Small Triangular UFO Above Albuquerque New Mexico

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date: December 3, 2008

Time: 9:30 p.m. till 12:30 a.m. it was still there when I went to bed.

Location of Sighting: Above Albuquerque.

Number of witnesses: 9

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Small triangle.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was sleeping when my girlfriend woke me up and told me to go look at the UFO my son had found out from a phone call from a friend who had called to tell him about it.

It seemed to be flying in a pattern but, was not an airplane. I am the daughter of a USAF full bird Col retired USAF pilot and I have grown up watching planes. This had no sound, one white light and could disappear when it wanted usually in the same place in it's flight pattern. It did change flight patterns a couple of times, but it also could zoom across the city in the matter of a second.

No noise, I called local news stations and as far as I know they were unable to catch it on film , I also called the homeland security number (that was kind of a joke the local number was a recording the 1-800 number I did get someone and advised me to call the local police. So I did and they reported it to all authorities. I see nothing about it in the news today as of yet.

When I called the police operator back I told her it seemed to be staying away from the air force base and she said "we are aware of that" and thanked me for my call so, who knows.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

1976 UFO Hovering Above A Field At Clovis New Mexico

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  1976

Time:  Evening.

I remember this incident. At first I thought  had dreamed it until I stumbled across your website.

I was only 6 when it happened, but I remember that we pulled over on the side of the road with many other people and watched the UFO hover over a field moving in strange sideways patterns before it shot straight up into the air and disappeared.

The Clovis news journal ran a picture of it the next day if I can recall. Thanks for the web post.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Fireball Type Object Shoots Back Upward Over New Mexico

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  2010 and September 17, 2011

Time:  Evening.

Hi, I was writing to see if  there is any explanation to this? The posting on your website " Bright Light Shoots Off Over Carvel Alberta Canada" 2006. My friend and I had witnessed the same exact thing, exactly, except we live in New Mexico and it happened in 2010.

Again September 17, 2011 the same friend and his girlfriend and her son witnessed the exact same sighting. I know this sounds cheesy, but the fireball was the size of my pinky nail held out at arm length, "a very hot and angry looking fireball" like off the movie Men in Black.

It seemed to be coming right at me and at a extremely high velocity and shot up leaving a short trail behind and out of our orbit, extremely fast speeds. This seems to be a reoccurring thing, have you found or heard what this is?

Thank You for your time.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Amber Lights And Red Object Shoots Skyward Over Cabo San Lucas Mexico

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  October 8, 2011

Time:  Around 8:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Hi, my friend and I went to Cabo San Lucas last week and we saw the exact same thing you did. We stayed at the Marina Fiesta Resort where we met some people who were staying there who were from a different part of Mexico.

We were hanging out at there room, when one of them on the balcony told us to come outside.  They said they saw a bunch of UFO’s.  When I came out I saw one red light shoot up from very low, in a curved pattern where it stopped for a bit then disappeared, there was one of us who saw this.

I appreciate you putting your page online, if you would like to get in touch with me you can email at this address anytime.

Thanks.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Amber Colored UFOs Seen Over Cabo San Lucas Mexico

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  October 8, 2011

Time:  9:30 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 2

Number of Objects: 6

Shape of Objects: Oval.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Recently there have been numerous sightings in the area where I am living. I live on a cliff overlooking the Sea of Cortez and a beautiful little cove beach. There were two sightings in September, one on September 2 and then again on September 18. These sightings were viewed by people in the housing community next to where I live I will tell you about those later.

Last night my husband and I both saw what we feel were UFO's. We were walking along the walkway returning from dinner at a friend's house to our condo. My husband suddenly said he left his cell phone in the car and returned to the car to get his phone. At this point, I was walking alone and looked in the sky and saw an amber colored light traveling along the Sea of Cortez (East to West).

It was very bright and looked like a burning light (orange/red). It traveled up and to the west and then just seemed to disappear. (I don't know if it disappeared behind a cloud or just vanished.)

There aren't many clouds here. I entered my condo and minutes later my husband came in. I said to him "did you see the UFO?" He said "no" and then proceeded to make fun of me saying "Yeah, right, you saw a UFO.

You seem pretty calm for having just seen a UFO." I said "well, I've been expecting to see one." He then went out on the deck and screamed "Oh My God - - Get the camera!" There was another bright light traveling the same way. It seemed like every minute another one would go by until four went by our deck.

My husband is a pilot and he said the lights looked nothing like anything he has ever seen. (That's five in all counting the one I saw while walking to our condo. They traveled faster than an airplane. My husband stayed out on the deck and fifteen minutes later another one came by, only this one seemed to go straight out over the Sea of Cortez (south) and in a different direction from all the others.

