Strange Lights Seen In Sky Over Dundas

 Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Newspaper Article.

(January 13, 2010)

Did you see something strange Friday night?

A British Columbia UFO chronicler and paranormal expert is reporting eyewitness accounts of strange vertical lights in the sky over Dundas and Waterdown.

Brian Vike, who heads his own HBCC Centre for UFO Research, says on his blog The Vike Factor the lights were seen around 8 o'clock.

One witness told Vike he and five friends were out for a walk and watched vertical lights in the sky for 30 minutes, a throbbing orange one which faded in and out and a second red vertical one.

The witness says one light had a circle opening in it which looked like an eye. Then the red lights faded after five more minutes, he said.

"As we looked down the escarpment, we could see a curved line of vertical white lights in the sky above us leading down," he said.

"Also around the same time there was white flashing light in the sky.

"It was a flash of bright white light (which) looked as if it was in mid air but because it was dark, we couldn't tell if there was an actual source or not, (because) if there was it'd have to be in the harbour."

Hamilton police were not aware of any calls reporting strange lights in the sky over Dundas Friday night.

Another witness tells Vike he was driving between Waterdown and his Dundas home when he saw three orange vertical lights that seemed to originate from a source close to the ground, go up through a clouded area and on up into the sky.

The witness thought they could be "light pillars," a visual atmospheric phenomenon created by the reflection of light from ice crystals from a light source such as the sun or moon, but they are not usually seen from several viewpoints.

Orange Light Over Dundas Ontario

Brian Vike's Favorite Cases.

Date:  May 21, 2011

Time:  Approxamtlty 9:30 p.m.

Hi there, we were just driving home up York Rd at about 9:30pm (today May 21, 2011) and my husband noticed a light and thought it was perhaps a satellite. His mother and our son saw it also, but we couldn’t tell if it was moving as we were driving.

Just before we got home on Watson’s Lane it disappeared, just gone suddenly. Turning onto Watson’s Lane from York Rd, it was ENE of us.

Feel free to write us back! Glad I found your sight (I Googled “what was that light over Dundas?”)

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Orange Balls Of Light Over Dundas Ontario

Date: December 31, 2010
Time: Couple of minutes before midnight.

Same here, New Years eve, just a couple of minutes before midnight, we saw the same orange lights you are describing.

We were having a house party and some of our guests were out on the back deck having a cigarette/cigar. Someone came running into the kitchen telling all of us to come outside to see the "meteor". The house emptied out and we all stood outside watching exactly what you describe in your story.

These glowing orbs moved from south to north. We were about 16 people, adults and children alike saw this. And I know the kids were sober !

We watched the first ball of orange light until we could no longer see it behind some houses. The kids were so excited. While we came inside to toast the New Year with champagne, the kids kept a watchful eye on the sky. Only minutes, one or two after midnight, another orange glowing ball of light appeared, moving much the same way that the first one did. it was the weirdest thing ever! Glad to know we are not all crazy!

UFO Encounter On Highway 43 (Stormont-Dundas Boundary Road)

Date: Summer of 1980 - 1982 ?
Around 11:00 p.m. to Midnight.

I have recounted this factual encounter many times over the years. I was living on the farm, sparsely populated dairy farming area on Highway 43.

Late at night, in the summer of 1980, 81 or 1982. I recollect about 11:00 p.m. to midnight. I saw 9 glowing orange lights appear through the kitchen window (facing north looking over farmer fields unobstructed all the way North to Ottawa about 25 to 30 miles due north).

I can't pinpoint the year exactly, but the sky had only stars in the background and I don't recall any moon in the sky that night when this encounter or sighting happened.

We even had a super 8 movie camera, but didn't think to get it for fear of missing this event. It happened, 100% certainty. The only uncertainty is where did these 9 saucers come from?

After looking out the window for perhaps 1 minute, I raced outside feeling an odd religious, or out of worldly feeling and seeing clearly 9 saucers which are in a holding pattern each individually hovering, each glowing a faint orange uniform colour, silently, about 1,000 feet high shaped like curling rocks.

The faint orange was distinctive, unmistakable and uniform as was the complete silence. I sensed they knew I was there and they were watching me, whoever they were. I moved forward off the porch and they held their position.

This lasted about 10 minutes or so until one darted across the entire horizon sideways (probably about 2 miles across in a nano-second) and then returned to formation, also in a nano-second.

Then some of the others darted across the sky in a similar fashion, with different directions and returned. I knew this was not of this known world because it was too sophisticated and this area is just barren field, mile after mile of farmland.

Finally, in order all 9 broke formation and zoomed upwards at a steep angle in single row, file silently and with no air displacement I was aware of, gone.

Not until 3 years ago while talking with another former resident of Highway 43 down the road from where we lived and maybe 3 miles from where I saw the flying orange saucers, does he tell me about the flying saucers of Finch and then about 2 years ago (name removed) who also lived about 3 miles down Highway 43 tells me that (name removed) also saw orange shaped UFO's around the same 1980's time frame which completely freaked him out.

If anyone has had a UFO/UFOs sighting, please send me an email at sighting@telus.net or fill out the online UFO report form at http://sightings1.yolasite.com/ with details of what you saw.

Please remember to include the date and time and location. (Town/City – State or Province) and as much detail as possible.

Three Orange Vertical Lights Over Dundas Ontario Canada

Date: January 8, 2010
Time: Hamilton

Hi Brian, I saw a link to a report that was made for January 9th, in Hamilton, Waterdown and Stoney Creek for orange lines in the sky - on PSICAN's message board.

I witnessed 3 orange vertical lights, that seemed to originate from a source close to the ground, went up to a clouded area, faded out and then continued again up into the sky, on Friday January 8th, travelling through Waterdown to my hometown of Dundas. Do you think a possible explanation for these lights could be light pillars?

I found out about this atmospheric weather condition when I was trying to research a very odd sighting of my own in December 2006, when I attended a local astronomer's monthly meeting, with a description of my sighting. Light pillars were a strong possibility, with a few major exceptions as they are apparently not typically viewed from various viewpoints, and 2 of us saw these lights, from various locations. That, along with some very odd sensory things associated with my sighting, made it difficult to pinpoint an exact natural cause at this point.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.
