Bright Orange Lights Over Lake Ontario North Towards Toronto

Date:  March 25, 2012
Time:  8:45 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 3
Number of Objects: Up to 4.
Shape of Objects: Bright orange lights.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: My son first notice from his bedroom window looking north over Lake Ontario large bright lights stationary staying for quite sometime.

Then they slowly started fading out then coming back just as bright. Then some would show up in another area of the sky, all the while obvious planes were flying around them and these lights did not move.

I was witnessing the same thing as my son, we had two sets of binoculars watching these perfectly round bright orange orbs.  I didn't quite know what to make of the whole thing.

They finally stopped after 9:00 p.m.  Just to add that they were quite large as well, much larger then the passing planes in the same area of the sky. Thank you, I hope someone else saw the same.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

  3. Saw this from Baltimore Ontario looking southeast towards grafton. At first I thought it was a helicopter with the search light on but the object never advanced. It slightly flickered like a ball of flames and was a distance of probably 5 kilometers from me. It rose slowly above the tree line, hovered for maybe 5 minutes and slowly went below the tree line again. Once below the tree line, the sky was lit up for a few more minutes. This occurred around 11pm July 6, 2012.

My wife thought I was making it up, but seeing that others are noticing this as well, I am now very curious.

  5. It happened again November 15th 2012 there was a sighting with many witnesses over the eastern side of toronto going down to the harbor. There were around 12 orange/red lights moving across the sky in a straight line. They had the ability to stop in the middle of the sky and wait for the others in formation with movements and coordination impossible to achieve with airplanes or helicopters. The lights then went straight up and dissipated into the sky. This may be an atmospheric phenomenon, does any one have any more details or information that can help explain these events?

    1. I saw this very big Orange, reddish light in the sky, last night hovering over Trinity school in Port Hope. Definitely to big to be a drone, not a helicopter or plane and it was emitting alot of light. It was there from 1am until 4am and would disappear evry 2 to 5 minutes. During that time small blinking objects would fly and hover in different directions at very different speeds. Then return and to form another large reddish, orange light. The thing that really bothers me; is that it was very low to the ground. I would say that it was only about 10-20ft over the peeks of Trinity School. When together these lights would reappear slightly move to the left or right. At 4am the small blinking lights all headed towards Lake Ontario and vanished. I was really spooked. I woke my husband and showed him and video taped as best as I could. It was very weird. Nothing I can explain!