I will e-mail you photos.

As for the other sightings, there is a man who teaches Tai Chi on our little beach here. He is a very honest, spiritual man. He was up one morning at about 4:00 a.m. or 4:30 a.m. on or about September 2, when he saw a strange looking, amber colored light in the sky. It hovered over the housing community where he was staying.

He said he could hear a buzzing sound from it. He drew a picture in the sand of what he saw. It was a UFO with amber colored lights around the bottom. He said that the lights changed color, multi colored and then went over the hill to the beach. When it went down to the beach he said it morphed in size and color.

Originally it was about the size of a Volkswagen and then changed to the size of a trailer and the color was bluish white. He said he saw it leaving just before sunrise and then "poof", it just disappeared. He said he felt a lot of love coming from the craft.

Then on or about September 18, two night time security guards at the housing community next to us saw a craft hovering over their community. They described it as a UFO with amber colored lights. They watched as it went down towards the beach and changed color and they say that it disappeared into the sea.

They tried to take a photograph, but the photo only showed something that looked like interference on a television screen. They were frightened by the experience.

Please feel free to contact me either by phone or e-mail if you have any questions or comments. Thank you.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

12 Or 14 Amber Colored Lights Over Cabo San Lucas Mexico

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  October 8, 2011

Time:  Around 8:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Hi, My friend and I were on vacation this past weekend. We were on a Cabo San Lucas sunset cruise on Saturday, October 8, 2011.

Just when we were exiting the boat about 8:30-9:00 p.m., I was looking towards the Pacific over the mountain from the pier and saw 8 amber colored lights come up from behind the mountain and hover a bit.

Then one by one they flew up and disappeared. As they disappeared, I saw another and then another come from behind the mountain and do the same.  All in all there were total of about 12 or 14.

There was another passenger watching with me and he was able to get some photos. Even the workers on the boat were grabbing their cameras.

That's how I knew it was not a common sighting. We were there for the Sammy Hagar birthday bash and we figured they were after him! Very cool experience though.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

10 To 20 Small Orange Lights Shoot Out Of Larger Lights South Of Clovis New Mexico

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  Around May 2009

Time:  Approxamtlty 11:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 1

Number of Objects: 1 large, About 10-20 small.

Shape of Objects: Unknown.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I find it peaceful to take short walks late at night, and this was one of those times. It was around 11:00 p.m. and a clear night. I was at my parents house which is about five miles south of Clovis NM.

I was looking south and saw four yellowish non-blinking lights that made a square shape moving slowly west. It seemed to either be very large and far away, or smaller and moving oddly slowly.

If I was to hold my arm out and measure the size with my hand it would be about four inches across. Thinking it was a plane from the AFB, I watched it with slight interest as it moved west towards the base.

Once it was southwest of me, it stopped moving which caught my interest. It then released/shot 10 to 20 slightly smaller single orange lights which at first I though must be flares until they stared making right angles, full stops, and other movements that just didn't fit with rocket based movements.

This lasted perhaps five minutes and then the lights returned to the larger four, disappeared, and the four lights moved extremely quickly due south and disappeared.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

1976 UFO Event Burnt Ground And Unusual Metal Men In Suit At Clovis New Mexico

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date: 1976

Brian Vike’s Note: I have removed a person's name from this report I was sent due to not having permission to make the person's name public as I just have not spoken to the person. Also I want to make it very clear, the person who wrote this report up wants to stay anomalous. Here at HBCC UFO Research I respect everyone's wishes. I will not be giving out this person's name.

Hello again, Brian, To answer your question, (name removed) name appeared in the Sunday article in the Clovis News Journal. I don't know if he gave permission to use it, as he is now located in Las Vegas, Nevada. His father was quoted, just joking about the whole thing, but that's the kind of man he is.

I took some time to sit down and write what I remember about that time, thirty years ago. I remembered quite a bit, maybe more than my friends. Here is the text:

I was a senior in high school, and was approached by a local young man named (name removed). He had heard that I owned a large telescope, and wondered if we might use it together to try to get a view of some objects he’d seen in the sky and taken pictures of the previous night. I had a 6" reflector telescope, and back then, it was uncommon.

I accompanied him and a young reporter from the Clovis News Journal for the next 36 hours or so. We had the telescope with us in the trunk of the car. We went out to several remote areas at the edge of town, and my friend described what he had seen the night before. We set up the scope, and binoculars, and looked at the sky. There were several moments when we thought we saw movement in the star field, but couldn’t be sure. Sometime after midnight, we decided to doze at the News Journal office, on a couple beat up old couches they had there, and listen to the police scanner.

