On December 24, 2010 eyewitnesses reported seeing orange/red lights traveling overhead in the sky at Thompson Manitoba.
People wondered what in the heck these lights were, no explanation was found until one person saw the lights, and watched as one of them happened to fall out of the sky and into the snow.
Below is an email I received from the fellow and pictures he was kind enough to send of the object.
I hate to burst your bubble, but I seen the same lights as did a lot of people that I know and they are nothing but Chinese lanterns. One came down and landed in the Snow in the same area where we looking at the lights that night around 8:00 p.m.

There were about 5 of us when this happened. I’m going to my Mom’s at lunch to see if the lantern is still in my garage. I can send it to you if you like!
It was kind of chewed up because her “dog” got a hold of it, but it was a Lantern.
Brian Vike wishes to thank all of the eyewitnesses who filed their sighting reports to him, and he would also like to thank the fellow who was kind enough to send along the pictures of the lantern/balloon which was the cause of all the excitement in Thompson Manitoba.

Below is a report from one of the witnesses, all the other sighting reports were similar.
Now the pictures I just pasted into different areas in the reports, but they all came from the fellow who watched one of the lanterns drop from the sky.
4 Orange Red Balls Of Light Over Thompson Manitoba
Date: December 24, 2010
Time: Evening.
Tonight, December 24, 2010, My mom, her friend and her husband and I, and others on our street saw 4 Orange/reddish balls of light above Thompson Manitoba. They were heading northeast. We could tell that they were not planes, they moved at different paces at different times, and seemed to change altitude greatly within 5-10 seconds, they went up much higher. They seemed to travel a large distance in 2-3 seconds. Nothing that I have every seen a normal aircraft to do.

They first appear when we came home from church, only one at first, we thought it was a star, maybe Mars. When we got out, a neighbor pointed out that there was more. 4 to be exact.
As they moved, they got smaller, when they got smaller, they seemed to slow, as if gaining height. Within a minute, they disappeared, One by one.
We couldn't explain it, so I searched for an answer.
This happened less than an hour ago.
That you for your time. If you have any answers, or Ideas, please contact me back.
