I was in the same area and also saw these lights. I first noticed them at 7:30 p.m. then all were gone by 8:00 p.m.
There were at least 30 at one point, all coming from the same location then moving along the same general flight path.
The lights were bright orange almost like flames. I took a picture, but it is quite dark.

I too saw these orange/red lights over Newmarket last night at the same time, along with my children and neighbours. They all travelled along the same flight path and the last 3 were in the formation of a triangle. After my neighbours went inside, my daughter and I stayed out longer and around 8:15 we saw one last final bright ornage/red light going across the same flight path. Then while standing and watching the night sky, a flying comet (or something) flew past our heads very low to the ground. It had a long tail and was a grey colour. What an interesting evening we had!
