Cylindrical UFO Caught On Film Over South Perth Western Australia (Pictures)

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date: April 18, 2010

Time: 1:08 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 1

Number of Objects: 1

Shape of Objects: Cigar shaped, disc shaped?

Full Description of Event/Sighting: On the April 18, 2010, I attended the Red Bull Air Race in Perth, Western Australia. I am an amateur photographer, and was keen to get some shots of the show from the southern side of the river facing the city.

I took over 200 shots on the day, and whilst I noticed nothing at the time, I later found an object in 3 of the shots during post processing of the photographs (I saw nothing at the time, however given the speed of what appears in the shot, and with the viewfinder of my camera up to my eyes for much of the day, I wouldn't expect to see anything).

The photos were taken at 1:08 p.m., according to the camera timer. I took 3 photos in less than 1 second total, in accordance with the Canon 500D DSLR specs. Each of the 3 photos was taken at 1/80th of a second, in both JPEG and RAW format.

The 3 photos show a stationary news helicopter on the left, and a competitor's plane in the center which appears to hardly move in the 3 shots despite travelling at speed vertically, such was the speed of the 3 photos taken.

The object in the background (or is it a small object close to the lens?) baffles me. It appears to be moving very fast. It is either large, distant and extremely fast moving, or just the opposite.

It appears to have no tail such as a meteor might have, and in fact may also be travelling in a slightly upwards direction.

The photos were taken into the sun with a polarizer filter on, and with smoke haze from the aircraft, they did not turn out like I would have liked.

My only adjustments to them, however, relate to color and contrast, with no changes to the object in question itself.

This is the first time I have reported the photos as a sighting. A while ago I sent them to a Ufologist in Australia and the conclusion was that they may be an insect up close, in the absence of any other information.

I have my doubts however, to me it looks large, fast and distant. For that reason I have decided to report what I have, and let others decide.

Considering the kind of photo this is, following a fast moving stunt plane under such excellent lighting conditions across several frames and excellent information from the photographer, the unknown cylindrical object is clearly moving extremely fast -- the lack of blurring almost surely eliminates the possibility of this being a bug passing close by the camera (which can often create the illusion of a high speed craft covering great distances).

In this case also we have in the last frame the object much smaller showing it has moved further away from the photographer, and yetremains sharply defined. All in all, this is an excellent UFO photograph.

See the large versions of all  pictures at the Flickr site links below (once there, clock All Sizes for size options above the photos)

The photos are available on my Flickr account as follows:

UFO Sighting Over Komoka Provincial Park Area In South Western Ontario

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  September 28, 2011 (Vary)

Time:  Vary

Hi there Brian, there was a long dry spell from any sightings in this area until September 28, 2011, which was a return of the silvery white craft in, or rather over the floodplain at about twice the height of the sighting I had last year on August 27, 2010.

Pretty much the same scenario, no sound, very slow movement in a straight line, no windows, no markings and the identical large projection/ bump on the tail end of the fuselage. The flight path was North West to South East.

On or around the 20 or 21 we saw a meteor fall to earth over the Provincial Park, since then I myself have seen the beginnings of a repeat performance of last summer's sightings of light shows over the Park and weird light/plasma shows further West over Oneida and near the hydro lines. These occur between 11:00 pm and 2 am almost every night.

The plasma light scenario, is pure white/gold in colour, much, much larger than a star, either at tree line height or below, and appears as though it dims and revolves by turn. At one point it looked as if you were peeking at a very bright dazzling light between a slit in a heavy curtain. Always moving up, down left and right across the panes of a window pane, which makes it easy to track.

That's about it Brian, I hope this is of some help to you, with any luck you're sitting or laying down when you read this after such a long gap between correspondence.

All my very best to you and yours, sincerely.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Massive Bright Red Orange Light Over Sunningdale Cape Town Western Cape South Africa

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  July 26, 2011

Time:  7:50 p.m.

Hi Brian, I just saw exactly what you described tonight at 19H50 26th July with my son standing in the Garden. I am completely puzzled and have no idea what it was.

It was a massive bright red/orange light that took also about 30 seconds to pass over.

I live in Sunningdale in Tableview. Has anyone emailed you with any ideas of what it is.  Regards.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Bright Orange Light Over Rockingham Western Australia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  April 12, 2011

Time:  8:00 p.m.

I noticed a bright orange light in the southwest, it was still. I watched it for a few minutes when it started to moved across the sky to the north. It began to flicker - fade as it moved!

