surrounding stars, being a really clear night. I was fixated on it, as I had never seen something like it, it seemed to move slowly, but surely and then hovered above on position over a field.

I continued to drive, making sure I still had it in my sights. I then stopped on a hill on the way home which gave me a better view over the area. At this point there was a second light and they seemed to move together, but stayed over a certain area. They felt close. I then reached for my phone (iPhone) to take a video, I recorded them for a minute or so then stopped, put my phone away then looked back up to see they had both gone.

I felt quite uneasy about this so drove home. When I did got home I went to show my parents the video, only to find that the video wouldn't work. And comes up with an icon that I have never come across, and neither had my dad with the same phone. I tried taking a short video after with my phone, and no doubt it worked again. Which I find quite weird.

Number of witnesses: 3

Number of Objects: 2 about 10 minutes apart.

Shape of Objects: Round orange ball.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: We was sitting in our living room last night watching TV when I noticed a strange moving orange light in the sky. We all jumped up and went out into the garden to get a better look.

I can only describe it as an orange ball of light which was moving very fast, but silently. I did run to get the camera, but by the time I got back it had gone. After the first sighting I was finding myself watching the sky and to our amazement, roughly around ten minutes after the first sighting, another orange ball appeared and seem to appear from the same place the first one did.

This time I managed to take a picture with the camera.

Two Objects Leave Large Orange Light Over Bicester UK

Time:  Evening.

Hi, I did not see the orange light, but last night my daughter who lives in Bicester saw an orange light (she actually phoned my wife as she was scared). It moved very fast and then came to a dead stop.

Then two more lights left the object. At this my daughter freaked out and went inside.

I believe she 'Googled' it today and a lot more people saw it. Regards.