After a short while, we heard a call go out for a “public service” to the “burn spot” behind the Colonial Park church, at the northwest edge of town. “Public service” meant fire, police, and emergency medical services were all to respond. We scurried out to the car, piled in and beat everyone but the state police to the site. When we arrived, a State Policeman told us that a couple had been “parking” (we knew the young couple from high school) behind the church when they saw a craft with green lights land in the field beside the church. It stayed a few moments, then blasted off into the sky. When it took off, it started the field on fire. When we got there, the fire was not burning. We could smell the burnt grass, so we crossed a barbed wire fence to get to the burned spot with flashlights in our hands.

The burned area was very strange. The prevalent winds here are from the west, and I remember that the burn spot ran north and south, about 100 yards long and 30 yards wide, contrary to the wind. There was a strange pattern at the edge of the burn also. The grass inside the burned area was burnt to the ground, then at the edge, the short grass wasn’t touched, and the taller grass farther out was singed only at the tops. Some of the grass fifteen feet from the edge of the burn was singed on the top, with untouched grass in between. So it seemed that a giant flame had played over the field, completely unlike a natural grass fire, which has a clear line delineating the edge. This peculiar pattern was all around the edge of the burned spot.

In the middle of the burn, we found a weird clue. There was a square of grass, about 18 inches, perfectly square, and the grass had been pressed down hard into the dirt. Around the square the grass was completely burned away, but the grass flattened in the square was untouched, but for being pressed down. It seemed as if something very, very heavy was sitting there, and left a footprint in the grass. We spread out, looking for other similar “footprints,” but there were none, only the one, singular square.

As we were in the field, walking around the burned spot, a four-door sedan pulled up to the edge of the field where the firefighters and local police were waiting. The sedan had four men inside, all of them wore suits. The state police waved us over. The men were pretty much nondescript, clean shaven, average looking, short haircuts, but not quite military. They started asking us questions. One of them opened the trunk of the car and it was filled with electronic equipment. He took a device out of the trunk and closed the trunk. We told them about the square footprint, and they wanted to see it. We all walked to the field, and showed them the spot. With the flashlights playing on the spot, one of the men took his shoe and rubbed the spot out, obliterating it. I remember his words to this day. “That’s nothing."

We were instantly angry. I marched off away from the group and more towards the edge of the burn, where we hadn’t looked around. I was fuming, shining the light around hoping to get another clue. I found one.

It was a piece of constructed metal, about two feet long. When I picked it up, I noticed that it was very light, yet strong, like titanium. On one end was a tube, about two inches in diameter, and attached to the side of the tube and running along its length was a small flat bar. The bar was about twice as long as the tube, and on the end of the bar was attached a fin. The fin was about 8" wide, and very flat and thin.

I yelled to my friends, but before they could get there, one of the suits ran up and snatched it from me. He hauled it away so fast that my friends only got a glimpse of it. The suits then told us to leave the area. We stomped off, and hung around by our car. What the suits didn’t know is that the young reporter, who had his camera around his neck the whole time, had taken a photograph of the square footprint. That photo is still somewhere out there.

The police, firefighters, and ambulance were all leaving, as there were no casualties and no fire. The police announced they were all going to Denny’s, a local restaurant, for coffee. The suits asked if one of us young people would ride with them, and since I was the youngest, I was “elected."

I sat between two of the suits in the back seat. They interrogated me while we were driving, asking all kinds of personal questions, about me, what I did with my time, what movies I liked, my hobbies. Even at a young age, I knew they were fishing. I was polite, and was very happy to get out of their car. We all sat at different tables at the restaurant, and didn’t talk much, as the suits were listening.

When we left, everyone (including the suits) went to the old empty Hotel Clovis, and I hauled my big telescope up to the roof. The suits had binoculars and several small, box-like instruments they were peering through. I remember how strange it was, them letting us youngsters even go up there. We watched the sky, waited, and watched some more.

I was getting dreary eyed when one of my friends noticed some strange movement in the star field. It was as if a star would just zip across the sky to another location where it would just stay. We’d watch it a while, and it would zip again, with excited shouts going up, “Did you see that?” “Did you see?” The suits would always deny seeing anything.

This watching went on for several hours, but no stunning play of lights or colors appeared. We all went to our homes and slept until the next night.