It disappeared and then reappeared brighter than a star, but back in the south of the sky, again it started to move slowly across the sky to the north.

It flickered and swayed from side to side, the light then faded, but I could still see a white formation in the sky still moving to the north. I then lost sight of it, the whole duration was about 10 minuets.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

About 20 Bright Orange Lights Over Vredendal Western Cape South Africa

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  August 22, 2011

Time:  Evening.

Hi Brian, I’ve seen a similar appearance tonight , I live in Vredendal on the west coast and noticed about 20 of these bright orange light formatted in a circle and followed by another 5 orange lights , almost looking like a tail following the circle.

They moved slowly towards the east with no sound hear able and then disappeared. They must be very low as it is overcast tonight.

I am very curious about this appearance. Regards.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

15 Bright Orange Lights Over Outeniqua Mountains At George Western Cape South Africa

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  May 11, 2011

Time:  Approxamtlty 8:30 p.m.

Dear Brian, a friend of mine saw bright orange lights over the Outeniqua mountains at George yesterday evening, at about 18:30, from a north eastern direction. The lights appeared to move slowly towards George, and then slowly move away and disappeared.

In total about 15 lights appeared and then vanished. Some lights appeared alone and some in clusters of three or more. The shape of the objects were round like a small bright sun.

When the lights disappeared it looks like a black object was hanging in the sky. This lasted for about half an hour.

Is there an explanation for this ? We doubt that it is any planet movements a radio station suggested this afternoon.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

A Huge Unknown Craft/UFO In The Sky Over Willetton Western Australia

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  June 9, 2007

Time:  11:35 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Willetton

Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Large, circular.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was leaving work and walking to my car when I saw a large object fairly low in the sky. I was stopped in my tracks because it was just so large.

It was moving across the sky from a North Easterly direction, I thought it must have been a helicopter with its spot light pointing right in my direction. That would maybe explain the size of the light. Then I realized that:

A. -  It was the same colour as one of our orange street lights.

B. - Our police choppers use white spot lights.

C. - The light didn't move, and I could see no "beam" of light that such powerful search lights emit.

D. - It was moving too fast, definitely too fast to be a chopper, but within reach of a jet.

It wasn't a chopper, I thought it would have to be an air craft of some sort. After watching it for another minute I was certain that:

A. -  There were no leading lights, wing lights or whatever they are called. They blink, each air craft has multiples of them and they are different colours. We have a small air port nearby (Jandakot) and there are often prop driven planes in the air. Likewise there is a larger air port (international) further to the east. So aircraft are a common and familiar for me sight.

B. - It was just too big to be a jet, if it was a jet, I should be able to hear it. It wasn't a cigar shape or anything stupid like that, it was just a big orange ball that was slightly squashed in the middle.

I started recording it for a few seconds on my phone, but stopped. I felt silly thinking it could be something unexplained. Sure it was huge, had no leading lights and was moving faster than a prop plane or helicopter could move, but still, this is Perth! And a camera phone isn't exactly a worthy medium.

It was just as I was thinking the above when it moved. It moved so damn fast, right towards the ocean (West). The light seemed to halve in size, but that could've just been due to the fact that it moved so fast. A building obstructed it after a second but as I sprinted to the side of the building to get a clear view it was already gone.

We (Australia) do not have a single damn jet that can move that fast, it cleared the sky in seconds! Every hair on my body stood on end at that point. I've just spent the last half hour staring in awe at the sky, yes my neck is sore and no I didn't see this thing again.

What I did see however were numerous planes, a few far to the east where our cities main airport is, and a prop driven one heading to the smaller Jandakot airport. Not a single one of them looked anything like this thing. Out of curiosity I tried recording one of them with my phone so I could compare the results. Standing in my backyard I recorded a small propelled craft, looking at the recording I could barely see it. Looking at the few seconds of footage taken from a well lit car park (much more light pollution than my back yard has) the difference is amazing. That's how big this damn thing was, you can actually see it in a quick recording taken from a crappy Nokia in a well lit car park. Am I kicking myself for not recording as long as possible, more than anyone can know, I just want to be able to watch it again, so I never forget.

A believer is born, Sigh, I don' think I'll look at the sky in the same way again. The skeptic in me says "come on", and is going to make me check out to see if America have any carriers stationed offshore of Fremantle. It could've been a Super Hornet, but realistically there's no chance. They would not have been authorized for such a low fly over, plus they are noisy as hell, and if it had poured on the juice to get moving that fast the light would not have diminished but flared bright and hot.

