An Orange Ball Of Bright Light In The Sky Over Walter's Falls Chatsworth Ontario

Date:  October 26, 2014
Time:  Approx: 7:30 p.m.

Dear Brian, I came across your webpages last night after I saw a strange orange light in the sky. I live out in rural Ontario, a place called Walters Falls, 2.5 hours northwest of Toronto.

I have been told by locals that it is a hot bed around here, for such sightings, but I have lived here 14 years and this is the first time I have seen anything like this. So it was October 26, 2014 at approximately 7:30 p.m. when I rushed out the door to put something in the mailbox.

I live in the country so my driveway is long, it is very dark, so I was about to get in the car, then up in the southwest sky I caught sight of an orange ball of light that was moving.

I thought at first it was the moon, but there is no moon right now and, it certainly was not an airplane.

I do live near the Meaford Tank Range (where much UFO activity occurs, I hear), but it is in the north.

On occasion we have seen flares that have stayed up in the air in that direction, but this was moving, and orange and not flashing, but more of a glowing light.

It also had a different feel to it. I don't know how big it actually was because there were scattered clouds, and then I lost sight of it, until I got to the end of the driveway and there it was again and it was moving in my direction.

I got out, turned the car and lights off and felt compelled to get out and stand in the dark and just watch. I was not afraid and found myself talking to it and it almost seemed it knew I was there and was aware of my thoughts towards it.

It seemed to move straight in my direction, high up and yet also hard to say the distance as it moved over the trees and then, as it kept coming towards me, I thought, uh, maybe I should get back in the car and then it turned gently to the south and disappeared over the trees.

It seemed like a ball of orange light mostly, although at one point I thought I could make out a nuance of a point at the top, hard to say, but it was the feeling of it that floored me. I was mesmerized and felt calm, for the most part. It was a thrill, to be honest.

I am now wondering what I saw and then I discovered that I am not the only one seeing these things. I have seen those Chinese lanterns alight in the summer sky, and it did have a similar glow, but this was a Sunday night in the end of October and I live in the middle of nowhere.

The other incident of unexplained light was when we first moved here. We live on fifty acres, with a marsh behind our house. The road is a ways away, down a long driveway. My husband and I awoke in the middle of the night to a glow of light outside our bedroom window, which was facing the marsh.

There was no explanation for the light source that stayed awhile, lighting it up outside, then went away. It was another moonless night. Later, speaking to our neighbour who lives behind our house through the woods, we learned that she had seen a similar light out in her field and was baffled and a little alarmed too.

Thanks for listening to my story. I am still in awe, it was beautiful.

If anyone has witnessed the light/object, please send me an email with details of what you saw. Please remember to include the date and time and location. (Town/City – State or Province) and as much detail as possible.

  2. Definitely had the exact same experience when I was about 8, we just moved to Chatsworth from Barrie, my brother, moms and pops were all in my room when that same orange glow floated overhead, directly over the house it seemed, probably just over a hundred feet in the air, and disappeared over the treeline. My whole family was speechless
This happened in the early 2000's, maybe 01 or 02. But same exact area, heading south
Are we crazy? I think not.