The next day, we read in the paper that the burn had been made by fireworks. In January. I knew it was a cover-up, as the burn pattern couldn’t have possibly been made by fireworks. They also said that what was seen in the sky was Saturn. There was no mention of the footprint, or the strange piece of metal.

Brian, there is more to the story, but I’ll have to get to that later, if you’re interested. Just let me know.

I would like to extend my many thanks to the person for this wonderful report which adds a lot more information to what took place in 1976. Also there will be more to come.

Police Officer Investigates Lights/UFOs Over School At Texico New Mexico

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date: 1970's

Hi I just read your article on the UFO sightings in the area back in the 70's. Before my Dad passed away I remember him talking about a friend of his that was a police officer in Texico.

I don't remember his name, but the story was that he was called to the high school to investigate lights on the roof of the school. From what my Dad had said, is that high schoolers would on occasion clown around on the roof so he was to shoo them away.

When he arrived he described what he thought were flashlights on the roof, but he couldn't see anyone holding the lights and that they came down to the ground a little distance from him then flew away.

That's all I remember my Dad telling me because that was some years ago. Also I personally have some pictures that I took 2 summers ago in Portales which is 20 miles from Clovis.

Nobody I talked to about these pictures seemed to believe me and they did not come out as well as I would have liked. I can send them to you if you like just so you can see the light I saw. But that is a whole other story on my part and has nothing to do with the 70's sightings.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Air Force Electronics Technician Told To Shut Up From Cannon AFB Officials Over UFO Sightings

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Hi Brian, my next door neighbor and I also had some involvement with the Clovis UFO.

I also knew Steve Muscato, the photographer who took the original picture for the local newspaper.  His photo is of the stationary object that hung directly over Clovis for several days.

I believe it occurred over quite a few days. There was one stationary light, in addition to other moving objects that many people saw.  Plus, there was a photo in the paper of a mystery object found in a field.

At the time, I was 14 years old. My next door neighbor (name removed) was an Air Force electronics technician who was an amateur ham radio operator and amateur astronomer. He and I spent a night on the top floor of the Hotel Clovis observing the UFO hanging in the sky. He used some sort of equipment to determine how high in the sky the stationary object was.

He excitedly reported that in his judgement the object was approximately 300 miles above the Earth. I also took some photos, but I no longer have them. My next door neighbor was told to shut up by the base and quit "exciting the locals with wild stories."

He didn't tell me about this, but his wife later related the story of the phone call he got from his boss, to my mother. I also heard stories of guys coming from "Project Blue Book" to investigate, but my Dad, an Air Force master sergeant, said that was ridiculous because Project Blue Book didn't exist.

As an adult, I served a number of years in the Air Force and my job put me in contact with virtually every plane in the U.S. and NATO inventory. Some have claimed that the UFOs were British harrier jets. Absolutely not so.

I grew up around jets my whole life and could identify them even as a child. Neither were they weather balloons. I would have to research, but I'm not sure the Harriers were even operational at that time.

In all reality, one has to try very hard in order to mistake a jet fighter for anything else. The whole thing was very interesting, and ended as mysteriously as it started.

There was no real closure. But if you recall, Clovis was part of a rather massive UFO "scare" that occurred for a few years nationwide, beginning with the incident at Pasagoula, Miss, I think a couple of years earlier.  It was a busy time for UFO activity.  You can contact me at (phone number removed) or at email address removed if you like.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Jets Scrambled After Unknown Objects/Personal Threatened At Cannon Air Force Base New Mexico

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  June 1975

Time: Approxamtlty 10:00 p.m.

Brian Vike's Note: The report below is new one to a growing list of incidents that took place at the Cannon AFB, in NM. With so many servicemen who have filed reports of unknown objects over the base, it certainly has become clear that the Cannon AFB was a location for many UFO sightings.

I would like to ask if any other folks have information about the UFO incidents that took place at the Cannon AFB, would you please contact Brian Vike at: brian_vike@telus.net. Thank you and please note that your privacy is respected.

Brian, Per our phone conversation, this is the "sanitized" and completed events of June, 1975 at Cannon AFB, NM:

Let me go ahead and lay my experience out for you.

I was an Airman, assigned to the 27th Tactical Air Command at Cannon AFB and I worked the swing shift on the flight line. It was a Friday night and as usual, I checked the ops board for sorties. F111-Ds had a nasty habit of landing broke more often than not and on Friday nights, that meant swing shift stayed late to fix any "red x" entries in the A/C maintenance log. I was relieved to note that nothing was scheduled and so I only needed to finish my shift and start the weekend.