Sorry this is so long. In a way writing it out so clearly will help me remember the event, it's one that I think is worth doing so too.

Oh, one last thing, this is almost certainly completely coincidental but it certainly added in some way to the sight. My car's central locking wouldn't work! Hah, first time that's ever happened (ever), though it started working after I tried half a dozen more times. But anyway, there were no power outs etc., my phone was working after all, just thought I'd mention it.

Once again, sorry for the length.

Thank you to the witness for the wonderful report.

Fluorescent Ball Of Light Crossed Our Path 30 Feet Away Western Maine

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Greetings Brian, Thanks for your reply and valued opinions. I am a retired scientist and during my long camping trips in a remote area of western Maine, I like to read about natural science and try to put the pieces together.

My son and I were on a trip about 25 years ago at that location during the winter. On a cold still night, we went for a walk after supper and as we walked down the road, a ball of fluorescent light, maybe 2 feet in diameter crossed our path about 30 feet away.

We were both quite surprised and watched it move off into the forest. We immediately looked for any signs in the fresh snow but found nothing. We proceeded down the road for a while, then turned to return.

When we approached the same area, the light appeared again, crossed our path and disappeared into the forest. At that point, my young son  became scared since we were over 5 miles away from anyone else.

I have never seen anything like it again and I often walk after dark. Actually, I am leaving tomorrow morning for a week of XC skiing and snowshoeing in that area. I don't think this experience qualifies as a UFO sighting, but it was certainly unusual and unexplainable.

Maybe if we keep reading, observing and analyzing we can put the pieces together. Life sure is interesting. Sincerely.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Eyewitness Films Moon And Catches Strange Object/UFO From Western Oshawa Ontario (Pictures)

Date:  December 28, 2014
Time:  10:27 p.m.

Happy festive season to you Brian, thanks so much for providing interesting UFO reports at this time.

I have noticed the many recent reports of multiple coloured orange lights reported over our neighbouring town of Whitby, Ontario on your site.

I thought you might find this photograph interesting.

Above Picture: What you are looking for in the photo, is a long coloured object, it is flying horizontally and just right of the chimney.

Yesterday, December 28, 2014 I was testing out my new camera for night shots. I used the moon as a subject to see how well they would turn out.

I took them facing westward towards Whitby, Ontario on my deck in western Oshawa, Ontario. While taking three pictures and examined them later, I noticed in the first picture something odd of a strange long streamlined image.

There appears to be a unknown long orange coloured tip anomaly caught on film at 10:27 p.m.

I have no idea what it truly can be and thought this interesting in conjunction with all the reports over Whitby.

It would appear  that my camera caught something unconventional

At what speed this object was travelling must make one wonder ?

Enjoy and thanks for your time and interest of these unknown sky anomalies.

Downtown Toronto, Ontario In Western Sky Bright Light

Posted: January 4, 2009

Date: January 3, 2009
Time: 8:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Downtown Toronto In Western sky.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Bright Light hard to tell.

Full Description of event/sighting: I saw a very bright light in the evening sky. I live in Toronto in a high rise apartment. The light was very shimmering and did not look like a normal Planet or Plane of any kind. My friend also thought that this was not a normal object. After a few hours it seemed to fade at first I thought that it had disappeared behind clouds, but it never appeared again. While watching the light I felt peaceful. I wonder if anyone could tell me what this was ? I have had other sightings for many years and would really like to know if others saw the same thing last night.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Vernon, British Columbia Western Sky Blue/Green Object

Posted: June 14, 2008

Time: Between 11:30 p.m. and 12:00 midnight-ish.

Location of Sighting: Vernon, western Sky.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Comet like.

Full Description of event/sighting: Brian, regarding the sighting: Richmond, British Columbia A Large Green Bluish Ball With Long Tail
So glad someone else saw it. What an odd color. That was the first thing I thought. It was huge, at least to begin with and it was as blue as all get out. It was something to see. It looked as though it went down near Davidson's Orchard, from my vantage point, but mind you, who can tell when something is that big, and so high up. Anyhow, I wanted to confirm their sighting, and say, if nothing else, it sure was big and pretty eh. Whatever it was, it was not your average meteor. It was no where near the color of regular burn. It was, as mentioned blue green and really dramatic.

Thank you to the witness for their report, and for confirming the Richmond, British Columbia sighting which was of the same object.