At around 10:00 p.m., I heard the afterburners of F111s taking off. Thinking they could be from another base, I ran outside to see. Our base identifier, "CC", was on the vertical stabilizers of the two F111-Ds that were taking off in combat formation, two staggered abreast and simultaneous. I had never seen our birds take off like that - it was simply not done.

I approached our dispatcher and told him we had just launched two. We were both upset because we weren't supposed to have any training sorties that night and nobody wanted to stay late on a Friday. He called Ops and they told him it was a hot scramble after bogeys over the base that the radar shack was tracking.

I found out later that MMS (Munitions Maintenance Squadron) loaded the F111's with live air-to-air ordinance. I also heard that it wasn't the first scramble during this time frame, but I personally was not witness to any others.

The dispatcher happened to be friends with the radar operator on duty, so we called the radar shack and put him up on the external speaker. The (veteran) radar operator was totally flummoxed. He was tracking "two or three" bogeys making impossible aerial maneuvers at impossible speeds, at least 3,000 MPH  disappearing and re-appearing. He checked and double-checked his gear and it was fine, no malfunction (he was tracking our F111's fine). I jotted down the phone number to the radar shack and stuck it in my fatigue shirt pocket.

The two A/C landed about 45 minutes later, no ordinance expended and they were in good order, no late night work for me. I heard later that the pilots were not debriefed in the normal manner. I left the shop for the Airman's Club, socialized over a pitcher of beer and played some foosball. I made it back to the barracks at about 2:00 a.m. Seeing the phone on the CQ's desk, I decided to call the radar site, it was a small portable building out in the middle of a field. I was curious and wanted an update on the bogey situation.

The phone at the other end was answered by a "Capt. Kowalski". (A captain in the radar shack at 2:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning? no way! was what I thought.) I asked for the radar operator by name and the Capt.. stated that he was not there. His voice was loud and threatening. As a young airman, I was truly frightened by his aggressiveness and almost hung up.

To cut to the chase, Capt. K. interrogated me for some time about who I was, why I was calling and so forth. During that time, a few things became clear to me:

1. He was definitely not USAF. He used terms such as "serial number" and "CO" which were common to other branches of the armed forces, but not used by USAF personnel. Whoever he was and whomever he worked for, his cover was blown.

2. He may not have even been military. He swore, no curse words excepted with every sentence, lost his temper constantly, or appeared to for effect, and sounded more like a street thug than an "officer and a gentleman". To use a military phrase, he had no "military bearing". Having been raised in a military family, military bearing is not something one comes by naturally, nor is it easily relinquished.

3. I probably should never have called for that update!

Capt. K told me the incident never happened. When I refuted him, by saying I had watched the aircraft scramble and spoke with the radar operator, he stated that I was either insane or on drugs. His voice was constantly at a yelling volume and his demeanor, highly intimidating. He stated that "we can do things to you that make Leavenworth (max-security federal penitentiary) look like a picnic". Capt. K. told me they would be watching me and that I was never to mention this "non-event" to anyone. He also stated, "it's a big desert out there, people get lost all the time". I got the point.

In the ensuing days, I attempted to locate this Capt. Kowalski, entertaining the notion of bringing him up on charges of "behavior unbecoming an officer". He simply did not exist anywhere on base. I contacted the Communications Squadron who runs the radar shack to see if they know who this Capt. was. I was surprised when I discovered that the radar operator had suddenly gotten orders to a "classified location", nobody knew where he went and none of his friends knew about any pending orders. Imho, he was conveniently disappeared.

I have provided the details of this event to The Disclosure Project. They in turn asked if I would be willing to travel to Washington D.C. and testify before Congress to that effect. My answer to them was and still is, "affirmative".

Thank you to the witness for their interesting report.

Ex Air Force Serviceman Talks About What He Knew About The Clovis New Mexico UFO

There was one stationary light, in addition to other moving objects that many people saw. Plus, there was a photo in the paper of a mystery object found in a field. At the time, I was 14 years old.

My next door neighbor Bob was an Air Force electronics technician who was an amateur ham radio operator and amateur astronomer. He and I spent a night on the top floor of the Hotel Clovis observing the UFO hanging in the sky. He used some sort of equipment to determine how high in the sky the stationary object was.

He excitedly reported that in his judgment the object was approximately 300 miles above the Earth. I also took some photos, but I no longer have them. Bob was told to shut up by the base and quit "exciting the locals with wild stories."  Bob didn't tell me about this, but his wife later related the story of the phone call he got from his boss, to my mother.

Thank you to Jonathan for his report, and also thank you to this gentleman for taking the time to have a long telephone conversation over this event and other things.
